Such a long drive
Feb 2020
A very long drive on very poor roads. Weather was terrible terrible but not companies fault . All on our minibus had different times from 8AM until 9:30 so lots of waiting around. Marina tour guide was good gave us lots of information about the area, the driver wAs good on poor roads . But we saw only a few penguins and the seals in the distance . Too far and a very uncomfortable journey with not a lot to see on an unvaried Patagonia landscape for miles.

Very beautiful scenery
You get exposed to miles of Patagonian desert including driving on gravel roads. Maybe not for everyone but I enjoyed it a lot. Mary the guide knew everything and communicated beautifully including a slight Scottish accent. Diego the driver tried hard to make the gravel roads go smoothly. Lunch was just what we ordered. Wild life: lots and lots of guanacos and even a mara. The Penguins were mostly on the beach away from people but several came up closer so I got a few good shots. Elephant seals not numerous and far but we did have binoculars. Sea lions very far off. This was late February. The tour company made it plain that they would get us back to the ship. About 60% of ship shore excursion cost. Recommend highly

Great animal watching
Feb 2020
We were able to see a lot of wildlife on this tour: elephant seals, maras, guanacos, choiques, and Magellan penguines. Our guide gave us a lot of information about the area and of course the animals that we saw. The tour was well organized and the guide very knowledgeable and organized. The only draw back was the long ride to and from the penguin area.

Wildlife on Península Valdés
Feb 2020 • Couples
Reps from Sentir were on the pier to meet us where we were directed to an awaiting minibus. All people on this excursion happened to be on our ship. Fortunately, all guests got off the ship quickly and we were on our way.

Our tour guide Mary immediately asked when we needed to be back on board so that she could make good use of the time.

Mary has lived in this part of Argentina for many years (30 I believe), speaks perfect English and is extremely knowledgeable. Once on the peninsula, after the stop at the visitor's center for views and bathroom. we saw guanaco (alot throughout the day), a burrowing owl, maras and more. We saw the Magallanic penguins at the stop dedicated and while there, we were treated to a flock of Chilean Flamingos flying by (so look up every so often!).The next stop was the overlook to see sea lions and the final stop was to see the elephant seals. At this final stop, there is a nice bathroom facility. We had enough time at all the stops, the last one, we had ample time to walk all the trails (which at the overlook of the long trail, we saw a few more penguins in the distance).

The snack lunch was basic but we weren't here for that. When we got back into town, we were a little early and so Mary asked if we would like a quick City tour.

I think the tour was worth the cost. I had a great time and would recommend! The pictures are some of the wildlife we saw.

Great time. Pick up at port was smooth. Be prepared for some long rides over unpaved ,but good roads. Driver and guide (Martin) were great about stopping to view various wildlife along the way. Good viewing of penguins and sea lions - but at a distance. Added bonus of a brief city tour before returning to port.

If your ship is unable to dock you will not be refunded
Feb 2020
I have never given a one star review before. However the lack of response from this company required this rating. We were scheduled for a tour on 1/28/2020 due to poor weather conditions our ship was unable to dock. I totally understand the company's 3 day cancellation policy and understood that I would not receive a refund. However I have emailed the company twice to request documentation for my credit card insurance (to get a refund) and there has been no response. Since the company charged me $507.40USD and did need to provide a tour, I don't think that asking the company for a letter stating that we were unable to tour due to weather conditions is unreasonable. Sadly I will not be able to get a refund from my credit card insurance company because I can't get a letter from this company.

Shore excursion
We saw penguins up close, and seals from a distance. We also got to see some alpacas and owls.
It was well organised, and the guide and driver were lovely.

However, as other reviews have pointed out, it is a long drive there and back making it a long day.

We had a great time on this tour. The guide, driver and bus were helpful in every way. We managed to see a lot of wildlife. We had plenty of opportunities to take photos, and see wildlife up close. We never felt rushed and were generally felt cared for...

See the Penguins
The highlight was seeing the penguins, which we were able to do up close. Amazing how they just stood there and let us take our pictures. Also saw Sea Lions and seals. Biggest negative is the two hour drive to get there and another two hours to get back. Most of it on bumpy, gravel, dirt roads...which was not the most comfortable. Had a okay lunch at a local restaurant. Served a salad and meat. Some tables got meat and French fries...we were not given a choice. Also had some red wine. Many liked it, but we were not impressed. In retrospect, we might have preferred a boat trip around the peninsula and taken our photos from the boat...would have been more comfortable.

Penguins, elephant seals and fur seals.
Dec 2019
It was very easy to find the tour operator when we stepped off the boat, however due to taking photos and chatting etc, by the time we had walked to the end of the long pier we actually got on the wrong minibus! We made friends with all the other passengers, and just before take off, a tour guide came on and checked the names, and found we were on the wrong bus. THis could easily be solved by having the passenger names stuck on the front of the bus as we had on another tour.
Our guide was enthusiastic and chatty and gave us lots of information. It was a long long drive, a lot of it over gravel roads.
We didn't have to walk far to see the penguins, and were pretty close to them, although due to the time of day minimal activity was going on. We had plenty of time, and then drove for another while to see the elephant seals. It was a bit confusing as we were given our lunch pack when the bus stopped. It was about half past one by then, so past lunch time for all of us cruise ship passengers used to 3 course meals on tap!! We walked off the bus to eat our picnic, but were roused at by a man, and made to return to the bus to eat. I understand the reason why, it was due to the risk of rubbish being blown around in the national park, but I thought we could have eaten during the bus ride, or at least told not to get off with it.
The elephant seals were way below us on the beach and I was glad I had binoculars, but wished I had a better camera. Many people were snapping away with their zoom lenses as the young bulls did play fighting in the shallow waves along the beach. The scenery was beautiful.
There was one last stop on the way back at The Pyramids to see the fur seals, also on the beach below, but once more magnificent scenery.
A few people on the bus were a bit concerned about the time, as we had been told on starting that we would be back by 3:30, but it was past that as we stopped at the fur seals. We got back at 4:30, half an hour before we needed to get back on the ship, but it would have been enthusiastic to think that we could have gone into the souvenir shop that the guide pointed out.
It was a good day out. We did get to see the penguins, elephant seals and fur seals, but it was a very long drive!
