What a wonderful experience! We highly recommend this tour company. Our tour guide Louw took us to very special wineries, even one that most “tourists” won’t visit but probably my favorite of all the wineries. Louw was also so knowledgeable of the area being that he was a true local and took us to a picturesque lunch spot with wonderful food. The tour ended at our last winery with a chocolate/wine tasting. All in all a perfect day with a perfect guide!!!

Had a wonderful trip with Wine Escapes. Our guide Martin was so informative and took us to some beautiful wineries that were not the large tourist variety wineries. We learned so much about South Africa and the different people who reside there. Martin was a former winemaker who was so knowledgeable about all of the various aspects of the wine making process. This was an amazing experience with Lizette. So kind and inspiring as well as a great working knowledge of the local wineries. We had no plans to purchase any wine but it was so fantastic we did! So if you’re in Cape Town you won’t be better served by using this service.

We just completed two excellent days with Martin. The locations we visited were amazing, both the wines and the food. Martin was very courteous, knowledgeable and very pleasant to spend our two days with. If we are lucky enough to come back we would definitely want to tour with him again.

Exceptional Wine Tour! John was an excellent guide and really made this wine tour something to remember. He’s well versed in S.African wine and you can tell how passionate he is about the region and wine when he takes you on tour. Took the time to explain in detail the various grapes and wards of the Cape Region. When planning the trip he and team were excellent communicators and John himself was punctual, polite, and fun to be on tour with. Would highly recommend this wine tour for anyone coming to the region.

We had a great day tasting excellent wines, taking in breathtaking views and enjoying the fantastic commentary and knowledge provided by Louw, our tour guide. Louw provided comprehensive knowledge of the geography, the culture and the history of the region. His blend of personal experience and perspective, presented with a great sense of humor, was the perfect complement to an outstanding day. The three wine tasting stops provided a broad representation of the region’s wines, with the last stop in Stellenbosch being the highlight of the tour. The lunch stop at a local restaurant serving traditional South African chicken pie was another memorable experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and cannot speak highly enough of the superb job that Louw did. The effort is quite obviously a labor of love for him, which only enhanced our experience.

Well from the beginning to the end, this was a fabulous tour. Louw was our tour guide for the day. He promptly picked us up in his lovely 7 seater air conditioned car. We set off to our first vin yard in Stellenbosch with time to spare. He is so knowledgeable and pointed out the sights along the way. Each stop was a total delight. Every table was pre reserved and we were warmly greeted. We tasted around 16 wines in total and lunch was delicious. If you want an amazing experience with fabulous company - Then without hesitation I would book this trip. But if you want to finish the day feeling like you've made a friend. Lowe was absolutely amazing. We made a last-minute reservation, and he adjusted our program on the fly to accommodate our requests and customize the experience.

Louw (our guide) arrived bang on 9 am to collect us. Straight away a very warm welcome, sincere and made us feel comfortable. His knowledge of SA was super interesting, made the journey time to the first Vineyard super quick (about 1 hour). We had about 45-60 mins in each Vineyard (we had 3) but Louw accommodates so if you wanted longer , no problem. Our favourite vineyard was l’avenir (buy a single block pinotage, delicious) Louw even swapped our lunch destination as he found somewhere he thought we would enjoy more, top guy. Recommend this tour and Louw 👍

We had a tour with John the owner and the car was comfy during the trip, the locations and wine more importantly were amazing but a special note to John that his company and guidance on the trip made a huge difference and was the best wine tasting we have had (and we’ve had a handful!). Highly recommended.

My husband and I had 3 days of private tours with a great tour guy Louw. The first day we saw a lot of places around Capetown. We saw the Cape peninsula and the penguins. We went to the Cape of Good Hope where we also had a wonderful lunch there. Then on the second day we did Wine tours in Stellenbach. We went to 3 different wineries which was a great idea. The first one we went to was Alto winery we had 5 different wines all good. Then we went to Waterford Estates and had a wine and chocolate pairing. This was very good to see how the chocolates and wine paired together. Then we had lunch at another winery I can’t remember the name and then off to the last winery L’ Avenir for wine & cheese pairing. This was our favorite the cheeses and wines went together so well. We bought 2 bottles to take back home. Another great day. Our third day was a history and culture day. We went to the Vergelegen Estates and toured the property. A lot of history along with the beautiful grounds surrounding the property. We then stopped at another property called Vinoteque a very lovely winery we just toured the property no drinking today. Off to another beautiful property Lorensford which was also very lovely. Drove up to Table Mountain to take pictures to windy to go to far up. That’s all we needed. What a great 3 days with our tour guide Louw.

After spending a beautiful day in Stellenbosh with Louw, we decided to also book a more in-depth visit to the city of Cape Town and its scenic spots. Here too he managed to understand our needs exactly and in one day we visited the major sites of interest in Cape Town! we recommend a tour with this agency and with this guide to all those who want to concentrate the wonders of the place in one day!
