Stop At: Table Mountain National Park 8001 South Africa
Officially elected as one of the 7 New Natural Wonders of the World, Table Mountain is also a Natural World Heritage site and the main visited attraction in South Africa. The beauty of this spectacular rock formation can be admired from multiples angles in Cape Town but hiking Table Mountain is the best way to get the ultimate mountain experience and admire the 360 degree breath taking view once you stand on top.
Platteklip Gorge is the most straight forward direct ascent and the first route used by early explorers to reach the summit. This trail is the easiest but still gains around 700 meters over a distance of 3 km, so it is quite steep. The path goes through a deep ravine on the iconic front face of the mountain and features stunning surroundings all the way to the top. The route takes between 1 to 3 hours to complete depending on one's fitness level. Hikers are advised to stop regularly along the way to marvel at the spectacular views and learn about the abundant indigenous flora and fauna with our highly experienced mountain guide.
As you reach the top you’ll get the choice to decide if you also want to hike down the mountain with our guide, after +/- 30 min at the top to contemplate the unrivalled panorama, or if you prefer to make your own way down with the Cable Car (at your own cost).
