Beware: Lies and Sales Tactics. Fraudulent Company.
So after reading all the reviews and testimonials posted about Say Hueque, I reached out to them via their website at the beginning of July to find out more about their offerings as I wanted to travel to Argentina and in particular Patagonia. Helena a Travel Consultant with the company reached out and there were multiple e-mail exchanges and a few video calls to streamline what I was looking for, my expectations for the trip and to finalise the details. She came across as agreeable and seemed to understand my requirements taking into consideration my safety concerns, phobias and reasons for going via an agency. After a few weeks of this back and forth where timings changed a few times, we finally agreed to the booking conditions and dates. I have to reiterate that I was very particular and specific about what I wanted and she was very accommodating. We even agreed to the hotel stays, this was so important to me and I believe she understood my concerns. I provided a list of the places that were agreed to (from the options she provided) and again it was all well and good, no issues raised here from her at all. I was booking in July for a trip in December (early not late). I was quoted $3,212 for my 11 day trip, (accommodation + transport only) this did not include the entrance fees in Argentina, meals (lunch + dinner) or tips. I of course understood that the margins were high here but for what I wanted, and what I assumed I would be getting from this highly rated and as I believed at the time a reputable company, it was worth it for me. What sticks out to me now after the fact is the fact that Helena quoted, $1,300 for the internal flights and I went down the path of booking them myself and paid $450. I would have proceeded but I was booking my international one and wanted the timings to match. Maybe if I paid attention to the mark up here at the time it would have given me pause. 30% deposit was paid 24th July via We Travel only after Helena and I spoke and I received an email confirmation and an understanding from her of my requests being met. Trip was supposed to be in December. Facts - I have the receipts. 1. July 23rd, after we spoke she sent me an email to advise that she would send the link for the deposit after the details of the booking was confirmed. Essentially, as we agreed, she would send the deposit request after confirming the hotel bookings, she understood this clearly after our conversation that it was the terms of me finalising the booking. 2. The next time I heard from Helena was an email on 28th July to request an extra $270 for a “quiet room”. For context, as a single person the “single supplement” is substantial, I made two requests here to only have one bed in the room since it’s just me and if possible be placed in a “quiet room”. This is standard for me, I travel a lot and make this request each time. When I received the request from Helena for extra funds because I wanted a room that was quiet, I definitely found it strange (of course I now see this as a red flag) so I questioned it. She inferred that the request came from one of the hotels for my trip, essentially that it came from that particular hotel after my request was shared but the other hotels were fine with the request. No mention of any issues with the booking of the hotels at this point. The quote of $270 was in fact the price of an additional room, I already had a room so declined. 3. The pre-final confirmation was sent, 5th August with 15 days provided to make changes. I noticed the discrepancy in the itinerary immediately of some of the listed accommodation not being the ones we agreed to and that had already been confirmed. I reached out to Helena to enquire about this as it was not what was agreed or confirmed and asked for it to be looked at, amended and for the updated itinerary to be sent. I didn’t review the entire itinerary at this point just noticed the accommodation issue. At this point, when she sent the itinerary Helena had passed me on to Joaquina as she had finalised the sale. When I sent the email to her noting the discrepancy there was no acknowledgement or even a response from Helena. Quite telling from someone who was always available when I was deciding on whether to proceed with my booking. There was an immediate insistence from Joaquina that there was no availability at the hotels so they went ahead and booked me into the hostels. Ok, but again, why was this not brought to my attention? This did not sit right with me at all. At no point was I informed of this, I was in fact led to believe that this was already booked. A quick search online showed availability at those hotels for the dates. I of course informed them of this. 4. 7th August. The correspondence with Joaquina at this point took a turn, the availability I saw was explained as only for “web platforms” and not for “agencies”. What? There was also doubling down, no resolution provided or accountability taken and I was instead asked how I would like to proceed? Me? Why am I paying a premium price for your service if the problem solving and conflict resolution is down to me? At this point I had been trying to understand their POV but it was hard to not feel taken advantage of or feel disappointed in the direction this had taken. This devolved from a clear agreement between two parties to deceptive practices and a clear lack of transparency. I know the profit margins dictate what is “available” but I was 100% sure that the options listed in the itinerary I wouldn’t have and more importantly did not agree to and definitely would not have booked. My decision was based on a falsehood perpetuated by them. 5. 8th August. Joaquina proceeded by explaining that the hotels they booked although not the ones we agreed to were in the same category (just to note category does not mean the same standard) and since the ones I wanted were not available they booked alternative ones. She proceeded to inform me that I was aware of this as “We have reviewed the emails exchanged with Helena, and she clearly explained this method and its possibilities.” This here was the point of no return for me and I completely lost any trust I had in Say Hueque. Where did she see this exactly in the correspondence? This was in actual fact not seen anywhere in the communication because it was never mentioned and the hotels were 'confirmed' with no caveats encouraging me at every point to go ahead and make the deposit, even going as far as saying the "link for payment will be sent after the hotels are confirmed". Why would this representative of this so called reputable company say this to me as if it is factual knowing it is not true as the communication thread categorically disputes that. This to me is highly unprofessional and completely unacceptable. After not getting any transparency and realising there was a lot of falsehoods in the correspondence I formally requested my deposit back, 8th August. 6. 9th August. This was now escalated internally, by Joaquina to Antonella. I received a sub-standard response from her again with no accountability. She just regurgitated what was said before and called it a “misunderstanding” saying they were “willing” to find a solution for this with no suggestions made while low key blaming me for “date changes” as if to explain this away. No. Just NO. This to me was continuing on the same path of zero accountability and mentioning re: date changes which has absolutely nothing to do with the issue of the deception. There were multiple changes to the dates, timings, additions, removals etc to the itinerary before the deposit was made and this was only done after the itinerary, hotels, dates and flight bookings were confirmed so again this just highlighted to me that there was lack of attention to detail here and they ultimately just didn’t care enough. I requested my deposit back again, 9th August because the terms of our agreement and what had been consistently promised was not met. 7. 13th August. Now there seems to be a scramble for professionalism that was missing before. I receive an email from Antonella who apologises, informs me that she takes my feedback seriously and now offers solutions, ‘upgrades’ but at the same time informs me that my deposit was non-refundable and shares a link to their T&C. Truly audacious. 8. 14th August. I let Antonella know that I appreciate the willingness they now have to problem solve which is the energy they should have been giving me from the beginning. Unfortunately for me it comes too late. After the communication with them, I have genuine safety concerns as a consequence of their behaviour. The way that I was deceived and encouraged to make the deposit in the first place, the subsequent failures to keep me informed of changes in my itinerary, requesting additional funds for a simple request, and how the situation was dealt with in conjunction with the lies has left me with no faith in the integrity of the company so I can’t put myself in a vulnerable position in a foreign country with the expectation that if anything happens they would take care of me, taking into consideration the manner in which this matter was initially handled. Again, I raised the question of my deposit and the morality of this company with so called “integrity” keeping my deposit. The T&C shared is null and void at this point as the reason for cancellation is because the original terms of the agreement have not been met by them. The deposit was made in good faith after being misled on their part so this stance adds to my mistrust of the company’s bottom line. 9. 15th August. Antonella reached out again. She was offering the alternative upgrade options now available as a gesture of goodwill but then says “even though it was informed that the hotels are not confirmed until we send the pre-final itinerary and that they depend on the availability” who was informed? Who would trust this company after they reveal their true colours with tone deaf responses like this? Why do they keep going with this narrative when they have access to my communication with Helena and they know full well it is false. Why? Take accountability and have some integrity, duping customers to get their money is never acceptable and believing that they will continue with their booking and put their safety in your hands after this is ludicrous. The fact of the matter is that they know that their colleague lied to secure the booking and further to this did not have the courtesy of informing me of changes she made for me. She in fact proceeded to reach out not to inform me of these “changes” after the fact but tried instead to extort more money from me for a “quiet room”. But what becomes clear here is that this does not happen in a vacuum, this is who they are. She goes further in her email “For now this booking is still on hold, If you decide to cancel this trip we will need a written request to proceed with the cancellation. In this case these would be the cancelation costs”. When I say tone deaf, zero accountability, no attention to detail and so much more I mean it. At this point they have had three requests for a refund via writing in the body of the email that she is responding to. Atrocious. 10. 15th August. After Antonella sent me that email I asked her/them to just stop. I didn’t want them contacting me anymore, I was mentally exhausted. How do you ask me for a formal request in writing to cancel the trip? I told them multiple times I wanted the deposit back, there was no trust here, I was tired of the empty gestures. The point of booking their services was for them to streamline, listen to my concerns and actually do their job. The endless back and forth with me repeating myself constantly, receiving tone deaf responses and no active listening or accountability has been draining. The “seamless” experience they peddle is another lie. But at the end of it all they genuinely believe they are entitled to keep my money regardless of the fact that they have done absolutely nothing to earn it. They have instead ruined a trip I have wanted to make for many years, soured the experience, cost me money as flights have already been booked and caused me undue stress. Where we are: They have of course refused to refund any of it and insist it’s against their Terms & Conditions, which in reality is null and void as they haven’t met the requirements of the booking. The cancellation request is a consequence of their actions, deception and lack of transparency. Even if we put to one side the lying and sales tactics used to secure my deposit, what “work” have they actually done to entitle them to the full deposit amount of $963? The reviews here have me baffled, they are just not “good” in any way, shape or form. They have zero attention to detail and dropped the ball on a simple booking and avoided any communication with their customer to explain this after the fact only to reach out to request for more money. 2 weeks is the time between after the deposit was made in July and a refund request was made for a trip taking place in December! And the arrogance here to believe they are entitled to keep my money when they are at fault. So this is my current Action Plan for Say Hueque. 1. Reported this to my bank already and opened a case against them. 2. A follow up with the facilitator of the payment that should be aware of the underhanded tactics being employed here to secure a booking and receive payments. 3. Reach out to the Argentina Tourism Authority to highlight what this so called reputable “Agency” is doing. Tourists initial experience of a country is with a tour provider and they become the face / experience of that country and in this instance it’s not a pretty one. If this is what they did to me I’m sure it’s not isolated and it’s their modus operandi. 4. Report them to the Regulatory Body - there is one in the UK and I have initiated confirmation of the process in Argentina. 5. Explore legal action against the company. 6. I will also ensure that my experience is highlighted in socials - I think it is important that people understand that scammers operate in a multitude of ways and this entitled and narcissistic approach being employed by them here is just one of them.

Solo travel to Patagonia made easy
I did not know where to start when I decided to travel to Patagonia as a solo female traveler in March. I read about many different companies and finally decided on Say Hueque because they quickly responded to all my questions and modified my itinerary as my idea of the perfect Patagonia vacation developed. I was not disappointed in my choice. I can't say enough about their professionalism and responsiveness. They arranged my tours, transportation (including to/from airport and bus terminals), and hotels (I arranged my own airfare though they did offer to do that if I preferred). I was provided with a detailed itinerary, contact numbers including 24 hour emergency # which luckily I didn't have to use. They arranged for an English speaking guide to meet me at the airport and on arrival in each town I traveled to. Each of those guides oriented me to the area and provided me with an itinerary and schedule for that location. I had a personal driver and tour guide for my Buenos Aires city tour. This was my first solo trip and Say Hueque made it seemless. I was nervous about it before I left the US but knowing everything was arranged in advance and then seeing everything proceed exactly as planned - I will definitely use them again for future travels to South America. 10 starts and highly recommend!

        Travel with Say Hueque
Say Hueque did a fantastic job for us. We planned the trip with Magdalena and everything went exactly as planned. Felipe was our in-trip contqct. The guides were on time and very helpful. We made some last minute changes and the agency accommodated us every time. I would highly recommend this agency for your traveling.

        Horrible Experience
Total rip off and typically cash grab service. Price gouging, $140 for transfers from airport when a taxi costs only $25. Got charged $25 for a national park entrance ticket when the price on the ticket clearly was $12. Better to plan on your own and navigate. South America is relatively easy to get around and using this tour agency really provides limited flexibility. I specifically asked not to do touristy tours and end up being in super touristy tours and did not enjoy. No refund was allowed nor did they honor the actually park ticket price after multiple times emailing the liaison. So check their refund policy. Long story, I was better off not using Say Haque and would not recommend.

Amazing trip but not worth the money
Say Hueque helped us to plan and form a great itinerary for our trip to the south of Argentina. Thanks to the agency we found and were able to do just the activities that we wanted and suited the whole family. They booked us into nice hotels with great standard. On the negative side the holiday was very expensive and Say Hueque didn't deliver the service that we expected. The itinerary was tailor made but the document with information was clearly a "copy-paste" job from other sources and I had to ask several control questions and had lots of contradicting information in email vs. the itinerary which also ended up with some misstakes and stress during the trip without real reason. Our expectations on Say Hueque were much higher in regards to the price we paid for this holiday.

        Buyer Beware!
Buyer beware. I was worried about using an agency but our trip was very complicated many places in Chile and Peru. My biggest concern is since I'm not booking directly if any issues come up. The domestic flights within Chile/Peru I found out later were not booked by Say Hueque they used an agent Ricale to book flights. I noticed they really messed up our flight from Puerto Montt to Cusco. They had us fly to Lima late at night get up at 4am to fly to Cusco next day when there were flights directly to Cusco that night. Say Hueque claimed that flight did not exist earlier but that was not true. They quoted a huge amount to correct it. It was so large I just booked directly the correct flights and Latam said I could get the refund from them for the canceled flights but the agency has to request since they booked those flights. This where it got bad. The agency will not call Latam. I have talked to Latam three different times and three different customer service agents and the gave me ticket number, special agent phone number and even the amount of refund $1,160 and all said very easy for agency to call to get this refund. I always expected to pay extra if using an agency but was dismayed to see they paid $1,160 for three of us in total but charged us $5,070!! This is why not to use Say Hueque they do not stand by the agencies they use that you do not even know about.

Private tour to Iguazu Falls from Buenos Aires
Sya hueque did a marvelous job organizing everything for our custom trip itinerary to visit Iguazu Falls from Buenos Aires. Our organizer, Luna Monelos, was on top of everything, even when we made a few late changes. She arranged the stay at the Gran Melia, the boat ride, private tour of both side, etc. It was a great trip! Joaquina Alvarez made sure it all happened as planned. We never had to call for help. The tour company they worked with was also excellent. Highly recommended.

        Say Hueque is the best!
Say Hueque, in particular, Helena & Andrea customized a fantastic 12 day tour for us of Patagonia following a 2 week Antarctica cruise. Their responsiveness & ability to easily & quickly make changes based on our requests was remarkable! Our trip went smoothly & all the details were attended to including transfers to & from hotels, tours & going between Argentina & Chile. Despite some challenging logistics between Ushuaia, El Calafate, El Chalten & Torres del Paine, their planning & attention to detail made this trip virtually stress-free. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Lucia started our trip and Andrea did most of the correspondence and planning. Great job, thank you so much. I sent many many questions and emails and Andrea always responded promptly and courteously. All our transfers went smoothly and on time and our tours and tour operators were great. Highly recommend!

        Overcharging and Underdelivering
What we didn't realize when we booked this tour is that Say Hueque is just the middle man (like a Trip Advisor). They sell their tour packages online as if these are set itineraries and they are the ones actually taking you on these excursions when in fact they are just hiring ANOTHER tour company (and piecing the tours together). On their website, they have a package that is the 4-day Wildlife Sighting Tour for something like $1,300 USD per person where they advertise Whale Watching AND Penguin sighting. Turns out those 2 things do not happen in the same season ever, so that is a blatant lie. The whales are there in the winter and the penguins are there in the summer. And yes that is the package I chose. The tour companies that they chose for us were only 1 day excursions, so to fill the "4-day" tour, they just booked us on 2 separate penguin tours. They should have just told us what the other excursions were that were available so we could pick something else to do in lieu of whale watching (as it was not available in that season) instead of just assuming. OR not force us into a 4-day tour (it could have just been 3 days). In total, that trip should have cost us around $550 each ($80/night for hotel x 3 nights, $100 for each excursion x 2 excursions, and probably $50 airport transfers - that is literally all they booked for us which anyone could do on their own). They charged us $1,300 per person. AND they asked for tip! Bottom line is, just use Trip Advisor to book your tours and then you'll have more control over what you do and where you stay.

        Only way to travel
Our group of friends has used Say Hueque twice to plan our travel. From the very first email this agency is responsive and instrumental in planning our trips. Helena and Andrea communicated quickly and planned all our adventures. In addition, we made some last minute changes to the itinerary and they made it easy. Tour leaders and transportation was reliable. We never worried about whether our hotel, driver or tour would be available. We will definitely use Say Hueque again.

        Professional Friendly Service
We had a rough idea of the main key points we wanted to visit while touring South America. We contacted Say Hueque to review our plans and offer suggestions from their experience. They gave us some great pointers on timing and what they recommended we see. They set the arrangements for accommodations and helped with securing a car. Everything was planned and communicated well. And even more important, the weather caused a couple of delays and the 24 hour service they provide was right there to take care of the changes and get us right back on track as soon as possible.

Amazing organization for a 1 month honeymoon in South America
We had the trip of our life! 1 month's honeymoon across South America. The organization was perfect on a very tight schedule. We packed so much of South America within 1 month! If we had any issues with hotels etc... during our trip, the team was very reactive and supportive and always helped reach a suitable arrangement. Thank you so much!!

My experience with SayHueque was the worst possible. Total lack of transparency in the hotel process, the hotel we were given was not even close to what was advertised. And once they got our money, they could care less in providing us with a solution or alternative. We were even told that if we wanted different accommodations we could pay out of pocket, which is ridiculous. We made it very clear that internet connection was a must and were told that it was good, to realize that it was subpar, you could barely do anything with it, who’d say work remotely. And gets better, the hotel provided didn’t have any heating and we had to complain about that also. We were made to believe that the tours were going to be small groups to find ourselves in a bus load of people. For another tour we were told a change of clothes was optional, that we later realized was completely wrong and mandatory and we came back home soaking wet and the transportation also broke down and we almost didn’t make it back. We asked for a manager from customer support to get in touch with us to discuss the matter in multiple occasions and that never happened. At the end of the day we had to pay to different accommodations from our own pocket to be able to have a workable internet and Say Hueque just went completely silent on us. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.

We designed our own three week Argentinian trip and Say Hueque handled all of the Transfers, any tour we wanted and the details that we needed. This was such a relaxing way to go with no hassling with cabs, maps etc. They had guides for us where and when we wanted and all of our Guides were fantastic and knowledgeable and fun. Patricio and Patti from the BA Say Hueque office were efficient in answering our questions and orienting us and we were able to be in constant contact with them,if a question or problem arose. I highly recommend this company and would use them again.
