It is one of the best tours I’ve done in my life. It is a great experience, with lots of things to learn, and a beautiful place to visit. Hacienda Ebano is great for local and foreign people.

I enjoyed the tour a lot! Views are amazing, trails are gorgeous, waterfalls are nice and refreshing... And food was delicious. I also am very grateful to the tourist guides and staff who were kind and funny during the experience.

This experience was honestly priceless! The views are amazing, swimming in the waterfalls was so magical for my 12 year old son and I and the guides are so caring and passionate about nature and what they do. They also gave us fresh coconut water and fed us the most delicious traditional Costa Rican lunch at the end of the hike. Honestly, I could not recommend this experience more. I would give 10 starts if I could!!

We stayed in Dominical. There were ten adults/seniors in our family who went on the Waterfalls & Rainforest Tour. It was great! We met at the new visitor center/restaurant under construction. The safari vehicle was comfortable and safe. We toured the rain forest, stopped for a snack at the ocean vista and had a delicious home cooked Casado lunch at the waterfall. Everyone had a good time. The guides were knowledgeable and courteous. We encountered many things we would not have seen on our own. I highly recommend this experience. It is a wonderful family run operation. They have gone to the trouble and expense to do it right. Don't miss it!

What an absolutely amazing and awesome tour! Definitely a highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. Juancarlos was our super friendly tour guide, and he shared so much knowledge and wisdom with us, giving us a true appreciation for Costa Rica and the beautiful wildlife, plant life, and culture. He taught us the art and beauty of just stopping to listen to the birds, to revel in the mist that wafts from a waterfall, and to marvel at the precious eco-system of Costa Rica. His pride for, love of, and respect for his country was evident throughout the tour, and he effectively imparted this to us, giving us a new perspective and admiration for Costa Rica. At one point of the tour, Juancarlos used his machete to cut coconuts for us to drink coconut water, which was a treat! As part of this family-owned and run business, our driver from point to point, Cesar, provided us with interesting facts, too, along the way. We hiked (they provided walking sticks for us,) we swam in waterfalls, we enjoyed gorgeous panoramic views, and we ended the tour beside a waterfall with a delicious lunch served in a banana leaf by Cesar’s wife, Carolina. You will LOVE this tour—don’t hesitate to book, and invite your friends and family, too!

I traveled to Costa Rica with some friends and we wanted to get a close-up look at the natural beauty that it had to offer, and boy did we find the right place! As soon as we arrived at the easy-to-find meeting spot, we were welcomed by the team. They were courteous and courageous as we entered into the reserve on their all-terrain truck. We had already seen a few other trails and vistas in Costa Rica by this point but felt that we were being transported to a very special place as Caesar deftly drove up and down the steep roads leading to our destination. Our tour guide, Juan Carlos, was a living ray of sunshine that shed light on so many parts of the reserve from start to finish; He was both personable and passionate. Juan Carlos spotted many birds, butterflies, iguanas, flowers, and even a tiny Poison-Dart Frog (each of which he knew by name) as we journeyed through the wilderness. Juan Carlos literally spoke to the nature that surrounded us, summoning birds closer and thanking them for the appearances that they made. Between sightings, Juan Carlos would share inspirational insights about why he loved nature so much and we felt very safe while also having lots of fun. The breaks we took at the foot of two different waterfalls were very refreshing and made us feel a deep gratitude for these natural treasures and the team that was introducing us to them. We got to try new foods including “ice cream fruit” and coconuts as we gazed upon unbelievable views. I am a birder and appreciated seeing nearly a dozen new types of birds during the experience. We were surrounded by the surreal and the team was happy to stop and explain whatever we wanted to get a closer look at. The lunch at the end of the tour before descending back to our starting point was delicious and refreshing; the experience that includes the lunch is well worth the price and we left feeling that we’d received more than we given in cost by far. (We gave an additional tip even though they did not gesture that this was expected in the least.) We’re so happy that we found one of the most beautiful places in Costa Rica, which is itself one of the most beautiful places in the world. Be you a birder, a hiker, a fan of flora and fauna, an immersive traveller, someone who enjoys guided tours, or someone who loves having your breath taken away by epic views, the Hacienda Ébano nature experience is for you! Jump in with both feet and come out the other side with a deeper appreciation for nature. You won’t regret it! This place exudes la Pura Vida and I will definitely return if I come back to this part of Costa Rica.

This has been the best guided tour we have been on during our entire stay in Costa Rica. The hospitality, knowledge, care, and warmth is unmatched. Juan Carlos and Caesar were attentive and prepared to show us everything this hike and waterfall tour has to offer. We were safe and got to see so much that we would have never seen on our own. We saw poison dart frogs, many different birds, livestock. We stopped for photos at many of the most beautiful places we have seen in Costa rica and that is saying so much. They feed you fresh coconut and made sure to adhere to my wife's dietary needs for the excellent lunch that is provided. The lunch was huge, delicious, and filling. It was like having someone make a meal from there home and we ate under a canopy of trees next to a waterfall. I cannot recommend this tour enough.

This tour was amazing! Caesar and Juan Carlos, the tour guides, know their stuff. They were able to answer any question we had and pointed out different plants, animals, and even birds by just the sound of them. We saw a bird that Juan has never seen before, frogs, and a sloth!! And the views, absolutely amazing!!

Caesar and Juan Carlos were excellent tour guides! The seats in the vehicle were very comfortable, and the hike was the perfect amount of challenge to keep it fun and manageable. We saw so many beautiful birds, plants, flowers, and even a sloth! The food at the end was absolutely delicious! True authentic Costa Rican cuisine! Highly recommend!

Juan Carlos went out of his way to give Brenda and me a special day in Hacienda Ebano! The day was just as it was described on Viator. Juan Carlos gave us a safe and exciting ride on top of his truck! And we hiked a good distance at a comfortable pace making sure we were using all of our senses to appreciate the biodiversity! JC prepared lunch while we swam in the waterfall. JC also cut open coconuts for us to drink which was so refreshing after our hike. We drink the water as we enjoyed the panoramic views of the ocean and the mountains beside us! I would recommend this tour!

Absolutely a MUST! Cesar and his wife were very welcoming and eager to share their extensive knowledge of the rainforest and the absolute beauty that it holds! From the waterfalls to the views and all the creatures we encountered it was an amazing experience! Highly recommended for anyone traveling to Costa Rica! You will not be disappointed!

Juan Carlos is an excellent guide. We were really impressed with his ability to spot and describe the rainforest wildlife. Well worth it!

5 Extremely information and intimate. The guide Cesar and his wife took the time to explain the whole eco system. The private nature reserve is amazing well taken care off.

This was one of best excursions we went on. Caesar was an amazing guide. The wild life and jungle were on point. The water falls and swimming is so refreshing. Walking through the jungle was peaceful and relaxing. The trails that Caesar took us on were moderate terrain. Finishing with an authentic meal was delicious and perfectly timed. Can’t say enough about Caesar, his family and the whole trip. HIGHLY recommended.

So Amazing! Juan Carlos & César served us coffee on a hilltop as we watched the sun set in the Pacific. Then they walked us through the Ebano trails showing us nocturnal frogs, insects, and birds. They were so knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful. They even shared their photos from the walk with us. Our true Pura Vida guides;) Highly highly recommend.
