About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- dawnwV7206UH0 contributionsMemorable day with fantastic guideWe had a fantastic day with Crt who was extremely knowledgeable about the area and its history. He was a wonderful and considerate guide who was also happy to share his recommendations of things to do while we were in Portoroz. The e-bikes were high quality and made it easy to cover the 46km tour even in August temperatures. The day was a real highlight of our holiday and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region.Written August 28, 2023
- Selma W0 contributionsExhilarating E-bike Adventure: A Fabulous Journey UnfoldedUnforgettable E-Bike Adventure: From Sea to Vineyards Our rendezvous with this exceptional e-bike outfitter started right at the cruise port terminal where our group disembarked from our tenders. A spacious and comfortable van promptly transported us to the bike shop. Here, we were provided with expert fitting for our electric bikes and helmets, along with clear, easy-to-understand instructions - a seamless process indeed! Our intimate group, consisting of just six people from our small cruise ship, was led by an excellent guide whose knowledge and passion significantly enriched our experience. The bikes themselves were fantastic - powerful, comfortable, and easy to ride, contributing to an utterly enjoyable ride. The tour took an even more delightful turn as we stopped for lunch at a hotel owned by the bike shop. We savored a delicious meal accompanied by local wine, all while soaking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. It was a perfect blend of gastronomy and scenery. Post lunch, we were given an option to either bike back or return in the comfort of the van to the shop. Intrigued by the idea of exploring the center of Piran, we chose the former and ended up covering an impressive distance of nearly 20 miles. This e-bike tour was nothing short of amazing. Without hesitation, I highly recommend this outfitter for their professionalism, superior service, and for providing such an outstanding experience.Written July 20, 2023

- Mack F0 contributionsGlorious riding in beautiful Koper.Wonderful day with our guide. Excellent bicycles. Maybe the best experience of our trip in Dalmatia and Greece. The town of Koper is beautiful. Much like Portofino without the excess.Written October 16, 2022

- CM R0 contributionsA tour not to be missed! This was a truly memorable experience, for all the right reasons! Andre communicated very well beforhand and picked us up from our hotel. He tailored our ride to our interests and proved to be incredibly knowledgable about anything and everything to do with Slovenia! The ebikes are brilliant and we saw so much more this way than we would have by car or train. Our trip went on longer than scheduled and we enjoyed every minute. Definitely a tour not to be missed! Thank you Andre!Written August 30, 2021
- guidebooktraveler0 contributionsEasy bikes. Great guide, incredible vistas, perfect excursion!Good communication with this personable and friendly man who manages to be a few places at once! He runs the bike company and a youth hostel where the bike tour takes off from where the garden is beautiful and you get to enjoy his own olive oil if you are lucky, and taste the local salt from the flats. Andrej picked us up on time in Tartini Square and took us about a 10 min drive to his youth hostel where the bikes are. He gave us good instruction as we had never ridden an ebike before. We wore helmets. We happened to be the only two with him on this tour. He had run a few other tours already that day, so we lucked out with a private tour. Bring a backpack or something if needed. No baskets on the bikes. Small seats! He has top notch ebikes that really have the right engines and turbo. We climbed some high hills, and though we had to peddle some, I was never out of breath with my asthma as the motor really takes over. We could never have biked this route with a regular bike, but we are not in top shape and in our 50s. There were plenty of younger, regular bikers out there enjoying the stupendous views and back roads. Andrej led us on back roads, through tunnels, salt flats, towns and countryside. Gorgeous vantage viewpoints! We chose to see Portoroz, Izola and the Strunjen Park on our tour. Loved riding so close to vineyards, olive trees, and fruit trees. We were on main roads a very short time and the drivers were very courteous to go around us. The bikes are easy to ride. A little tricky if you happen to hit the peddle making a turn as the turbo kicks in. We stopped for a beer in town overlooking the Izola marina. Such a fabulous bike trip with great info on the areas from Andrej. Our tour ran over since none of us had plans right away. Lots of stops along the way for photos and to get off a bike a few minutes. Highly recommend this bike tour! Easy and fun. Great way to see the area and the views from sea level to high vantage points. Thanks!Written October 5, 2019
- Theopu0 contributionsExcellent ebike rentalWe rented ebikes for 4 days to discover the hinterland of Portoroz, to ride the Parenzana and to visit Piran. The well equipped bikes were brought to our cottage and picked up. Excellent service!Written September 12, 2019
- belpea760 contributionsFantastic four hours with Andre - don’t miss it!This tour was perfect for our family of 4 (kids 10 and 12), with Andre providing a great overview of the local and broader Slovenian history, and splitting the ride really well between local towns and countryside/farm areas. Andre couldn’t have made it easier, through his communication in advance, picking us up and dropping us back to Piran, making sure the bikes were a comfortable fit (especially in the case of our son - youngest and shortest of our group), and engaging kids and adults alike during tour. Allowed us to get away from the key tourist centres and explore the surrounding areas, covering a good distance on e-bikes, with one of the most genuine and passionate guides we’ve encountered. A must do activity while visiting Piran or neighbouring locations.Written June 27, 2019
- lojo20090 contributionsBest way to explore the Slovenian coastWe started our morning running a bit late to our tour because our cruise ship was a bit late coming in. Andrej was still waiting for us in Piran to pick us up! We were so grateful! We were scheduled for a 100 minute tour, but we were having such a great time, we ended up with a much longer ride! Andrej was so knowledgeable and helpful throughout our ride. Next time we are in Slovenia, we will definitely be taking another bike ride.Written June 19, 2019
- Vaughn34000 contributionsFantastic experience! We started out this morning about 8:30. We received great instruction and even someone like me that hasn’t rode a bike of any kind in a long time, I managed quite well. Just had one slight mishap with a cement block! But our guide Andrej was awesome! He is very knowledgeable of the area and the history of Slovenia. The bike made the steep hills possible to get up and down without too much effort. I am not athletic and I completed the ride without any problem! I would recommend this tour to everyone visiting the Piran/Portoroz area! You see so much and get to go to area you can’t get to by car.Written June 17, 2019
- joncopar0 contributionse-bike turei was in portorose for vacations and i went on e-bike tour. the roads are in gret condition. the nature is beautifull and views are spectacular. in terms of phisical activityes you can choose from low to high intensity. if you dont have enaugh stamina e-bikes can help you overclimb the steepest parts. the owner of hostel was very nice. he gave us some professional advises witch gear to choose. the entire experience was really good. i would recommend to all.Written October 4, 2018
- Lindsay Y0 contributionsExcellent ride with fantastic views!Cycling with Andrej was such a blast! It was just my husband and I, and we were able to cover 17miles! We saw so much of the countryside and coastline. Andrej was a great guide and really took pride in his homeland. Highly recommend trip!Written September 28, 2018
- exmagician0 contributionsMy First Ebike ExperienceI had never been on an ebike before and was looking forward to seeing what it would be like. I’ve been a mountain biker for thirty years and road rider for much longer than that - but now my heart condition (permanent atrial fibrillation) and more importantly the medication I take that keeps my heart rate from getting high make it impossible for me to ride like I used to, especially up hills. I was looking forward to trying an ebike trip. We were picked up by a taxi-van and brought to All Year eBiking where we had booked a group of eight riders, mostly over age sixty, to do a day long tour that would meander through Slovenia to Italy (my first time in Italy!). Their headquarters is at an amazing hilltop hostel (with something like 100 beds) where we were given our helmets, small backpacks (I used my own hydration pack), and ebikes and after a quick tutorial (none of us had ever been on ebikes prior to this) we were off beginning with a long descent. We had two guides, Adrej and Dylan (?), and one led while the other brought up the rear. We had some faster riders and some slower ones. Having the guides was much appreciated as we would otherwise have no idea where we were going. Much of the ride was on rail trails, but some of the ride involved busy streets, roundabouts, an industrial area, and the seafront sidewalk. We had frequent stops where Andrew would stop and talk about the local terrain or history. When we entered into Italy there was no border control, it was just like crossing a state line in the US. The trail went thru a little tunnel with a sign that said “Italia,” that’s it. We stopped for a while in Muggia. Since our group was likely slower than many other tours we didn’t do the hour long loop through Trieste, but headed back on a different route than the one we had taken to get there - the route was essentially a loop. We stopped for a leisurely lunch and a predetermined restaurant where the tentative meal was a large mixed seafood platter, but we had four vegetarians and the restaurant gladly accommodated us. On the way back I began to worry that my battery wouldn’t last and I knew we had a long climb at the finish to return to the hilltop hostel, so I started trying to use the electric motor assist less. Regarding the ebikes: they are relatively heavy bikes with, I think, five or six geared speeds, and the ebike settings were eco (essentially off), tour (minimal assist), sport (more ebike assist) and turbo (where you feel as if you are magically ascending the hill). I wanted to save some battery for some turbo action up the last hill so I kept it on “tour” for most of the ride. Even after the guide kindly switched bikes with me I ran out of battery on the last hill. So did the guide - but he was in his twenties and pedaled the heavy bike up the remaining hill. I had to push the bike up the last section, which was fine. Keep in mind that I'm a big guy and weigh more than most riders, 100 KG (224 lbs) so naturally the battery would wear down more quickly. Overall the ebike ride still felt like a bike ride but it was MUCH easier than if we had pedaled normal bikes along the entire route. The somewhat hilly forty mile ride, with the afib and the meds I take for it, felt about like the same ride would have felt if I had done it with a regular road bike at age thirty. Nice. The guides were organized, extremely helpful and the entire experience was terrific. I would highly recommend All Year eBiking.Written September 23, 2018
