Driver Guillermo and sommelier Carla picked us up from our Mendoza hotel and during the drive to the Uco Valley it became apparent that we were in for an absolute treat. The two of them were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the local wine industry but it was genuinely pleasant to talk to them about all kinds of things. Their English isn't perfect (although to be fair, better than my Spanish), but that didn't stop us from having interesting and fun conversations throughout the day.
Our first stop on the tour was Bodega Piedra Negra, where we were welcomed with our first glass of wine for the day and an opportunity to take in the stunning panorama of the surrounding vines and the Andes. Meanwhile our Piedra Negra guide Regina gave us an overview of the winery's history. Afterwards she showed us the productions facilites and the cellar. Finally, we got to taste three different wines, 1 white and 2 red, one of which in 2 vintages. Since we are far from being wine experts, we were very grateful that Regina guided us through the process, providing an insightful introduction to each of them, which meant we never felt out of our depth.
After buying a couple of bottles we moved on to the next winery, which happened to be just next door: Bodega Gimenez Riili. Our guide there, Veronica, gave us a quick tour of the premises and switched between Spanish and English with ease, since we were joined by an Argentinian family. We got to taste some unfinished wines straight from the casks and then sat in the gorgeous restaurant area by the fireplace to try another 4 of their wines, accompanied by a scrumptious cheese board.
Our last stop was another 20 minute drive away at restaurant Rincón Atamisque. We got to pick from several options to build a 4 course meal, with each course being paired with a glass of wine. The food was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed the wines too, although we have to admit that we were more than a bit tipsy by this point.
Finally, Guillermo and Carla made sure we safely got back to our hotel and we shared another couple of good laughs on the way. For our next trip to Mendoza, we'll definitely make sure to choose them as our guides again. The whole tour had an authentic, local flair to it. It seemed like the wineries were chosen for us not because they are trendy but because they are genuinely worth a visit. We couldn't have wished for a better day!

My wife and I really enjoyed the tour with our guide Andrea! We were picked up from our hotel in Chacras at 8:30 AM and taken to three wineries: Corazon Del Sol, Piedra Negra, and Dominique Basquet. The first two were private tastings! The third was the lunch with wine pairings as well. Andrea was intelligent on the wine making process, warm to the clients, a perfect English communicator, and she curated a great experience! We made it back to the hotel after 5pm so plan the day accordingly.

Tour was fantastic. Communication a little slow from company (eg i emailed night before as hadnt heard from them to confirm collection time) but on the day was run smoothly.
Sol was our guide, very friendly and gave us basic information on the region. Her English was good but not great.
We visited a small winery first “Laureano Gomez” which was an amazing starting point t-
well known winemaker who now makes wine in his back garden. Wife brought beatuful snacks and we tried wine from the barrels. Very personable and was very knowledgeable.
Then on to a larger winery “Bodega Piedra Negra” which was great to see the differences between a boutique winery and a larger one. Strong french influence here. Delicious and quality wines again.
We then went for Lunch at “Casa de Uco” which is a beautiful winery. Food was good but not great. And wines were ok - would have been nice to have explanation with our wines.
However was a quality day and would very much recommend

Hello and thank you for your comment,
Actually we would like to know if your reservation was through Viator, basically because otherwise our communication is always on time and we answer e-mail in less than 10minutes.
However, we really appreciate your words and hope you enjoyed our very special tour.
We send you sun and good wine from Mendoza,
Florencia

We booked a small group tour and in the end had a private day with Vicky. She shared her knowledge of the area and history of wine in the region during the drive from Mendoza. She took us to Bodega Rolland and Lurton for private tours and tastings of two totally different wine styles. We were able to compare Cot & Malbec- two versions of the same grape. The next stop was a beautiful boutique restaurant set in a vineyard. Locals were enjoying a Sunday lunch (on Easter Sunday) and there were very few tourists. That is a definitely a sign of quality! The lunch conversation was interesting, as Vicky shared her passion for travel and experience with introducing Argentinian wines to the USA market. On the drive back, we took another route to see more of the Andes mountain foothills and had time for short siesta in the car.
We realize it is difficult to delineate the quality of tours via the web, but are so happy that we selected "The Tintos" tour company! Vicky is an excellent ambassador for Argentina and the Mendoza region.
