          Best tour guide ever
We had the best time on our hike! Our tour guide Willy was amazing, he was super communicative and honest about how intense the hike is, but kept up the vibes all the way up! We had a couple of people in our group who struggled, and he was great with helping them out. Could not recommend enough, experience of a lifetime :)

Cool trip with a small group
A once-in-a-lifetime experience and a must do when you are in Guatemala! The operator has only small groups (around 8 people) compared to the other operators we met on the track. Unfortunately, the communication upfront was not really good. We had to inform ourself about all the stuff we needed to bring and it was unclear if it would be possible to rent stuff from them - but it was as soon as you arrive to the base close to the volcano. The guides were really cool and had a lot of funny stories to tell at the bonfire at night. I can only recommend this tour and operator!

Amazing unforgettable experience with friendly knowledgable guides
This is a must do on your travels through Guatemala/ Central America! Guillermo and Benjamin couldn’t have done more to help, great food, hot chocolates constant updates on progress and encouragement. The views were unbelievable from the camp and even more so from the dawn hike. It was not an easy hike to say the least so having great guides made the experience so much better. Because you’re booking through Tripadvisor all information is a bit hard to obtain and last minute, however once your picked up from the centre it’s easy going from there regarding equipment hire and a stop to buy supplies on the way. Also a shop halfway up the mountain to get last minute supplies but you will be paying extra for this, we bought 1 litres of water and two chocolate bars for 90Q. Ensure you take lots of snacks the food was lovely and filling however we were snacking at each break as it was an energy consuming hike. We had a fantastic group of people (12 max) which seemed to be the better option than the large groups we saw on the mountain. Highly recommend, an amazing life experience!

Once in a lifetime view of erupting volcano.
Quite a challenging hike up Acatenango to see Fuego erupting. Guides took great care of us. Information about what we needed to bring was tricky to obtain, though. We got a message about what to bring at 1:40am the morning we were leaving. It would be better to obtain this weeks in advance so that people can pack and prepare appropriately. All in all the trip was fantastic and well worth it!

A wonderful experience …touch climb but we’ll worth it
This was a very tough hi Joe but Sebastian and Elder really helped us all the way. They were so patient and didn’t rush us during the climb. When we arrived at the top of the mountain we were given hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows around the campfire whilst we watch the volcano erupt. Then they served us a really tasty chicken casserole. For breakfast we had porridge and delicious pancakes.

View of a lifetime/preview of heaven
Henry is amazing! This man is a trip lol he is very interesting to listen to and is a wealth of knowledge about his beautiful country. I couldn’t find a more proud Guatemayan person! The hike is relatively easy but challenging at times. be ready to laugh and learn as he walks you through the history. His English is pretty great! A little more detail about the Hike, because I didn’t know what to expect and I couldn’t find it in the reviews. if you don’t live in San Pedro, you can coordinate a pick up with Henry with a private boat, relatively cheap, considering they’re picking you up at 3:30 a.m.. you will get to San Pedro around 4 AM and then you will get in a shuttle that will drive for about 30 minutes up the mountain. It will drop you off on a little village and you will start your hike. There are three stops in the Hike where he will use them as a rest stop as well as teaching moments. You will reach the peak of the hike around 5:40 AM. (If the hike was nonstop it would take like 45 minutes to an hour) the peak is absolutely breathtaking and he takes some pretty good pictures! The back down is a lot easier. Please note that Hike up will be in the dark and requires you to be careful where you step and have some free hands as there are times you have to pull yourself up with the rope (you don’t need major upper body strength) it would be great to bring a little flashlight to put on your forehead.

          Great Volcano Adventure
Even though this was a huge challenge, it was an amazing experience. The guides, food and the camp station were great. Long hike but worth the view.

          MUST DO!!
THIS WAS SUCH AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE. Caesar was such an incredible guide and made the brutal uphill on the first day enjoyable and fun. We did the sunrise hike at sunset with our second guide Benjamin and I can’t express enough how majestic it was. The views of the volcano, being above the clouds, watching the sun go down, and the explosions and lava flow down at night was other-worldly. Definitely not for the faint of heart as it was a very challenging hike, but SO worth it. Also again, can’t recommend better guides than the two we had. Benjamin was awesome and very clear with directions and motivation, and Caesar went out of his way to make the trip so fun and was so friendly and knowledgeable. Also, the food was 10/10. I was so impressed from start to finish. PS: make sure to bring enough water and something to use as a pillow.

          Volcano tips
          1. Willy and Orlando were amazing! Informative, experienced, positive and very professional! 2. Definitely bring some sort of bandana or gaiter for the dust. The terrain is loose dusty rock the entire way and you will be eating dirt without one. 3. Don’t worry about gear rental communication if you haven’t heard back. They have everything you would need and you can get it upon arrival. 4. Yes pack water, but you also have multiple opportunities to stop and buy water at little shops along the way. 5. *please* pack your own toilet paper and trash in and out! It was so sad how much litter was all over the entire volcano. 6. This hike is *tough* but so so worth it for the view. We did not do the extra fuego hike in the evening but instead did the quick sunset hike and were so happy with our decision. It was the most beautiful view I’ve ever seen in my life, and we had time to sit and enjoy it, then have marshmallows around the campfire. If you can make this a 3 day/2 night trip then do Fuego the next night! The views from base camp are amazing and I wish we could have stayed up there longer

Wonderful, intimate tour. Incredible guides. Head office not communicative 4.5/5
Booked a tour for myself and 5 other friends. Willy and Orlando were knowledgable, kind, hilarious and clearly experienced. It also felt good knowing they were local to the area. The provided food and drink was excellent. Delicious, lean and abundant. The only draw back was head office. Don't respond through tripadvisor, emails rebound, messages delivered on whatsapp but never opened, provided phone number no longer in use. The 6 other people in our tour who booked separately to us all expressed the same to Willy and Orlando who were professional and sympathetic, urging us to write a review and mention it. Overall an incredible experience, great guides and an intimate tour. Would be 5 stars if not for head office not responding, and the tour itself was definitely 5 stars.

          Must do experience
You need to do this when you visit Guatemala! I highly recommend this company for multiple reasons. First our guide Miguel was brilliant. The group size is much smaller than other companies which have up to 40 people, ours was only 4. This made the hike up easy to do at our own pace without having to wait for people. The food was good and the campsite had excellent views of Fuego which was erupting about every 20 minutes or so. The hike itself is around 5 hours and 1500m elevation so it is challenging but doable with reasonable level of fitness. You can rent hiking bags, poles, gloves, beanies, headlamps and buy some snacks with the company and I recommend having all of these items. We did the hike to Fuego, it is very hard but not impossible. Very steep and dusty, wouldn’t really recommend unless the weather is perfect and you are very fit. Also it costs extra. The Fuego hike is another 4 hours minimum return. The couple that didn’t do the Fuego hike with us also got really good views and probably saw more eruptions than we did because the view is obstructed during the hike. You need to carry your own meals which are provided. There are shops to purchase drinks and snacks along the way, it’s not too pricey either. Also the cabins are good, there is a mattress, sleeping bag and blanket provided. Bring a small travel pillow. 10/10 experience recommend it to anyone.

The guides were awesome. Came to our hotel and helped us navigate the water taxi type transportation to cross the lake. We did ask for a later start time which they agreed to but once on the lake it was very choppy and I was told that was because of the later start time. It would be nice if they had told me that because had I known that I would have stuck with the earlier start time.

The lake was beautiful, the beach we landed on was very nice too. There are vendors there so bring $$ if you want to shop or buy snacks. The guides stayed with us while kayaking and helped us maneuver the waves. They did not have the right amount of kayaks though and tried to put my husband and I in a double which was a disaster! Ultimately they were able to get us singles from another location. The trip had to be shorter which was fine by us, the choppy lake made for an intense workout after about 2 hours!

All in all the day was very good. We would definitely recommend this company. just keep in mind things are very laid back and timing is all relative. Ask questions, be prepared because unlike the states safety is not the number one concern. I say this not to deter anyone but because all of my concerns would have been sorted out before we came if we were in the states but things are very relaxed in this little water front town so be prepared for it, go with the flow and enjoy the beauty of the lake and nature!
