    Canceled
Canceled the day before when it was too late to book with another company and refused to speak to me about the alternatives they were offering. Costumer service could do with a lot of improvement.

The worst excursion I ever had. It can b improved easily, with fewer unnecessary stops, at least spend an hr there, n pre check
It took 51/2 hrs to arrive at the Humahuaca Gorge for the colorful mountain, few stops for toilet, b'fast n not tht fasinating local villages n a transfer, BUT, BUT we were given 20-25 min at the most important scene. Worst is yet to come, the bus, the midibus, brokedown half way, we were waiting for 31/2hrs in a cafe for another bus to take us back, not hot drink offer while its night time, temp dropping. The replace bus came at 10.15pm, while everyone was so tire, trying to catch some sleep, the bus is blasting with some noisy music thru out, such an inconsideration. Reached back hotel at 1.30am, the excursion from 6.45am to 1.30am next day for tht 25min view of the so call 14 color mount. With the trust on Tripadvisor, paying for a premium, compare to directly deal with unknown operator, this is wht I got.

    Very bad
Fraud! I booked a tour for 4 people, paid and received a confirmation on a wrong date. They said the tour cannot be done on the requested date and promised to return the money. It has been over 6 weeks and many messages, still no money has been returned.

Good day trip out of Salta to Pumamarca and Salinas Grande del Noreste!
Good full day trip out of Salta. The drive up through the mountain valley is nice and scenic but beware, you'll be driving up and up to fairly high elevation on windy roads (4,200m or 13,600+ ft). Pumamarca is a lovely small town nestled in beautiful colored mountains. Its town square plaza is full of tourist vendors selling stuff and there are some good small restaurants around. A nice nearby hike with viewpoints is available. The Salinas (salt flats) is picturesque but there can be many people out there alongside you (everyone trying to get that perfect Instagram selfie). Also, be prepared for very bright almost blinding white from the white salt (sun screen is a must). If you haven't been to salt flats before I would recommend this day trip.

    Awesome places but poorly-informed guide
The towns we visited were awesome, but when the tour began, we were never informed that the pucara of Tilcara was closed on Mondays so we couldn't visit this place. Anyway, the worst part of the tour was the poorly-informed guide (he said his name was Corleone), who had his own version of history. Let me cite some of his phrases: 1) "Pizarro arrived to Peru in 1535" - Actually, he arrived in 1532. 2) "The Inca has only one wife" - Actually he had one legal wife, the coya, whose sons were preferred when choosing the successor, and several concubines who came from the pallas (real family women). 3) "The Incas lived in peace when the Spanish arrived" - Actually, when Pizarro arrived, the empire was in the middle of a civil war because of the throne succession. Huascar, a coya's son, was the legal successor chosen by the his father Huayna Capac and the orejones council. However, Atahualpa, a palla's son, decided to claim the throne. 4) "The population at the Inca Empire reached 70 million people when the Spaniards arrived" - Actually, the population of the empire is estimated in 10-12 million people at that time. 5) "The Incas invented the vaccines, the anesthesia, and the antibiotics" - Actually, there's no account from chroniclers or historians about this. Coca leaves and San Pedro cactus' extract were used as anesthetic, although they have nothing to do with what we know nowadays as anesthesia. 6) "Manco Capac founded the first university in Cusco where many physicians, engineers, and astronomers studied" - Actually, the university concept was brought by the Europeans and the first university in the continent was St. Mark University founded on May 12, 1551 in Lima. 7) "Manco Capac inherited a big empire from his father" - Actually, nobody knows who was his father. According to mythology, Manco Capac and his wife Mama Ocllo emerged from Titicaca lake foam to found this new civilization, that was transformed into an empire by Pachacutec, continuing its expansion with his co-regent and successor Tupac Yupanqui in the XV century. 8) "The quipus were colorful 50cm strings used by the Incas" - Actually, quipus have several dimensions and its main feature are the knots in each string. They were not exclusive to the Incas, they were used since the first civilizations in Peruvian territory, e.g., Caral-Supe, the most ancient civilization in America. 9) Referring to European religions, "The Queen invented Anglicanism because the Vatican did not help her" - Actually, Anglicanism was founded by Henry VIII in 1534 because the Roman Pope did not want to approve his divorce from Catalina de Aragon, that he needed in order to marry Anne Boleyn. The Vatican did not exist in those times, it was founded in 1929. So those who want to take the tour, I still recommend it, but pay attention who is going to be the guide. If you want to learn about the Incas, don't go with Mr. Corleone as guide.

Avoid this travel company at all costs!
I booked & paid this English speaking tour about 8 days before. First heard from them the afternoon before telling me it was not possible to have English speaking guide. I refused this, then they said they could. Turns out the guide did her best, but spoke mostly in Spanish, basic in English so we learnt very little. Then the tour went on it’s own journey - to 5 craft markets. No ruins of Tilcara even though our ticket included entry. We saw the 7 colors hill from a distance and only saw the church of Uquia because we complained. Nordic Travel have ignored my messages to discuss. The trip was delayed because of extra craft markets. It took over 14 hours and was hell!

    Dont´t miss it
Unique place with amazing views! Long trip to get there, worth it though! On the way you can also take advantage to visit Purmamarca -my favorite place- and enjoy the way to Salinas... "Cuesta del Lipán" is a breath-taking view from the 4.150 msn. There you should walk slowly and chew some coca leaves or sweets.

    a bit disappointed
The landscape is spectacular, no doubt about it. The tour in itself could have been better. The guide we had was excessively annoying. He seemed annoyed by his job and kept clowning around and making bad jokes instead of trying to captivate us with interesting or useful information. The group exceeded the 15 announced in the tour description but it felt manageable. But most importantly, the tour is not what's described: basically it's 1. going straight to the Salinas (5h ride with a 30min break in a crafts' market), 2. 30min on site (you need to pay 200 pesos entrance unlike what's announced), then 3. back to Pumamarca for lunch break and 4. one hour to stroll the town or climb the mountain (that's the "trekking" part: you can climb on your own if you want but there's not enough time to do it anyway). There's no complete tour of anything. You're entirely left on your own both in the Salinas and in Pumamarca, and these are the only two stops. You basically see the Hills of 7 Colors passing by, but that's it.

Great tour to scenic locations with Nordic.
Nordic Tours was great. The guide was perfect with excellent English, the tour was well-planned no glitches. They also made some personal changes on the fly to accommodate some of my requests. Really attentive drives that adjust the temperature in the bus when asked. It is highly recommended. P.S. I made a point not to go with Tangol Agency and their local subsidiaries (especially Whiphalla, which treats clients really badly). My advice would be to stay away from them.

    Very good experience!
I was very happy with the tour and our tour guide Jeremy was brilliant! All the places that were visited during the tour were stunning and definitely worth visiting, would recommend! In addition to this, although there were only 3 people speaking English (and over 20 Spanish speakers) everything was also explained in English and we were not left out.

    Don't go!
They only get a star for the locations. 1. The tour was late. 2. The guide did not speak a word english (allthough it said the tour had a english speaking guide). 3. The park fees was not included allthough it said they did. 4. They didnt drop you off where they said they would. You're better off renting a car and do the tour yourself.

Avoid at all costs if you speak english!
We were promised an english speaking guide but the guide on our trip didnt speak any english. The trip included a 3.5 hour journey to the first stop, which was a drag. Considering we had an hour window of pick up time (waiting outaide at 6:30am for 45 minutes is not fun). We missed out on any context and history and we really struggled to order food in the restaraunt we were forced to eat in!

Incredible experience and location, very good guides
Martin and Martin were our guides to take us to the Salinas Grandes, we left early but had to return to Salta to collect other members of the group who had been left behind. Martin (the main guide) was fantastic at giving me a personal explanation of what would happen and where we would be going in perfect English as I was the only non-spanish speaker. We stopped to see a panoramic view of the hills outside of Purmamarca but the view could have been better if we'd been able to see past a car park. However the Salinas Grandes did not disappoint at all. Martin even lent me 300 pesos in order to gain entry to the main sands (which was totally worth the entry fee) On the way back we stopped in Purmamarca where we had lunch and the town was celebrating Carnival which was amazing to see the local culture up close! The day was very good and could have been even better with a better view of the coloured hills.

This is the worst tour company we have came across in Argentina.
We have booked two tours with Nordic.
The first one was a WINE TOUR TO CAFAYATE. It was one of those tours where you just feel like a “milk cow”. The bus passed most of the sightseeing spots in the road, only making a spot at four of them throughout the 12 hour drive! But of course we had a time to go to the “local artisans” who pay them commissions. F ex beer at the store they took us to was three times more expensive than in town.
When we booked a tour, we were promised two wine tasting - there was only one, and the testing part took 2 min. It was the biggest joke ever. You get 10 ml of red and white wine - barely covering the glass bottom without any explanation, pushing you to buy wine there. It is not even possible to get a refill even though you are ready to pay for it.
So the tour just made for you to buy stuff and simply sit on the bus doing nothing for 12 hours.
Our second tour got cancelled at 9 o’clock in the evening a day before. So we have a wasted day of the vacation as it was too late to arrange anything new for that day. So unprofessional! Needless to say we weren’t offered any compensation.
Avoid this organization. This is practically scam.

Leading up to the tour, Nordic travel was not very good at communicating with us about the details, but a friend had recommended them so we proceeded to book their 12-hour tour of cafayate with wine tasting.

The tour said 12 hours, on one website it even said 11 hours. This was important to us because we had a flight that night and needed to be at the airport later.

During the tour, we started being told we wouldn’t be back 2-3 hours late, and that there was nothing we could do about it. There didn’t really seem to be an explanation for this. 3.5 hours deep into the desert, we didn’t really have a choice but to just hope we’d be back on time. In the meantime, we tried talking to the office and they were EXTREMELY unhelpful and rude. They denied their descriptions said 11-12 hours, although I sent them screenshots of all of the listings. They basically denied everything that would make them responsible and said it was totally on us to get to the airport. They did not offer to help in any way, and were very rude in the conversation.

Ultimately we made it to the airport on time. The tour guide helped us and so did the bus driver. They guide was helpful throughout the day with this problem.

This company is rude, irresponsible, uncommunicative, unprofessional, lazy, and does not treat their customers with respect. I would never book with them again.

This was the only group tour we did in salta, everything else we did on our own. And the tour was not unique in any way, it felt very manufactured and touristy. Not authentic. Would not recommend.

Avoid this company. They don¨t respect the itinerary, pick up to in the hotel 1 hour later, the devil's throat and the amphitheater at the end of the trip and plus they have this sociopath, Facundo, as a guide that is a manipulator, liar and an abuser with whom he dares to question him. He treat people like cows only to take them where he has his business: Wineries, the restoran the house of crafts.

Worst tour I’ve been on so far on my travels in South America and my first ever complaint… The information said an English guide would be provided and maximum of 15 people in the group - 95% of the tour was in Spanish and our group was approximately 30 people. By the afternoon I felt ignored and wished I hadn’t bothered getting up early for the bus. I tried to cancel another tour I had with the same company the following day and was repeatedly told no refunds because it was in 24 hours - my poor experience and false advertising of the tour didn’t seem to matter. I was asked to come into the office where a nice member of staff gave me a bottle of wine for my trouble but I’m still pretty shocked the company feels it’s acceptable to not provide any refund.

Salta la linda!!!! It has so much to offer!! Thank you Nordic for the chance to see all this beauty! It was my second tour with Nordic! And I was happy to have the same English-speaking guide Sole who is also a great photographer who will do her best to get you your perfect picture lol...and Carlos, the driver, brought us back home safe and sound even though the road was full of rocks and flooded by the rivers ... Great people, stunning landscapes and good vibes! Highly recommended ❤️

Reading the previous reviews I was a bit hesitant going on this tour but decided to give it a gamble and believe it payed off.
First off the company picked me up from my hostel and was very punctual with the timing, and finding out I was the only English speaking person on the tour, the tour guide Jeremy went above and beyond to ensure I got the same information as the rest of the tour, repeating everything twice and made sure i was entertained throughout the day.
You stop off at some formations and natural wonders along the way with spending a few hours in Cafayette for lunch and to walk around the town.
Following this was the wine tour which was a cute little winery with a tasting of one white and one red, a little less than I was expecting but still happy with the whole day. Would recommend

The tour itself was a disappointment but the sights were beautiful. It was advertised as bilingual but it was completely in Spanish, including the wineries. I never knew what was happening or when. If I asked how long to the next stop or what it was, she couldn't give me the answer. Nice area but don't say you do it in English if you actually don't.

While this was a lovely and professional tour, the title and description were very misleading. First, the agency refused to pick us up because we were just over 10 blocks away from the agency, however, they picked other people up that were further away than us. Second, we signed up for an English tour; this tour was entirely in Spanish. Third, there was hardly any wine. We spent less than 15 minutes at a vineyard. While I would recommend this tour for the breathtaking views of the valley, I believe the agency should change the title and description of the event to better reflect the nature of the excursion.

We really enjoyed the beautiful countryside and fabulous views of spectacular rock formations but the day got off to a bumpy start with the guide demanding payment for the tour which we had already paid for and had the voucher. After phoning the office he was told that we hadn’t paid and then he asked us again to pay while we were on the bus in front of everyone which was pretty embarrassing with us insisting we had paid - which we had- and the guide saying we hadn’t. After describing when, where and how we paid and after several more phone calls it was finally agreed that we had indeed paid and we got a cursory apology.

The area is stunning and I’m really glad we did the tour, but I could really have done without the admin stuff up.

FOREIGN TRAVELLER MUST read. Be aware of the horrible treatment you will receive if an accident were to happen while you are in the tour.
My Mom (77 years old) broke her hip and wrist bones due to the most silly fall at the fist stop of a tour.
The tour guide continue the journey abandoning my Mom, my Dad and I in the middle of the most remote area saying that we would have to wait for a taxi to take us to the most near (2 hours drive) hospital.
Because of the emergency of the case I did not yet have the time to sue them alleging the most horrendous treatment received in my traveler life.
This Company is outsourced by a wellknown wholesale tour seller so please DO NOT BOOK with them. I am saving you a big headache.
