7:30 am from Calafate, we will take the mythical Route 40 along Lake Argentino, cross the Santa Cruz River (Here we will tell Darwin's experiences with Fitz Roy going up this river until very close there), then we will continue until Río La Leona, where we will pass through its canyon until arriving after 1 hour 15 minutes, to the old hotel of the Paso La Leona route (almost a museum of Route 40), where you can have coffee with homemade cakes, from there we will continue bordering the Lake Viedma - having the Andes Mountains in the background (Including Fitz Roy and the Tower). Before reaching the town we will stop at the Viedma Glacier viewpoint from where you can see a beautiful panoramic view of the Glacier, the Cordillera and the emblematic Cerro Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. We will arrive at the mountain village of El Chaltén after 3 hours of travel, having traveled 220 kms.
