My bothers and I shared one of the most incredible experiences in Tanzania as we trekked up Kilimanjaro. Our host Naick of Kilisa Tours & Safaris is the man behind our success. He was solely responsible in putting everything together from the logistics, support team, permits, supplies, accommodations pre and post climb, to every little thing that we had on that during the trek was not there by chance. The climbing crew was led by guide Goodluck assisted by Oscar. This pair went out of their way to ensure that we had a phenomenal trek. They were quick to assess our physical capabilities and aligned the trekking speed to a comfortable pace. They closely monitored our health and also ensured that we well nourished. To be honest all the crew were amazing. They treated us well and took care of all our needs. Trekking up this mountain started off easy but gradually got tougher as we progressively got higher. We could barely walk by the time we got to the Barafu camp because of fatigue. The length and altitude got us struggling, luckily Goodluck and his team helped us and did not leave our side till we made it to Uhuru Peak. Naick hosted a farewell party in our honour after the trek which was a really nice touch where we ate, sang and danced late into the night before our outbound flight early the next morning. We are now safely back home and have very fond memories of our time there. We will definitely return to Tanzania for another adventure and Kilisa Tours & Safaris will be our point of call. Our safari to Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti with Kilisa Tours and Safaris for exceeded all our expectations in every way. We were impressed by the high standards set right from our pickup at the airport, during the trip to the good byes. Nothing was left to chance as every detail had been well planned for. The four of us were driven by Said and he made the trip enjoyable with his charming and easy going personality coupled with his good English and deep knowledge of the parks, animals and everything about Tanzania. Many a times he seemed to know where to find the animals and he rarely missed. He could also identify the animals from great distances with his sharp eyes. We were happy to have such a person with our family as he was respectful and courteous at all times. We were very impressed by the sights in Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. We managed to see many different animals including some close encounters with cheetahs, lions, elephants, hyenas and huge wildebeest & zebra herds migrating southwards from a hot air balloon. Naick's choice of camps and lodges was fabulous. We really enjoyed ourselves as we were pampered in these fine resorts. I would do anything to spend another Christmas on tour with Kilisa Tours and Safaris. They made it awesome

We could not have asked for a better experience on Kilimanjaro. Everything about this trip with this local operator was top notch. Starting with the booking with Naick who made it smooth and easy with his timely responses and advice. Payment was easy and they took care of all the logistics that all we had to do was present ourselves at the KIA. The actual trek was tough but our crew made it easier with with their support. They were everything a wonderful crew should be and much more. Nickson and Livingstone were knowledgeable and very experienced on the Machame route. They observed all the safety protocols and left nothing to chance. They had thought and prepared for almost everything. It was reassuring to get our vitals checked every morning and evening for oxygen levels. Their depth of knowledge and concern for our safety was their top priority. Everything was well organized and scheduled in the itinerary. Meals were prepared by our chef and were very tasty. The equipment was excellent, especially the waterproof tents that kept us dry. The summit night was tough! We almost turned back, but were coaxed and encouraged by Nickson and Livingstone to keep going. We owe them our successful summit. I highly recommend Kilisa Tours and Safaris for all those planning to trek up Kilimanjaro. They are not only reasonably priced but also take their clients hospitality very seriously.

We have visited Tanzania before, but this was our first time trekking Kilimanjaro. Me and my family did the Kilimanjaro hiking for 7 Days Lemosho route with Kilisa Tours & Safaris. Thank you to Kilisa Tours for a unique trekking experience and once-in-a-lifetime adventure, climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa at 5,895 m above sea level. From when we contacted Kilisa Tours and Safari, Naick was there for us, providing us with everything we needed to reach the summit- Uhuru. We used the seven-day Lemosho route, and Kilisa provided us with two Guides, a chef and twelve porters who carried our bags, tents and food. Considering the high altitude, the food was of a higher standard, a credit to the chef. I can not thank the Guides and the Porters enough for their support and encouragement and for making the trek safer and enjoyable. Despite the challenges, you feel immense accomplishment upon reaching the summit. If you are thinking of hiking Mount Kilimanjaro, I urge you to consider Kilisa Tours and Safari. This trip was a long time in the making and Naick/Kilisa Tours helped us to achieve this every step of the way. Kilisa seemed to be the most reasonably priced when we searched around but when we finally got onto the trek, we realised just how good the value was for our money. We had a team of 15 locals from the Kilimanjaro Region with us, including two experienced guides, Nickson and Livingstone. With their help we, as inexperienced but reasonably fit hikers, were able to reach the summit. The team could not have been more supportive. In the long buildup, Naick was very patient and helpful in emails and whatsapp messaging, allowing us the time and knowledge that we needed to organise our trip. We got a thorough briefing and help preparing our trekking gear/clothes, at the hotel, on the night before the trek. Each evening we had a briefing about the following day, before getting a wake up call in the morning from our attentive host, Zakayo - who accompanied us to the summit on the final day and will make for a great future guide. We were treated to fresh ginger tea daily, as well as other hot drinks and soup to keep warm and big portioned meals/snacks for energy. The porters in the team have great strength and heart. After we had stocked our smaller bags with the day's essentials, they would pack up the camp, including our remaining larger bags and move the whole camp to our next location - overtaking us on the way! At this point, as others have mentioned, paying for a private toilet for your group/self, to have as part of your camps, is well worth the money from the start. Our guides were more than mere pace setters, pointing the way forward, they were knowledgeable about the local region, flora and forna. They have vast experience of climbing Kilimanjaro from all the various routes. Also, importantly, they were very humble, friendly, supportive, just generally good humoured company, as well as making for decent photographers for our small group! The trek itself is manageable, as the guides will tell you, it is more of a mental test and taking things "pole pole" - slow and steady will get you to the top, while allowing you to enjoy the journey and some breathtaking views along the way! Finally to emphasise again, this is a locally based company with local employees. They provided our small group of three with a thoroughly enjoyable and unforgettable experience. I hope that spreading the word with this review, will go some way to repaying them for their hospitality and the fantastic memories which they have given to us.

I had a wish of climb Mount Kilimanjaro since I was a teenager, And my dreams came into realty after I met with Kilisa Tours & Safaris. The reason why I decided to choose them is because they had a good patient to me, and after talking to Naick my tour operator & designer he quickly understood what I wanted and offered me an idea of took the Lemosho route. This is because the rate of reaching the summit is 95%, because of it’s longer itinerary which allows better acclimatization, just a good level of fitness is recommended. From the starting point Kilisa Tours & Safaris was responsive through my Email, Arrivals, Pick up until the next day I began my Kilimanjaro trek through Lemosho route. The journey was incredible and together with the team I had was friendly & supportive. Through them and their encouragement they helped me keep pushing forward to the summit. Kilisa is a trustworthy local Kilimanjaro hiking agency. We communicated the tour with Naick in June, then later experienced many problems such as our flight was cancelled, postponed; other group mates couldn't arrive at Tanzania on time etc. But Kilisa still helped to make our tour happen. The staff Goodluck, Sirili, Amos and others all were very friendly and kind people, taking good care of me and my son along the whole trekking. The last day of trekking, when we arrived at their office late, my ears didn't work well maybe because the altitude descending, Naick helped me personally to call another local agency for the next day safari group tour and set up the good arrangement to save our time and effort (Kilisa didn't have safari group tour exactly the next day). He is really a nice guy worth to work with.
