About the operator

- hsbvim0 contributionsGreat Day at the El Ombú de Areco ranch and the neighboring townWe spent a total of five days in Buenos Aires and had tour guides hosting us seven times. This experience was by far the best, and we believe most of that was due to the extraordinary job done by our tour guide, Pablo. He had an excellent English vocabulary, his accent was not too strong on his English, he was a wealth of knowledge, and, frankly, he was just a genuine, nice person with whom we spent one full day, and if given the opportunity in the future, would only want him to lead other tours for us. For those reluctant to ride horses, this horseback ride is about as tame as you can get. For lunch you get to try more kinds of meat than I even realized were available on a ranch! We would recommend just tasting one of each, because even with doing that, we were very full after lunch. The horse whisperer demonstration was very interesting to watch, and we enjoyed the music and dancing entertainment. This is a real ranch away from the city. Other gaucho tours offered in Buenos Aires are not real ranches, but sets arranged to see demonstrations. Do the real thing, and go here. Here the original home was built in the 1880's. They have more than 350 heads of Aberdeen Angus cattle and 70 horses. They also have fields planted with soybeans, corn, wheat, oats or pastures, depending on the time of year.Written January 13, 2025
- Lynette S0 contributionsWhat can I say?Lovely location, fun carriage ride. We had to wait quite a while for lunch to be served. It would have been better if the folkloric music was played while we were waiting for lunch/and or during. There was a short demonstration of tango by a couple of the guides, it wouldve been better if they had dancers in costume. I was expecting to see the Gaucho's do a riding show, instead we saw a Horse whisperer which was excellent but it was shown right at the end. The entertainment should be before or during lunch so then people can leave when ready. It was challenging sitting down waiting for such a long time. The whole tour was too long.Written January 13, 2025
- 904georginat0 contributionsNot worth the moneyThe empanadas cooking was good - but the food tour was average - not enough stops and not worth the money we paid. With only 5 of the 9 promised stopsWritten January 12, 2025
- Q6920UWkylies0 contributionsAn absolutely BEAUTIFUL show. Multi-acts and amazing performers. A great deal!An absolutely BEAUTIFUL show. Multi-acts from Tango dance, to singing, to even bringing on a Peruvian band! We were blown away. My friends and I left so shocked. 10/10 recommend this experience. I did a lot of research on shows and this is the one i found for the best bang for your buck! NOTE: We did the SHOW ONLY. If you choose this option, just know you COULD be seated in the back like us. BUT it’s still a great view of stage, not a very large venue overall. Didn't bother us, just something to note! Venue and service was amazing as well.Written January 12, 2025
- steamfan0070 contributionsExcellent tour, providing the perfect guide to the gaucho and his life.We were picked up bright and early one morning at our hotel by our guide in a small, comfortable van that was our transport for the day. It's a long ride from downtown BA to the El Ombu ranch near Areco. This journey gave us a view of parts of the city we hadn't seen before, as well as the flat landscape that charachterises the Pampas. Shortly before El Ombu we stopped at the small town of Areco where our guide took us to a gaucho and silversmith museum that offered a fascinating range of gaucho clothes, equipment and silverware that is used to adorn their saddles, belts etc. (Many items for sale in the museum shop). Once at the ranch we were offered a horse ride around part of the ranch, or alternatively a bumpy ride in a horse-drawn wagon. That was followed by refreshments and the gaucho lunch that consisted of a large number of meat selections, different cuts of steak as well as some pork and chicken, all cooked in the traditional gaucho way over the grill. Washed down by local wine. A substantial meal that guaranteed we'd all be asleep on the ride back to BA (which we were). An excellent day out, in no small way thanks to our outstanding guide who shared so much information on the history of this part of Argentina, the history of the gaucho and their lifestyle. As well as the region as a whole; and he always answered our vast range of random questions! A big thank you to him!Written January 10, 2025
- Resort556650483160 contributionsA must see. One of our favorites in Buenos Aires. The tour was excellent. The guide was the best and westarted enjoying and learning about Buenos Aires the minute me took a seat in the mini-bus. It is not just transportation to the ranch, it's a city tour. The staff at the ranch, Estancia El Ombu, welcomed us as family. Horseriding, music, and dance included. They had vegetarian options too. The food was great, the entertainment was fun, and the people were joyful. This is a must!Written January 10, 2025
- Tourist646216368340 contributionsGreat Initial Tour to get an Overview of the City.Excellent way to see the many different parts of the City which was extremely helpful for figuring out what to do and see for the rest of our time in BA.Written January 8, 2025
- TimNickie20100 contributionsTigre GetawayVery nice 3 hour large catamaran boat ride up the largest river in the world to quaint small river getaways. Nice lunch & stops at interesting shops.Written January 8, 2025
- timothyc3970 contributionsExcellent Opportunity to See the Glacier Up CloseTwo viewing opportunities in one tour. The first is from a series of boardwalks and viewpoints located directly across from the glaciers. The second is a one hour boat tour to observe the glacier from the water. The only downside is that there are numerous tours running simultaneously, so if you don’t like crowds, then this may not be for you.Written January 7, 2025
- thiscatgetsaround0 contributionsJust go for the show. Get dinner elsewhere...The show itself was nice. The food was awful and not worth the cost. I sent my steak back after asking for medium rare and getting well done, only to get another piece of meat which wasn't any better. It also had a very gritty taste to it.Written January 6, 2025

- ruthklumb0 contributionsExcellent serviceI had both a guide and a driver as one and his personal auto and he was very cooperative very pleasant conversationalist and made sure I got home safe safely back to the hotel. I had a little bit too much to drink at the gaucho experience so I slept in the backseat of the car all the way back and arrived safely and was very grateful for his conversationWritten January 5, 2025
