About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- omfarrell20150 contributionsWorth a DetourThe food is so good - flavoursome sandwiches, great coffee, excellent cakes - we visited the Greenway Cafe three times in one week on our recent holiday. I think that says it all!Written May 22, 2024
- mbnaas0 contributionsDelicious lunch! We had the most delicious lunch at the Greenway Arts Cafe. Everything we ate was amazing and so thoughtfully constructed. We ate outside overlooking a beautiful view Mayo and had the freshest, tastiest lunch with all 6 of us agreeing that we would be back again soon!!Written May 4, 2024
- rn5110 contributionsAwesome caféAwesome breakfast and lunch. Seriously recommend the pancakes, and Italian sandwich - and the hot chocolate, and the crossiant...ok, all of it!Written August 26, 2023
- Kramernic0 contributionsWorth the detour for coffees and bitesReally lovely place off the Greenway, and well worth the very short detour if you’re on the bikes. We used the Greenway Lane cafe to coax our reluctant kid to ‘keep cycling!’, and he was delighted with their brownie and a cold can of soda. Americanos were lovely, served with a smile from the owner, and presentation of the food was truly wonderful. I enjoyed a lovely chat with artist Maureen whose cool artworks display all around. Family friendly, lots of space, bathroom that was spotless, and a great choice of treats many of which are gluten-free.Written July 1, 2023
- jadecK782KX0 contributionsBeautiful!Such a beautiful niche experience with my mam! We made friends and would definitely be back again! The afternoon tea afterwards was just divine and such a treat! I felt very lucky to be in a room with such creative women :)Written April 15, 2023
- Gtdsavjytionc0 contributionsChildren’s ClassesThis beautiful converted cottage into art studio is a wonderful place to explore your artist side. My children loved the classes with Maureen as she introduced them to different materials, ideas and taught them about different artists. I can’t recommend this place enough. I look forward to doing the acrylic workshop myself. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Written January 28, 2020
- Philidelphia120 contributionsWould HIGHLY reccomend this studio to any artists who would like to try something new in the world of art.In regards to how i found myself at Greenway Lane studio in Newport, Mayo - I had been searching online to see if anyone was teaching the new technique of Acrylic Pour which i'd seen so much about, through websites, instagram and was fascinated. This is (as of January 2020) the only place that offers lessons/workshops in this sepcific medium. The workshops that are for Acrylic Pour are on most saturdays, begin at 10am and finish around 4pm. All of your materials are provided for and it only costs 35 euros for the whole day. You're taught how to prepare and mix the paints, the ratios needed, materials and liquids required. She teaches you what sort of canvases and structures that can hold the Acrylic Pouring technique. What you'll cover in the Workshops Throughout the workshops you learn each of the different techniques and things that you can do with the pouring, be it the Swipe's, the Dutch Pour, the open Cup, the Dirty Pour and many others. Typically you might do two of the beginners workshops before moving onto an advanced but you can take the workshops at your own pace. Great Value for Money It's incredibly great value, 35 euros for six whole hours of guidance, lessons and information about the art and its construction, the things that you can pour onto & pretyt much everything you'd like to know. And this cost includes an incredibly decadant and delicious Afternoon Tea. Full of Pots of tea and coffee, little cakes, muffins, sandwiches and snacks. There are Private Workshops / One on One Workshops should you wish to do as such and can find a day that best suits you and the studio. Due to the nature of the workshop it is more expensive, but worth it to have the entire class tailored to you, what techniques you'd like to try, having ahnds on help and guidance throughout the day. Getting there Depending on where you live in Ireland, this can be a nice short breezy drive or a challenging and lengthy trip. I'm from Dublin and from my house - door to door) it takes around 3hr 16mins. From Galways City it's only 1hr 30mins. From Limerick it's 2hr 30mins. From Cork its a 3hr 44min, and from Belfast it clocks in at about 4hr 5mins and lastly it's exactly half of the prior at only 2hr 20mins. Overall I cannot recommend this sutdio and Marueen O' Neill, no matter the medium or type of art, more often than not - if you can name it she'll teach it!The one's i can remember, and therefore list, are general acrylic painting, acrylic pour, oils, kids Art classes, portfolio prep for students applying to art schools etc... Lastly, on the drive downn from most counties you'll happen accross art that has been embedded into the sides of the road (hence the guitar)*Written January 27, 2020
