About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- CP20150 contributionsGreat visit in Patagonia! This was a really great tour. The two days in Ushuaia were really fun - great visit to the park followed by a very nice boat tour where we got to see a lot of wildlife. The views we had on the lake and glacier tours in El Calafate were simply spectacular. I'd also add that the logistics and communications for the tour were first class. All pickups and drops offs were timely and we were always kept well informed of the next steps. All in all ... a really great time.Written February 16, 2024
- Laura M0 contributionsGlacier trekking a must!Signature tours (Claudia) did a great job organizing our trip! Our group of 6 adults, loved the trekking on the glacier! It was a fabulous day! Claudia was very accessible and answered emails quickly!Written February 19, 2023
- formershrink0 contributionsAWESOME!!!! DO NOT MISS!!As other reviewers have said, ONLY book this tour with Piratour. I took the Piratour Martillo Island trip and it should get 7 stars not 5!! The visit to the penguins was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, I saw hundreds of penguins and their chicks close-up. It isn't cheap and there is a bus ride 1.5 hours long each way and you have to endure a boring visit to Estancia Harburton but DO IT ANYWAY! The penguin experience is so awesome I promise you it's worth it.Written January 28, 2023
- ped_anip0 contributionsThe best way to see the Penguins! Worth every cent.WOW! One of the best tours we had done! Our guide Agustín was 10/10! He shared great information on the bus, added his own experience as a penguin guide for 7 years and took us on Isla Martillo safely, for us and for the penguins. The lady on Estancia Haberton was great too, excitingly sharing her years of work on maritime animals. The cherry on the top of the cake was the 1h walk with penguins. Truly once in a lifetime! We get to see hundreds of them on the beach (Magallanes and Gentoos penguins) , then we hike a short trail to see one viewpoint where it is even posible to see a King Penguin and we finally hike up to the breeding area of the Magallanes Penguins. You will see lots of them and you get those cute and lovely moments where they hang around you or just stand side by side. The tour takes about 7.5h in total and you do not feel rushed anytime. Piratour and Agustín did a great job!Written January 28, 2023
- johniegirl0 contributionsRather boringWhat was rather boring. We thought we were going to see penguins but all we saw were cormorants which look very similar to penguins and sea lions. The views were nice and colorful but not what we were wanting to see.Written January 22, 2023
- O8542GRmarkw0 contributionsDO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS LINK/OPERATOR!!Piratour which is the ONLY operator that offers walking with the penguins. SignatureTours does not have the authorization to run this tour, it is only done through Piratour. It seems this company takes your booking and then goes to Piratour. The price on this site is more than 2x the price vs Piratour. I had booked 3 months in advance and 3 days before my tour they told me to cancel and there was nothing they could do to help. Thankfully I reached out to Piratour and there was a cancelation so I was able to do the experience directly with them. For reference, this is the same link on Viator: https://www.viator.com/tours/Ushuaia/Walking-among-penguins-Experience-Martillo-Island-Penguin-Rookery/d933-11143P236Written January 10, 2023
- JohnVandeDam0 contributionsUnmissableBe sure to book only with Piratours - ideally directly at their office in the centre of Ushuaia. We had a terrible experience with cancellation of our trip (booked here!) via Grey Line - despite paying in full for a trip on a date shown online here as available. Luckily, that was not the fault of the actual operator Piratour and they were able to fit us in when we went there in person. However, although quite expensive, it was well worth the experience and the tour is respectful of nature & the environment.Written October 4, 2020
- B561DKjoeg0 contributionsGreat TourThis tour of the Beagle Channel, islands teeming with wildlife, the penguin colony and Estancia Harberton is well worth the time and money although we had a bit of a glitch in our tour. We had booked a tour on a small boat with 20 passengers. We were placed on a catamaran with three decks containing several hundred people. Bait and switch? Communication with Trip Advisor was poor. We thought we were with a company called Signature Tours, when we got to the pier the morning of departure, no one had heard of them. We spent about 30 minutes determining where we needed to be. We ended up with a company called Rombu Sur. The wind was blowing the day of our tour, so the channel was rough. The larger boat was more comfortable and we enjoyed our tour, especially of the museum at Harberton. Wonderful English speaking guides. We rode a comfortable bus back to Ushuaia. All in all we had a great day after a stressful start due to poor communication by Trip Advisor. None of the emails I sent were responded to by Trip Advisor. My advice? Wait until you are in Ushuaia and book your tour directly with the tour company and cut out the middle man! Shame on Trip Advisor.Written January 19, 2020
- kotsiakis0 contributionsCustomised tour BA and PatagoniaWe were a group of 17 people travelling to BA and Patagonia. Signature tours have helped us in organising this customised trip. Gabi who was our main contact and Eduardo as well were really attentive and always available for us. Highly recommend them!Written November 28, 2017
