          Near death experience
Started off good, but soon began to notice that the driver was doing things that I would consider a bit dangerous while driving on an open road in any case he ended up flipping the car at the last day. No one from the company reached out to see if we were OK do not book with them.

          Absolutely wonderful. Definitely recommend.
We could not have asked for a better tour. Our guide, Bismark and driver, Raul, were both excellent. The cars we reliable and comfortable and the sights we stopped at were simply stunning. The whole tour (11 of us plus 2 drivers and 1 guide) worked like clockwork. First nights accommodation was much better than expected with heating, hot water and good food. Second night was much more basic with no heating and patchy electrics but there was hot water and it was clean. Absolutely loved it and would highly recommend

Amazing tour of Uyuni with a great guide
We had a wonderful time with a very nice group. The landscape was incredible and everything was arranged perfectly. Our guide Ronaldo was amazing. He had a lot of information about every stop, and he was helpful, friendly and had great ideas to take a photo on the salt flats. Our driver Benjamin was great and safe. Highly recommended.

Great itinerary, could be much better executed…
The tour itself was amazing, especially the first 2 days where the views are unbelievable and you get to see, with no rush all the important landmarks. Our guide was clear with the explanations and helpful. Our driver Santos was amazing, every time the car had problems he promptly fixed it, even though the other car from our tour ingnored us and continued their journey… Our problems began the second night, where at dinner we weren’t given any water or any possibility to buy it (they served wine and not water…), even though other tours provided water on the other tables. The third day was very rushed with the only intent of arriving to uyuni earlier, they told us that we had 1h at the thermal baths and only got 15 minutes. So, when they say in the website that you arrive in Sao Pedro de Atacama at 13h, you actually rush through the morning activities and arrive around 10am. Overall the tour was good, but we understand all the mixed reviews we read beforehand.

          The best salt flats experience!
WOW! We had the most wonderful guide Ronaldo and sweetest drive José who gave us the most wonderful tour. They were so kind and Ronaldo should be a professional photographer in our opinion! We had a wonderful picnic lunch on the flats and made it to the reflected water for sunset. It was an incredibly special day and something I shall never forget. Gracias Ronaldito y José ❤️

**Avoid Perla de Bolivia at All Costs**
I had the unfortunate experience of booking a tour with Perla de Bolivia, and it was easily the worst travel experience of my life. The 4x4 vehicle we were provided with kept breaking down, leaving us stranded and frustrated. The accommodations were abysmal, with hostels lacking basic amenities such as electricity, warm water, toilet paper, and towels. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. To make matters worse, the entire tour was incredibly unorganized. It was clear that little thought had been put into the itinerary, and we were left feeling like we had wasted our money. I can not stress this enough - avoid Perla de Bolivia at all costs. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for their customers' well-being is unacceptable. Booked the 8pm departure tour and didn't leave till 1030pm. Booked small group 5 max people, but we had 6 on our 4x4s. Everything was a lie. Paid $365 when other paid as low as $120 and one person $180. Don't get fooled here.

          No cooperation
Due to a delayed bus, we did not make it to the excursion. Notified 14 hours before (24 hour cancellation limit) and wanted to change the day but it was not approved by the organizer. The trip was canceled without refund. Found another great organizer at half the price that can be highly recommended. Andes salt expeditions Tour operator. Their guide Cristian was fantastic.

Great tour to see what you need in 1 day!
This tour was fantastic to see everything you’d want in only a day. Out tour guides us when we arrived in Uyuni, and took us to all the stops on the tour. Our tour guide Lucio Blanco was well-informed and enthusiastic. He gave us the history of the area, as well as the best advice on which photos to take (including setting up many optical illusion photos!). We never felt rushed; we had plenty of time to see each stop. Overall, this tour was ideal to see as much as you can in Uyuni in 1 day. Would very much recommend.

          Great tour and guide
We had Juan Choque as a guide, went on a 2 days trip to Copacabana and Ia del Sol and everything was great. He is very knowledgeable and a very caring guide. Would go on another tour with him and this company.

          Knowledgeable, super fun. Amazing.
Superb! Daniel our guide and Koki our driver we’re superb! We had an amazing day. Daniel spoke great English and Koki was a very good driver. Daniel is an expert at getting great photos on the salt flats - so much fun. Lunch was excellent as was all the info about the trains, history of the mines, salt making and Incahuasi island too. Daniel even played the pipes and flute! Just outstanding. And the nibbles and wine at sunset just wrapped it all up nicely. Highly recommend.

          Uyuni beauty
It’s a beautiful must see if you’re in Uyuni. The one day tour meant we saw the train graveyard, the stunning salt flats, and a coral island inhabited by locals in years gone by. We had a delicious locally cooked lunch too, in a salt restaurant part way through the day. The tour guide Danny was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable of the cultural and geographical history. We finished the day watching the sunset with a glass of local wine. It was magnificent.

Didn't take us to the water
We asked our guide to take our group to the water, but he didn't. He said he will speak with driver, but still he didn't. He said there is no water, but i saw it from the distance and also other groups went to see the mirror effect at the same day. And we payed extra for a good english guided tour... His english wasn't enough good and also he didn't give us almost no information about the sights. I am very dissapointed.

We booked a 3 day / 2 night salt flat tour through Find Local Trips, and Perla de Bolivia was the operator they used. Be aware there is a lot of time spent driving - there’s no other way to cover such large distances. We made lots of different stops and we saw fantastic things including lagoons, flamingos, & volcanoes.

        What we liked:

        • The accommodation was better than expected - hot showers and warm beds with blankets.
        • The jeeps were comfortable with good, safe drivers and heaters for cold mornings.
        • It was easy to transfer to San Pedro de Atacama instead of going back to Uyuni.

        What we didn’t like:

        • We couldn’t get a response to our questions over email, and had to visit the office in-person instead.
        • The food was ok, but we would suggest bringing some of your own snacks too.
        • Some of the stops felt a bit rushed, we would only have 5-10 minutes before we had to get back in the car.
        • Our only genuine complaint was when our guide suggested that if nobody was looking, we could leave the path to get close to the flamingos for a photo. We would rather that they promote responsible tourism so that the animals aren’t disturbed and places don’t get ruined!

Day 1 over night bus to Uyuni was exceptionally good no issues yo report.
Day 2 tour to the salts lake was very good and the accomodation was basic but the hotel was warm eve though there was no heating, and it had hot water. There was no toilet paper or towels and no hand soap to wash hands in the toilets.
Day 3 the tour was great but the lunch was very bad. We were given very old food. I asked the people who were selling the coffee why we were given different food to other people on other tables , and he said to ask the driver of my your. But the worst thing was yet to come when we arrived to the accomodation. this place had plastic roof over the bedrooms, NO heating except in the dining room. It was extremely cold, high winds and very low temperatures. No toilet paper no towel was given, there was no hand soap to wash hands. The toilets were clean.
We got sick overnight with bad cold, everyone was sneezing and coughing the next day. no one slept due to the extreme cold weather. We were asked to pay for sleeping bags but these were basic type of bags, they were NOT thermal designed sleeping bags for this type of weather. I asked the woman at the hotel why we were deprived of the basic Items and she said that the Tour operators did not give them enough money to support the basic needs of the guest.
I find this to be very unfair to the hotel operators and the guest. We the customer pay a lot of money for this tour and we were promised the basic needs were going to be provided however this was not the case.
The accomodation on the second night is something no one should be experiencing it is dangerous for human health, it’s a mean thing to do , and horribly unpleasant. This hotel is not suitable for living people it is more suitable to be used as a morgue.

The trip was an experience with ups and downs! We booked the bus transfer from La Paz and Todo Turismo is an excellent bus company.
Unexpectedly, the travel agency picked us up from the bus station with the information that there were also free drinks in the office, just like at Todo Turismo. Instead we were taken to a restaurant, where we of course had to pay ourselves.
Shortly before the trip, our guide Danielle asked us if we had booked our bus tickets from the border to San Pedro in Chile. Short panic, of course the agency should do that for us. It did too, only our guide knew little about it or about the stargazing tour we had booked. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to rent rubber boots because there was no space in the car, but we would have needed them for the stargazing tour so that our feet wouldn't freeze off.
It started with a stop at a workshop because the hood was broken and had to be temporarily attached. Our guide only gave us the most necessary information and generally seemed rather bored and had little interest. We were allowed to rotate places in the car and the stops and nature itself were great!
Unfortunately we didn't wait until sunrise at the geysers, which was a real shame. The accommodations were better than expected and the food was very good and varied. The driver was responsible for providing the food, loading the luggage and generally having the most responsibility. Our driver Renaldo did a very, very good job! He also knew about the stargazing tour. However, there was a storm and there were no stars. We still had to pay, irresponsibly they would have let us drive into the wet salt lake during a thunderstorm - but we didn't want that.
A tour like this depends on the guide, he could and should have put in a lot more effort - other tours were much more fun. But the nature and the driver are definitely recommended!

Our recent 3 day tour to Salar de Uyuni tour was an absolute disaster. The entire experience was marred by shocking disorganization, blatant unprofessionalism, and a total lack of respect for paying customers.
We started late because our guide, Ronaldo, and the drivers couldn't be bothered to prepare properly. Further delays followed as they ran personal errands, wasting hours of our time and cutting into what should have been spent on the salt flats—the main reason we booked this tour (we didn't arrive to the salt flats until 3pm). The following day, the same pattern repeated: we were all ready at 7 a.m. as instructed, only to stand around for nearly an hour while Ronaldo and the drivers casually delayed us with no explanation, then mocked our frustration with comments about "Bolivian time."
A further example of their disrespectful and inconsiderate behavior was at one stop, we were told to be back at the cars by 11:05 a.m., but when we returned on time, Ronaldo and the drivers were nowhere to be found. After waiting 10 minutes, Ronaldo finally emerged from the café, looked at us all standing there, then turned and went back inside. It was completely disrespectful and infuriating. They kept us waiting even longer, lingering and chatting inside while we stood around, only to be told the drivers "had to eat." Every other guest in the group had finished eating on time and returned as instructed, so it was clear they were taking their time without regard for us. This rude, unprofessional behavior showed just how little they valued our time or experience.
On the final day, Ronaldo took money from each of us at the border for an unexplained "fee" (which we think he pocketed from himself), leaving us without our passports for ten minutes—a highly uncomfortable experience. Despite paying extra for a private room, we received the same accommodations as everyone else, with dirty facilities and no hot water, while the other group members hadn't paid the extra cost.
To make matters worse, when we raised these issues, the company denied everything and defended Ronaldo and the drivers, despite several people in our group complaining about the same problems. Their response was dismissive and full of blatant lies, showing a complete lack of accountability. This was by far the worst tour we've experienced in South America, turning an experience we'd looked forward to into a source of regret. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone, and I'm still waiting for meaningful response from the company.

Do NOT book this tour. It felt like we were on the tour guide’s holiday. The first day all 17 members of the group were waiting for over 30 minutes for the (late) tour guide and drivers to show up. We also then had to make personal stops for the drivers on the way to the salt flats, such as to pick up laundry. The second day, we left the hostel 45 minutes after we were told we’d leave, and again all 17 members of the group were sat around waiting for the tour guide and drivers. Later that day, we stopped at a viewpoint and were told we had until 11.05 to take photos and then be back at the cars. At 11.05, all 17 members of the group were stood in the car park waiting. 20 minutes later the guide saunters out of the cafe, sees us all and heads back in. Another member of the group went in to ask what the hold up was, and the guide simply told her to “relax, as we were on Bolivian time” - as if we all hadn’t paid $190 to be there. Furthermore, we were assured this company was the safest, and yet there were no seatbelts in the cars that were provided. We booked through findmylocaltrips.com but this is the company they use. Save your money and book with another company.

We loved our 3 day/2 night trip with perla de bolivia. Our guide Beto was great fun and was always on hand to answer questions and tell us about the area. Our driver Edwin was also an absolute pro for the whole trip and always in great mood.
The accommodation on the first night was excellent, individual salt huts with private bathrooms and hit showers. The second night was very basic but would recommend spending the extra $15 for a private room and bathroom.
While there is alot of driving involved the hot springs were a high point of the trip and the amazing wildlife. Would 100% recommend.

One of the best tours I have ever been on. We saw and did so much across the 3 days.
Our tour guide Ronaldo was professional and organised. He made sure we had adequate amount of time at each place and that we moved on when needed, without it feeling rushed or pressured. His English was great, his knowledge of each place was incredible abd his love for Bolivia was lovely to see.
Our drivers Raulacho and Santos porfidio did a great job of loading and unloading our stuff promptly and carefully. They were both safe and friendly drivers.
The food and drink provided was good and there were opportunities to pick up extra snacks and drinks along the way.
The first night accommodation was great and as expected, the 2nd night was a little more basic and cold, but extra blankets were offered and I rented a sleeping bag which did the job!

Good tour, but very VERY cold.
My favorite part of the trip was the salt flats, seeing flamingos and the geysers.
Was disappointed to find out the the red and green lagoon is only "red" when the sun is really shining and the "green" lagoon is only green when it's really windy. I was most excited about the red lagoon, which I ended up being very disappointed about. Obviously they can't control the weather, but thats just my two sents.
We felt that our accommodations were really cheap for what we paid, it was FREEZING. No heat at all. The high altitude made it very windy & cold. Seeing as we are backpacking, we didn't really have enough layers to wear. You also have to pay extra for a sleeping bag (50 bs). The accommodations do come with thick blankets but the sleeping bag was also necessary.
Our guide & drivers were all very nice though! Meals were pretty good, they mostly serve American style food- would have liked local food instead as we are there for an adventure.
Unfortunately our vehicle on the first day had a flat tire which was changed, eventually. Seemed like they lacked preparation as they had to fill up their gas tank as we were heading to the train graveyard. Our first driver fell ASLEEP while driving through the salt flats which was scary- weaving back and fourth, could have been a near miss. Inside the vehicle it smelt like fumes which added to the headaches. Luckily that driver & vehicle was changed without our request. Personally I was disappointed with the trip.
Again, the guide and drivers from the 2nd and 3rd day were great 5/5 to them. The tour 3/5.

Hi Shannon, we appreciate your feedback. Please let us know, First: who rent you the sleeping bags in 50 BOB??? ALL THE SLEEPING BAGS ARE FREE IN PERLA DE BOLIVIA. Second, When did you take the tour? do you remember the name of your driver? It is NOT allowed to sleep during working time, we are going to sanction him and Tour Guide, if its true, A big SANCTION. About FREEZING yes, we are in winter, if you look for more information about Uyuni Salt Flats you can see that those months are really cold and everybody recommend bring more jackets. for that reason, we give free sleeping bags. Kind Regards.

We had the best 3 days on the tour! Our tour guide Saul was knowledgeable and passionate about the landscapes we were shown. His informative speeches on the flora and fauna really made the tour.

Our driver MarrĂn was an absolute professional and very sweet; he made the long drives so enjoyable and fun.

Despite the occasional bit of car trouble (to be expected on the dirt roads) it was a fantastic few days.

We have spent 3 days and 2 nights at Salar de Uyuni with Perla de Bolivia. Our booking experience was very seamless and the tour itself was very enjoyable. The sights we visited were some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. We were total of two cars, both filled with 6 people. Our drivers were very good but didn't speak any english. Our english speaking guide Eli was very nice although not very personable. He didn't even remember our names at the end of the tour which is very disappointing. Other than that, he was very knowledgeable and the whole tour was timed perfectly. We were never rushed and had enough time to see all the sights and take plenty of photos. The vehicles that we used on the tour were very old, the tires were run down, no A/C, windows were not working and on top of that the 4x wheel drive was not working. We got stuck once in the salt flats and it took few hours for the other car to fetch rope and other necessities to get the other car out. It was surprising to see that they didn't have any needed equipment with them.
The places we stayed overnight were fine, 1st night was nice and warm salt hotel, 2nd was cold hostel but it was not too bad. The food that was served during lunch and dinners was pretty good. We even got sparkling wine for Christmas dinner and red wine for sunset on the Salt Flats. All and all, with too many providers, it is necessary to pick the right one. I think Perla is doing good job, but could definitely do better with servicing their vehicles and making sure the drivers carry proper equipment on the trips in case of emergency.
