I had a GREAT day out fishing for rainbows and brown trout with Fly Fishing Bariloche! They had great communication and let me know exactly what to bring and picked me up from my Air BNB at promptly 8:00 am, boat in tow. I was most impressed with the fact my guide was able to drive the trailer around those narrow winding streets like a pro! My guide Yair has lived almost his entire life in Bariloche where we went fishing and was very familiar with the fish and the river. He actually tied all the flies we used himself, and knows exactly what the fish like to bite. So, of course we caught fish! As hard as he worked to ensure I caught fish, I felt like it was guaranteed! My trip was on the Limay River as there was a wildfire near the Mansa River where I had originally booked my full day trip. Yair told me we would normally have the whole river to ourselves on the Mansa but to expect some other boats on the Limay. Well, I only saw two other boats fishing the river during our 8 hour trip, so we basically had the entire river to ourselves all day! The river was incredibly scenic and quiet, and the water was clear and beautiful. This was my first guided fly fishing trip. I do have some experience fly fishing but I definitely learned a lot and my guide was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. He often takes people out for their very first fly fishing experience and teaches them how to fly fish. He was comfortable showing me how to cast and where to put the fly, but he was just as comfortable rowing quietly and letting me do my thing without saying a word. How peaceful and enjoyable it all was. I would easily recommend this trip for all experience levels and personalities. Midway through the trip, we stopped for lunch on the riverbank and it was fantastic! The guide brought a little grill and cooked up fresh steaks and sausage and set up a wonderful lunch with a charcuterie board, salad, snacks, and drinks to included beer and wine if I wanted. I would have paid just for that alone! What a great experience! I highly recommend Fly Fishing Bariloche! I would love to do this trip again!

My family and I fished the Limay River in Feb. 2024. We used two drift boats. My 8yr old daughter, 11yr old son and wife all participated. We had a fabulous time...The guides, Nico and Dante were exceptional. Our lunch of salad, steak, fruit and wine on the river bank was top notch!!! Everyone caught fish thanks to the guides instruction and patience!!! Great time!

Fantastic experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. I went with my 11 year old son and we were both beginners. Very patient and we caught some fish! Would recommend to anyone.

Ok. So this was far and away my favorite experience in Argentina. I had planned a trip for my husbands 50th birthday, and our itinerary was planned accordingly. I didn't expect to have near as much fun as I did! Our guide was amazing. We were treated like royalty. I felt guilty not pitching in to help with the boat, meals, etc. but the staff waited on us hand and foot...it was almost shameful! I knew that the fishing would be a bit sparse in February, and indeed, it was. The river was beautiful, and I improved my fly fishing techniques under the fabulous tutelage of our guide, but I wouldn't say Argentina has anything on Alaska fish-wise. Also, we thought that a two day camp trip meant that we would travel two days down the river and camp as we went along. What actually happens is that you pull out of the river and re-camp at the same spot. Didn't bother me at all. Hubby would have preferred a more primitive experience. That said, I spent plenty of time swimming and drinking wine, so the tiny fish were just fine by me, and I would recommend this experience unequivocally!

Just returned from 2 weeks in Patagonia spent 11 days fishing with Trout Bariloche & really do not understand the negative reviews. We had them put together a custom trip which they patiently helped us plan in advance. 3 days camping & floating the Collon Cura, 3 days at a lodge on the Malleo, 3 days camping on the Manso & 2 days floating the Limay. I cannot express enough how well they looked after us down to every detail. All the guides spoke fluent English & put us onto some of the best fishing I have ever done not to mention the amazing scenery. By the way I am an experienced fly fisherman who has guided on home waters. Of the 11 days we fished we did not have one single bad day. So if you want to experience some great fishing, amazing scenery, pretty luxurious camping float trips with great food, wine & company I highly recommend Trout Bariloche which is a family run business that treats you like family. I will be going back!

My friend, John, and I hired Trout Bariloche to take us on two float trips on consecutive days. We had been on a 14-day Princess cruise around the horn, and flew from Buenos Aires to Bariloche for the final days of our vacation from the United States. JP (Jean Paul) was our guide. He took us to the Limay River the first day where we floated in a McKenzie drift boat. He took such good care of us, helping us resolve some of the deficiencies in our fly fishing skills (especially under windy conditions). The second day we floated the Manso River on the pontoon boat. JP provided a one-on-one casting lesson for John and showed me some tricks for managing line. JP also cooked us two awesome stream-side meals with wine, etc. The whole experience was incredible, like the cherry on top of our vacation. Trout Bariloche provided everything (although we bought our fishing licenses at the airport). Not having to drag rods, reels, flies, waders, boots, etc. from the U.S. was a huge luxury. All we had to do was show up and Trout Bariloche/JP did everything else. If you like fly fishing, especially in a foreign land, this is a bucket list activity.

I will start by saying that I did a lot of research and contacted many outfitters before going with Trout Bariloche to aid us in an awesome 40th birthday experience for my boyfriend. I am VERY happy with the choice I made and looking forward to another adventure! It was just my boyfriend and myself on a private 3-night/3-day camping and fishing trip with Trout Bariloche with Luciano and Lucas were absolutely AMAZING! Every detail of the trip was above and beyond, very enjoyable, and very thoughtful. We did not see another person the whole time we were on the river for three days. That was very nice and very special! We very much enjoyed our time with Luciano and Lucas, they were great hosts and provided a great time. The fishing with Luciano was very special, as we very much appreciated not only his guiding expertise but also his teaching and conversation. While visiting Patagonia and Argentina, Trout Bariloche provides not only a one of a kind fishing experience but also a very special cultural experience as well. While in the end we did catch so many fish and used a very large array of fishing techniques, we decided that the philosophy to fish by is not the amount or the size of the fish you catch, but rather the experience itself of being around awesome people sharing their expertise all while simply hanging out and being in Patagonia. I assure you, Trout Bariloche is who you are going to want to be with. Super awesome time! I can not say enough positive things about our experience with Trout Bariloche including before, during, and after our trip. The food was AMAZING!! Be sure to do the camping trip, very VERY special and you'll be sure to experience the super yummy and traditional asado! It is to die for! We enjoyed our trip so much that we are already talking about coming back next year! All and all, very amazing! Oh, and the scenery of course!! WOW! Do yourself a favor, I swear, and book this amazingly well run, skilled, and professional family company!!

We did a half day fly fishing trip on the Limay river and had a fabulous time. The guide, Juanito, was great and took care of everything for us. Being in the summer month, and fishing during the day, Juanito was concerned the fish would not bite. However, we had about 10 or so strikes, and reeled in 3 of them. The river was crystal clear, and the surroundings very rugged but still pretty to look at. They provided sandwiches for lunch and Juanito and I talked for about 30 minutes on several cultural topics and the differences between our two countries (which we should all do). There were also snacks to munch on a few beers as well. Suggestion – if you want a few more beers or some wine for the trip, pick up some on your way to take with you. Also, in the summer, be sure to wear sunscreen or protective clothing. The sun was very intense in February. Oh, I failed to mention that this was the first time my wife and I every fly fished. Juanito did a fantastic job of teaching us the techniques and the “art” of fly fishing. He is very passionate about the sport. Gracias Juanito. Me la mayor parte lo siento me se rompio uno de sue pesca postes de. (sorry I broke one of your fishing poles)

Juan Pablo did a great job of putting my travelling companion (a beginner) on fish and served up an excellent stream side meal of steak, veggies and wine. We threw big dries at rainbows and browns for two days in some of the clearest, cleanest water you will find surrounded by beautiful scenery. Floating the Rio Limay was a lot of fun even though we went before the spawning runs of big browns the watershed is known for.

Neither of us knew how to fly-fish before the trip, but through the guidance of the highly skilled guides we quickly learned, and caught lots of fish. We ended up never using the spinners that we had asked them to bring as we had way much more fun fly-fishing. We had two different guides which both had immense knowledge of the river and they were both super nice. The food, drinks and camping was all of the absolute highest standard. The communication before the trip was by far the most professional of the ones we were in dialogue with, and we highly recommend this awesome family run operation.

I highly recommend this family outfit. My wife and I were looking a two days overnight fly fishing trip around Bariloche and stumbled on Trout Bariloche by luck. Luck did us good... we had a fantastic 2 days on the river, Trout Bariloche is a Family ran outfit which aims to please. Camila runs the bookings and is incredibly responsive (speaks and write English very well), the food is also prepared by the family and was truly excellent. The campsite was way above expectation as was the food. As for the fishing, it was very good even if we were past the height of the season, and Juanito, our guide, was highly skilled, pleasant, funny and a great host. If life takes you near Bariloche, I highly recommend using these guys. We will be going back very soon.

My son and I just spent 9 days fly fishing and camping on rivers and lakes in Patagonia with the folks from Trout Bariloche. It was an absolutely incredible experience from beginning to end. These guys are best in class. Trout Bariloche is a family run business that includes the entire Medina family and numerous guides. They were extremely responsive, reliable and attentive to our every need. I had worked with them for several months to arrange the trip. Emanuel and Camilla were always quick to reply to every email I sent and went out of their way to listen to the type of experience we wanted and customize the trip to those wishes. They put a truly personal touch to our trip and the result far exceeded our expectations. Juan Cruz looked after us for the entire time we were in the country. He was constantly watching the weather forecasts to determine where the best fishing conditions would be and modified the trip as we went to put us in the best fishing conditions. He also carefully selected guides that he thought would work best with us on the different waters. He succeeded with every single recommendation. Every single one of the guides were experts on the local waters. They not only put us on numerous and very sizable fish, but they provided just the right amount of instructions when and where appropriate. On top of that, they were all friendly and fun to be with. We truly enjoyed our time with them both on the water and in camp. The scenery was stunning and the camping facilities were very comfortable. The food and wine was unbelievable and plentiful. The fishing was just plain incredible. I had been planning and dreaming of this trip for a long time and it far exceeded our expectations. Both my son and I left feeling we had made some great friends. If you are looking to fly fish in this area of Patagonia, there is not a better outfitter. We brought our own fishing gear and some limited camping equipment but it is not necessary as they have everything you will need for a great fishing and camping trip. We also brought our own cameras but they took lots of pictures with their equipment that they are sending to us. Trout Bariloche is a reliable outfitter that will make sure you have a great experience. I can not recommend them highly enough regardless of the length of your trip or your fly fishing experience level.

I booked in December for a days fishing a month ahead. We are beginners and they recommended the Manso River. The day before they cancelled and offered an alternative which their guide said was not suitable They are unreliable and I am sure there are other companies that do not let you down at the last minute.

My wife and I just completed a 3 day camping trip fishing the Manso River with Trout Bariloche. It was hands down the highlight of our trip to Argentina. I’ve fly fished all over the western part of the US from Alaska down to New Mexico and nothing I’ve ever done compares to this. Not only is it incredible fishing - the scenery is idyllic. Crystal clear water and verdant greenery with the snow-capped Andes in the background. We were treated with the utmost hospitality the entire trip. The food, wine, and company were all terrific. The weather, unfortunately, was very unseasonably cold and wet, but we were outfitted with gear that kept us dry and comfortable despite the conditions. Juanito was a very skilled and patient guide that knows the local waters like the back of his hand and can help anyone catch more and bigger fish. I highly recommend Trout Bariloche and we’ll use them again on our next trip to Argentina.
