        Grand Canyon sunset tour
Nathan was a great guide. It was nice to see areas of the canyon with someone so knowledgeable. When it was time for the sunset he made sure everyone was in the perfect spot. It was a very very cold night and he made sure everyone had blankets.

A Must Do - Sunset Hummer Tour
Alice, our driver, was full of information of the local area people who made the area what it is. She had a lot of stories about the personalities of the early inhabitants of Grand Canyon Village and the surrounding area that made the trip a great time. The sunset over the canyon was amazing.

        Hummer Tour from Las Vegas
Arrived on day trip either Papillon via G/Canyon Airlines from Vegas and the Buck Wild Hummer Tour was included in our day and it was fabulous!! Taylor (our guide) made the tour fun and interesting and helped to ease the pain of the Spring Break Traffic queues, due to these queues we missed an hour of tour which was disappointing but was handled well by the Buck Wild Team, coming from UK we had no idea what spring break was and in hindsight we would have chosen a different day but it was what it was and didnt detract too much. The hummer tour was fun, be warned it can be cold in winter so bring layers (although blankets are provided) we had heat but once Taylor opened up the sides it was fine! (breezy but allowed amazing views of the park/village) If you get the opportunity of time in your schedule build in time to stay longer at the village or view points but even a day trip leaves views that no photographs can ever replicate. We came back after 20yrs so our now elder teens could experience it and they loved the day too!!

        Worth every penny!! ☺️
Taylor, our guide was very informative, funny and took us to the best places for amazing views. The company provided door to door service to our campsite. As Canadians we try to get the best bang for our buck ( due to the poor exchange rate) and this tour was worth every penny.

A great way to see the best spots
My family took a BuckWild Hummer tour of the South Rim from Tusiyan. Our driver, Trey, provided narration along the trip which included facts about the canyon and surrounding area. He took us to three Vista points where he led us to the best spots, pointed up many features, and even took pictures of our group. It was a great way to go to these busy places without having to drive.

        Canyon Tour
From the ride to the canyons to the beautiful views once there, my family had an excellent time. The tour guide was knowledgeable and very friendly as well as all of the staff. I would call this a must do when visiting Zion.

This is a great way to see the Canyon. If you can, request Jerry. He is native Navajo and gives the historical and native significance of the Canyon as well. Fantastic guide!

        Hummer Tour: Grand Canyon
This was a great way to tour the Grand Canyon. Our guide was knowledgeable & polite; he kept us engaged w/ historical information. He even accommodated the groups by taking photos so everyone in the family could be in the same photo. There were adequate stops at scenic outlooks & restrooms. We got to bypass the traffic line (& fee) at the park entrance and didn’t have to deal w/ parking in our personal vehicles. It was a good choice for our visit!

        Sunset Tour
They were very professional and a pleasure to deal with. I had booked a tour months in advance but unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate. A storm came in on the day of our tour and I was called throughout the day with updates but ended up rescheduling for 2 days later. Another storm rolled in as soon as we got to our first spot and had to be stopped. Our guide was great and I was issued an appropriate refund the next day.

Not worth the money honestly. We were charged an additional $8 per person "Park Entrance Fee" even though we were staying in the park and we were picked up by the tour INSIDE the park. The driver was not informative at all as to the history of the park, the plant life or ecology we were seeing or the types of animals that we might see in the area. The stop at "Rubber Duck on a Rock" was a colossal waste of time as it "doesn't look like a duck anymore because part of it's head fell off a few years ago" (tour guide's narrative.). Well, then, take it off the tour and show me something better!

Also not accommodating at all to anyone with mobility issues. AT ALL.... so if you are not in descent shape, don't go.

Thank you for sharing this review, we appreciate feedback from all of our guests. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience, and we invite you to contact us by phone 928-362-5940 or email hello@buckwildhummertours.com so that we can get more information about your tour, including who your driver was, date of tour, and time of tour. Our tours do entail some walking from the parking area at each viewpoint to the viewpoints themselves, but it is usually a short walk and our previous guests with mobility issues have not problems with it, I am sorry that your aunt was not comfortable. We include Duck on a Rock as one of our viewpoint stops because even though some of the formation has crumbled, the viewpoint itself is still an amazing view of the canyon. Our tours include stops at 3-4 viewpoints. Commercial Tour Operators have to pay the National Park Service a fee for every person we take on tour, and that $8 fee is included in the price of the tour for every passenger 16 years and older. Again, I am sorry that you did not enjoy your experience, and look forward to hearing from you so that we can look into this matter.

The sunset experience at the Grand Canyon was amazing to say the least. The colors and lights were simply breathtaking and were like nothing we’d seen before. We’re so happy we did this and would recommend it to anyone coming to visit the Canyon. It would be a treat for anyone, even if they’ve been here before.

We learned some very interesting facts about the geology and the history of the canyon. We left promptly and the tour proceeded as planned. Dave, the Tour Guide was very knowledgeable and super polite. Also he was very responsible making sure he kept his mask on throughout the time, which we appreciated very much.

Our only concern was the maintenance of the vehicle. Throughout the drive we had to endure a terrible exhaust smell coming into the cabin. I hope Buckwild will take care of that before using that particular Hummer again.

Honestly after visiting the grand canyon many years ago in the middle of summer in 100+ degree weather, I was not expecting the sunset tour with Buck Wild to be more than FREEZING. Besides the cold temperatures our guide literally chased the sunset for us and showed us some hidden spots where we got some pretty awesome pictures. I would definitely recommend this company that goes above and beyond to get you that "IG shot"

We were fortunate enough to have Jerry as our guide. Jerry's willingness to share his Navajo ancestry and personal history was very informative and enriching for the group. We learned A LOT about Native American history in regards to the Grand Canyon.

The Sunset experience can't be captured in words or in pictures. It has to be experienced by the eyes and the soul. The canvas painted upon the sky in front of the crowd was awe inspiring and we're very glad we opted for this tour. If you elect to take the sunset tour, keep in mind that the temperature drops quite a bit after sunset so the ride back to the Buck Wild HQ could be on the cool side.

A tip of the fellowship hat to Jerry for his willingness to share and his courteousness to a hummer full of Texans!

What an amazing review, we are so happy that you enjoyed your tour with Jerry. Your description of a Sunset at the Grand Canyon is so spot on...it can't be described, it can't be completely captured in photos or videos, it has to be 'experienced'. We agree that Jerry is an amazing guide who really enjoys sharing his Navajo ancestry with his guests, and we are happy that you got to share the Grand Canyon with him. GREAT tip for other people about the Sunset Tour...the temperature does drop 10-20 degrees after the sun goes down, so we always recommend bringing along a jacket/sweater. Thanks for the great review, and thanks for choosing Buck Wild Hummer Tours.

Booked a helicopter tour for £1300 for me and my wife’s honeymoon after getting married in vegas. We were made to sign a form saying there’s ‘possible light rain’ while we’re there. We got a small brittle plane to the canyon where we were supposed to get on the helicopter but when we got there it was basically a storm. Stood round waiting for someone to tell us what’s happening. A man walks up to us and says we are with his group, so we go outside and there’s a ‘hummer’ (a small truck with leaking plastic covers). We think this is a shuttle to the helicopter! 15 minutes later he says ‘this is our first stop of the tour’ so I then explain to him we booked and paid for a helicopter tour which he replies ‘cancelled’ and carries on with the ‘hummer’ tour in the fog and rain!

No one told us this was anything to do with the tour, it was not on the website when I booked months ago (it is now funnily enough) and my receipt/itinerary doesn’t mention it either.

Complained via email and was replied to by the most argumentative complaint department member I’ve ever dealt with, Matt Mette who will probably reply to this review arguing his point! He has refunded me less than half of my money for a cancelled helicopter tour and a hummer tour that was pointless due to the fog so is trying to tell me the 1 hour plane flight cost us over $400 EACH and won’t give us that part back. I’m still disputing it with him to this day nearly 2 weeks later 😂.

Apparently Buck Wild Tours is owned by the parent company Papillon who I booked my helicopter tour with so they’re all in this together, Papillon and Grand Scenic Airlines haven’t even replied to me so at least he has.

I would stay clear of this tour, and a helicopter tour via Papillon but if you choose to book it, do not sign the form saying you’re aware there might be light rain because it’s a scam, there had been a constant downpour for 2 weeks there according to a local so they are fully aware of it, the tour should have been cancelled before we got picked up from the hotel.

I’ll attach the proof of my itinerary no mention of the ‘hummer tour’.

Thanks so much for sharing your feedback with us. We were able to investigate your reservation, and I understand your frustration. We sincerely apologize for the last-minute cancellation of your helicopter tour. The severe weather at the Grand Canyon affected our ability to fly safely on the day of your tour. For that reason, I see that a refund was issued for your tour's helicopter and hummer portion. Again, we thank you for your honesty. Sincerely, Papillon Helicopter and Buck Wild Management

What an awesome experience! My wife and I planned a last minute trip to the Grand Canyon, to meet up with her sister and family (husband and 2 children). We were able to book the sunset tour with Buck Wild Grand Canyon Hummer Tours. On the evening of the tour, we were greeted by our tour guide, Ron, who was very pleasant and courteous. He gave us great background knowledge on the history of the Grand Canyon, and early settlers who helped to create the town it is today. We were able to visit multiple sightseeing spots along the way, and Ron even helped to take some memorable photographs for us. He was very courteous, and pleasant to be around. It was important for us to see the sunset from a certain overlook point, and he did his absolute best to ensure we made it in time. Best of all, he gave us some great pointers on where to visit the following day, and some insight that only the locals would know. The vehicle was clean, well maintained, and very comfortable. We would absolutely book this trip again, and highly recommend you do the same!

The tour guide was amazing and had a wealth of knowledge about different points along the tour. The tour I had booked was out of Las Vegas so it didn’t give me the amount of time I would have liked. Despite that, Marc made the most out of the time. He took up points along the south rim that had the best views I’ve seen in my 40 years on this earth. I was able to take awesome pictures to share with my friends and family. Marc was able to mix in a hint of adventure with precision driving around the turns of the canyon. He handled that hummer as if he was an experienced military veteran. When I come to do this trip again I plan on staying longer so I can have a full day inside the camp. This place is way to big and amazing to limit your time there to a couple of hours. Do yourself self a favor if you book this trip. Ask for Marc!

What a great review, and thanks for taking the time to post it, we really appreciate feedback from our guests. We are so happy that you enjoyed your tour with Marc, and happy you were impressed with his driving skills. As you have discovered, there is so much to see at the Grand Canyon that it doesn't seem like 2 hours is enough, but we are glad you chose Buck Wild to spend your few hours with, and really glad that Marc got to take you to viewpoints that rival any you have seen in 40 years! Hope we get to see some of those awesome pictures!

I booked the combo tour through Papillon’s website which included a 30 minute flight and then a 2 hour hummer tour for my boyfriend’s birthday. I was initially only going to book a flight but I saw the option with both a flight and hummer tour.
That being said, I was very happy Ted was my guide- he was entertaining and I can tell he loves Arizona. I was born and raised in PHX, am now living 30 miles from the park, and I think that Ted did a great job with reminding me of how beautiful the state we live in is. He also was able to mention the dangers of carelessness when near/in the Canyon very lightheartedly, and (most importantly) effectively.

Overall the tour was not bad. The pickup service from the hotel was a nice bonus. However I think the pickups may have effected our tour. There was a pickup that was out in the actual old village in the Grand Canyon National Park, it was for one person. I am not sure this is ordinarily part of the tour. As we were promised through stops at the over looks. Unfortunately one of them we weren't even allowed out of the Hummer to look because we were running behind schedule. The tour guide was very nice and pleasant. I would not want her job! She really did try to keep a very mixed bunch of passengers entertained. In doing so I think this may have however put us off schedule. For example our purpose of the tour was going through to the canyons and seeing the beauty of the overlooks. Others with younger passengers seemed more geared toward looking at the wildlife resulting in multiple turn arounds to view the animals. Again a difficult job to balance all. I was traveling with my Mother and my Aunts who are all older, the ride is quite windy, depending where seated. One of the panels was not up on the hummer creating a lot of cold wind wind on them. I ended up switching seats with them to make the ride more enjoyable as they ended up with a major earache. Even with a hooded jacket. Again the driver did offer blankets and really tried to make it enjoyable. Our tour with another company was much more enjoyable. It was not a private tour but the vehicle was smaller. I would recommend if you cannot afford a private tour but have a party less than 6 to book with another company just based on the vehicle size and other passengers. Not fault of Buck Wild. For large groups or private tours this would likely be a great option!

Thanks for the review, we really do appreciate the feedback. We are sorry that you weren't completely satisfied with your experience, but happy that you found your guide to be nice and pleasant, and that she did her best to entertain her guests. Without knowing the details of your tour (date, tour guide, etc..), it's hard to address the issue you raised about the pickup in the Village affecting your tour. If you would like to provide more details, you can email us at hello@buckwildhummertours.com. We do offer hotel pickup in Tusayan and inside the Grand Canyon National Park, but it shouldn't affect the tour duration or overall experience. We try to plan our 'in park pickups' so that we depart Buck Wild earlier than the tour start time, after everyone has checked in, so that we can pick up in park passengers and begin the tour at the schedule time, or before. Sometimes, if people check in late, or if we get last minute in park pickup requests, this will affect the departure of the vehicle from Buck Wild, and cause the start time to be delayed. This may have been the issue on your tour, and I apologize for that. The Hummers are generally 'open air' during the warm weather, sometimes for sunset the sides are down and doors are on, if it's cooler or windy. We are sorry that the open air on one side caused an earache, and we will remind the guides to check with all the passengers to make sure they are comfortable, and to enclose the vehicle if it is windy or cold. Thank you again for the review, we are sorry you didn't fully enjoy the tour, and again, if you would like to provide more details, please email us.

What a great tour! We came in early March and still pretty cold even a bit of snow that morning. The hummer was enclosed and we stayed cozy. Made stops at a bunch of scenic sites with fabulous views. Our driver was fun and informative. We only had a little time and it was a great way to get an overview of the South Rim!
