Unbelievable, an amazing experience with a great and knowledgeable driver and photographer that made everything so worth it. Being able to download the photos of a professional photographer a huge bonus.

      disappointing as a winter activity
so the day was -14 with wind chill, had to get changed outside in the elements, very difficult with freezing extremities to put the gear on, the staff did help but we were so cold we could not enjoy the experience. the walk and wait to enter the water was long.......the actual water itself was warmer than outside so we did not feel this whilst snorkelling although the suit leaked a bit so kept getting cold flushes up my arms (totally wet arm clothing) and down my neck. the actual Silfra was cool to see but the photos we got were awful, close ups so could have been anywhere, blurred so could have been anyone, quite disappointed as not going to get the chance to do this again and after the photos ive seen on here tehy were not good at all. the walk back from the Silfra to the carpark was even longer than the original walk as you have to walk the length of the Silfra on top....... again -14 so by the time we got to get changed our suits were actually frozen solid so could not get them off!, pulled chunks of my hair out whilst helping me remove the hood part of the dry suit and it froze with icicles. I know this should have been a cool experience but better to do this in summer months as I found it quite painful and mostly uncomfortable at this time of year.

Francesco was a 5 Star Guide
Me and my wife had a great time snorkeling with Francesco. We showed up about 15 minutes late due to horrible driving conditions, but he took the time to get us dressed up quickly and fit us into the schedule. I'm so glad he did. He made for a fantastic and memorable experience, and we had an awesome time. Thank you so much, Francesco, for doing this for us! Can't wait to come back and visit again!

Once in a lifetime experience in -6C temperatures
Our guide Fede was amazing, always checking in with us and making sure we were ok. The fissure itself is stunningly beautiful and peaceful. 100% must-see when in Iceland. My only concern is getting us to strip down to thermals and socks to get dressed into dry suit outside in the snow/ice whilst it’s -6C was pretty traumatic. Particularly when we then had to sit around for 15min waiting for the backlog of groups to go through for our turn. I have never been that cold in my life and my fingertips/toes still ache/tingle days later. Having a basic structure to get changed in, and wait if necessary, would make this a 5-star experience.

Stunning Aurora on a crisp night with excellent forecast
Our guide was amazing and pumped up the vibes despite the -14C temperature. Hot cocoa was much needed. Aurora was beautiful. However, I did think they would take us further out of the city during the 4hrs to avoid the light pollution. We had 3 photos taken: a nice one, a silly one, an extra one. But only 2 were posted, and the silly one was the only one with a nice Aurora. I would suggest posting all photos taken and let the guests choose if they like them or not rather than deleting and not posting photos that the guest knows were taken. If we had known some were deleted, we would have had more photos taken. I liked that they don’t proceed with the tour if it looks like the lights won’t be seen at all.

Beautiful landscapes tainted by a bad guide
Landscapes are awesome, but experience was impacted by driver/guide aggressive driving and unkindness. Felt very unsafe on the car with her, we got to drive from the geysers to the volcano crater with the bus door not fully closed - it even fully opened on the road (regardless of us complaining about it). And, when we got to the volcano she tried to persuade us not to go see it. Her name was Anastasia and due to her the experience on our honey moon was not as good as it should have been. I recommend being careful upon getting in her car.

Great guide through a breathtaking experience
We were on our honey moon trip and happy to find such an amazing guide at one of our most expected activities. Fede was great - so mindful of the whole group’s experience and safety always checking how everyone was doing, leading the way and registering our experience in the most kind way.

Really enjoyed snorkelling once in a lifetime experience. Really helpful and friendly guides. Only one complaint getting changed outside in the cold was Baltic. Some changing facilities would make it 5 star

      Top tour with Isamar
What a fantastic experience, even in the freezing cold was good fun. Our guide, Isamar really made the experience extra special, she was super upbeat, knowledgeable and really made the whole trip. The whole set up is really well managed with great instructions. Don’t bother taking your phone it’s unnecessary and even in a waterproof cover impossible to use with the types of gloves you have to wear and anyway the team take a bunch of photos at the start, during and at the end of the tour. The snorkelling itself is fun, the water is crystal clear and although not tons of marine life to see the whole experience was really good fun. Would definitely recommend especially if you can get on a tour with Isamar.

      Awesome tour
Iceland is beautiful. We took the 2 Day - South Coast, Ice Cave, Skaftafell & Jokulsarlon Ice Lagoon. It was a unique experience. The crystal cave tour was wonderful. Mr. B was awesome in helping me to climb up and down the cave safely. Big thanks to his kindness. The hotel accomodation had an attached bathroom. Breakfast was awesome. Skogafoss Waterfall, crystal cave, glacier lagoon and diamond beach were really wonderful and unique landscape. The tour stopped at convenient locations which had free bathrooms and good food options. It was a memorable trip. We only missed the northern lights as the activity was low when we visited.

      What an experience
Thank you for the wonderful experience! Our tour guide Hjalti was an absolut expert. As a local, he knows the icelandic culture and shared all of his knowledge with the group. We were relieved that we didn't had to drive ourselves in the harsh conditions, but the guide was an excellent driver and managed it very well. The stops and excursions we made on the tour were just perfect. Although we had not much daylight, we did manage to do all of the stops with enough time to explore the beautiful nature of the island. If you want to get a good overview of Iceland with some great background information from a local, you should book the tour.

Our driver Lili was the best! Not only she kept us informed and humoured, she taught us to pronounce Eyjafjallajökull correctly! We were on time to start our activity at Vik.

A short but sad story about how the organizer behaves.
Me: I love Iceland, I love ice, take my money
Arctic Adventures: Got your money, come to see the ice
    China: *sneezes loudly *
Me: I still love Iceland, but planes don’t fly, let's move the tour
Arctic Adventures: no problem, pay the same amount, we will refund the money for the previous tour in 6 weeks
Me: Well, the situation is complicated, I believe you, here is another one payment
Me: More than 8 weeks have passed, the money haven't come back
Arctic Adventures: We stopped all returns, waiting for help from the government
    Epilogue:
I understand that the entire tourism industry is in a difficult situation. It’s not your fault that a chineese bat sneezed at someone. I do not ask to return all my money, I ask to return money just for the first failed trip.
Still love Iceland and ice, but cold to Arctic Adventures

We had a lot of trouble deciding which ice cave tour to do as we couldn't see a lot of up to date (or positive) reviews with actual feedback on the caves themselves. We therefore booked the one that most suited us for time and place etc and hoped for the best based on the older review. Let me tell you, I'm glad we booked this particular tour. We had a very comfortable and luxurious feeling superjeep. Our guide, Axel, was very funny and very informative. We had a great time chatting to him and he answered all of our questions.

The guide explained to us that they have access to a couple of caves, and the one they take you to depends on the weather conditions at the time. The day we went, was extremely windy, so there was only one cave saefly accessible to us. Unfortunately, this meant it was also the safest for most of the other groups visting at that time, so it was very busy and crowded. Despite this, the groups all operate on a first in first served manner, so we would wait outside for the group in front to finish before entering. This is a good system as it allows the smaller groups time to themselves and opportunities for photos etc without people absolutely everywhere, however it also means there is a bit of waiting time between seeing things. Axel kept us entertained with information about the glacier and the ice, and you're still in a moulin while waiting so it's still beautiful and interesting.

The caves themselves are now more of a series of moulins and a small cave, not like what's pictured in the guide photos. However, this isn't unexpected as the caves are completely up to mother nature and different every year. It's an overall really cool experience and we really enjoyed it. My partner and I would recommend this to anyone on the fence!

Our lead guide Fannar was awesome. He surprised our group with a new cave route that the other tours weren't doing that week. While the caves do change every season, what was different with this route was that since other tours weren't visiting it, we felt like we had the entire cave to ourselves. We even had the chance to walk across the glacier (which from my understanding wasn't initially part of the plan) and explore the area.

Honestly this was the hightlight of my trip to the south coast of Iceland. The caves are absolutely amazing and the top of the glacier is like you're on a different planet. For those who are hesitant about the hike: it's really easy (no hills), we are provided crampons and a helmet for safely walking on top of the ice and in the cave, we travelled at a very slow pace and the hike was really more like a 10-15min walk from the shuttle (which this is while we are already on top of the glacier so you don't feel like you are walking to get to the event - you are already exploring the landscape).

I want to again shoutout Fannar for he definitely has a lot of experience in this area and can answer any questions you may have. He's very passionate about making sure everyone has a great time and feels safe too. He provided a lot of insight into the how the landscape is formed and makes it very interactive (he cut into the glacier to show us the layers of ice and how clean it is below the surface). He also gave us a great recommendation for a dinner in Reykjavik (Tapas barinn) which was awesome.

Definitely would go again if given the chance!

No trip to this awe inspiring country would be complete without touring an ice cave. Björk (w/ Arctic Adventures) was our guide for the Crystal Cave and we couldn't have been with anyone more suited to walk us through the experience. She was not only incredibly knowledgable about the cave and surrounding area but helped us try to pronounce some Icelandic, not to mention she drove like a boss! She even stopped us at a rushing creek to drink some of the best glacial water in Iceland. She really was the 'Queen of the Ice Cave'. The Cave itself was out of this world, Björk pointed out details we would have overlooked in the ice and made sure we all got our photos - just a great trip in general. This experience alone was worth coming to Iceland in the Winter! Can't miss!

Also, we very much enjoyed that the meeting place for the tour gave us easy access to the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach once we were all finished. Don't forget to stop for Fish N Chips after your tour! That dude was an artist at his craft. Definitely the best Fish N Chips we had in Iceland, and that's a tall order!

We had an amazing time on the Glacier Lagoon tour. Our guide was knowledgeable funny and helpful.

The timing of the whole tour was spot on. The meeting point is a very short distance to the caves. From there the guide navigated the “off road” big tired vehicle closer to the cave (Felt like you were rolling on the moon in a rover!) then a short walk to the cave entrance. You spend a good amount of time in the cave itself. Then walk back and back into the truck. Our guide was able to share insights on how the cave is formed year to year and how the guides all work together to map out the caves.

The small group format made it easy to see each section of the caves in detail. (We had 11 ppl in our van with the one guide, whereas we saw other tour companies had closer to 20 guests per guide.)

We loved every minute and would highly recommend this tour to friends.

The guide was absolutely lovely and informative. The journey was quite exciting at points as you’re in a superhero that seems to be able to drive over everything. Maybe it’s because we went in November but the cave wasn’t really very big, nothing like it looks in the brochure. It was still good and we enjoyed it but it’s quite disappointing if you’re expecting it to be like the promotional photos. At £130 each it was hard not to feel a bit ripped off.

Dear Stacey G, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. We are sad to hear the cave did not meet your expectations. We can assure you that our website pictures are up to date. However, it is worth mentioning, that appearance of an ice cave is greatly influenced by such factors as the daylight and overall weather conditions. We sincerely hope you had a great experience in Iceland and we'll see you again on one of our adventures.

My wife and I took this tour on our honeymoon. It was possibly the coolest experience we've ever had. We explored Breiðamerkurjökull (still cannot pronounce). It was truly like we were on another planet, the landscape was unreal. Bjork was a fantastic guide and extremely knowledgable. She told us all about the glacier and it's history while keeping the tour fun and exciting.

It is a lifetime experience you must do in your life. Our guide, Bjork was entertaining and informational. She is great behind the wheels taking us through the rough terrains. She clarified any questions or details we asked her about Iceland. We got crampoons and helmets (you will need it to keep your head in one piece as you crawl through caves) once we got down near the ice caves path. Don't forget to get your gloves, beanies and face scarves as it was windy and the snow pierced through our faces. The tour lasted for 3 hours and the only downside was that the ice caves didn't really look like the pictures or maybe it was my misconception of the ice caves. But they are still beautiful.

We had a great ice cave tour with Fannar. Despite the rainy day, he still explained a lot about the glacier formation and everything around the landscape. It was the best science class we ever had and took some interesting information with us. Not only the ice cave itself was amazing but also the hike towards the cave. Fannar always took the time to stop and explain some more or answer our question. It really was a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you so much!
