- V5928OTjennam0 contributionsSee the winelands as well as the wineGreat trip, this was the only day of our holiday where it rained the whole day but this was absolutely the right tour to do on a rainy day, picked this one because they pick up outside the v and a area (we were at lagoon beach) and because you get to see the Nelson Mandela statue and towns as well as the wine, tram was great fun, guide was great and made sure we had a fun trip, worth going with this company if you want to see the winelands as a whole and not just the wineWritten September 5, 2024
- X7903HQcarolinea0 contributionsUnforgettable Full-Day Tour with a Fantastic GuideWe had the most incredible experience on our full-day private tour of Cape Town, and I cannot recommend it enough! With only one full day in the city, this tour was the perfect way to see all the main attractions in a short amount of time. Our guide, Danson, was absolutely amazing—he made the entire day seamless and truly unforgettable. The car was comfortable and impeccably clean, with complimentary water bottles provided, which was a thoughtful touch that added to our comfort throughout the day. Danson kept us on track to fit everything into our schedule, sharing his extensive knowledge about the city and its rich history along the way. He went above and beyond, taking fantastic photos of us at every stop and even arranging our dining table at both our lunch stop and the winery, ensuring a personalized and top-notch experience. Even though the Table Mountain cable car was closed for maintenance, the tour company handled it perfectly by substituting the visit with a trip to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. We appreciated that they made this adjustment, so we didn’t lose out on any part of the experience or money. Admission to all attractions was included, and the wine tasting in Stellenbosch was a wonderful highlight. Overall, this tour exceeded our expectations in every way. It was well-organized, informative, and enjoyable from start to finish. Danson’s professionalism and personal touch made the day so special. If you’re visiting Cape Town and want to see it all in one day, this tour is a must!Written September 3, 2024

- monicapappas0 contributionsSpectacular day with Kelvin!Kelvin was our private guide for a spectacular day starting in Cape Town/Bo Kaap area with several stops on way to Cape of Good Hope/Cape Point. Kelvin is a warm and gentle young man with a good personality and sense of humor. An excellent photographer as well! We enjoyed him very much. Wonderful stops and great lunch spot!Written August 30, 2024
- MRMRSPIP0 contributionsGreat service! We hired a driver for the day from Cape Archives and were thrilled with the service. They were immediately communicative and took in all we wanted to do for the day (including Caoe of Good Hope, Boulder Beach as well as several other stops before getting us to the airport for our flight), confirming we could get it all done and letting us know how long it would take. Our driver the day of (Tenashe) suggested several improvements to the flow of stops and provided great recommendations on how best to enjoy each one. He was patient and flexible, stopping for many requested photo opportunities as well as letting us linger longer in a few spots as we enjoyed the day. Fantastic service that I would highly recommend go my recommend!Written August 27, 2024
- Curiosity601848848970 contributionsAmazing experience with Stellenbosch and Franschhoek full day wine tourFamily of 2 adults and 2 kids We had such a great experience with the full day Stellenbosch and Franschhoek wine tour with Natasha from Cape Archives tours! Visited 4 beautiful wineries (Tokara was the absolute highlight), rode the wine tram, had amazing lunch and enjoyed the spectacular views throughout the day. We all felt very welcome at every place along the tour and and really enjoyed the wine and chocolate pairing at Lanzerac (they kindly provided apple and grape cider for the kids to enjoy the pairing too). Comfortable air-conditioned minivan, smooth trip, and special thanks to Natasha who was such a knowledgeable host. We liked this so much that booked the Cape Town and surrounding region tour the next day.Written August 26, 2024
- 697tracic0 contributionsBest day in Cape TownOur guide Candace and our driver Mobee made this an amazing day. They were organized and knowledgeable and fun. We were blessed with a beautiful day and saw all of the sights as promised. Great value!Written August 23, 2024
- rebeccahT6834ZT0 contributionsExcellent dayThis was a very well executed day trip. We got to visit both Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Every winery we visited was beautiful and worthwhile. Our guide, Peter, was informative and interesting and enjoyable to be with. He interacted with us enough, but also gave us a little space to do our tastings. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone who just has a day to explore the area’s wine region.Written August 21, 2024
- P5040WOhelens0 contributionsSimply first classIf you are visiting South Africa you need to use this company. They are excellent. Knowledgeable, professional well connected and excellent value for money. We are a family of 5 and had 3 days staying in Cape Town. I asked Cape Archives Tours to pull together a private tour for us showing us the best of the area. Our tailored itinerary included a Cape Town city Tour, a tour of the cape of good hope, (inc Boulders Beach, Seal Island) a trip to Franschhoek wine Tram and Stellenbosch wine tour and Robben Island Tour. What also set this experience apart was the amazing driver/guide Danson. He was so knowledgeable and so well connected he made everything so easy. Each day we were picked up in an immaculate car, lunch reservations were made at the best restaurants and the day ran like clockwork. I need Danson in my life at home!!!Written August 21, 2024
- R6750QUjohnf0 contributionsAn excellent wine tour and great value for moneyWe had a great day. Candy and Mabee were an excellent guide and driver combination, and were very happy to be flexible on how long we stayed at each of the stops. Lanzerac, Rickety Bridge (where we had lunch) and Grande Provence were top quality wineries with very knowledgeable and friendly staff; also very picturesque locations. Tokara up in the hills was also a spectacular location, although we did not rate the wine as much and the staff were somehow a bit less engaging. We enjoyed the time browsing in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, as well as the short tram ride which made an unusual interlude. We would recommend the tour without reservation.Written August 18, 2024
- jrodi10 contributionsAmazing Wine Tasting Tour! The Franschhoek and Stellenbosch wine tour with Candy and Mabee was great! They were very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the day. We tried delicious wine from 4 beautiful vineyards in during the day! I highly recommend this tour from Cape Archives TourWritten August 16, 2024

- Safari041700865710 contributionsXochitle was the highlight of the tour! The wine tour itself was amazing with plenty of delicious wines and great value for money. However, the main highlight of the day was definitely our tour guide, Xochitle Botma! She was extremely friendly, funny and went out of her way to make us feel welcome in South Africa. On our way to the tour, she told us plenty of interesting things about our surroundings and clearly knew her stuff. If you go on this trip and you are looking to have a laugh and have a guide who genuinely wants you to have the best time ever, I would 10000% recommend you request Xochitle. The places we went were all fantastic and cosy, and I think it was great value for money. Thank you Xochitle for your amazing service on our tour!Written July 31, 2024
- DaveCy0 contributionsNot cheap but well worth the money. We only had one day in Cape Town and wanted to hit as many spots as possible. This tour accomplished that. Our driver/guide Kalvin made this a real private tour. We changed the itinerary several times during the tour to fit our needs. Kalvin was very knowledgeable, personable and funny. We had a great time with him and recommend you ask for him.Written July 30, 2024
- heatherrU1601HL0 contributionsJosie is the best! This was an amazing day trip and I say that even though Table Mountain was closed for maintenance! Josie was great! Throughout the day she made tweaks to our schedule based on rain and wind so that we had a chance to see everything we wanted. She was well informed and easy to talk to. We scheduled 3 separate experiences with 3 different companies throughout our time in Capetown and if I had it to do over again I would have requested Josie for all 3!Written July 23, 2024

Highly recommended! A must!
Best time in Cape Town. The tour is well organized. Bus is a double decker most comfortable with wifi, USB chargers and toilet onboard.
The hosts were fantastic Zuko and Justin just great. Keith the guide was absolutely wonderful. Highly professional, acculturated and funny. One of the best guides ever encountered.
Cape Point is just breathtaking, the views are incredibile. Must do the walking trail from the lighthouse to the tip. It's slightly difficult on the way back if not so fit but it's plain beautiful.
Boulders Beach is sweet. Need to pay 160rand per person to get in which on my behalf is too much. It's great to watch the penguins walk around though.
This tour also passes by the towns of Muizenburg Simon's town and Fish Hoek.

This trip was an amazing experience both candy and her driver pascal( spelling not sure) did an amazing job in ensuring we see as many places as possible and gave us enough time to enjoy each spot without being rushed. Candy went over and above to ensure our needs were met, and ensured that our safety was priority. Throughout the teip she gave us valuable information about sights that we visited and even those that were bit included in the itinerary
She was really entertaining, friendly and supported throughout this long and eventful day. Thanks for making this Christmas eve special ;) would highly recommend to anyone who has limited time on CT and wants to experience the highlights of the city.

We had an amazing, very full day exploring the Cape Peninsula on this tour and highly recommend. Our tour guide Kevin Basseko was incredibly knowledgeable and taught us so much about Cape Town and South Africa'a history along the way. You get to see the historic Bo-Kaap neighborhood, then the coastal suburbs with stunning views before entering the national park and reaching the Cape of Good Hope. Lots of flora and fauna along the way too. Finally the penguins in Simons Town were as cute as expected. We recommend buying the national park entrance fees online ahead of time, especially to skip the line at Boulders Beach to see the penguins.

Very enjoyable day and very good guide. Only comment was that although the restaurant we visited, Les Saveurs, was very good we did spend rather a long time there as the service was not the fastest, half an hour for the coffee to arrive. Time could have been better spent on seeing things

Excellent tour that takes you to the major tourist spots out of reach of the city center. The alternative I considered was taking City Sightseeing’s similar tour, but I’m so happy I went with Cape Archives Tours instead. Having a small group allowed us to adjust the schedule a bit to suit us best. Alain was fantastic! He pointed everything out as we passed by, was super patient and accommodating, and must have taken dozens of pictures for us everywhere. He also scheduled for making a stop at Muizenberg even though it wasn’t part of the itinerary, which I very much appreciated. Thank you so much Alain!

Great day all around! Danson was a terrific guide, one of the best we’ve had for any tour! He was very informative, clearly very knowledgeable about all the different stops but also his wider experiences meant that on the drives inbetween he shared extra information and anecdotes, at the right level of detail. He knew all the tricks to ensure we got the best out of the tour and if that wasn’t enough, he became the entire tour’s, and anyone else who needed, personal photographer! Danson tailored elements of the tour to different members of the group, ensuring those of us who wanted to walk from cape point to the cape of good hope would have time to do so without impacting others on the tour. He was a safe driver and the vehicle was comfortable and had aircon. Danson is an invaluable tour guide and we would recommend any tour with him!

This one day trip stops at all the sites of the peninsula - you will visit Hout Bay and the seals, Simon's town and the natural reserve with the penguins, all the beaches outside Cape Town (Clifton etc) The wonderful Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point and do the trekking in between (if you wish) which is amazing and spectacular. You will also visit Nordhoek a beautiful internal village. it is a little pricey if you do everything but I strongly recommend it. It takes the whole day starting early (before 8 am) and finishing after 6 pm with a visit at BoKaap within Cape Town. our driver and guide Rodney was wonderful! gave us a lot of everyday knowledge about CT and the region, about S. Africa, was punctual, professional, polite, just amazing!

To be fair, the tour covers much more than the title. Thanks to Candice, you’ll know a lot about the history of Cape Town and its surroundings, including bgeography, history, biology and so on. Of course penguins are remarkable and great to see, especially when so close from your eyes, but there’s much more! I definitely recommend it, especially when traveling with Kalvin - such a great driver and one knows much about African people and their history - and Candice, who is officially the best guide I ever travelled with. One thing to note is that everyone in the spots know and like them as well, and they make a great effort to show you a lot of curiosities about the place as a whole.
For the places we’ve visited, I would say you should do the hiking in the cape of good hope for astonishing views and take a time to see great stone art right before the cape national park entrance.
For me, this tour is highly recommended specially when you don’t have much time to spend on the tourist attractions and wanted to see and know much more than the average

We enjoyed the day we spent with Candice and Mabee (apologies if the spelling is incorrect).
Candice was very clear with her communication from the moment we booked. They arrived to pick us up from our accommodation and were cheerful and informative.
There were 3 other couples in the minibus and we were all asked to respect each other's timings so that the day ran smoothly. Candice interacted easily with everyone so that the group was soon chatting together, which is nice when you're in a confined space for the day!
We were slightly unlucky with the weather so we didn't see the Cape peninsula at it's best and, the much awaited Chapmans Peak drive was, sadly, closed but, Candice kept us occupied for the whole day with interesting stories and facts.
This was a full day, with just the right balance of stops to see the highlights and just the right amount of time spent at each.
We enjoyed that we could choose whether we wanted to walk up to the Cape Point lighthouse or take the funicular.
Candice is a mine of information, which she delivers very naturally and Mabee drove us around very comfortably.
So far, our day trip has been the highlight of our holiday. We are happy to highly recommend Candice and Mabee and would definitely book them for some of the other trips they offer if we were staying longer.
Thank you both for a lovely day 😊

Being the first pick up at just after 7am made this a long day but we enjoyed it immensly and got to see a lot of stuff we'd have otherwise missed.
Our driver/guide was Jeremy - very informative and always on hand to take photos.
I can only echo what others have said about the scenery etc so will just add a couple of negatives - if any of your party do the 40 minute trip to Seal Island there's not a lot to do whilst you're waiting for them. We stayed too long in Simons Town, there wasn't a lot to do there once we'd browsed the shops.
Those 2 negatives apart I'd highly recommend it

Hello, I may book a half day tour to see the penguins at Boulder Beach. Which entrance fees to we need to pay in addition to the tour fee? (National Park?, Cape of Good Hope nature reserve? Boulder Beach penguins?)
Thank you.

My answer is the same as that provided by 'London A'. Furthermore, even if you leave out the entrance fees while booking the trip, you could pay it at the entrance (consult the tour guide on how to do this) and it may cost you just a bit more. A full day trip that includes the Cape of Good Hope, with all entrance fees included, is what I would recommend.

Hello, can anyone offer experiences as to weather on the all day tour including Table Mountain and Cape of Good Hope in mid June? How likely is it to need heavy winter clothing as it's near the water for so much of the time?
And how likely is Table Mountain to be closed at the same time?
Thank you.

Is this a hop on hop off bus? I'm staying in Muizenberg, and want to disembark here to avoid an Uber or Bolt fee.

The cost for one person is R650, but the total comes to R1300 +. Does this include all extra entrance fees?
