About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- annazK2148TG0 contributionsGreat guide, not so great organizationGabriella was a very nice guide. She was the first one who knew about some of the trees, which are amazing. You could ask her anything. She does the tour in both English and Spanish at the same time, so don’t be confused when at first nobody speaks English. Gabriella’s English is very good. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is, that I booked the tour to start at 4:30 on TripAdvisor. We then got a text the day prior to be in the lobby at 3. And another text from a different number to be in the lobby at 4. I had to reach out to the companies emergency phone number to find out the tour actually starts at 3pm. I just don’t think that’s great. What if we had had plans and were counting on it to start at 4:30 like it was advertised? Anyway, other than that it was a good tour. Salta is alright. Not grand and clean like Buenos Aires, but it’s nice to see.Written October 3, 2024
- jd17010 contributionsCool, but See It on your OwnCONS: - Don't pay the absolute bogus charge on the eastside of the flat to go onto it. The only thing you get you can't on your own is a picture of the sign. - It's "one and done" in terms of what to do there and what you can see. PROS: - If you have a car, you can do everything on your own on the westside of the flat. - It is very cool to see, especially if you are not able to go into Bolivia.Written May 23, 2024
- fionai6890 contributionsTour should be advertised as Spanish only!I wish we could give a higher rating, because I think the tour guide tried hard to make this a good day out. However, the tour was sold as being in English as well as Spanish, and our driver/guide didn’t have any English at all. I have a little bit of Spanish so I managed to understand some, but it was difficult for me because I’m not fluent and I spent all day trying to understand quickly enough to translate for my partner. There were four of us on the tour, in a 4x4 where I was sat in the middle of the back seat. It was not very comfortable for me because I was squashed against a man I did not know for a long drive. There is some beautiful scenery, and I’m sure the driver/guide gave some interesting information if you are fluent in Spanish. I don’t have a problem with people not speaking English - but they should advertise and sell tickets as a Spanish tour in that case, so it is honestly advertised. Then we would have known to book with another tour company instead.Written April 2, 2024

- jasonkE7705QK0 contributionsTangol was a no show for this tourTangol tours did not show up. No cancellation notice. No request to reschedule. They simple did not show up. Lost a whole day in the area. Would not recommend booking anything with Tangol for obvious reasons.Written February 4, 2024
- avao7100 contributionsAmazing tour!I would highly recommend this tour. I was apart of a small group or just myself, one other person, and our tour guide. This experience would not have been nearly as enriching without the amazing tour guide as I was able to ask any questions that I had and I was always given a thorough answer. This trip was definitely one of the highlights of my month spent in Argentina.Written January 31, 2024
- Yogaphan0 contributionsBeauty everywhereDid the Salta to Cachi to Cafayate to Salta loop. Lots of driving through gorgeous country. Dinner at Bistro de Cachi was excellent. Loved Cafayate and Porvenir Winery. Salta has a lively downtown that we enjoyed.Written January 24, 2024
- travelbug9200 contributionsSpectacular viewsAlthough it was a long day in a bus the scenery was exceptional in both directions. The tour is nicely paced with appropriate rest stops. Our guide, Cesar, was exceptional. His English was good and he shared many stories including information about the indigenous cultures in the area.Written December 1, 2023
- IslandGalKauai0 contributionsA great dayIt was a long day but I enjoyed learning about the cultures and natural history of the area. Emilia was a great guide and, although I was the only English speaker, she took care to ensure I received the same explanations as the Spanish speakers. Mariano was a careful driver. I appreciated the size of the group - less than 20, I think.Written October 17, 2023
- Flyer345790691450 contributionsSALT!This tour was really great! The tour guide Eugenia was really informative, English and Spanish too. It’s quite a long day because of the drive but the salt pans are great and all the stops in between are really cool tooWritten October 9, 2023
- 205florencet0 contributionsA must seeI learned alot about the history of the Andes, the geology of the mountain ranges and the history. Mauricio was very patient and spoke good english. I would definitely recommend going on this tour but also plan to stay in Tilcara for the next trip or at least so you can visit the places for longer.Written September 29, 2023
- Seaside653844447410 contributionsMemorable experience!Best day of our trip! The guide was wonderful! He answered all of our questions about the province, it’s culture, history and environment. He even personalised the trip for us based on our preferences. It was memorable!Written September 6, 2023
- missclarajane0 contributionsAwesome! We had a lovely experience!! Our tour guide was wonderful, the views were spectacular, and the bus was very comfortable! It’s a lot of time on the bus but seems like the best way to see all of these places in one go! Definitely recommend.Written July 30, 2023
- reginaioannou0 contributionsA life time experienceIt was an excellent experience. Its a must, once in a lifetime. Our Guide Pablo made our day to the best day in all my travels (6months) throughout Argentina. He was an excellent tour guide. Highly recommended. The tour was well organised with snacks and drinks in the morning and afternoon. We had our own nurse on board, excellent.Written May 14, 2023
- Michelle_n_Aaron0 contributionsBeautiful LocationsThe sites were beautiful and worth seeing- just keep in mind I selected an English language tour and it was all in Spanish as I was the only English speaker there. The tour guide was very nice and did offer to come sit beside him but he spoke into a microphone quite a bit and wouldn’t be able to continually translate (his English was good). I didn’t expect full translations however A couple would have been nice as he spoke quite a bit about the locations, etc. or even when he told everyone when the stops were and durations as I had to continually ask. So I would recommend this tour if you are a fluent Spanish speaker, if not I would skip as you won’t be able to take in any information about the locations.Written April 19, 2023

You need to have a 4x4 - nothing less ! and take your time to explore as distances are big. Bring water and make sure your gas tank is full as there aren't many gas stations ... the discovery is better than any description !
