Itinerary

- 1a beautiful guided walking experience in the fynbos reserve. Excellent views of Walker bay & Hermanus. The heartlands of the Cape Floral Kingdom where the phenomenal wealth & diversity is experienced. We walk along the single track of the limestone mountains into an afromontane forest where we take a break to brew coffee. Good birdlife and prolific floral displays.

- Happiness5777380 contributionsOverberg vine to beach slack pack 3 nights. Our trip included Fernkloof, Spookfontein and Hermanus. Thanks to our guides Gilly and Ralph who made our Overberg Vine to Beach trail unforgettable. Beautiful nature combined with good knowledge and friendly guides made this trip very special. Definitely worth while! Excellent food and accommodation at High Seasons.Written May 24, 2023
- Excursion3135670 contributionsBeautiful Cluff PathsThese cliff paths provide a great experience in walking next to the coast line with a cool breeze off the ocean and amazing views. We walked from the Old Harbour area to Kwaaiwater and a few walks from Kwaaiwater to Voel Klip and back. The paths are well maintained and there is security patrolling the paths so we never felt unsafe.Written January 5, 2023
- PTOwner150 contributionsSuper panoramic viewsGilly and Ralph were really nice and knowledgeable guides. We spent 3 hours walking through the Reserve. We went about 7km through sometimes tricky terrain but they would have adjusted the length and trickiest if we had wanted. The stop for tea & muffins helped us get our energy back half way. Definitely recommendedWritten November 5, 2022
- 114bridgetb0 contributionsPerfect Wine WalkThis was the most awesome wine walk , we were 11 people and stayed at High Season Farm. From the minutes we started we are treated to the very best of food and wine , the daily walks were all manageable . It was all so unexpected and Gilly and Rolf do a fantastic job, would highly recommend to anyone wanting to walk the Hemel and Aarde ValleyWritten September 23, 2022
- Sakkie84120 contributionsGreat trip in Kogelberg and Hermanus! We had a blast with Gillian and Ralph!!! They are friendly, organized, did everything they should and so much more. They share their knowledge of the wine and fynbos and everything else. It was a hike to remember! Thank you so much, can definitely recommend any tour guided by them!Written August 8, 2022
- GrantKip0 contributionsA great change of paceWe had a great tasting and the young lady who assisted us was extremely friendly and charming. The wines, while very limited are lovely. They do come with a hefty price point but it is plain to see that this is and always has been, a premium brand.Written July 12, 2022
- Voyage448672313870 contributionsWine and Nature combo. Want to be active by day while enjoying the exquisite Hemel-en-Aarde Valley at it’s bestTravelling is all about creating beautiful & unforgettable moments. Hosted by the amazing couple Gillian & Ralph the Overberg Wine Walk is one of those memories you will treasure forever. Breathtaking scenery, majestic mountains, flowers , birds and the most beautiful vineyards. The piece de resistance is the wine tasting and gastronomic food this valley offers. You will experience the best that the Walker Bay wine region has to give. We started our first day with a wine tasting at the gorgeous Hamilton Russel Estate.Top visits Ataraxia, Spookfontein,Bosman,La Vierge, Newton Johnson and Creation where we had a special visit to our table by Carolyn Martin. Get your friends or family together and plan a visit with Gillian and Ralph. It is so worth it!Written November 24, 2021
- D2437WRninaw0 contributionsA sad way to conduct businessWe were very keen to try this, required details to create our plan. Communication was passive aggressive and unhelpful. We are seasoned travelers and like to know what is on offer and structure our holidays around choices listed by companies. We usually do go on private bespoke tours overseas and are accustomed to companies having tour structures in place which one can use as a guide and then make adjustments to. In our communication we attempted to receive information like this. We were met with vague suggestions and ultimately were told that: “I don’t think we are the 'right company' for you” Simply for asking for structured guidance. We are surprised that a company can so miss interpret a simple request for information, and the tone of the response leads us to agree with the statement quoted. Travel is a joyful experience and we would not feel comfortable with people who conduct themselves in such a dismissive and disrespectful way. We certainly will not be joining them and would discourage friends who might consider this too. The tone is set to not trust that travelers would be treated with respect and kindness.Written October 1, 2021
- DanieL11360 contributionsBabylonstoren Wine WalkWe did the Babylonstoren Wine Walk with Ralph and Gill as our guides, I have to say that was a fantastic day with these two very interesting individuals. They made it so interesting, so much so that we will do more walks with them.Written June 9, 2021
- Heloisef0 contributionsOnce in a lifetime experience (will have to go again!)What a fantastic experience! We travelled to Hermanus for a girls weekend amidst the Covid 19 drama (obviously before lockdown was even announced), we really considered canceling but it was the best decision to go! Gillian and Ralph were exceptional hosts from the initial booking. They were able to accommodate our specific requests without any complaints. Their knowledge of the area and plant life on our walks were amazing. The whole trip was a once in a lifetime experience, we visited stunning wine farms, walked through the most beautiful surroundings and ate like absolute kings (or queens in our case). Even though our plans changed daily with new rules implemented for Covid 19, they were able to roll with this and change around things to make sure we still had a fabulous time. I will highly recommended this trip to anyone that loves wine, lives nature and just likes experiencing the best our country has to offer.Written April 2, 2020
- Elrika H0 contributionsFabulous Wine Walk in the Hemel & Aarde Vallei Mar20An unforgettable experience!! The wine walk with Gillian and Ralph as our guides absolutely blew us away. Exquisite sights, amazing views and superb food .... obviously with lots and lots of wine!! An absolute must do!Written April 1, 2020
- Daveyt19690 contributionsKogelburg Trail-African Sun Road (Ralph and Gilly). We had a fantastic day with Ralph and Gilly who guided us on the Kogelburg Trail. Their knowledge of plants, animals, insects and geology is outstanding, they are super passionate about nature and are able to pass this across in the most engaging way. We (Danel my wife and myself), picked up so much- plantlife especially, all through the most scenic of walks. Ralph and Gill met us at 7.15 prompt and drove us from the meeting point to the reserve (we were a group of 2 so could fit), then at stops around the trail brewed coffee and also provided two large bottles of water each and a fantastic packed lunch. The trail is long so you need to be fairly fit, but the pace was comfortable-the scenery takes your mind off any aches! Ralph and Gill offer a lot of shorter walks and different options, we are super tempted to book a wine walk as well! They are super organised and very accommodating-we booked at short notice, though I would suggest to book early as we were lucky they could accommodate us. We are looking at a whale tour for the future. Nothing but praise to give!Written December 22, 2019

- Lutricia7920 contributionsWinewalk Nov 2019I did not know what to expect but this definitely was one of 2019's highlights. All details were well planned. Gillian and Ralph were well informed and they can cook! I would love to bring my kids to enjoy the fynbos and learn more about the beautiful Hemel en Aarde valley. Thanks once again on a grand finale for 2019.Written December 5, 2019
