- Kurt K0 contributionsThe Bottom of the WorldArrived via Celebrity Eclipse. Took excursion via bus to the National Park then offloaded to a powered catamaran through Beagle Sound back to the port. Windy but beautiful. Loved it.Written March 14, 2024
- JimRiesterer0 contributionsTons of penguinsWe were fortunate enough to take this tour with a small group of 15. We started out with a short covered zodiac ride to Gable island then spent around two hours hiking on the well marked and maintained trail with blooming plants, curious mosses and views to snow capped mountains. At the end of the hike was a small building where a fine crew had prepared a selling of grilled tenderloin potatoes and apple cobbler. The meal started with a small king crab salad. After a leisurely lunch the boat returned and we were off to the penguin island about 10 min away. We were escorted around among the penguins for about 1 hour being ever careful to keep our distance (min 3 meters). As we were her in January, the many babies were about half feathered out as they replace the baby down. Then a 15 min boat ride and we were back to the starting point and ready for the 90 min drive back to Ushuaia. Such a great dayWritten January 29, 2024
- becazican0 contributionsGreat tour guideGreat tour guide was doing the tour in two languages which is extremely hard. The trouble with this tour is the places were boring. Just not worth the moneyWritten January 11, 2024
- Scenic7892320 contributionsTour of a lifetimeOMG!!!!! You haven't experienced Ushuaia until you've walked amongst the penguins. I am a lover of the animals and I've seen the movies and National Geo videos, but until you've seen penguins in their habitat you haven't lived. Since it was Spring down south the penguins were in their birthing nests. there is only one company that is allowed on the island that is the penguin preserve and they only take 120 people a day. We lucked out and they added a 6:00 AM (yeah in the morning!!) tour. So worth it.Written December 15, 2023
- MaySpecial0 contributionsTerra Del Fuega national park superA worthwhile stop to the Terra Feuga National park. Lots of nature to see. Walk around the lake and stop over at the visitor center at Alakush. The tour also stop at the end of the world or Baia Lapataia. The last point of South America before entering Antarctica Magellan straits.Written February 28, 2023
- Eluminaz0 contributionsWow!We had a fantastic experience with this tour. I confess that I did not have any high expectations at first but was blown away with the whole experience. We met our tour guides at the Port, then we drove about an hour and a half to the Harberton Estancia where we learned about the history of the founders of Ushuaia. Then we took a small boat to Isla martillo and got to walk along the penguins. We saw 3 types of breeds, it was an amazing experience. We also visited a museum at the end. The only thing I would recommend is for the agency to specify where exactly at the port we need to do the check in. We had to call and then they told us to to go ti the Piratour booth. It was a bit pricey but well worth it.Written February 13, 2023
- Karmaev0 contributionsLove the penguinsIt is the best way to look at all the beautiful things existing in the Beagle Channel. The boat stops for several minutes in each of the points of interest. There is one person explaining history and describing all places. There's a company that takes pictures (extra cost, but not expensive) so you can have great pictures from your travel. The boat is really comfortable. I was there during summer, but it feels really cold because of the wind. Make sure you have a heavy jacket or several layers. You get to see sea lions, birds and penguins!Written January 9, 2023
- ericcE5088IO0 contributionsBoat Broke down. No back up planThe boat broke down only half the group got to see the penguins. They only had one boat, can’t believe they don’t have a back up plan. Hour bus ride out for wine and hour back. Not worth it, planned my day around this excursion. Very upset to lose a day of vacation.Written February 19, 2022
- PaulAK20110 contributionsIncredible experience! My travel companion and I had signed up for a Beagle Channel all day boat tour, the only one that allowed two small groups to take turns going ashore and spend a full hour walking with the penguins. There were hundreds and hundreds of penguins on the island. They were mostly Magellan penguins, with manny of the larger Gentoo penguins. I saw one big King penguin sitting on eggs. The holes or burrows of the Magellan penguins were everywhere. I videotaped one digging and saw dirt flying out. Our guide was very informative. The penguins in general totally ignored us. We could photograph them from as close as a meter. This was a wonderful experience !Written February 10, 2020

- Shortelement0 contributionsAwesome boat ride! Cold in the front.I went on this cruise in early December 2019. I saw birds, seals, and best of all, Penguins! We weren't allowed to get on the Penguin island but the boat "landed" on the beach. Everyone rushed to the front of the boat to take pictures, selfies, etc. If you go on this trip, bring maybe three layers for your top, a beanie, and gloves. I was on the front of the boat when it was travelling to penguin island and it was cold BUT I also was able to see a few "swimmers" (penguins, seals). Most of the people were inside the boat. I enjoyed this boat ride, got my passport stamped, met a few travelers as well.Written December 25, 2019
- Chelsey J0 contributionsWow! What a Place!Really fantastic, it was like walking through a Tim Burton film. It´s about an hour drive from downtown Buenos Aires but well worth the travels to see something so out of the ordinary and fascinating!Written September 30, 2018

It was very worth it. Beautiful ride. It's cold. 38 thousand pesos per person. There are still about sixteen characters left. Now it worked!
