I had the pleasure of flying with Tupo Travel as our tour operator. It was truly spectacular; the Kilimanjaro views were breathtaking. Our pilot was very knowledgeable and gave us details and the formation about the mountain as we went around flying, he gave a good commentary of what we were seeing, and the ride was comfortable. Mary's genuine enthusiasm was contagious, and everyone we met was friendly and was happy to see us. I was nervous about flying in a helicopter, but I had nothing to worry about with my friends around. Our flight over and around Kilimanjaro was one of the highlights of our trip. I could tell that the pilot was very experienced, the take-off and landing was smooth and the flight itself very relaxing. We had a great time. My daughter and I contacted Tupo Travel for a guided hike in the Kilimanjaro Machame route trip. As it was our first hiking experience, we wanted a knowledgeable person so we could get the most out of the short time we had. We contacted them through their website and received a very quick reply. A brief online chat with Mary answered all my questions and we signed up for a guided 7-day hike. Our guide met us in advance at Ameg Hotel to introduce himself and explain what we would expect, what gears we had and what would be provided. On the day of the hike we met the small group of porters and our cook, who helped us get ready and we were off! Collins our guide was so knowledgeable about the Kilimanjaro history, geography, and allowed us to take the time we needed to enjoy the views, we asked questions and pointed out so many details that we never would have known from a guide book or on our own. The cook brought fresh food and we had a picnic adventure through the Machame trail. The hike was better, and we’re already thinking about our next adventure next year. We used Tupo Travel to book a trip to Kilimanjaro and paid in full upfront. I booked the May 2020 Kilimanjaro Lemosho hiking tour/trip for my daughter and I. Mary the travel consultant replied patiently to all our requests. And unfortunately, we are in the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic and all the uncertainty it brought to us. Even though our trip was more than 60 days out, we decided to play it safe and requested to cancel our trip. Mary responded that there would be no additional fee and we could cancel and receive a 100% refund. I was a bit surprised about being not charged any additional fees according to their refund policy. They wired the funds to my account and I got a full refund. I understand that we are living in unusual times and that everyone, particularly small businesses, is doing their best to manage through it, but I was amazed by Tupo Travel decisions. Having traveled always with the help of online travel agents, we now decided and wanted to change and work with a local tour operator. Tupo Travel popped up in our searches as we were looking for a reliable tour in East Africa. Their website had some ready-made tours for each park we wanted to visit as a family, but we decided to contact them to inquire for a custom-made itinerary. The communication was quick with detailed information. They proposed an itinerary after a few days, and we accepted it with some change requests. The whole process took approximately 3 days to have all sorted out and we were ready to book and pack for a 15-day African safari. The game drive safari in Serengeti National Park was above all a life-changing and fantastic experience. Also, the Kilimanjaro Lemosho route wonderful scenery, mixed terrain with some challenges along the way, great accommodation/meals in the parks and knowledgeable mountain/safari guides The whole 15-day tour went smoothly. Traveling with a tour operator with flexible options was a rewarding experience. With all enthusiasm, we wouldn’t hesitate to use them in the future and recommend the company to anyone who needs a personalized experience and still figures out how and whom to rely on. The whole adventure of hiking Kilimanjaro through Machame route for 7 days was amazing from start to finish. Our guide was exceptional and I highly recommend that you take a guide from Tupo Travel. The female guide Farida we had was really fun, fit, relaxed, an exceptional Kilimanjaro climber and made us feel at ease during some challenging areas of the route like the Barranco wall climbing on our third day. Also, it is nice to have pictures taken from the guide of you along the way. Thank you, Tupo Travel, for an awesome experience.

Tupo Travel went way above and beyond our expectations. The Kilimanjaro climb was great. Ally, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the route trail and safe. There was fantastic view of the Shira plateau. We had talked in the office before we left for the climb that morning about having eight days of adventuring before we had to be in Zanzibar for a beach vacation. Tupo travel had written out an awesome detailed literary for us to follow from day to day. Our head guide Ally, Collins, porters and everyone at Tupo Travel really went out of their way to take care of us and it is very much appreciated. Don't miss the opportunity to spend some time with these guys and experience Kilimanjaro like you never have before. Tupo Travel, we cannot thank you enough for the most incredible journey and experience on Kilimanjaro. We hiked the Kilimanjaro Lemosho route 8 days with chief guide Ally and his team in July, and finished the journey richer with experiences and friendships made along the way. The entire team was so welcoming and happy and eager to help in any way they could to make the trip the most memorable. We have the utmost respect for the porters and the hard work they do; it definitely didn’t go unnoticed! And to have the enthusiasm to sing and encourage us when we reached the camp at the end of the day, was so uplifting. The tents and equipment were set up quickly before we arrived, which was particularly appreciated during the days that it rained, and everything was clean and tidy. Ally and Collins were incredible guides and became good friends who made us laugh and encouraged us and taught us along the way. Collins experience and knowledge were so evident; we always felt safe and informed of what to expect. He was able to push us where needed, and made us rest when he felt we needed it- even when we didn’t think so... and he was right every time! Our cook was animated and eager to chat and laugh with us. We looked forward to meal times to see what delicious things he had made and to hear what he’d have to say next. We reached at the summit peak(Uhuru Peak) successfully thanks to the hard work and commitment and passion from our team. Summit night was the most challenging thing I think we’ve ever done, but an amazing adventure that we will never forget. Thank you for helping us achieve. The 6 Day Marangu Route climb with Tupo Travel was an amazing experience. Mary was always helpful with prompt responses making my preparations easier even though I had to keep changing my plans several times. The climb itself was very well organized and exceeded my expectations. Ally my chief guide was fantastic. He is a wonderful caring guy who was always looking out for my well being. His goal was to help me summit whilst ensuring I was safe all the way through. His experience as a guide and knowledge of the mountain was evident from the start and this was key to my success. The crew was great. They made sure I was very well looked after and their service was beyond expectations. I did not expect the food to be so good on the mountain.
