About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- VK40 contributionsBest Wine Tour CompanyWe had contacted James before coming to Cape Town. He responded to all of our inquiries in an expedited manner. He provided a detailed description of the tour. He was extremely flexible with the payment. We had contracted for a 10-person private tour. His quote was very reasonable. Unfortunately, 4 persons got sick on the day of the tour, but he still conducted the private tour with 6 of us. He was very flexible with the itinerary and adjusted as per our requests. His tour was excellent. I highly recommend Billion Travel for all of your sightseeing tours in Cape TownWritten September 15, 2024
- Andrea R0 contributionsA brilliant day out.We had an amazing trip. James our tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative. On our way to Cape Agulhas we stopped several times. One of the stops included a lovely little cove where the Penguins live. Although the weather wasn’t at its best it was amazing to see the contrasting scenery and some very quaint towns. James was also great at taking photos for us. Thanks for a great day James.Written May 5, 2024
- connellw20160 contributionsTownship and Robben Island TourAmazing tour!! Lele and the Langa tour guide were awesome! Very informative, helpful, insightful, and willing to go over and beyond to ensure their clients experience the ultimate tour. We were very fortunate and blessed to travel to Robben Island and get a once in a lifetime experience, and get the opportunity first hand to listen to inspiring and informative insights from the tour guides on the conditions and unfortunate circumstances political prisoners endured while incarcerated there. It is a most tour if you are in Cape Town, but understand the weather conditions dictate whether or not the boat leaves the docking area in order to travel to Robben Island, and not fault of the travel company. Even though it is understanding the customers may feel disappointed in not being able to visit Robben Island. Nevertheless, it blessing to be able to experience the Robben Island and Township tour and learned about apartheid history and the effects it had on the people in South Africa, and the continue social, psychological, and financial economic problems they continue to deal with this very moment. True story of South Africa from the people who live there, but still seeing the inspiring stories of fighting for freedom and social equality and economic prosperity.Written September 23, 2019
- TAKAO A0 contributionsGood tourThere are many tour to go to Cape of good hope, but a little one to Cape Agulhas. Under these conditions, this gave me a great opportunity to see a point to meeting Atlantic and Indian Ocean. When I applied, there were other participants, but on that day, No one excepting me, so it was more comfortable than I had thought. I recommend that you join this tour if you have neither driving license in South Africa nor confidence to get there alone.Written August 28, 2019

- Sherpa6988140 contributionsAwesome experience! Provided all of our customized tours in Cape Town and Johannesburg!I was transferred to Billuon Travel through Viator. I was really sceptical about booking and paying for services to a stranger. James offered to pick us up from the airport which turned out to be a lifesaver as the original ground transportation did not show. We communicated through WhatsApp. I informed James that I don't like "surprises", we booked customized tours that included Robben Island. The next morning James was not there as scheduled. I was getting upset as we were only in town for 3 days. I asked and called a few places that indicated that Robben Island was sold out (which is why Viator transferred me-original tour was canceled due to unavailable Robben Island tickets). I went to the restroom to collect myself and upon my return he was there. He explained that he was unable to get tickets for the day but we would be able to attend tomorrow. During our customized tour that included an already pre-booked helicopter ride, he was able to secure tickets to Robben Island for us!!!! He put them in my hand which secured my trust in James. Not only did we see everything that we wanted in Cape Town, he even flew to Johannesburg to provide us with our custom itinerary! Other than being a little costly this was a phenomenal experience!! James made everything that we wanted happen including going out at night. We felt safe, secure and had an amazing time!!! Thanks again "No surprises James" 😂😂!!! You will forever be apart of our great stories and fond memories of our first trip to S. Africa and hopefully not our last. Such a beautiful country! The picture is of us with James from Billion Travel at the District 6 Museum!Written July 22, 2019
- Ellen D0 contributionsThis company is not trustworthyI bought and paid for a tour of Robben Island though this company. In the end, they did not order our tickets in time so we couldn’t see the Island where Nelson Mandela was in prison. This was a huge letdown.Written July 21, 2019
- Ellen D0 contributionsComplete disappointment....do not book with this companyI was so excited to go on this tour. The company called me the night before the day trip at 9:30 PM and wanted me to switch dates. I explained that I was only in Cape Town for one more day. They indicated that due to weather we might not get on the boat. I was suspicious. The weather was as beautiful as could be. Our guide took us to the Langa Township which was very interesting. We then went to get on the boat to Robben Island, and after a long delay, we did not get tickets to get on the boat as planned and promised. When we called the company, they hung up on me. This is not the way to treat customers. The other people on the tour were very disappointed as well. I think they set us up right from the beginning and never purchased the tickets even thought I bought and paid for this through Viator a long time ago. I certainly will check out the reputation of companies that Viator uses to provide services. I even have an email where I was assured I would get on this trip to the prison that Nelson Mandela spent so much of his time. Very disappointed. They were quick to offer to reschedule but when you are only in a city for a few days, rescheduling is not an option. Shame on Billion Tours for deceiving us.Written July 21, 2019

Thanks a lot, friendWritten June 3, 2019
- Ericterbel0 contributionsVery well Organized! Highly recommended Insightful, interesting trip to CAPE AGULHASMy Wife and I recently did a private tour of CAPE AGULHAS with Amos and it was worth every penny.Honestly I’m not sure how much we would have enjoyed the Cape Algulhas without a guide like Amos where the Indian and Atlantic Ocean meet. We also visited the Penguins and the Light House very beautiful views from the top. Amos is deeply knowledgeable and professional. He’s also fluent in English making it easier to understand. I would highly recommend for everyone Billion Travel is the bestWritten April 26, 2019
