Great drive, beautiful views, excellent food but a little cramped
This was a great day out along an interesting and beautiful route in a 4x4 vehicle. The driver/guide was knowledgeable and informative and went out of his way to be pleasant and helpful. The lunch stop was a pleasant surprise - great food and wine on the house - a cabin in the woods! We enjoyed the whole day immensely. The only slight downside was that the car was cramped with six passengers, especially when we hit the rough roads. For the price, I’d say you should not have anyone in the middle of a rather narrow back seat. It would be virtually impossible for even slightly bulky people, which none of us were.

Taking in Tierra del Fuego National Park on land and sea
We had a wonderful time canoeing and hiking at Tierra del Fuego National Park! Neither the hike nor the canoeing was very difficult, so it was nice to be able to take in all the scenery! The guides made getting to and around the park seamless, and a nice hot lunch in the middle was a pleasant treat! Would highly recommend!

    Wonderful Eco Adventure Day
This was a terrific trip from start to finish. Pickup was timely, the guides were friendly, informative and helpful and lunch was excellent (and enormous!) The paddling was not too demanding and we were fortunate to have decent weather and to see a great deal of wildlife. Truly a first rate outfit.

    Excellent excursion
Excellent experience. The guide, Franco, was very friendly and with great knowledge of the area, also very expert in driving the 4X4 truck through the uncovered area. The excursion includes lunch and Patagonian wine, which were provided inside a cabin located in a wooded area. It really was a great experience, and the guide put his humor and joy into this excursion. Beautiful Lakes Escondido y Fangano

Great Introduction to Tierra del Fuego
Ana was a fantastic guide and gave us a great introduction to the history, plants, and animals/birds of the area! There's a stop for tea/coffee, and lunch is very good complete with wine. The trail is only strenuous a bit at the very end before lunch. I only wish that the river was a bit higher and the wind less strong as our "canoe" got stuck on rocks several times, and our canoe team needed to work together to get the eight of us free!

    Great active day out
Very pleasant and easy 3.5h trek through a forest in the national park followed by an ok lunch and good canoeing. No paddling experience necessary, waterproof pants and boots provided, enjoyable but quite windy on the water. Daniel did a good job as a guide and Mauri made sure we’re safe on the water. You also make it to the end of the RN3, last part of Panamericana highway stretching all the way from Alaska, what’s not to like about that?!

    Leisurely trip out of Ushuaia
Laura is a great guide with a PhD in local biology she’s the person to talk about fauna and flora of the area. She’s given us great explanations throughout the day plus we walked quite a bit soaking the views in. On top of that the lunch was fantastic, a lot of tasty food and great wine. Highly recommend

It was a great tour. Tamara provided fantastic commentary, views and lunch were beautiful, while canoeing and trekking not strenuous. Together with amazing fellow travellers it was an extremely memorable trip. Highly recommend!

The best tour of Tierra del feugo park
The tour of the company piratour was the best. The guide Juan was very knowledgeable professional and friendly . The canoeing was exciting, followed by a beautiful trek in the park. The driver Augustine was great and prepared for us wonderful chicken stew for lunch.

    4WD Sardines in a Can
Picked up from the hotel and my seat in the four wheel drive vehicle was in the back row, suitable for children but not for an adult who has paid good money to do a 4 WD trip. I shared the seat with a young lady who had a bad leg and was really struggling. There was very little leg room and very limited visibility out the tiny rear side window. The guy in front of us was not happy with the situation and said there was no way he was spending 6 hours cramped in the small space. I certainly felt like a “sardine in a can”. If you are going to put 6 people including a driver in a vehicle it needs to be a large 4 WD like a Toyota Landcruiser. The customer who was not happy with the situation asked to be taken back to his hotel with his partner as they would not be participating. The driver explained that at each stop we would be swapping seats so that we all got a fair chance, but he was still not happy and we dropped the two off. We were able to rearrange the seating with just the driver and 4 passengers: 1 passenger up front and 3 in the middle row, rotating the person sitting in the middle, since the back row was so uncomfortable and had such poor views. I felt for the first half of the trip that I was on a tour bus with the constant running monologue that seemed canned. There was a lot of driving, probably 40 minutes on sealed roads, then another 30-40 minutes on a dirt road, before we got to the lake and started real 4WD. The first stop on the sealed road was an overlook of a lake, which we skipped due to weather, stopping there on the return instead, showing good flexibility. At the second stop we got to walk along the lake, stretching our legs and admiring the views. The third leg of driving to our lunch stop included some moderate 4WD in mud ruts, deep puddles and the shallows of the lake; before being dropped off for a hike along the lake while they prepared the lunch. Lunch was delicious and the highlight of my trip, we had bread, cheese and sausage with olives and egg plant followed by a very tasty sausage sandwich, then the steaks which were huge with salad and potatoes. Desert was a very tasty local bread pudding. Lots of local Malbec wine in a shed in the middle of the Forrest and we got to see a grey fox who appeared outside the window just after we had finished the meal. The 4WD driving just before and after lunch was fun and I wish we could of done more of it in a bigger 4 WD. I would recommend that it would of been worth paying more to have a private tour and if we return that is what we would do.

Beautiful area and great experience with Canal
Great experience and beautiful country. Many people just head west to the national park. But this area was stunning. Thought Canal did a great job with the trip- was very easy to check their site for trip options, they were very responsive by email and answered my questions quickly, was easy to book and pay. They arrived perfectly on time. Their vehicles were very comfortable and reliable, which I'd appreciate later when another outfitter vehicle broke down and left us stranded on the road for a while. The guides were very friend and super knowledgeable. I learned a lot about the area on my first day. The best part was the lunch they provided at a private cabin along the shore. It was like a 4 course meal, not just a snack. Was a great trip all around.

Gorgeous views and a delicious meal
We saw gorgeous views of lakes and shorelines you cannot see without an 4x4 jeep - and had a delicious meal!

    Great trip, horrible guide!
The trip itself was very good! Beautiful hike, good food and wine, fun boat ride. The reason for rating of 3 was the guide on the hike. Note there was 1 guide for the hike and 1 for the boat. There absolutely should have been two guides for both sections. Not sure why they did not utilize both guides for both parts. During the hike an older gentleman with a leg issue fell behind. Our group of 4 (family) stayed behind to help him get through the tough terrain. At one point the guide asked if we could stay together more and not stop to take pictures. He was clueless as to what was going on at the back of line (total 14 people). We continued to lag behind helping this man. I then caught up with the rest and told the guide none of us are stopping to take pictures and let him know the struggles of the man. He seemed concerned and said he should check on him but…he just stood there. I then went back to find my family and the man. Come to find out the man and his spouse got lost because we got too far ahead. My family found them a bit shaken but unharmed. We then caught up just as the guide was coming to look for us. There was some confusion amongst the group who thought it was my family that was holding up the group. They kept telling us to move to the front. We tried telling them it was not us and both the guide and other members of the group got stern with us. There was a bit of a confrontation and we told the guide there should have been 2 of them and that we were doing his job for him. Later the guide pulled one family member to the side and said he should never disrespect him in front of the group!!! This was completely uncalled for! If not for our family the gentleman struggling would have fell (we caught him at least twice) and he would have been lost, yet we were pinged as the bad people. I am writing this the day after our trip and all of us had a hard time sleeping due to being so bothered by how the guide handled this situation. As for the boat, we had one guide who was awesome!! Great personality and very informative. However, we were out in two boats and one boat had to use a guest to steer. You absolutely had to know what you were doing and thank goodness the guest did. Again, why were there not 2 guides this entire trip is beyond all of us! Unsafe, unsafe, unsafe!!!!

    Great experience
This was a great, moderate hike followed by a group canoeing (it was more of a raft) trip in a stunning location. I was very impressed by lunch - it included a variety of appetizers, wine, a filling meal, and dessert. This was a great, well-organized way to see a bit of Patagonia. Our guide was very helpful with his answers to our questions about the indigenous people and local history.

Valentin was an excellent guide for our group of 12 adults and teens. The pace of the hike was comfortable and enjoyable for all. During our breaks for water/snacks, he would pull out maps and field guides about the flora and fauna and he was able to answer a wide range of questions. Lunch was simple, delicious, generous, and served by pleasant people, including Valentin. Paddling the river in rafts was peaceful and not challenging. We only wished we had known that waders would be provided instead of buying and packing waterproof pants that we didn't need. It was a lovely day in a gorgeous setting.

We enjoyed this trip very much. Our guide, Norbi, was personable and had tons of knowledge about the flora and fauna. We did several reasonable hikes and then had lunch in a yurt. Freshly-cooked food was tasty and wine was also provided. Our entire group had fun. Canal Fun is highly recommended!

Canal Fun is an excellent tour company with excellent communication with their clients. Upon receipt of the tour payment, they already sent me a whatsapp message letting me know that I can contact them via whatsapp in case of anything urgent. They also whatsapp me the day before the tour to confirm the meeting time at their office. I’m very impressed with how they really utilise technology instead of only sticking with the old style emailing system!

There were only 5 of us in the tour on that day and it was a nice cosy group. I’m very glad that they still run the tour with only the 5 of us. Flor the tour guide speaks perfect English, she was very patient with us, my hubby was sick on the day and she slowed down the pace for him and always checking to make sure he’s alright, and this I truly appreciate, this is beyond customer service! :)

Flor is very knowledgeable about the national park and she’s into photography, so you sure can trust her with your camera should you need some group photos taken by her!

We had lunch in the dome tent and it was very warm inside, Flor said they have recently inserted some insulation in the tent to keep the customers warm during lunch, how considerate is that!
Lunch was barbecue chicken with some simple entrees and salad, cooked by the driver and they were delicious!

Canal Fun definitely has made our stay in Ushuaia an unforgettable one! I highly recommend Canal Fun and Flor to anyone visiting Ushuaia!

We did the half-day Tierra del Fuego National Park Tour but didn't dos lunch but the nicely presented drinks while watching anMagellanic Woodpecker just yard away was perfect. It was the 6th Canal Fun Tour we had done having first come across the company 14 years ago. The tours were excellent then and when we needed an individually tailored tour in February, we contacted them again. Noting was too much trouble. Making the arrangements, the booking and payment were all a dream and Carlos in the office was just so helpful.

And as for the tour itself, that was amazing. A trek through great scenery of Tierra del Fuego with one of their expert guides a great experience. Timing was perfect and also the arrangements for our baggage as we were in transit worked seamlessly.

Full marks to everyone at Canal Fun. I have no hesitation in recommending them and would most certainly contact them again if I was in Ushuaia.

Thanks to everyone

Our guide, Florencia, was particularly knowledgeable and personable. We had a large group (12), set up as a private tour and she made the day interesting and enjoyable for everyone - a challenge with the large age and fitness range of our group. The lunch was outstanding. Highly recommended.

This was a really great half-day tour that included hiking through Tierra Del Fuego National Park and ended with a delicious lunch. Valentin was a wonderful and enthusiastic guide throughout. It was so much more fun to tour with a small group and stay away from the tourist crowded areas. I definitely recommend this company. You will not be disappointed. Wish I'd had more time to do other tours with them.

This was a well organized and interesting tour with lovely landscapes and pleasant easy walking. The guide Joaquin was really friendly and there were some very nice personal touches like he took professional quality photos during the tour and sent them to us by Whatsapp (no charge). He also shared his Mate with us and explained how to make it and shared some home-made chocolates. He was well-informed about the flora and fauna. We saw the main points of interest of the National park. The lunch was delicious.

Arranged a private tour because of limited time frame. Frasco was our guide. His knowledge of not only the Park but also the history of the area was outstanding. He readily answered all questions, was a great driver, and helped is to enjoy the area. I would strongly recommend Canal Fun to other visitors.
