- amandajX8285NK0 contributionsExcellent Day Tour!We really enjoyed our excursion to see Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon. Our driver, Bobby V, was very knowledgeable and friendly, and gave us tons of interesting tidbits about Sedona, The Grand Canyon, etc. Our slot canyon tour guide, Leland, was very friendly and had tons of info as well. he also showed us some beautiful pictures he had taken previously in the canyons.Written October 2, 2024
- Mary S0 contributionsThe best tour everThe tour was amazing ! The tour guides were very informative and friendly and went the extra miles to accommodate everyone to frequent stop for bathroom breaks to water breaks and really caredWritten October 2, 2024
- K4638VQjeant0 contributionsGrand Canyon 90th Birthday CelebrationA wonderful day with fellow travelers and our guide Steveebe. All the sights were intresting, breathtaking and wonderful. But Steevebe brought it all alive with his knowledge and great way of telling and explaining the millions of years of history creating the Grand Canyon and surrounding areas. Lunch at Cameron's was absolutely delicious.Written September 29, 2024
- mammalovescake0 contributionsFantastic day. Very enjoyable! We really enjoyed our day. Sheldon was fantastic and very attention-to-detail oriented. He was constantly checking to make sure we were hydrated, giving advice and the best ways to approach each stop, attentive to bathroom needs, confirming that we had enough time and didn't feel rushed, etc. Antelope Canyon was on my bucket list and I was super excited to cross it off. The beauty of the area is unnatched. It is a long day with a lot of driving, but we got to see so much and enjoyed not having to do the driving ourselves and getting all the history and trivia along the way.Written September 25, 2024
- Curious633274366820 contributions10/10 would do it againMark, our tour guide, was spectacular. He picked us up promptly at our hotel and we went on to pick up a few more couples. Every single destination on this tour was beautiful and Mark shared lots of information regarding the history, plants, etc. Mark provided us with waters and made sure to stop at rest areas throughout the trip. We saw Mule deer, elk, turkeys, lizards, and a few coyotes in the early morning! Overall, this tour is spectacular and I would recommend it to anyone!Written September 25, 2024

- Judith S0 contributionsLovely day in ArizonaWe love road trips so loved the drive from Sedona to Glen Canyon and the river. Jamie, our small-van driver, was safe, fun and informative. The river float was fun and scenery breathtaking . We enjoyed our lunch on the beach sitting on a rock under a small mesquite tree.Written September 17, 2024

- marysX9364BI0 contributionsOur Grand Canyon Sunset experienceWe had an amazing time, The views were unbelievable! The guide was very friendly and informative. I only wished we could have had more time at the Grand Canyon. Also, it would be nice if they could have the stop in the middle instead of clear at one end and have to walk to the other end to see things. We did not get the entire way as I got short of breath. The meal was okay, but I would not call it "fancy". If you didn't get your dessert at the beginning, you were required to purchase on your own. Who gets ice cream right away? I know there were some that took advantage and loaded down plates with food and then took home carry out boxes. That ruined it for everyone. This needs to be addressed.Written August 27, 2024
- christinekmuk0 contributionsExcellent day trip!Loved this amazing day trip. It’s a long day with a lot of driving but the scenery is incredible and our guide, Jamie, kept us entertained and informed throughout. Horseshoe Bend is spectacular and the walk to the viewpoint slopes gently downwards - coming up was hot but very manageable. Jamie had a plentiful supply of cold water to keep us cool. Lunch was included and very good. We were taken into Antelope Canyon by our Navajo guide, Jasmine, who was wonderful and knew the best spots to get great photos. The canyon itself is an absolute must see- an otherworldly geological formation shaped by wind and water over thousands of years. A fantastic experience all round and well worth the cost. Thank you, Jamie!Written August 3, 2024

Seeing the Grand Canyon in photos does not compare with its majesty in real life experience. This day tour from Sedona seemed to fit in enough scenic stops that gave plenty of chance for photos and just admiring the view. We were so lucky to draw Dave as our guide, a gentleman with plenty of knowledge and experience with the Canyon.
My wife and I, plus our two sons and their s.o.'s all thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Being 6 of us, we were also lucky enough to fill enough of the bus that it ended up being a private tour. That meant, among other things a more relaxed time for all of us. Dave knew all of the ins and outs of avoiding (for the most part) the huge crowds that passed through the park that day.
Weather had an interesting impact on our tour. It was sunny and 60's in Sedona, but in the 20's, overcast with low clouds and snow flurries at the Canyon. This happened to excite our photographer son who was thrilled to capture the Canyon with other than standard sunny AZ lighting and in the clouds.

This tour was excellent. We were staying in Sedona for a weekend and this tour helped us maximize our time. We were extremely lucky with J.R as our guide. He was very friendly, funny and has a deep knowledge about every location we visited. I truly feel this tour was money well spent as we visited multiple spots that we would have never found. J.R provided a safe journey and had a wealth of information to provide during the drive. You would enjoy this tour regardless, but consider yourself lucky with JR as your guide.

Really great tour. Our guide, Andrea, was so very knowledgeable and made sure everyone was comfortable and cool. We were especially grateful for the stop at the grocery store in Flagstaff to grab food for lunch at the recommendation of Andrea because there were few dining options available in the park and there’d be long lines. The views were just breathtaking! Thank goodness Andrea had a large cooler full of water for us all to drink and she encouraged hydration throughout!

Mark F. is an expert guide whose knowledge of the area rivals any Wikipedia entry! As he said, the day began with the warm up activities such as the volcano and Native American ruins and reservation and ended with carefully chosen vistas of the Grand Canyon. Mark ensured that we had ample stops for creature comforts, and he never ventured from his mission to keep us informed and entertained. My husband and I rarely take tours because we like to be independent, but we definitely could not have maximized our time without this carefully planned and executed tour. Perhaps the other guides are qualified, but I would definitely request a tour with Mark.

Highly Recommend Great Venture Tours, our tour guide was excellent, perfect amount of information and time spent at multiple locations. She was very professional and planned trip perfectly. Andrea Corral was our guide. I would highly recommend her if possible. We enjoyed the trip to Grand Canyon and multiple sights along the way that we would never have known to see, it was a bit hazy from wildfires, late July (get there for first time in 50 years and its hazy) but still fantastic and makes me want to go back on perfectly clear day.

Charlie was absolutely the best and he deserves a 5-star rating. His knowledge of history and geography and geology was amazing and so appreciated.
The trip did not include the full itinerary yesterday due to closings due to Covid which was disappointing. We would have loved to see a little of the Navajo Reservation but will have to make that on a different trip. We definitely want to come back to the Canyon and spend time in and around Page and Lake Powell.
The weather was perfect and the convenience of being picked up and dropped off at our resort was excellent.

A very pleasant and impressive experience. Great Ventures Tours organized everything very well; Very special mention to the guide Cathryn "Cat" Miller, very enthusiastic and professional. He took us to very particular sites/viewpoints of the Grand Canyon and all the time he told us very interesting points about the geography of the area, geology topics and the culture of the Navajo people.
If they hire Great Ventures (highly recommended); Request Cathryn "Cat" Miller to accompany you.

It was nice way to see Grand Canyon national park. With aver 2 hours drive each way from Sedona we appreciated the opportunity to see this road without driving ourselves. Our tour guide gave us some information about the state of Arizona as well as about nature on the way to the Great Canyon. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and we had to rush back trying to beat the snow.

This 11 hour tour was awesome! Mark F. picked us up at our resort in Sedona and we were on our way. We enjoyed a scenic drive up to Flagstaff with Mark narrating the entire way and then picked up a few more passengers. We were 9 total. We then continued on to the Grand Canyon. The first stop was the South Rim followed by 3 or 4 other gorgeous stops. On the way out, we stopped at Navajo Nation and had a great late lunch.
Mark was knowledgeable and funny. We enjoyed our day and recommend it.

We really enjoyed our Grand Canyon tour with our tour guide Kris. I highly recommend taking advantage of this full day tour. The drive was very scenic and included lots of stops to walk around and use the restroom. Kris’s wealth of knowledge is impressive, and he has a great sense of humor. He took a lot of great pictures for us. The Grand Canyon was absolutely breathtaking. It was nice to go in the winter as it was not crowded. We ate lunch at the Maswik food court in Grand Canyon Village. There were a lot of options and the food was good. I have dietary restrictions, and I was able to find food no problem. They had gluten-free bread and a vegetarian burger at one of their stations. It was really good. We also got to see the El Tovar hotel decorated for the holidays which was beautiful. On the way back, Kris gave us the option of having a quiet ride back or for him to keep narrating the drive. We asked for him to keep talking as his stories were very educational and entertaining. We’re glad we chose the tour rather than going on our own.

Is it possible to leave from a hotel in Sedona and go to the Grand Canyon, stay overnight there and you bring us back the end of the next day?
Written May 20, 2022
Hi there,
I researched that possibility as well and didn't find anything that would work for me. So I really don't know. The tour I took to the Grand Canyon was great and I never felt I didn't have enough time to enjoy the beauty of the canyon. I was picked up at my hotel in Sedona at 7 am and dropped off at about 7 pm, so a full day. You may look into staying in Flagstaff and taking a tour from there. I hope this helps.

What is the temperature and heat like in late July-early August? Is it unbearable or take away from the enjoyment of the trip?

What is the duration of the trip from Sedona ?
Written October 3, 2019
think we got picked up at 7:30A and returned around 6P. It is a great day and didn't seem overly long. Guess it depends on where your hotel is in Sedona, we were on the more north of town (BW), last pick up and headed right up through the Canyon to the Grand Canyon and stopping for train people in Williams.

I am staying in an Airbnb in Sedona, how and where would I know to go to get the bus if I booked?
Written July 15, 2019
they pick up at most hotels so if not at your location, you could ask which hotel they have scheduled for pick up and go there. I agree, they are so nice, they will probably accommodate any reasonable request.
