About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Ann L0 contributionsI give this ten stars! From the coach leaving the departure point exactly on time to getting back to Malaga before 4pm, the day ran as smooth as clockwork. Our guide, Esmerelda, was lovely. Very knowledgeable, and her passion for the Caminito shone through. The scenery itself was spectacular. Every corner brought another beautiful view. The walk was long, but not difficult, although I didn’t love the bridge near the end! Altogether a fantastic experience, which we would do again. Can’t recommend highly enough.Written February 9, 2025
- donnamC1436TZ0 contributionsExcellent and well organised day out.Excellent day out. Highly recommend this well organised trip and experience . You do need to be able to walk on flat surfaces for a good few hours including some narrow steps and stairs. The radio ear phones and personal group guide read adds extra info and makes the day extra enjoyable.Written February 8, 2025

- PBarbican0 contributionsFantastic tour , highly recommend. The tour was fantastic and is really one I would recommend if you are in the Malaga area. The coach collected us at 0925 and it was a pleasant airconditioned ride to Caminito. The guide " Luis " was very informative and entertaining speaking English the whole time. At the end of the tour there is about half an hour to have a drink and snack then straight back to Malaga.Written January 28, 2025
- dorothywoods0 contributionsDon't be put off by reports of scary heights. It's easy!Luis, our guide, was so welcoming and enthusiastic he really made the good trip great. His English is excellent as are his communication skills. He gave us a good summary of the history and flora and fauna of this lovely protected park. The walk was easy and not as scary as many descriptions make you believe. A highly recommended trip with the added value of ease of travel and the quality of the guideWritten January 27, 2025

- m_deufemia0 contributionsUtmost natural beauty site at one hour bus from MalagaWe did the one-day visit of Caminito del Rey organized from Malaga by Viages Pareja Tours. The visit of the Caminito del Rey is of utmost beauty for its natural canyons, its flora and fauna. Unfortunately our tour with bus put together around 60 peoples with only two guides. Some explanation about the tour were given during the 1 hour bus trip to join the entrance of the Caminito. Then, every visitor was alone during the visit -without audio guide- and in particular no stop was possible to admire flora and fauna as there were a huge number of visitors and a limited number of guides.. This visit should be organized with smaller groups of max 10 people and the guide should dedicate some time to explain the beauty ( history, flora, fauna etc) of this unique place in the South of Spain.Written January 26, 2025
- 423mz0 contributionsGreat nature, great guide Luis👍What a day...it was a museum day as our guide Luis said😉. It was really a great day, great nature. I would recomend it to everyone. Luis is really a great guide with a lot interesting informations and tips, BRAVO👍. Thank you for such an adventure day.Written January 23, 2025

- Jessica C0 contributionsAMAZING Caminito Del ReyINCREDIBLE! Caminito Del Rey is probably one of the most stunning excursions I’ve ever done. I’d recommend to anyone - unless you’re scared of heights. However, there was someone on our tour who was a bit nervous at first but she even said she felt safe on the footpath. Our tour guides Luis and Maria were fab. Everything was so well organised and the transfer there and back was only 45 minutes from Malaga city centre.Written January 19, 2025

The tour company were very professional and enthusiastic. Our guide Esmeralda promoted the history of the Caminito but also gave us so much insight into its natural flora and fauna. That a trip to the Sunshine Coast in January could be as successful with 13 sunny days as this one was is hard to believe. Nerja is a genuine little town with many nice local streets and many nice views.
We had half board at Riu Monica and the hotel had listened to my requests so we got a quiet room on the 6th floor. The view was magnificent partly over the mountains and partly over the sea with amazing sunrises. We had the balcony door open and fell asleep to the noise of the waves. The room was clean and comfortable. The cleaning was completely unremarkable. Tip... bring your own pillow.
There were 4 small elevators but one was out of order. There was room for 4 so there was some waiting.
The outdoor pool was not heated and it was colder than the sea according to legend. There was a nice indoor pool but unfortunately no bathrobes to rent so it was a bit tedious to swim. The gym was disappointing. Three antique machines with weight ranges of 3 kg!!! However, there were 2 bikes and a treadmill and dumbbells. Unfortunately a little too hot for training.
The dining room was huge and there were many guests at the hotel so there were some clashes and the noise level was high. There were places outside but sometimes on the coldest team. However, the staff was very caring and often helped with window tables.
There was a lot of food and sometimes difficult to choose. We would have preferred a few more themed nights. No omelettes to order. Cava was served on Sundays.
2 nights we ate in the hotel's a la carte restaurant free of charge. There was a big difference.
Entertainment was nothing new, if you know what I mean. At reception, the few receptionists were polite but there was no time for any longer conversation.
We made a trip to the caves outside Nerja and to Frigiliana a village up in the mountains that was really nice.
If possible, I will gladly return to Riu Monica and Nerja.

Pick up was very prompt at all stops.
Upon arrival at Caminito del Rey and given our compulsory safety wear, we were all given the option to walk with our tour guide (Luis) or walk it ourselves at our own pace.
We decided to stay with Luis, as we do tend to walk quickly and we didn't want to finish too early or miss anything. At total of about 14 people on our coach chose to do the same and it was a good decision.
We walked at a perfect pace and Luis gave us details about the history and points of interest. We even found out that the railway line is still in use today, being the Malaga to Seville route, as well as how the earth plates were so different in each gorge (three in total). There were plenty of photo opportunities and Luis offered several times to take pictures of each group.
A few friends have commented that Caminito del Rey's walkways look very high. I can reassure you that I was never aware of being that high up at any stage, you were walking on solid ground between walkways.
Towards to end of the walk, Luis showed us a red peppercorn tree and we could even try the peppercorns, which we would have missed otherwise.
At the end of the walk we still had plenty of time of get a drink and look at the merchandise.

Absolutely wonderful. Really simple pickup, travel and drop-off which made the day so accessible. The guides were so friendly and positive and made it so enjoyable, they gave so much great information about the area which really added to the experience. The walk itself was breath-taking and a real gem, it was so beautiful and I would 110% recommend to everybody visiting the area.

The Caminito del Rey is extremely spectacular and was well worth the trip. Although the bus ride from Nerja was a bit long, it was compensated by the fact that we travelled in an air-conditioned modern bus, and our guide filled the time with many interesting information about the history and features of the place, and also explained many interesting facts about the Costa del Sol area. And all this in four languages. Once inside the Caminito del Rey, we were able to walk at our own pace, and there was enough time to enjoy the views and take plenty of photos, all the while having our 9 year old with us. All in all, we can highly recommend this company! This trip was one of the highlights of our vacation on Costa del Sol.

Really enjoyed this trip. Even though the journey was quite long from Nerja our guide Luis was very entertaining and informative and our driver Emelio made the trip smooth and relaxing. Caminito was fabulous! A must see place in Spain and having our guide made all the difference as we learned so much. Lovely kiosks at the end of the walk selling nice food , drinks and snacks that were not overpriced. A great experience.

Are you planning a daytrip,
decide to go with Pareja tours!
Today we went to the Caminito del Rey. The pick up was perfect on time and very close to our appartment. We had a warm welcome by Esmeralda the host/guide.
The caminito was amazing!
Everything was organized in detail. Esmeralda is an enthousiastic and very friendly host/guide with great language skills in englisch, german and spanish. She was well prepared and had an eye on every single guest. During the walk she gave us a lot of extra information about the history of the Caminito del Rey and the region.
Thanks again for the amazing day. For sure we will return traveling with Viajes Pareja Tours in future.

The El Caminito del Rey walk was spectacular! The only downside for us was the 3 hour coach journey to get there from Nerja. The trip was listed as a 1 hour journey from Nerja with 3 pick ups in total. In actuality, there were 6 or 7 pick ups the last one being Malaga and then it was 1 hour to El Caminito. The guides were very friendly and helpful. All in all we are very glad we have done the walk but probably wouldn’t have booked knowing we would spend 6 hours on the coach.

Really enjoyable trip and well worth the visit. Tour guides Luis and Esmeralda were excellent and really informative from start to finish. The walk itself was really dramatic and although we were among other walkers you could still get the image of the original path.
