About the operator
- 205florencet00A must seeI learned alot about the history of the Andes, the geology of the mountain ranges and the history. Mauricio was very patient and spoke good english. I would definitely recommend going on this tour but also plan to stay in Tilcara for the next trip or at least so you can visit the places for longer.
- Seaside6538444474100Memorable experience!Best day of our trip! The guide was wonderful! He answered all of our questions about the province, it’s culture, history and environment. He even personalised the trip for us based on our preferences. It was memorable!
- missclarajane00Awesome!We had a lovely experience!! Our tour guide was wonderful, the views were spectacular, and the bus was very comfortable! It’s a lot of time on the bus but seems like the best way to see all of these places in one go! Definitely recommend.
- reginaioannou00A life time experienceIt was an excellent experience. Its a must, once in a lifetime. Our Guide Pablo made our day to the best day in all my travels (6months) throughout Argentina. He was an excellent tour guide. Highly recommended. The tour was well organised with snacks and drinks in the morning and afternoon. We had our own nurse on board, excellent.
- Michelle_n_Aaron00Beautiful LocationsThe sites were beautiful and worth seeing- just keep in mind I selected an English language tour and it was all in Spanish as I was the only English speaker there. The tour guide was very nice and did offer to come sit beside him but he spoke into a microphone quite a bit and wouldn’t be able to continually translate (his English was good). I didn’t expect full translations however A couple would have been nice as he spoke quite a bit about the locations, etc. or even when he told everyone when the stops were and durations as I had to continually ask. So I would recommend this tour if you are a fluent Spanish speaker, if not I would skip as you won’t be able to take in any information about the locations.
- Robert V00Salta #23Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave a keen historical perspective of every site we visited. Names, dates, and locations were explained without any difficulty. Highly recommend this tour. 😎
- Quinn R00Solid tour with EugeniaPick up was fairly straightforward - tour was timely with this. Bathroom breaks and stops were well spaced. Meal times were appropriately scheduled. Initially I was nervous to book the tour since there weren’t hundreds of reviews. Not sure still if this tour is the same as the ones others have mentioned, given that Tangol seems to be a third party provider. Nonetheless… As a group, we were able to make many, many stops, and I did not feel rushed with any of them in particular. Could have been nice to spend more time in Purmamarca. This stop was my favorite. I was the only (?) English speaker and the guide was inclusive - consistently translating the entire time. I could imagine the same day being split into two days and being a bit more relaxed (with say, a night in Purmamarca). Nonetheless I was pressed for time, so this tour was absolutely perfect for me. The sights are absolutely beautiful. The tour is not so much trekking as much as it is seeing beautiful landscapes and exploring the small towns in the area.
- Liz_hickson00Amazing Day.We had an amazing day and this tour was so much more than we had expected. Beautiful, amazing scenery with a great guide Guille whose story telling and information was detailed, enthusiastic and entertaining. We are qualified sommeliers and had learnt about Cafayate and the highest vineyards in the world and it had been a dream to come here. The wine didn’t disappoint and the wine museum is also not to be missed. We have travelled to over 75 countries and this part of the world in our opinion is a real gem. This tour is all day and will blow all your senses. We thought it was real value for money and we would definitely recommend it.
- mrs2020201700A unique experienceHighly recommend this tour. We took a risk booking, as there wasn’t much information online, but I’m really happy we did. We were picked up from our hotel in Salta in a nice, leather seated pickup truck, and it was just me and my husband, one other traveler, and the guide, Lucas. Lucas speaks really great English, has a lovely personality, is very knowledgeable about the area, and really cares about his work in the tourism industry. We drive through the Andes mountains and made stops at Santa Rosa de Tastil, San Antonio de los Cobres for a snack and drink break at a hotel, Salinas Grandes, a fancy hotel for lunch outside Purmamarca square, and in Purmamarca, before heading back to Salta. There were ample water bottles for us in the car, but food and drink we covered ourselves. It’s quite a bit of driving in between the stops, and the road is quite bumpy and winding at parts, so if you get motion sickness, maybe think about forgoing this excursion. Otherwise, I think it’s very good value because it’s a lot of driving to do yourself and it’s nice to be able to doze off at parts while trusty Lucas helms the car! We are so happy we met Lucas and had him as our guide!
- Pádraig L00Fabulous flamingoes and moreOur guide Javier was fantastic with a pretty encyclopaedic knowledge and happy to answer any questions. Wonderful views of flamingoes on the lagoons as well as many other species. The pre-Incan ruins in Tastil were a lovely diversion on the way out also. An absolutely wonderful day. Did have some slight communication problems with tangol prior to the tour so recommend confirming everything a day or two in advance.
- Lia R00Value for moneyBeautiful landscapes, the tour guide was very friendly and informative. The thing i didn't like was that we were in the bus at least 7 hours and it was really tiring. Nevertheless i understand that there is no other way to see these villages because they are far away from every other place.
- camilae20029900In love with Las SalinasHow can I describe the amazing landscapes that Jujuy has. I had the opportunity to visit "Las Salinas" in 2019. It was a long and hard road but it definitely worth it. I went with my family and some friends that live in San Salvador de Jujuy, since we are in love with their province they have been our tourist guides. I would strongly recommend a Coke tea time with nothing but oxygen to accompany if you don't want feel your stomach like a washing machine during the trip. It needs to be undestood that your the final destination is 4000 metres above the sea level, approximately. Another thing that you should take with you are some sunglasses because the environment is covered in salt, which is white in color and bounces off the sun's rays in a way that will disturb your eyesight. Las Salinas are just a quearter part of the beauties that this Argentinian place has.
- Rodolfo C00Amaizing PlaceIt is all very nice but the best is Pumamarca. Spare a couple of days to stay there and explore and enjoy that amaizing place. El Tren de la Nubes was a deception. Very good organization but they don’t have a policy to return the money to somebody who gave a 3 days in advance cancelation. You will not enter the clouds, it’s just a name and crossing a 150 feet bridge is ........
- Lesley F00Really good dayEugenia was our cheerful and interesting guide. We had a lovely day in the mountains at Salinas Grandes then Purmamarca.
- raulm35600Good tour, wrong schedule / Buen tour, orden de visita equivocadoThe tour is wonderful, but it makes absolutely no sense to finish the trip in Pumamarca late in the afternoon, when the sin is down and there’s no way to enjoy the seven colours hill. Just the same trip agenda but in the opposite order would be great, I do not see any reason why they do bot make Salta - Pulmamarca - Salinas - Sant Antonio de los Cobres - Quebrada del Toro and then back to Salta. I guess it should be difficuit to addapt lunch time, but it is quite dissapointing reaching Pumamarca late on the afternoon and then discover that the famous multi-colors hill is just a grey shadow because the sunshine gos to the opposite direction. At least the tour operator should warn the travelers in advance that they are not going to see anything in Pumamarca, as there are other tours that rightly reach Pumamarca on the morning, ex those going later to Humahuaca. Just for the record, the local agency indicated is an another wholesale agency (as Viator) located in Buenos Aires, the service is provided by a local retail tour operator. We duscovered that circumstance because we needed to call the operatirvas the tour started one and a quarter hour later, with no notice, aparently because they had to change the driver. Nothing to say, except the fact that they should warn the passangers or their hotels of that circumstance. Just a call to the hotels would have been welciome. Havig said that, we very much enjoyed our trip thanks to our phantastic guide Maru and our driver Alfredo. Manu gave a deep explanstion on any place visited : Quebrada del Toro, Tren de las Nubes, Salinas Grandes and Pumamarca. The bus ride is long but they maje many stops. We were luckly in Salinas Grandes as it was the pefect scenario to enjoy the famous “mirrow effect” : sunny day but with some clouds, and some rain on the day before, si it was some water on the salt surface.
