Itinerary
- 1The tour starts with the passengers pick up from their hotels in El Calafate, to travel toward the Cordón de Huyliche, where the base of the chairlift is. Depending on the choice, we can take the tour that starts at 09 AM or at 04 PM from the hotels of the passengers. Once at the base of the chairlift, we will begin to ascend, as we enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the Argentino Lake. At the top, which is 1100 meters above sea level, a 4x4 vehicle will take us to the Stone Labyrinth, a formation dating from the Cretaceous era and that is about 85 million years old. Among the highlights that we can see from the viewpoint are: the Perito Moreno Glacier, the Chalten Hills and El Calafate After you have soaked in the essence of Patagonia, we will descend to the Stone of Hats, curious iron formation, that only can be found in 4 locations around the world. From here we will come back to El Calafate. The tour lasts approximately 3 hours, so if you chose the morning tour, will be coming to the hotel around 12 PM, while for the afternoon tour the estimated return time is at 07 PM

- cachalotetours0 contributionsAn unforgettable experienceA dream come true, meet this marvelous and incredible glacier. I spent 2 hours just watching the ice and waiting till the collpase. It was freezing (2 C) but I loved it! I need to come back again!Written January 27, 2024
- 43argentinat0 contributionsThe highlight of our 3 week trip in ArgentinaWe rented a car and were able to take our time at each spot we stopped throughout the park. We took the boat tour to touch the glacier and I am glad we took the time to do that. The boardwalks were amazing and we will all the ones that were open which I think were the blue, green and orange. With each step and angle you see something different. It was a full 9 hour day at the park for us. We took our own food as there was only a snack bar open when we were there.Written October 14, 2023
- BruceM1470 contributionsIn our top ten walks--in the world. But take this approach! When Covid finally allowed us to go to Patagonia, the Fitz Roy walks were our first five-night stop. We chose shoulder season to reduce the crowds and were blessed with perfect weather. There were enough trails to easily accommodate our good luck. As for the walk to Fitz Roy, we did some reading and chose to start up Rte 40 just past El Pilar at Rio Electric trailhead. (We had a car--highly recommended luxury). This avoided the crowds leaving from out of the town and in our opinion, the much more scenic initial approach. At 70 and 68, we are not destination hikers, but rather seek hikes filled with beauty all along the way. We've walked all over the world, but this ties for first place. The famous peaks and spires, glaciers and their lakes and rivers, lingua forest, river valleys... The last bit is shared with those hiking the out-of-town route and got crowded. It gets you to the lake below the glacier and peaks. A steep up-and-down of one km each way. Worth it for many but an afterthought for us.Written April 7, 2023
- Meghrik A0 contributionsVERY DISORGANIZED. ZERO RESPECT FOR PEOPLE’s TIME AND PLAN.DO NOT RECOMMEND! We all booked this activity for 8 am along with our friend who is traveling with us, and now all of a sudden a day before our trekking activity, they are telling us they will pick us up at 11 am three hours after our friend who is staying in the same hotel with us. After informing them we would need to be picked up at the same time, they refused using the excuse of “The time of your pick up depends on the location of your hotel”, even though we are all staying in the same hotel. We did not fly across the continent and pay more than $600/person for a single day activity to be treated like this. We will be seeking a full refund from TripAdvisor.Written December 24, 2022
- HeritageWalksZagreb0 contributionsInteresting facts about carnival in Riowe had a great time and we learned a lot. At the end, there was a pleasant surprise. We highly recomend this tourWritten February 2, 2022
- kim5370 contributionsBus tourNarration good, but bus very crowded and many audio hookups were broken. Actual tour routes very good. Buenos Aires is a huge old city. A problem with tickets was resolved onsite but only because a bystander was kind enough to translate the problem with downloading the ticket. The actual bus personnel were not helpful at all and simply refused us passage.Written February 27, 2020
- gordonpoynter0 contributionsForget negative reviewsWe did most of the routes.Staff excellent,good value for money,modern buses.Could use a British voice on the commentary.Small complaint.Written February 13, 2020
- A3064DEjulias0 contributionsGreat way to get a birds eye view of the cityGo early! We got to the bus stop first - thank goodness. Behind us was a long line. They only accept Argentine Pesos. Most of the tourists had to find a bank and get Pesos. The top had a small area that is air conditioned. I sat in that part due to the heat and sun and my sister sat on the top without the AC. She got a sunburn but better pics. Be sure to have a hat and sunscreen if you ride on top. We spent 3 hours on the bus for the red and blue routes. Every stop we made there was a long line waiting to get on the bus but we had no room. The audio was poor and after a while we gave up listening to the garble. We did get a great overview of the city. It was a perfect way to see a lot in a short amount of time. We did not have time to do the green route but wished we could have continued. If you have one day or a week in beautiful Buenos Aires, it is worth the time at the beginning of your trip. It helps you get your bearings and you can decide what you want to see up close.Written January 26, 2020
- 668virginiaf0 contributionsNot to missFamily of ten, we enjoyed the trip very much. Amazing all we saw. The boat was confortable and explanations in english spanish and portuguese were interesting Lunch was quite poorWritten January 9, 2020
- mcitaly20160 contributionsIdeal to see the cityIt is a bit expensive, but it gives you enough time and flexibility to see the main spots in this big city, and hop-on and hop-off when you want to see a bit more walking around. There are comments in many languages through the earplug they give you when going on board. The top floor is open. Tickets can be bought when entering the bus at each stop, but you may need cash in local currency. Otherwise you can buy through internet or at bus stop zero.Written January 5, 2020
- Perry S0 contributionsFun time experiencing and getting to know carnivalWe did not take this specific tour but did the carnival experience as part of another tour. The experience gave us an opportunity to understand better both the history and pageantry of carnival as well as the competition aspect of it. We had no idea about any of this. Not only was it informative, but a lot of fun. We would highly recommend including the carnival experience as part of one’s time in Rio.Written December 6, 2019
- laurar7050 contributionsGreat way to get an overview of the city.We took all the routes the bus offered. It was a great way to get an overview of the city. There was always a seat and the bus was timely. The headphones worked for English but they were not always as timely nor as informative as I would have liked. Overall if you want to really see the city I don’t recommend it. But if you want to get your bearings it is great.Written November 24, 2019

Saludos lectorestrip!!!
