Best in planning and helping out when in doubt
I contacted Naick in 2020 while planning a safari that fell through due to covid. I’m glad that I came back to them in 2022 and the services was a Top Notch and best believe I wrote a review back then about the best service provided as I am writing another one right now because they didn’t miss the mark even on this tour And my primary reason for visiting Tanzania this time was to trek up Kilimanjaro, having done visiting the Serengeti and ngorongoro with Kilisa last year. Naick was his usual best in planning and scheduling the trek perfectly as he was flexible during the planning stage, responsive to our questions and concerns. And this time with a group of 5 people. Eventually we made it – pick up and transfer was made the hotel picked Parkview was amazing and so were the staff Through the email exchange, we took Naick’s recommendation and did Machame trail and it worked on our favor when we did the trek because we both made it to the summit A professional and committed guide, they understood our physical limits, setting doable speeds with enough rest breaks. It is very clear that we would not have made it to Freedom Peak without their support The Whole Kilisa Team From the office to the mountain crew that includes the guides, chef and porters – I would say they are service minded. Not only do they deliver 110% as promised. They also go the extra mile to make their clients feel safe and comfortable. This was an awesome trip and I am happy to recommend Kilisa to everyone here wondering what to pick for their Tanzania adventure as I had already recommended it to some of my friend and colleagues

    Tour with Kilisa Tours
First and foremost Kilisa clearly cares about all aspects of the trip, and this is most apparent in their excellent communication. From pre-booking until the conclusion of the trip just got back from climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro with Kilisa. It was a successful climb and my friends and I owe the success of our hike to our incredible and knowledgeable guides Tammy and Bakari as they were very easy to talk to in regards to anything we needed to be accommodated with on briefing day and during the trek They provided guidance for every step of our hike to give us the best chance to succeed. They always explained why we were doing certain things and checked in on us. They were extremely knowledgeable and professional - We had a blood oxygen and health check every night to make sure we were healthy. While, I have the utmost appreciation for the rest of the crew. Everything was clean and timely. The entire crew did their duties enthusiastically and with cheer. The entire crew employees of Kilisa can ensure the quality of the service provided Reaching the summit all 3 of us together was such a special moment, and the view from the top is maybe the coolest thing I’ve seen in my whole life. “All worth it “ Coming from our multi-day Mt. Kilimanjaro trek, we took a day's rest and proceeded to another adventure - the African Safari in Tanzania! We chose the 3-day camping option to be one with nature. We slept in open campsites. It was such an amazing experience visiting Serengeti and Ngoro Ngoro and our Guide Beatus was the greatest to make it happen when it came to spotting animals All in all I have no hesitation in recommending the company to anyone else.

    Kilisa is highly recommended
We decided to join with the perfect group that led us to the Top of Africa with the company called Kilisa and for anyone planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, would recommend this as I will definitely suggest the company to anyone looking for a great time in the mountains. What can I say? The trip was fantastic. Price was reasonable and they offered the best of the best service that exceeded our expectations, the team was super great and helpful, Bakari and Tammy- our guides, had the patience of a saint as they were knowledgeable and courteous. The food was excellent and plenty, tents and campsite was fantastic including the private toilet😍 not to mention the great porter team as they sang cool songs which kept us on going and motivated throughout the entire trek And even on departure day we left the hotel early as we had a few stops to shop on our way to the Airport Also recommend the Lemosho route for 7 to 8 days, which is so beautiful. We will be back for Serengeti.

Safe, successful & incredibly enjoyable summit thanks to Kilisa
For the quick readers: We had an incredible trip up to Mt Kilimanjaro with Kilisa, on the 8-day Lemosho route, resulting in a successful summit. Our guides (Goodluck and Abraham) and a phenomenal team of porters, cook & back office ensured our group (3 hikers, 64, 29 and 30 years) were safe at all times, but also learned a lot about Tanzania. Not booking with Kilisa would be a huge mistake - they are local, are embedded in the community, and will ensure you have the best journey with the highest chance of summiting. For the detail-interested-ones :) Why this route & Kilisa at first: We decided to take a trip to Mt Kilimanjaro in September 2023 - we included my mother, 64, my partner (30) and myself (29). The fact that we had my mother with us, and that we love more varied landscapes made us choose the 8-day-Lemosho Route with varied vegetation zones and highest chance of summiting. We choose Kilisa due to their good reviews, but also, as they are from Kilimanjaro and ensure the money goes back into the community. This choice was verified to be the best we could have made! Organisation: The backoffice (Naik & Julia) ensured that the organisation of the trip was smooth. We had received detailed packing lists and trip plans beforehand to prepare. From the moment we arrived in Tanzania, to the moment we left, we were constantly taken care of and felt very pampered. For example, our guides did not only brief us prior to leaving, but also checked every piece of our equipment before starting the trip. As a result, they provided us with warmer trousers - Thank god, as I saw people climbing in leggings at minus degrees. The route itself: You will find lots of details on the route itself, distances, hiking time per day on here. We took the 8 Day Lemosho Route, as the duration makes it much easier to acclimatise resulting in a much higher chance of summiting (more on this below). The best part of that tour specifically, though, I think is the varied vegetation. Some people were dropped at higher altitudes and missed the rainforest, which I enjoyed almost the most. Right when we started the hike we saw several different monkeys, birds & exotic species’. Then you enter Heather & Moorland, as gorgeous as you can imagine. Finally you arrive at the alpine desert and the peak. This varied vegetation makes you appreciate nature from a different angle, and is truly special! Success & Safety: Our guides made it clear from the start that it’s about the journey and NOT about reaching the top. By taking this to heart, we made sure to enjoy every day on the hike, learning lot’s from our guides, pushing our limits without compromising our health (“pole pole”). Our health was always first - from the equipment check before even starting, to continued check- ins during the hikes all the way to oxygen and pulse checks in the night. For many of you readers this might sound irrelevant - but you’d be surprised of how many do not summit, because of a bad guide-hiker-relationship where a slower “pole pole” approach could have helped, or even worse: die. We submitted successfully and happily - but even if we had not, we would have had an amazing trip! Guides & Team: Our team (4 porters per person so 12, 1 cook, 2 guides) were a dream team! Starting with the guides (Goodluck and Abraham) who became our family. Highly competent - they know the mountain like the back of their hand, but also how to assess a hiker's health. Both throughout shared lot’s about Tanzania, were very friendly and helpful and took great care in particular of my mother. In fact - the entire team did: I remember how one of our porters carried my mothers backpack every now and then, or how others helped her clean the shoes whenever we arrived at camp. They all worked on a common goal: making our journey as memorable as possible. And all of them are kind and helpful! Food & Accommodation: Of course, our camp was all already set by the time we arrived on site - bags in our rooms, warm water to wash our hands, tea ready in our dining tent. Our cook (Amos) ensured that we had plenty of food for every meal with a varied menu - from chicken with fries, to Fried Rice with Vegetables, daily fruit such as Watermelon and more - we were fed well! He even took notice of what we really liked on his menu - on day 3 when resupply arrived we suddenly had an abundance of tea choices on a camping trip. You can tell, I could go on for hours on how amazing I thought this trip was. If you book with Kilisa, I know they will do their best so that you have a trip of a lifetime!

    Ol Doinyo Lengai hike
I went with Kilisa on a two night trip from Arusha and climbed Ol Doinyo Lengai. It was a wonderful experience! The guides were thoughtful and helpful, and explained everything very well. Everything was as advertised, and we were always on schedule. I would happily do another trip with them in the future.

8 day Lemosho route Kilimanjaro trek
I went on the 8 day Lemosho trek to Kilimanjaro with Kilisa Tours. The whole crew with guide, cook and porters was amazing and ensured that it was an incredible trek to the top. The whole proces of planning and booking the tour, information, pick-up at the airport and the trek itself was very professional. The company was extremely service-minded and easy to get in contact with. When I was unlucky to have unforeseen problems with a cancelled flight they were very flexible and was able to reschedule my trip with short notice. All in all booking and going with Kilisa Tours was an impeccable experience. The service and people were amazing and I give them my best recommendations.

7 day Lemosho Route and Safari in Tarangire
I had a great adventure of a lifetime. The 7 day’s hike via Lemosho route was a success all credits to our lead guide the legendary Goodluck, Abraham and Oscar. They made the hike easy and fun through the games we played as we ascended each terrain. The guides are really patient, understanding and very helpful especially tackling the challenging route. Anyway, Every time we arrived in the camp ground, the tent are set up, the basin with water is ready to clean ourselves up and that’s because of the porters. They made sure that we had a pleasant and relaxing night so to be ready for the next days adventure. The food is plenty and is really good to fill our hungry tummy. Ahsante Sana Kilisa, you made sure that our journey is safe and memorable. During summit night, I was panicking and had stomach upset but Goodluck, Abraham and Oscar and the rest of my team keeps me calm and pushed me to keep going. After the hike, the team went safari in Tarangire and is still under Kilisa Tours and Safaris. Our guide Chris is really awesome and very knowledgeable about the animals inside the park. There is no dull moment as we explore the park. All good things must come to an end, Kilisa Tours and Safaris are always there from our arrival until our departure they never left us. Ahsante Sana, Naick and the Kilisa Tour and Safaris staff. You made our journey unforgettable. Highly recommended.

    The Best Adventure Ever!
Every part of the journey was my favorite. One of them was the games that we play as we hike. It helped us forget that we are hiking. It was fun. We liked the meals served every single day. They served plenty of food which we can't consume. The positive vibes, the care, the endless patience, the spirit of camaraderie, the swahili words that we learned, the love, and many more. Asante sana, Kilisa. You made this dream possible. Hats off to our three incredible guides headed by the legend, Goodluck, Abraham, and Oscar. You all are brilliant strategist. Thank you for a very succesful summit night. No one was left behind. Thank you to all the porters. You are the backbone of this successful journey. Without you, this may not be possible. Asante sana to the entire staff of Kilisa Tours and Safaris headed by Naick Msemo. From the booking to our departure and everything in between, you never let us down. You took good care of all our needs, made adjustments, answered ll our questions, made everyone feel safe and comfortable. I can go on and on and on....Thank you. More power to this incredible company! This company, KILISA TOURS AND SAFARIS is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

    Life changing experience
I was solo female traveller, first time in Africa and I choose Kilisa for 3 different adventures and I have no regrets. From the start, Naick answered all my questions quickly so I was able to book the trip I wanted. Everything went well and i felt really looked after through my entire trip. I did 3 day MT MERU with guide Tammy. If you do anything with Kilisa, I can not recommend enough for you to specifically request Tammy!!! He really tries to understand what you need and make sure you not only summit, but you are enjoying yourself and are happy. Warning: you will likely gain new brother :) He preaches the same to his crew and we all had really a lot of fun. The whole crew really did several small touches that made my trip special and successful and also for this reason Mt Meru tour was my favourite experience in my whole 3 week stay in Tanzania. I also did 7 day LEMOSHO ROUTE. Unfortunately Kilisa decided to change my guide without informing me as initially Tammy was supposed to be my guide for Kilimanjaro also. This was the only dislike towards Kilisa, but it was a strong one. While I enjoyed my time with the new crew, I would have much different and better experience with Tammy and his crew. Again I highly recommend you specifically request Tammy for your Kilimanjaro climb. Apart from this, of course I still enjoyed my climb. My guide was Goodluck. He is very knowledgable in terms of plants and know also the scientific names, so if you are botanist, you would enjoy Goodluck as your guide. He is kind, calm and friendly. His crew was really nice and made sure my summit was success. I was experiencing some nausea/stomach cramps and they did outmost to make me feel better. I was really not feeling well during my summit push and Goodluck was encouraging me along the way and I did manage to make it to the top. I really urge you to allocate decent budget for the tips for the crew. They work really hard and as you will see the terrain is not easy for carrying heavy/bulky packs and the tips makes huge difference in their life. You would not make it to the top without them. I also regret I have not gotten more gear from me and my friends to donate to the porters. I also did tour to CHEMKA HOT SPRINGS with Kilisa. My guide was Nixon, we had a lot of fun on the way and I learned some new Swahili words. At the springs he took a lot of pictures for me and came to check up on me few times to make sure I'm ok and that I dont need anything. Lunch was included and was really nice. The tour is nice because you get to spend really a whole day at the springs. Majority people came there for hour or two and left and I got to spend really a long time. This was nice specially in the afternoon as it got really quiet and at some points there was nobody else in the water. I also want to give shoutout to Kilisa's driver Ellias. He is bit shy, but he was my driver few times since I did several tours and he has been really kind and funny.

    Safari with Kilisa
What an amazing 7 days expedition we had with Kilisa!!!!!! Enjoyed every minute of it. The hike to Mandara hut was outstanding. Guidance of Bakari and Nixon helped us get to the top even though we started hiking a bit late. All along they were patient and kept pouring out all the knowledge they had and encouraged us to ask questions as well as climb “pole pole “( slowly, slowly). On the Safari, Beatus kept us entertained. His eyes in locating the animals as well as his skill of taking pics thru binoculars was amazing. The accommodations for four nights during the safari was GREAT. It was like an Oasis in desert!!!!!! The meals were well thought of. Naick, the big boss is perfect in his own place…… what fun memory we made on the very first day 🙈 we met in person. He was prompt in replying any of the queries we had before we reached Tanzania. He made us comfortable in leaving our extra luggage at his office when we went on safari. Last but not least the pick up and drop off by Juliana was awesome. She made us feel at home by talking all about Shahrukh Khan and playing Bollywood music. Thank you Kilisa for helping us make great memories and put a smile on our faces every time we would look at the pics. ❤️

    Amazing Serengeti & Ngorongoro Safari
We had the most amazing Safari with Kilisa! Everything was so well organized from start to finish and we had an absolutely great experience in the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. Especially wonderful was our safari guide Said who really went out of his way to make this the best possible experience for us and was so knowledgeable about all kind of animals and definitely taught us a lot. We basically saw all animals and also up very close which was amazing. Can recommend this to anyone!
