    Do it
Went with my partner. It was one of the greatest experiences of our lives. Make sure to take very warm clothes. It was cold on top. We had two execellent guides. We spent most of the climb with Willie because we were at the back of the pack, he is a local who is super knowledgeable and thoughtful.

    Praise for Luca
Luca did an amazing job as our guide! His English is phenomenal and his knowledge of the volcano and surrounding areas makes the adventure all the more special. The food was delicious and views were breathtaking! Highly recommend booking this tour!

Great adventure with the best guides!!
Our guides were Benjamin and Cesar and they were the best guides ever, especially Cesar. He was so encouraging, kind and attentive. This was the hardest thing that I had ever done in my life and he was there every step of the way helping us through it all. My recommendation to finish this great adventure is just to put one foot in front of the other and you will get to the top. We had a great day since we were able to watch el fuego volcanic eruptions over and over again, it was more or less like 20 to 30 minutes between eruptions. I chose this company specifically because they do smaller groups and their camp is the highest one in Acatenango, so you have the most beautiful view when you get to the top. If I ever go back, I will choose them again. Thank you Cesar and Benjamin for such a wonderful adventure. Just know you have to pay for the park entrance separately and you have to rent from them the gear such as headlamps and sticks to help you with the climb. Rent it you will very much need it.

Exceptional service from Elmer & Victor
Elmer & Victor were our tour guides, and gave us exceptional service. They are the nicest and most patient people we've met. They made us feel very safe and very welcomed. Along the way we were going at a slow pace but yet they're patience made us feel like it was totally fine. We appreciate them so much for they're kindness and the service that they provided us with. I have 0 complains for both of them, they are exceptional workers. If you book Wicho and Charlie make sure you ask if Elmer & Victor are available to be as your guides.

Great guides! Would 100% go again
Incredible tour! Benjamin and Cesar were great guides and made sure we were well taken care of. It’s a challenging hike, but they will go as slow as you need and provide plenty of breaks. The food prepared was great! Their base camp is the highest on the mountain, giving incredible Fuego views. We were rained on that night, but Benjamin and Cesar went out of their way to take care of us. They brought us warm food and hot chocolate to our cabins while they were getting soaked in the rain. The groups were smaller (8) people versus larger companies, which had anywhere from 15-30 people. This is a hard hike, so having that many people and skill levels really slows down the climb. With a small group and two guides, the 6 of us that were equal level could power through to the top and not be slowed waiting for the rest of the group, which gets frustrating when you just want to get to the top and relax. The two in our group that were slow were led by the second guide, who was very patient. They also provide whatever gear you forget that day at the base. I forgot my rain jacket somehow and they had a rack of spare jackets, gloves, beanies, and plastic ponchos to borrow. I recommend bringing an extra pair of socks if I were to do it again.

Cesar was brilliant! Once I'm a lifetime experience.
Cesar was the best guide we could have asked for! He was very patient and attentive and we had lovely conversations around the campfire. The hike was amazing! Tough but worth it. The food was brilliant and cesar did an excellent job with the cooking. An unforgettable experience made extra special by our brilliant guide. Just a few things to take note before starting the hike. There is no drinking water at base camp, so make sure you have enough water for 2 days. We took 4 liters each and was enough. There are some shops on the way up too if you are cut short. Also there is no toilet. We are used to wild camping so wasn't a problem for us. The campsite is basic but what we expected. It had a perfect view of Fuego. The best breakfast view I have ever had. Thanks again Cesar! It's a once in a lifetime experience.

A true hikers bucket list hike
The hike is not for the weak. The guides were great and food was good too. The day we went was very cloudy so we only got to see the volcano briefly and it rained on us all night. Not as cold as it gets during dry season. We still had a blast and really enjoyed it. My advice is be prepared for rain if you go during rainy season and to not overpack because you will have opportunity to buy water and snacks during the climb. If it’s your first hike make sure you train before. You will not enjoy it if you are not at least at basic physical condition. Also would recommend trail runners instead of boots for this hike, take cash (local currency) . Hire a porter for sure if your not fit. My mistake was buying things that I could have easily rented like headlamp, hiking backpack, etc.

    Don't Miss This Hike!
Most rewarding and most difficult hike we have done. This company was fantastic. We camped higher than any other group so it was less time to reach the top in the morning. Benjamin and Orlando and Fanny (dog) were amazing guides. They encouraged us along the way and stayed with those having difficulty, making this hike possible for all in our group. Fed us hot food, cocoa, hot cereal in the morning. Sleeping bags were very thin (and well used) so bring lots of layers to sleep in. We brought our blow-up sleeping pads and a blow-up pillow (recommend) as the foam sleeping mats are hard and lumpy. Our tent was well worn and the zipper didn't work well but all this paled in comparison to sleeping to sounds of El Fuego erupting throughout the night. Well worth the strain to do this hike. Don't miss it!!!

    Experience of a lifetime!
What an incredible experience! Everything was fantastic- from our guides, to the food, to the camp site. Cesar and Adan were amazing, and supported our group the entire way while giving us plenty of information on the experience. Definitely book this trip!

    Difficult, rewarding, incredible videos!!
We spent overnight with the two wonderful guides Seser and Adan, who were so so patient and kind and met all our needs! The hike was really difficult up there but with plenty of breaks for the most incredible views at night time! It does get freezing at night and in the morning so glad we had layers. We went through 3l of water on the way up! Definitely get the hiking poles, this was my mistake and the guide lent me his because it was a struggle and slippery at some points. We made the extra climb to Fuego (here we had to borrow hiking poles) and it was worth it but it was very tiring. You see the lava views from camp all night long and it’s comfortable by the camp fire should you wish to preserve your energy. Our group had 4 couples which was perfect as nobody felt stressed or left behind! Some groups we passed had 20+ people in them.

    Family kayaking tour
The guides were awesome. Came to our hotel and helped us navigate the water taxi type transportation to cross the lake. We did ask for a later start time which they agreed to but once on the lake it was very choppy and I was told that was because of the later start time. It would be nice if they had told me that because had I known that I would have stuck with the earlier start time. The lake was beautiful, the beach we landed on was very nice too. There are vendors there so bring $$ if you want to shop or buy snacks. The guides stayed with us while kayaking and helped us maneuver the waves. They did not have the right amount of kayaks though and tried to put my husband and I in a double which was a disaster! Ultimately they were able to get us singles from another location. The trip had to be shorter which was fine by us, the choppy lake made for an intense workout after about 2 hours! All in all the day was very good. We would definitely recommend this company. just keep in mind things are very laid back and timing is all relative. Ask questions, be prepared because unlike the states safety is not the number one concern. I say this not to deter anyone but because all of my concerns would have been sorted out before we came if we were in the states but things are very relaxed in this little water front town so be prepared for it, go with the flow and enjoy the beauty of the lake and nature!

We hiked up the Indian Nose starting at 4am in San Pedro. The hike was steeper than I thought, but Salvador made sure that we take breaks and slowed down for us. We arrived early and got the best seats at the summit.

The sunrise was amazing. I always thought it can't get any more beautiful than this, the sky proved me wrong every 5 minutes. The colors were amazing and Lake Atitlan is probably one of the most beautiful lakes that I've ever seen.

Salvador also explained the surrounding villages to us and brought us coffee at the peak.
I can definitely recommend him and his tour!

Salvador was a great tour guide and person! He was very knowledgeable and helped us through the entire hike. He picked us up at 4 am from the town where we were staying. (This is very nice because if you aren’t staying in Santa Clara the you either have to have a private boat take you there or have a driver). We then drove to Santa Clara and hiked up to the top (45 min in total). He provided walking sticks and coffee at the top! Salvador was extremely friendly and an experienced hiker. Highly recommend

I visited The Lake Atitlan region of San Pedro for two days and went on three tours with Salvador, these were the three village tour, Indian nose hike and a visit to chichicastenango market. Salvador was an amazing guide and I truly appreciate how he shared his culture with me. If ever I am back in the region I will definitely use his services.

One of the best sunrises I have ever seen in my life.
Salvador our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable.
He helped us out a lot with arranging a boat from where we were staying to get to where the hike was.
He took us on the hike which is short but uphill so it’s a little tiring but you will definitely make it and when you do the view is worth it.
We highly recommend this just because it’s something you will never forget.
Salvador was so willing to help with taking pictures for us and making sure we were comfortable as we waited for the sunrise.
I would do this again!!!!

Epic View! Was picked up from my hotel at 4AM and took about an hour to get to the start of the hike. Met another hiker who joined in and we ascended up the mountain.. took about 25 min to hike up. Not difficult at all just make sure your shows are not slippery. The view of the sunrise was incredible!! Highly, highly recommended

Special thank you to Salvatore! He was an awesome hiking guide. Very courteous and super knowledgeable!

Salvador was way better than we could have imagined. He was incredibly knowledgeable and sincerely humble. We felt honored to receive even a portion of his knowledge. He was able to immerse us in his culture in a way that was both interesting and honest. We couldn't be more thankful for our time with him. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

Salvador was very responsive via email leading up to our trip. He came right on time to pick us up from our hotel in San Pedro and it was a 40 min drive to the trailhead. The hike was about 30-45 mins and even on a somewhat cloudy day we still had a beautiful view of the whole lake and all the surrounding volcanoes. Salvador told us a lot about the culture and the land and we had a really nice time!
