About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- T9387CTjohnk0 contributionsA little rushed at times, but a wonderful tripIt's a bit of cliché to say a travel experience was the trip of a lifetime. But in the case of the Bujo Tours 8-day tour of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater, it's an apt description. First up was a game drive in Tarangire National Park, a perfect way to ease into life on the road. The park is small compared to its more famous neighbours but the wildlife is plentiful and easy to see. The second day we took the long drive to the Serengeti. It was just as spectacular as it looks in the nature documentaries -- a never-ending plain of dry grass, studded here and there with umbrella-like acacia trees. Because of its size, the animals were widely spread out and there were many periods when nothing much was visible. But when they appeared, the animal sightings were memorable: Plenty of giraffes, warthogs, gazelles, antelopes, hippo, crocs and even rarely-seen serval cats and a leopard in a tree. Several times, we got very close to lions, including an entire pride of a dozen animals, just a few yards away. We were amazed at how nonchalant lions can be, casually walking within a couple of paces of the truck, studiously ignoring us. One of the sights we most wanted to see was the Great Migration -- more than 1.5 million wildebeests on their way north toward Kenya. It was fascinating to see huge herds grazing just off the road, then suddenly forming single-file lines to continue their northward trek. The only disappointment was that the wildebeests were not ready to make the spectacular crossing of the Mara River. It's completely a matter of luck and our timing happened to be bad. Perhaps the most enjoyable part of the trip was in the Ngorongoro Crater. The early morning mist and the the sun slowing creeping down the crater wall made for an enchanting atmosphere and animals were everywhere. The tour was very well run. It was a private tour, meaning we had our own driver/guide Freddy and our own cook, Aresto. Freddy has a keen eye and was usually the first to spot wildlife. He's very knowledgeable and happy to stop whenever we wanted a longer look. Aresto's meals were mostly delicious stews and curries. You should be aware that the accommodation throughout was safari tents, big enough for a 6-footer to stand in. We slept in sleeping bags on foam mats. If you're used to camping, you'll have no trouble with the accommodations. At night we could hear lions calling nearby, sometimes sounding like they were just outside our tent. (According to Freddy, one night they actually were!) I have few criticisms, but I do wish the pace of the safari was a little slower. Sometimes it felt like we were racing to fit in as much as possible. That was most notable in the Ngorongoro Crater. Soon after coming to the crater floor, Freddy got word that a black rhino was nearby. In our race to get there, we sped right past a huge herd of water buffalo right on the side of the road. In the end, we saw only a glimpse of the rhino about a kilometre away. I would far prefer to have spent time close to the water buffalo. We were only in the crater half a day. I would recommend spending a whole day there, even a day and a half. It's too nice a place to race through. But overall, it was a wonderful trip and I give Bujo Tours five stars.Written September 3, 2024
- Roam670303205110 contributionsGreat experience! We went on a 5 day safari trip to Nyerere and mikumi. Everything went smoothly. Great hotels and amazing safari experience. Also, we can highly recommend Antony, who were our driver and guide. Really cool guy, who knows what he is talking about.Written August 14, 2024
- GosiaD19810 contributionsIt’s definitely a YES!We went with Bujo Tours on 5-day safari to Nyerere NP and Mikumi NP. It was a marvellous experience. Antony was our guide and he was great - open, flexible with a lot of knowledge about the parks, the animals, the plants but also about Tanzania. He was The camps we were staying at - Africa Safari Selous in Nyerere and Camp Bastian in Mikumi - were very good, especially the latter one. Persistent in looking for different species of wild animals. A very good driver. The 5-day tour comprises a lot of travelling but it was a great opportunity to see the normal life in Tanzania. Last but not least, thanks to Sweve - the communication before booking the tour was very good, Sweve was flexible and cooperative, he responded very quickly to all questions we had. We definitely recommend exploring the wild Tanzanian nature with Bujo Tours!Written July 7, 2024
- nawaabk20200 contributionsGreat service,Sweve from bujo was absolutely amazing from start to finish, he even helped me with sorting my visas out as I was having issues with a referral visa needed for my wife and he managed to sort it out within a few days as I was panicking, may I add with no request for payments or anything for this. The safari was also great, we had Antony as our guide who was brilliant also very friendly and informative. The lodge at selous were really nice too with great service. Thanks teamWritten June 11, 2024
- S6980YSrebeccah0 contributionsGreat experience!I really enjoyed my trip to Nyerere National Park with Anthony in March 2024. The safari & the bush walk were incredible to be a part of. We saw everything but lions but as the animals are not paid actors, I wasn’t disappointed in not seeing them. It’s great to see the teams communicating where they’d seen animals to give everyone the best chance to see everything. The experience was great & would highly recommend. The accommodation was changed a couple of days before departure and the new place was beautiful! The food was delicious and they were happy to provide 2nd portions when I was particularly hungry. The boat safari was not good but that was because the river was so high & it being 45c/113f + , not because of Bujo Tours or Anthony at all. Magical experience, thank you!Written March 15, 2024
- GrandTour258837574330 contributionsAmazing experienceWe did a 3 day safari tour in Mikumi and Uzwanga Nationalpark. It was a wonderful experience! - Sini M0 contributionsGreat safari experienceWe did 4 days safari in Mikumi and Nyerere national parks. These were great picks for us since these were not crowded at all but we got to see so many animals and beatiful scenes. On second day we had a long drive from Mikumi to Nyerere after a visit to Maasai village. On third day we had a morning game drive in Nyerere and if I would change something, i would’v liked to leave there a little bit more early, since it took some time to get the permits etc. and we arrived at 8-9 am there which were little late I think. Overall we had a great experience with Bujo Tours. Communication with Mr.Bujo was very easy and fast. Our lodges during the safari were super nice and everything was organized well. Shoutout also to our guide Anthony!Written October 5, 2023
- Wander7326090 contributionsIncredible safari experienceWe booked a 9 day safari with Bujo Tours and chose to add on the trip to visit Masaai as well as one night drive. Everything about this trip was fantastic and it was truly unforgettable experience. Bujo was very accommodating and although it was was very well planned (which was great!), we felt that there was still some flexibility with the schedule. Our guide, Justin was absolutely amazing. He was extremely knowledgable and always ready to answer any questions we had. He always knew exactly where to take us and went above and beyond to make sure sure we got the best views of everything. Thanks to him, we were able to see everything we wanted to, including two sightings of the wildebeest migration crossing! The wildlife was stunning and we managed to get quite a close up view of so many lions, giraffes, elephants, zebras, wildebeest - the list goes on! We opted to do the camping option where we moved to a few different campsites throughout the 9 days. The team we had at Bujo set everything up as we arrived which made it so easy at every campsite. The tent was also quite spacious and comfortable for two people. We had no issues sleeping. The chef made some delicious food for us and there was always plenty of it. There was lots of variety as well so we had the option to try lots of different things at every meal. Thank you to Bujo Tours for giving us the trip of a lifetime. I would happy book another trip with Bujo one day and highly recommend them to anyone!Written September 24, 2023
- sampt10 contributionsAmazing safari holiday thanks to Bujo ToursWe had the best experience with Bujo tours! The communications with them were very easy and they were super responsive in answering all of our questions. We booked a 9 day safari tour (by adding one day to the wildebeest migration trip to visit lake Manyara) and we included the add ons of a night drive, walking safari, and Maasai visit. The days were perfectly planned and well balanced and Bujo were flexible in making some suggestions to slightly alter the plans on certain days to make sure our preferences were taken into account. Our guide (Justin) was fantastic! He was super knowledgeable and informative, had great instincts (which allowed us to see two wildebeest river crossings) and of course eagle eyes that gave us the most amazing sightings. We saw pretty much everything we wanted to see (apart from the elusive rhino!) and just had the most amazing experience that made the nine days just fly by. We had a large 4x4 vehicle with an open roof top that was very spacious and made it easy to see animals from all angles. We choose to do camping and Bujo provided us with a spacious tent that we could stand up in that we set up for us at each camp site. Some of the facilities of the campsites were better than others but overall it was a really cool experience sleeping out in the bush and being able to listen to animals at night. The food was also great - we were never left hungry! Everything ran really smoothly and honestly could not recommend Bujo tours enough as they really gave us an incredible holiday.Written August 20, 2023
- cajk_cajk0 contributionsGreat budget private safari with friendly guideWe were looking for a Safari company, that would offer us a private tour for a good price and Bujo did fit our needs. The manager (Sweve) was fast to reply via whatsapp. We did multiple iterations of different itineraries and Sweve always sent multiple options of time plan and accommodation. When we agreed on the itinerary, we paid 10% deposit online. The day before the start of our Safari, we met in Arusha with our guide Nick, made final arrangements and paid the rest in cash. Nick was super friendly and very experienced guide. He knew all places very well and was very patient and tried to fulfill all our wishes. Thanks to the fact that we paid for private safari, there was only two of us (plus Nick) in the car and we could completely manage the pace at we drove in the parks. We are somewhat a enthusiast birders and thanks to that we had enough time to closely inspect the bushes when we saw some feathered activity. Even though birding is not Nicks specialization, he had a book and actively tried to help us identify all the birds that were new to us. We were tight on budget so we picked the cheapest version, which means staying in camp outside of park in a tented camp (Kizumba). In the camp, there were big tents with actual beds inside, which was convenient and comfortable. The boxed lunch food for safari was prepared by the camp and it was quite tasty, with some snacks like fruit and biscuits. The car we drove was smaller version of those big 8 passenger cars, with pop-up roof. The car was quite older (which is understandable for a budget safari) but beside the visual impression, it didn't affect the riding experience at all. The car had a power outlet in the passenger area but sadly it was not functional at the moment. But I was able to charge my power bank at the drivers usb outlet. Overall, from our experience I can say that Bujo is a reliable company and we got everything we paid for. Our guide Nick is a great person and excellent guide that I would gladly recommend.Written July 12, 2023
- 950natym0 contributionsYou can see animals in the wild with a great team. It was an unforgettable experience. The trip was absolutely great. We had amazing team. Driver was really friendly just like his assistant. The driver, Moisis, gave us lots of information which was great. But our chef, Ludyga, was absolutely fantastic. Every single one of his dishes was great and he was incredibly helpful.Written July 11, 2023
- Jade9390 contributionsWonderful safariI enjoyed this trip very much, and I am very satisfied with the itinerary arranged by bujo tours. Before I came here, I was worried that it would not be fun to be alone, so I communicated with bujotours online for a long time. They responded promptly and patiently, and were able to make reasonable arrangements according to my needs. The three-day safari itinerary was arranged to travel with friends from different countries every day, which was very interesting. On the last day, I arranged a coffee trip for me. The travel agency's little partner accompanied me the whole time, and was very considerate. Thank you very much Bujotours, let me have an unforgettable experienceWritten July 2, 2023
- Houndoc0 contributionsFantastic way to see TanzaniaMy adult son and I did this trip together- his first time in Africa (I had been a few other times.) Our guide (Nick) and chef were far above amazing. Could not have hoped for a better team. The wildlife was stunning- from the tens of thousands of wildebeest to frequent large cat sightings. Can hardly wait to start working through the photos!! Our tent and Land Cruiser where nothing fancy but comfortable and got the job done. I would be more than happy to sign right back up with them and return.Written May 30, 2023
- 770anaritaf0 contributionsAmazing experienceWe did a combo of 3 days mount Meru + 3 days Safari with Bujo Tours and we were really please with the experience! Bujo planned the trip in advance with us, to accommodate our requests and build the perfect itinerary. When the time came we did not need to worry about anything, we simply had to enjoy our holidays :) Our guide in the safari was Moses - he was really really funny and really knowledgeable about the wildlife, we were able to spot all big 5, and because we like birds he presented us with really detailed explanations on them. We totally recommend Bujo Tours!Written May 20, 2023

I spent 4 very nice days in the south of Tanzania. The group I joined and the driver Tony were the best company. If you don’t want to travel alone, I can highly recommend to do a safari by joining a group.
