About
The top of the island is a place with privileged views, so it has an important flow of tourists at the usual times. We offer to ride to the highest of the island at sunset, a time when you will feel that there is no one but you on the whole island. Silence is part of the natural spectacle. And to get there, we ride in the middle of the forest and meadows, where it is very difficult to bump into other people. A feeling of being in the middle of the wild, revives the soul of the island.

        Incredible experience
My husband and I are very experienced horse riders and this was the highlight of our week at Easter Island. We bought our tickets through Tripadvisor with no problems. The horses are safe and sure-footed and the saddles are comfortable. Guide Tonchi speaks excellent English and is responsive to Whatsapp messages. He will tailor the ride to what you want - a gallop the countryside or leisurely ride to take in the scenery. We rode around the Terevaka area and northern part of the island, through eucalyptus forest, huge grass pastures of cows and horses, and along sweeping scenery of the coast. It was absolutely breathtaking. We finished the ride into the sunset and under the stars of the night, where the horses took us home in total darkness. I will never forget this experience.

A must do trip on Rapa Nui
Such a fantastic trip- we’re still talking about it days later. Tonchi and Alice were really welcoming and the location is stunning. We rode up to the highest point of the island with uninterrupted views. It was amazing! The horses were really calm, Tonchi gave us lots of advice as beginners but the trip was really relaxed and fun and suitable for all abilities. This was a highlighted of our holiday.

Top 2 Things In Rapa Nui: Moai, This Tour
This was the best thing I've done in travel all over South America. Rapa Nui is beautiful. Guides are smart, know what they're doing, and know their history. I'll be back :-)

        Amazing and beautiful adventure!
Horseback riding with 'Adventure Terevaka' was an immediate highlight of an already incredible trip to Rapa Nui / Easter Island, and I'd highly recommend signing up for your own adventure. We recently booked a day-trip with fairly short notice, during the Tapati Rapa Nui, and the experience was seamless and stress-free. Alice (so friendly, kind and helpful) picked up us from our hotel promptly and took us on a short drive to the beautiful Adventure Terevaka grounds, where we met Tonchi, who would be our guide for the trip. My friend and I had some basic experience horseback riding, but Tonchi was helpful and answered all of our questions, many just about local life on the island, as we took the ride to the top of Mount Terevaka. The horses were very well cared for - Tonchi is especially affectionate and caring to them and they even lead the way for most of the trip, knowing the best trail to get to the top! At the top, we had as much time as we wanted to explore the peak and then plant trees Tonchi had brought with him, as he explained what they were and how they fit in with the local environment. Overall, the experience was maybe 2-3 hours, always safe and fun. I can't wait to return another time for the nighttime moon-lit adventure. Thank you Tonchi + Alice for your hospitality and kindness. Good luck on your future expansions and rides and congratulations for your awesome business! - Dave.

        Horseback ride to sunset view
The horses were very tame. The view was spectacular. Riding horses back in the dark (it was cloudy) is something that I will never forget. We had a great time. Pick up tunes vary with sunset times. Check your trip advisor messages or confirm a couple of days in advance, so you know when you will be picked up.

        Plant a tree
Was picked up and taken to the beautiful property that this company has right off of the national park. We were introduced to our horses, what kind of trees we were going to be planting, and then headed out. The steadily rising trail through eucalyptus forest was great, then the second half brought us out to wide expanse and great views. Our guide and company owner told us about the importance of replanting trees and the oral tradition theories about what happened to them in the first place. Bring a jacket and hat because it's quite windy up at the top, with 360 degree views! We each got to plant a tree. Spent some time taking pics. Great time. He also has a sunset ride that is popular for obvious reasons, but we wanted to give back to the island that hosted us for 4 days. Go check it out!

        Great horse ride
Owner (Tonte) picked us up at hotel right on time and took us to his property. He spoke English very well and was great conversation the entire journey. Horses were very well behaved, and the trail was not frightening at all. The ride was about 1/3 thru the forest then we were in the open spaces, so you got to see both kinds of scenery. You get in the clouds on the very top of the mountain, but they pass thru and you have a view in any direction at any given time. Not a horse person by nature but this was a fantastic experience, I highly recommend.

Best Day ! Fun Day .. really mother nature? Amazing group of people AMAZING TIME
What can I say we got super delayed getting to the island and had 1 day ! on the island we did this as our only excursion. Not knowing much about it I did not know what to expect .. Myself and my 13 year old got picked up promptly at the hotel the ride to the ranch was quick and easy and we were on our way shortly with our guide who was amazing ! My 13 yo was not the most experienced so she went at OUR pace which was amazing.. We were told to bring jackets due to the wind.. mother nature had different plans for us we went from sunshine to wind to fog to crazy rain to more fog back to sunshine .. We planted the trees in the pouring rain and IT WAS AMAZING ... just roll with it ! And let your horse guide you .. When we go back this will be on my list to do again.. with extra clean clothes in tow :o) they even swung us by the post office on the way back as we had no idea where it was and how to get there !! .. Give this company a chance they just started on Trip advisor !! And hey guys ! Change your title still !! It should read Horseback riding to the highest point of Easter Island and leave your mark by planting a tree!! or something like that ! LOL Miss you all see you soon !! Natalie

        Wonderful
Booked the sunset trip for our last night on the Island . Picked up by Tonchi and Alice from our hotel with 15 - 20 minute ride to stables in a fabulous woodland clearing. Lovely healthy looking horses and new saddles Our guide was Maca who was lovely . Very attentive to my wife who was a little nervous . Nice chat but she did not talk incessantly like some annoying guides . Instead , she let the forest and views speak for themselves. The view from the top was beautiful as was the sunset . My wife remarked later she wanted to cry it was so magical . Fabulous horses , amazing guide and spectacular views Would I go back? Absolutely

Totally Amazing, DO NOT MISS THIS!
We were picked up by Alice from the hotel and although Alice didn’t speak much English we managed to understand that we were being taken to the ranch where Tonchi, our guide would be there and who spoke fluent English. We settled back and enjoyed the trip through the forest to the little homestead where Tonchi was preparing the horses. Instantly you appreciate the passion Tonchi has for this venture. His English is great and he explained what the tour involved, we had picked the sunset tour to the highest point of the island and as we set off Tonchi talked about life on the island and his love for its people and culture. The horses are amazing very well behaved and easy to ride so good for all ages and abilities. The tour takes about 1 hour to the top of the mountain and then you sit and watch the sunset, it is true truly magical with a 360 degree view of the island. The colours against the clouds is amazing and the vie breathtaking. Photos do not do it justice it is something you need to experience. As you ride back down under the stars which are so incredibly bright without any light pollution, it is time to reflect on a wonderful journey one which I will never forget.

Highlight of our trip to Easter Island!
This is my very first tripadvisor review. I've been to more than 50 cities in 20 different countries over the past 7 years and this is the first experience that I really really want to share with other people. My wife and I went on a 5 or so hour horseback riding tour of the North Coast with Tonchi in October and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Chile and Easter Island. There is no other way to discover this isolated part of the island other than on foot or by horse. There’s no “real” trail and you just take the horses in a direction you see fit. Tonchi is great company and we learned a lot about the island and his life. He was easy to communicate with before the day arrived and for the time we were with the horses, it felt like we were the only people on the island. Although he may be new to tripadvisor, Tonchi has a lot of experience with horses and giving tours. There’s several different options for horseback riding for people of all riding levels. Visiting Easter Island is already an amazing trip in itself, but seeing a quieter part of the island was such an experience and I recommend it to everyone!

        Excellent experience
Excellent tour, it is one of those travel experiences that you have recorded and will never forget. We take the sunset tour through Terevaka, from the highest part you can fully appreciate the island and the ocean around; It is an excellent instance of connection with nature and animals. Totally recommended the guide is very close and friendly, horses are very well cared for, calm and patient.

Great way to explore Rapa Nui
We booked the North Coast tour with Tonchi and loved every minute of it! Tonchi is super friendly, patient and passionate about his island and culture. We learned so much thanks to him. The sceneries were absolutely stunning and it felt like we were all alone in the world. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Everyone goes to see the Moais on the island, but this horseback ride was truly the highlight of the trip. The owner and his wife are so personable and gracious. While the sunset was beautiful, the unexpected highlight was the ride down Terevaka through the forest with the incredible stars overhead. SO MANY STARS! It was like glitter in the air. What I really like is that there were only three people in our group. The horses are well cared for and in good shape. I like this tour so much, I contemplated taking it a second time and I recommended the tour to others during my stay. Two Thumbs Up!

Decided to do this tour last minute. It was a good decision. I never rode a horse before but they made sure I was comfortable and safe. They are very professional. Clicked our pictures as well while our hands were busy riding the horse. The saddles were brand new and comfy. As I'm an ardent animal lover and against exploiting animals for pleasure, for me it was a relief to see that all the horses were healthy and were treated with such love and care.

This is one of the highlights of our trip, sign up for this! My husband and I are very experienced horse riders, but this trail ride is suitable for any level rider, including those with no horse experience at all. The horses are incredibly safe and sure-footed, the saddles comfortable and guide Tonchi was very welcoming and helpful for folks with no horse experience. Tonchi's English is excellent and he is very responsive to Whatsapp messages. This trail ride takes you through a eucalyptus forest, beautiful fields past herds of cows and horses, and offers sweeping views of the countryside and coast. At the top of Terevaka, we dismounted to take pictures at the highest point of the island at Terevaka then sat and watched the sunset. The ride back to the stables into the sunset and under the stars of night was absolutely stunning. It was such a memorable experience. I bought my tickets through Tripadvisor with no problems. I highly recommend this.
