        Don't miss this tour
Great tour, the Guide Leonard is amazing, informative, helpful and kind. It was planned very well, and the Driver's Eric and Leo did a great job. Highly recommend the tour.

        Simply Breathtaking
About 45 minutes from Humahuaca up a fairly treacherous unpaved "road" the view is well worth the effort. You can get a hire up to the top, but it's a tough drive, we opted for the tour from Humahuaca with a guide and 4-wheel drive for Pesos 15k (about $15) and took 2 12 hours. There are a few local food stalls and a small artisan craft market. This is another must destination see in NW Argentina. The start point at Hunahuaca has a large artisan craft market and shows a typical view of rural Argentine life and is worth a stop too.

        A Very Long Bus Ride
Whilst our guide was extremely enthusiastic, and I don’t feel good being negative about this trip, it was a small catalogue of minor disappointments. Initial communication was confused; having been advised that pickup times would be 0700-0745 we got a message the night before advising that it was going to be 0640. We specified that we required English, and whilst we had no issue listening to commentary delivery in Spanish first, it was increasingly annoying that the English translation was 1 minute’s worth for every 3 in Spanish. I didn’t feel that we were really getting the full story. The stop in Humahuaca was the longest, allowing us to find something to eat and relax in the local setting. In fact we got 2 hours rather than one since the local guide only spoke Spanish. On the positive side, we enjoyed our lunch of llama stew at one of the only outside tables overlooking the fake goods traders in the square. Purmamarca was mostly a shopping expedition since the viewing point was a little bit anticlimactic, and only took 10 minutes to enjoy. Tilcara was an enjoyable stop of around 45 minutes, where the quality of restaurants and goods in the shops was significantly better than at the other towns. Overall, if I had known that we’d be covering over 500km in order to see 3 towns with commentary largely in Spanish, I don’t think I’d have signed up.

Shopping Spree Disguised as a Sightseeing Tour
The tour was disappointing. Despite the lead photo showing the Seven Color Hills, most of the day was spent stopping at shops. After 7 hours, we had a single 10 minute stop on the side of a highway to view the hills, obstructed by buildings and street lamps. One more shopping stop, then back home. Not what I expected. The bus was nice, however.

Nordic organized a wonderful excursion for us, thank you Pablo (tour guide) and Nordic team
Nordic organized a wonderful excursion for us, we really enjoyed it! We left from Salta in the morning, a bus came to pick us up at the hotel at 7am and dropped us off at 6,30pm. Our tour guide Pablo was extremely nice, very knowledgable, very professional but also extremely caring (people sometimes get sick due to the altitude when going to the Salinas Grandes, so he was really looking after all of us). We stoped at a restaurant in Purmamarca for lunch which had a set pre-arranged price for a buffet, the food was good and the price was very fair (which is very appreciated because some tour companies sometimes take you to the more expensive restaurants). Driving around Jujuy, especially when going to the Salinas Grandes can be dangerous (quality of road and altitude sickness), so it is a good idea to do this with a tour operator. Before this excursion, my partner and I rented a car and spent 3 days driving South of Salta to Cafayate (Valles Calchaquies, Quebrada de las Conchas), we usually prefer driving ourselves to have a more intimate experience than joining a group. However, I think this excursion is best done through a tour operator.

Tour takes all day and you pass on several villages along the way
We took this tour that lasted the whole day. We felt it was worth it as we had the opportunity to visit several villages along the way. They are villages surrounded by mountains and when you arrive you will notice that many have establishments specifically to sell souvenirs and gifts to tourists. On the one hand it was good because we stopped at several places and when we arrived at them they gave us the freedom to wander around a little. But on the other hand, because there were so many short stops (about 30 minutes), it meant that we didn't have time to do almost anything and we didn't really know what to do because we were afraid of going too far and being late getting back to the transport. Another positive point is the tour guide who told stories along the way. At the lunch stop, they took us to a specific restaurant along with the whole group. I paid around 12 thousand pesos for a dish with starter, main course and dessert. I purchased the tour on their website.

        Breathtaking Views
Had a lovely day visiting to the north of Salta with absolutely incredible views. The colored mountains were breathtaking. We enjoyed visiting the small towns that had such amazing culture. Language barrier is very difficult if you only speak English but everyone is so kind and willing to help. It’s a very long day but well worth it!

        Don't trust this company
Don't join their tour if you don't want to loose your money. They believe they are doing very reasonable and correctly for not refund to customers for any tour canccellation. Don't trust them anymore. They can cancel the tour what they want without any responsibilities. Shame on them!!!!

        Terrible experience
Bad experience. They rearranged our tour and finally cancelled it WITHOUT any refund. They don't take any responsibility only earn money. The staff in the office is not well trained, they are not respectful and helpful. They only asked us to send email to contact their boss for the complaint and refund matters. One of them did not willing to tell her name which is ridiculous as a Customer Service staff. Overall not recommended, there should be a better choice in Town.

        Terrible experience
Don't trust this company. We booked this tour one day before and the staff confirmed and we paid. But they couldn't make it on the day we booked and rearranged another day. Finally they cancelled the tour WITHOUT any refund. They said the road is closed so the tour has been cancelled and it's not their responsibility. Does it mean it's the consumer 's responsibility so they take all the tour fees for arranging nothing ?! I wonder if is this normal in Argentina tourism industry? Additional information: Ridiculous attitude of the staff in their shop when we requested the refund. Staff in Customer service must be well trained for good.

Cancelled tour at the last minute
We booked an excursion with them about 5 months in advance. 3 days before due to go, they contacted us and said cancelled. We then had the stress of finding another company to do the tour with. We had specifically flown to Salta to do this tour, to the coloured mountains and salt flats. They let us down badly.

        Good Tour, Misleading Marketing
The views were excellent, the tour bus was clean, and the stops were engaging. You don't get to spend a lot of time at each stop, but considering the distance that this tour takes you on, it makes sense - it was definitely a very full day. However, please note that this tour is NOT an "English" tour. The tour guide spoke Spanish, to a mostly Spanish-speaking tour group. She tried her best to describe what was going on / what we were seeing / explain what she shared with the group with us in English. This would have been **perfectly acceptable** had it been advertised as an English/Spanish tour - myself and my group were completely happy on other tours when this happened, as we had booked a Spanish/English tour. This tour was listed / marketed only as English, which it definitely was not.

        Super trip.. super guide.
Very good trip with Angie as our leader. She had excellent English and really made the trip interesting. The bus was very comfortable and we saw everything we were meant to see. Would thoroughly recommend this particular trip.

        Disappointed travellers
I am afraid the experience was really disappointing. We had booked this trip from the UK. On the day of the trip, no one arrived to pick us up from the hotel, even though I had confirmations. Trying to reach Trip advisor or Viator on the phone was very difficult and when I did get through there was no explanation. The trip was rebooked for the following day without any consultation with us and we had to react and change plans to accommodate. When the coach turned up it was really old, the microphone the guide was using didn’t work. Although the guide did speak English, 95% of the tour was conducted in Spanish. The tour was to see the coloured mountains but the trip we had been given didn’t include that element. We had to work really hard and pay extra to actually see the mountains, which was the purpose of the trip. Considering the price difference of booking a similar trip locally and the poor quality of our trip and poor service received from trip adviser and Viator, I would not recommend this to anyone. Really upset and disappointed.

Good trip with some English speaking guides
We are English speakers (age 30s) who did the tour from Salta to Cafayate - the tour was great. We met at a designated point (about 6:30am) and travelled on a large tour bus (about 45 people). We were a little worried at the start, thinking that there was going to be no English (when the guide spent the first 20mins talking only in Spanish) but eventually Angie did speak in English. The bus was very comfortable and had enough leg room to still be comfortable even when the seat in front was reclined. There were curtains to block out the hot afternoon sun! The winery visit was good although only in Spanish but that didn’t change the taste of the wine! Cafayate itself is very nice and we had 2hrs to explore. The scenery is beautiful and the stops are good, between 10-20minutes at each. Only downside is travelling as such a big group - everyone has to take their turn for the best photo spots, some patience is required. Obviously group size can fluctuate. We got back to Salta around 7:15pm!

This was a great tour! It was more about the views of nature, the natural landscapes and unique rock formations. Just the drive itself was breathtaking. We briefly tried three wines, if you are doing this tour for the wine, don’t. The wines were very sweet and we were only there for about 30 minutes. Then we went into Cafayate for a delicious lunch and walk around town before heading back. Overall a great day!

Our tour guide Angie and driver Mauricio were phenomenal. She in particular brought a native instrument to play and a Salta poncho and explained in details all about them. Very knowledgeable of the area. She also gave tips regarding the “Peña’s” Salta local restaurants were locals play music and how to avoid tourist traps.

Today I have done the activity of Salta a Calafate and the valleys Calchaquis, impressive the Quebrada de las Conchas!!!. Excellent Angie, a human library, covering all aspects of travel, geographical, geological, historical, artisit8cos, cultural, musical and gastronomic. Rarely in my life have I encountered a capacity to transmit information and didactic capacity. Driver Javier, a great professional, transmitting security at all times The wide bus, the air conditioning at its point. Perfect organization and perfectly fulfilled schedules.

We had 3 tours in 3 days from Salta. All of the visitor attractions are so far from Salta that you have to travel 3-4 hours in a minibus to reach them. Our Argentinian travel guide in the UK suggested staying in Purmamarca to avoid a 3 hour drive back to Salta and another 3 hour drive the next morning. This was good advice. The Purmamarca hotel was wonderful.
However, the drivers from the company Tiamar were so bad. They ignored speed restrictions, they ignored the double yellow lines in the middle of the road, they took risks when overtaking, they ignored loose animals at the side of the road including very young calves and goats.
The trip with wine to Cafayate was not good. If they stopped at the amphitheater and turned around nothing would be missed. The wine tasting is terrible. The gorge is beautiful but there is no point in going on to Cafayate. Turning at the amphitheater would mean that they could drive at normal speeds and not make the passengers sick.
On our drive to the salt lakes we had 3.5 hours before there was a toilet break. One passenger had to ask to stop and he had to relieve himself in full view of all of the road traffic. The women on the bus also wanted to go to the toilet but there was no possibility of them relieving themselves in the same way.
We drove for 7 hours without food on the salt lake tour.
The minibuses have two seats on the back row with no view. If you are unlucky to be the last hotel pick up then you will have these seats for 11 or 12 hours. Every passenger who was allocated these seats was unhappy. These seats should be sold at a discount as you cannot see anything from them. I had to spend 11 hours in one of them yesterday. If I had been last to be picked up this morning I would be phoning the company to ask for a refund.
I have friends who have booked a trip to Salta. I will be advising them not to go in a minibus. These trips are uncomfortable and dangerous because of the driver behaviour.

Leading up to the tour, Nordic travel was not very good at communicating with us about the details, but a friend had recommended them so we proceeded to book their 12-hour tour of cafayate with wine tasting.

The tour said 12 hours, on one website it even said 11 hours. This was important to us because we had a flight that night and needed to be at the airport later.

During the tour, we started being told we wouldn’t be back 2-3 hours late, and that there was nothing we could do about it. There didn’t really seem to be an explanation for this. 3.5 hours deep into the desert, we didn’t really have a choice but to just hope we’d be back on time. In the meantime, we tried talking to the office and they were EXTREMELY unhelpful and rude. They denied their descriptions said 11-12 hours, although I sent them screenshots of all of the listings. They basically denied everything that would make them responsible and said it was totally on us to get to the airport. They did not offer to help in any way, and were very rude in the conversation.

Ultimately we made it to the airport on time. The tour guide helped us and so did the bus driver. They guide was helpful throughout the day with this problem.

This company is rude, irresponsible, uncommunicative, unprofessional, lazy, and does not treat their customers with respect. I would never book with them again.

This was the only group tour we did in salta, everything else we did on our own. And the tour was not unique in any way, it felt very manufactured and touristy. Not authentic. Would not recommend.

This is the worst tour company we have came across in Argentina.
We have booked two tours with Nordic.
The first one was a WINE TOUR TO CAFAYATE. It was one of those tours where you just feel like a “milk cow”. The bus passed most of the sightseeing spots in the road, only making a spot at four of them throughout the 12 hour drive! But of course we had a time to go to the “local artisans” who pay them commissions. F ex beer at the store they took us to was three times more expensive than in town.
When we booked a tour, we were promised two wine tasting - there was only one, and the testing part took 2 min. It was the biggest joke ever. You get 10 ml of red and white wine - barely covering the glass bottom without any explanation, pushing you to buy wine there. It is not even possible to get a refill even though you are ready to pay for it.
So the tour just made for you to buy stuff and simply sit on the bus doing nothing for 12 hours.
Our second tour got cancelled at 9 o’clock in the evening a day before. So we have a wasted day of the vacation as it was too late to arrange anything new for that day. So unprofessional! Needless to say we weren’t offered any compensation.
Avoid this organization. This is practically scam.

This was our second tour with Nordic Tours. We had the same guide, Eugenia, who is very good. There was confusion for me regarding pick up, as I could not read the message written in Spanish saying that we had to meet at their office instead of being picked up at the hotel. English would have been helpful. Make sure you find a Spanish speaker to help you with messages from the company. Despite this, Eugenia was helpful and gave me directions to a spot in south Salta where the bus picked us up. The scenery was magnificent and the stop at the winery was great (you get generous samples of wine). We had ample opportunities to take photos and explore the unique rock formations (the devil’s throat and the amphitheater). The restaurant recommended by our guide was good value for the peso (appetizer, main course, dessert and 1/2 litre of house wine for 2 was 800 pesos). I would recommend this tour.

Worst tour I’ve been on so far on my travels in South America and my first ever complaint… The information said an English guide would be provided and maximum of 15 people in the group - 95% of the tour was in Spanish and our group was approximately 30 people. By the afternoon I felt ignored and wished I hadn’t bothered getting up early for the bus. I tried to cancel another tour I had with the same company the following day and was repeatedly told no refunds because it was in 24 hours - my poor experience and false advertising of the tour didn’t seem to matter. I was asked to come into the office where a nice member of staff gave me a bottle of wine for my trouble but I’m still pretty shocked the company feels it’s acceptable to not provide any refund.

This was sold as an all day wine tour while also visiting the valley - in reality you go to one wine tour that gives you a thimble of wine to sample and then taken to a tacky gift shop that gives you a shot glass of some desert wine and that is it.
If you don't speak Spanish they don't bother translating.
You pass multiple wineries but there is no thought of going into any of them. Multiple people were annoyed that we didn't get to visit the wineries as sold originally.

Spend around 8 of 12 hours of the day sitting on a bus.

The agency were also extremely difficult to get in contact with and we were told to be there for 6:20am but we were still waiting around almost an hour later to leave centre of Salta.

The scenery is very good and our tour guide Angie was very good and helpful.
      But would not recommend.

The tour was very well organizef. Our guide (Angi) was very kind, knew a lot of things and funny as well! She and the driver Juan made sure that everybody felt safe and welcome. After an hour drive we stopped at a few famous spots and had enough time to take a picutre or buy a souvenir. After that, we had the chance to try 3 different wines. They were good too. Sadly, we couldn't try white wine, for which the region is famous for.
In Cafayate we had two hours for ourselves which is enough to eat something and drink a coffee. On our way back we stopped at different spots and we were back on time.
It was a really nice day and the landscape is so worth seeing it.
