Snap photos, enjoy the scenery, and listen to informative commentary about the UNESCO-listed Los Glaciares National Park before you arrive. Make several stops at scenic lookouts you might otherwise miss if you were focused on directions and navigation.  Once you arrive, walk on the glacier's wooden walkways and take directions from your guide to some of the nearby hiking trails. Your guide also points out parts of the glacier prone to calving: chunks of ice rupturing off the face of the glacier and cascading into Lago Argentino. Opt for a boat tour from Bajo Las Sombras, which sails between floating ice chunks of every size and crosses the Rico Arm of Argentino Lake.  Drop-off back in Calafate makes for a door-to-door, stress-free experience.

          Great experience
Our guide Nico was incredibly friendly and helpful. Some of the other staff were a bit pushy to rush everyone through each section, however overall a great experience

          Unforgettable experience
After a slow start with pick-ups & waiting to get tickets at the park I had a great day. The guides & staff were knowledgeable, helpful & friendly. We had 90 minutes on the platforms self-guilded, it was a good suggestion by the company to take your own lunch & sit with a view of the glacier. We then boarded the boat for an unforgettable trip past ice bergs to the other side to walk up to the edge of the glacier. On the way back the boat went along the face of the glacier, it was spectacular, to top it off they served liquor & chocolate. The company seemed like a large well organised company.

          Once in a lifetime experience
It is definitively worth the effort to take the BigIce tour! The landscapes are magnificent, we literally saw a natural cave and a waterfall in the glacier. For people with generally good physical condition, it is fine. If you are unable to hike uphill don t go, take the minitrekk option

Skip these brokers - book direct
We booked a kayak trip through Tangol and were disappointed with the customer service. We booked over a month in advance and we were notified by WhatsApp 2 days before our scheduled tour that our tour was canceled due to “a mistake of our website” and we had to rework all our travel plans to switch to a tour on a different date. It is high season so we couldn’t get a last minute tour with another operator. Tangol subcontracted out the rescheduled tour to a local operator. The tour was great but we didn’t realize that Tangol was just a tour broker. We should have booked directly,

          Can’t miss experience
We had a wonderful day at Nibepo Aike Estancia. The place is absolutely beautiful and calming. After the shuttle ride to the property we had some coffee, and chatted with some of the other guests. Our guide Julieta was warm and charming, she took us to different parts of the estancia for a short hike to see the property then demonstrations by the guachos working there, milking a cow, taking the sheep to pasture, sheering a sheep. We then enjoyed a nice lunch plenty of food, then a horseback ride for three hours. The riding was great, the horses are very calm and easy to ride, and the property is just incredible with fantastic views. Highly recommend!

          Trip of a lifetime.
Not sure where to begin, this is such an amazing trip. We were picked up at hotel and driven to the port for the boat , very friendly guide. The trip on the boat was fantastic, some snacks and drinks but wow , breathtaking views , to be honest words can’t describe how amazing . When we arrived at the Estancia we went on 4x4 drive to view point and the guide gave us lots of info . The lunch was unbelievable and the serving staff so friendly . We then had a tour around the museum and learnt about The Masters family . This has been such an enjoyable trip , memories I will treasure . Thank you to all staff who were friendly and so informative.

          Great views of a Glacier
The views of the glacier are amazing and the place is a must to visit, difficult to describe the experience, just bring something to eat as there is nothing there and you will be hungry after all the walking

Excellent tour of El Chaltén from El Calafate
El Chalten Full-Day from El Calafate with Lunch is an excellent day tour of EL Chalten from El Calafate. We were able to see the Andes Mountains, a waterfall, and condors. We also encountered the first snow of the season. Although we booked late (the day before the tour), the tour was able to accommodate my vegetarian requirements for lunch.

Good option if no mini-trekking availability
The best you can do if there is no chance of doing the mini-trekking. You get to touch the Glacier. At the end there is a surprise.

          Fantastic opportunity
Highly recommended, from the friendly welcome with coffee and cake; through the variety of interesting and well explained activities about the history and running of the estancia; and the delicious lamb asado to finish. Such a pleasure to be made welcome to this estancia and to ride in this spectacular setting. Top marks to all. (Good to know that you may wait 30/40 m after pick up time as people are collected from a variety of different accommodation)

Good way to see the town
Very friendly. Lots of information over varied sites. Disappointed that the time advertised was incorrect, it meant we wasted a day.

Rough ride out to the estancia, but worth it!
You had a wonderful day at the estancia Nebepo Aike! The head gaucho Goncalvo was a excellent host and gave us a detailed briefing on the estancia and what it does. The area is beautiful and very remote. Out horses were gentle but responsive and had an interesting ride. Lunch was excellent and the demonstrations of sheep shearing and horse barrel racing very interesting.

Amazing scenic hike of a natural wonder not far from Calafate
Amazing and seemingly underrated day trek. I don’t understand how this isn’t a more popular trek for people staying in El Calafate. We absolutely loved the hike - around 3 hours in total, and not too far from town. The petrified forest is an amazing canyon with fossils and petrified wood. A true geological wonder that doesn’t get enough attention. Leo was a fantastic guide and I would highly recommend this!

BEWARE - YOUR BOOKED TRIP MAY BE CANCELLED AT THE LAST MINUTE
My partner and I went to El Calafate specifically to do this tour. We booked in and received confirmation of our booking. On the day that we arrived at El Calafate we were notified by email that the trip had been cancelled. No good reason was provided. We spent 3 hours trying to get onto another mini-trek but nothing was available. In the end we did not do a Mini-trek. We were extremely disappointed to say the least. It is extremely unlikely that we will ever get back to El Calafate so this opportunity was lost. So if I were you I would not book with Viator for this trip in case you are cancelled at the last minute like us.

Wonderful to see if you have never seen a glacier before. The walkways along the face of the glacier are long and varied enough to last you most of the day and are weel designed, safe and secure. The ambulant walkways are much shorter, but wheelchair access with some views are possible.
The glacier itself is not as big as I expected and as we went in the equivalent of mid Autumn, the snows had not started to fall, so in essence we saw a glacier surrounded by bare mountains, but when the mountains are covered in snow it will be much more spectacular.

It was a good trip I was disappointed we thought we were going to get to walk on the glacier unfortunately that activity was not available since it’s winter time and it can be dangerous. I wished that it would have stated that in the description. I think it would have been cheaper if we rented a vehicle and had gone on our own. Overall it was a great experience to take pictures and learn about the Perito Moreno Glacier. Our guide was excellent and extremely knowledgeable about the region.

Very well executed half day tour of Perito Moreno Glacier from Calafate. Tour operator, Austral Sur, was knowledgeable about the environmental conditions related to the glacier and the history of its discovery. It is visible from various angles due to the walkways, some of which are convenient for people with limited mobility. The boat tour gives an up close view of the glacier face, including some small calving of the face into the lake. Highly recommended tour if you only have a half day.

This is so good!!! I was picked up at my hotel and literally didn’t have to worry about anything. I was informed days prior about what I would need and everything was so smooth. Nadia, our guide was amazing and had so much energy and charisma and really made it special. I had so much time to walk around the park. The boat tour was really cool to see the glaciers so close. Such a cool experience

The Driver (Marcelo)and the Tour guide (Natalia) were very professional and friendly. Natalia was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of relevant information of the area. The views of the Glacier from the pasarela (Red and Yellow )were outstanding. The best views are form the yellow pasarela, the red takes you to a different angle and lower views of the Glacier. I opted to take the boat when I got there to experience being a little closer to the Glacier. Even though it was a good experience, you can see the same views from the Yellow pasarela. The thunder sound that makes when is breaking is amazing! When I was there on 4/30/18, a perfect weather day, I saw small ice breakings and heard one long 'thunder' sound that took my breath away. The autumn colors were very nice as a prelude to the view of the Glacier.

This is an amazing day trip. After a bus ride of about 1.5 hours from El Calafate through scenic terrain, the first stop was at a viewpoint overlooking the vast glacial icecap of which the Perito Moreno glacier is a small segment. This segment is not At all small when you are up and close to it, with walls soaring 70 metres above the lake. We were offered the add on of a one hour boat trip that cruises the leading edge of this vast glacier. Periodically pieces would calve off into the lake with a crackling boom. It was windy with smatterings of rain, so warm clothing was a must. We had the option of being on the open upstairs deck after we started, which provided the best views, and also exposure to the weather. After that we were taken to an overlook of the the glacier and were given two hours to roam. A network of trails comprised of elevated metal mesh provided a variety of options that took one down the hill, providing dramatic views of this extraordinary manifestation of nature. This is an experience not to be missed. The boat portion adds quite a bit of expense to the tour. While it adds to the experience, the views without that option are stellar from the view points, from which one can view the entire leading edge of the glacier, so I wouldn't say it was crucial.

The tour was very good in general. Guide Luciana gave interesting commentary throughout. We did the optional boat trip which was good and if you don’t you will be hanging around waiting for the people on the boat.
The only negative was after the boat we were taken back to the restaurant for an hour which wasn’t necessary we could have gone back.

Not to be missed! An absolutely stunning day drip to see the glacier. Marcelo & Natalia were our driver and tour guide. Natalia was very knowledgeable and friendly. I elected to go on the boat trip, which was good, but there was a biting wind on deck so be prepared- dress up very warmly- jacket, hat, maybe earmuffs (!) and gloves!! As we sailed we saw a cave at the far end of the glacier which we would not have seen from the walkways. There were 3 levels of difficulty on the walkway routes- all clearly marked. The feeling of getting up close to the glacier was amazing, and one can hear the ice cracking before breaking off and falling into the lake. The views overlooking the glacier with the ice sheets continuing into the horizon was magical, and with the sun glistening on the snow-capped Andes it made for the most wonderful day trip.

        Can not recommend enough if you travel to Argentina ,surely be there . The entry ticket to the park is dear and not usually included in the tour price . Two tips for a savvy ones;
Children go cheaper if you mention; And the second day entry tickets are half price so get your friend’s from the previous day for 50% discount ! The rest is an experience of a life time . We were very lucky had plenty food and drink picnic pack ups and best weather condition imaginable, sunny and warm , just one T shirt kind! ( apart few minutes on the Boat trip) .Talking Of which the boat trip though a bit cumbersome but worth is for the scale of the icebergs encountered during the trip. As it was a warm day they were lots of carving and ice falling which in itself was another amazing experience live. We sat down on a platform and camera pointed and patiently waiting and got the awesome clip too as a bonus.
The whole trip too a day as take some two hours transportation each way alone but the constant Beauty Of tge scenery will keep you going. Consumption of food was not allowed on the coach rightly so too. So have a nice breakfast before departure!
On a sunny day the blue light like illuminations on the ice fissures is very interesting , don’t miss it.
