- Connector251805615850 contributionsUnforgettable Cape Point & Penguin Tour – A Must-Do in Cape Town!I had an amazing experience on the Cape Point and Boulders Beach Penguin Tour with City Sightseeing Cape Town! The trip started from Long Street 81, and our first stop was the National Park, where we visited the lighthouse. After that, we hiked to Cape Point on a breathtaking trail. If you don’t want to hike, no worries! The bus can take you there while the guide hikes with the group. I highly recommend the hike you might even see some wildlife, including baboons! Next, we visited the highlight of the trip the penguin colony at Boulders Beach. These tiny, adorable penguins were the best part of the day. It truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I could have spent the whole day watching them. The bus then took us back to Long Street 81, but the journey itself was also exciting. Our driver, Mr. Friday, drove safely and even slowed down so we could see wild animals like baboons and ostriches. Our host, Aqueela, was patient and made sure everything ran smoothly. And our guide, Charles, was fantastic; he shared so many stories and interesting facts about South Africa with great enthusiasm! In total, I spent 105 euros for the whole day, including the tour, entry fees, and food. If you're visiting Cape Town, I highly recommend this tour, it's worth every penny! SriWritten March 23, 2025

The tour guides are super kind, knowledgeable and the tour is very well thought out, I really enjoyed it as a sampler of everything Capetown (hike, penguins, views, stories). The day flew by. We couldn't recommend this tour enough, it's incredibly insightful and you get to do a beautiful hike from the light house to cape of good hope. Originally we were going to drive it ok our own but we're so grateful we didn't as we would have missed out on a lot of incredible information. Charles is incredibly informative and managed to keep us entertained for the entire tour. Aqeela and Friday were also very helpful and looked after us all day. - 840jefm0 contributionsCape Wonders with Aqueela , Friday & CharlesSpent an unforgettable day exploring Cape Point, the Cape of Good Hope, and Boulders Beach with Aqueela, Friday, and Charles. The scenery was simply breathtaking—towering cliffs, the endless blue of the ocean, and that raw, wild energy that makes the Cape feel like the edge of the world. Watching the penguins at Boulders was the perfect blend of fun and magic, and each stop on the tour was perfectly timed and organized. Huge thanks to Aqueela, Friday, and Charles for making it such a smooth, memorable, and visually stunning experience. - ryanrN6009PT0 contributionsWell worth itWhat I really loved about this tour was that it never felt rushed and wherever we stopped at, we never felt like we were chasing time. The scenery and location was fantastic and the walk was brilliant too. But the overall highlight was at the end when we got to see the lovable African Penguins at Boulders Beach, which you could watch them for ages without being bored. Also Horea our tour guide was great, which he was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour.Written March 22, 2025

The crew was friendly and helpful, and we especially loved the hike from the lighthouse to the Cape of Good Hope sign. We were lucky with the weather and had incredible views. A bit more time at Boulders Beach would have been great, as we had to rush and didn’t get to fully enjoy it. We also didn’t have time to grab a snack or a bottle of water so come prepared. Overall, it was an absolute pleasure. Thank you so much!Written March 22, 2025

My partner and I went here as part of our Cape Town adventures. We only had 4 days so we were hoping to book a half day tour, but none were available for the day we wanted. I'm so glad they were booked and we got to take this tour instead. This trip was exactly what we wanted and it was a fantastic value to boot! We got so many tastings (13 to 15 included) with pairings (cheese, chocolates) at 3 beautiful wineries for less than an Uber to Stellenbosch. On top of the great value, the guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the history of the region and the wines. It was super efficient (very punctual) and fun and we were able to see the region with almost no effort. I highly recommend it if you have a day and want to see all the wine region things without doing all of the research. Low effort, very high reward!

A great tour and MUST DO when visiting Capetown. As a non drinker I was initially not interested in this tour, but after being cajouled by my wife, went along and am so glad I did. This tour is run by City Sightseeing Capetown & we travelled on one of their Superior Double Decker Buses, with really comfy seats & even a loo. Our guide was Brahm who was both informative & witty, with a really dry sense of humour, we had a really good driver as well, but regrettably I forget his name. We picked up the bus close to our hotel at Sea Point at 8am, and being one of the first on grabbed a front seat on the top deck, which was a great bonus, as some of the views from the bus were outstanding. The tour centred around visits to Wineries at Stellenbosch, Franschoek & Paarl. The first stop was at Simonsig an award winnig Winery just outside Stellenbosch, a beautiful place, where we were given a short tour, explanatory film & then a tasting of 4 wines; thoughtfully being a non drinker I was provided with some pleasant non - alcoholic grapejuice. Being early in the day we also had wine, cheese & some salami to go with the drink. We where then taken on an interesting 30/40 minute walk around the picturesque old town of Stellenbosch, followed by a short bus tour on the way out . The next stop was at the bijou & chic town of Franshoek, the journey to which went through some very picturesque scenery. Stop 2 was at Franschoek Cellars, where 4 more wines were presented, and were we had our lunch stop (this we had to pay separately). This once again was a lovely place and a welcome long stop on a warm day. Afterwards we were given a short tour of the picturesque small town of Franschoek, where we had a short 30 minute stop to take in the surrounds. We then travelled to Paarl, which is just a normal working town with little to recommend it, other than being home to some excellent Wineries. Our 3rd & final stop was at Rheboksloof,an eminent Winery in the region where we were offered 5 wines, this time paired with some delicious and amazing chocolates. Once again a very interesting presentation preceded the tasting. We then had time to relax in the beautiful gardens, before leaving for drive back to Capetown, about 1 hour away. Throughout the trip we were regaled with info from Brahm, whose presentation, knowledge & enthusiasm helped make our day. We were back at the V & A terminus just before 6pm, were we caught a shuttle back to our hotel at Sea Point. A long but exhilarating day, which I wouldn't have wanted to miss for the world. Well done to my wife & well done City Sightseeing.

It sounds like you had an absolutely fantastic experience on the tour, despite initially not being interested! The tour provided by City Sightseeing Cape Town sounds well organised and full of memorable moments. Brahm, the guide, seems to have played a crucial role in making the journey informative and enjoyable with his witty and dry sense of humour.

Would highly recommend doing a wine tour of South Africa through Citysightseeing Cape Town. The tour was very affordable considering we visited three beautiful and picturesque vineyards in which we were treated to a vast array of delicious wines local to the regions. Special thank you to Horea our tour guide for providing us with interesting and thorough information to enhance our experience and paying close attention to our needs - going above and beyond to recommend as well as book for us an authentic African restaurant for our evening after the completion of the tour. Also, thank you to Songs our driver for taking us safely to and from the vineyards and navigating an exceptional route that showcases the beauty and wonder of the outskirts of Cape Town.

Thank you for your glowing recommendation! We’re thrilled that you had such a memorable experience on our wine tour. Visiting three beautiful vineyards and enjoying a variety of local wines sounds like a fantastic way to explore the region.

We did the tour with Horea & Song and had a great driver and a very lively guide. The weather was fantastic and the region is an outstanding place to visit when in Cape Town. However, the included wineries were not really special and we had almost no time in the old towns to explore them. During this 10-hour excursion we only had 20 minutes for Stellenbosch's city centre (which is really a pity) and in Franshoek it was a 4-minute bus ride without even getting off the vehicle (which was quite sad as well). I would not do it again, instead of paying ZAR 800 for a big bus group I recommend you to take an Uber (ZAR 250) to Groot Constantia or some other of the fantastic estates around Cape Town, that's far more enjoyable and you will see much more and at your own pace.

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about the tour with Horea and Song. It’s great to hear that you enjoyed the lively atmosphere created by your guide and the fantastic weather during your visit to the region.
However, it’s unfortunate that the included wineries did not meet your expectations and that you felt rushed in the old towns. Having only 20 minutes in Stellenbosch and a brief bus ride through Franschhoek without the opportunity to explore can indeed detract from the overall experience.
Your suggestion to consider alternatives, such as taking an Uber to Groot Constantia or other estates, is valuable. This option likely allows for a more personalized experience where you can enjoy the wineries at your own pace. Thank you again for your insights; they will certainly help others make informed decisions about their visits!

We joined the tour at the Two Oceans Aquarium office. The bus tour was huge - a double decker bus full of people. The bus had a toilet onboard which we didn't use. We did not like the huge amount of people on the tour, making it unpersonal. We found that people were less friendly and more rude when in a big tour group. Brahm was our tour guide. Though he was very informative, we felt that he was not as friendly as the other tour guides we met. We also felt that he had a tendency to give more attention to the dutch people on the tour, leaving out the other nationalities on board. The volume of the loudspeaker was too low for those at the back of the bus to hear especially when some rude people start talking at the same time as the guide. We started the tour in Paarl with a wine and chocolate pairing. Out of the three tasting experiences on the day, this one was our favourite. Very well organised and very well run. Plus the belgian chocolates were divine. We continued with a quick stop at the Huguenot monument in Franschoek followed by a wine tasting and lunch (at your own expense). The wine tasting was rushed and not very well organised as the first one. But the wine farm was amazingly beautiful. Lastly, we stopped at Stellenbosch for a champagne and a live sabrage, followed by a wine and cheese pairing. This was again not very well organised. The cheese board was a shared one and was clearly not enough for everyone to enjoy. There were flies on the cheese as well. Overall, quite hectic and not a peaceful enjoyable wine tasting as the one in Paarl. The tour indicated a walking tour in Stellenbosch. Well, it was not a proper walking tour. It was a super quick stop. We walked 5 mins and were back on the bus.
The tour guide and the driver regularly ensured that everyone was on board, making regular counts. We returned to Cape Town around 17.45.

Thank you for providing detailed feedback about your tour experience. It sounds like there were some enjoyable highlights, particularly the wine and chocolate pairing in Paarl, which you found well-organized and delightful. However, we understand your concerns about the large group size making the experience feel impersonal and the lack of attentiveness from your guide, Brahm, towards all nationalities.
We appreciate your input regarding the sound issues and the organization of the wine tastings. It’s valuable to know that the latter parts of the tour did not meet your expectations, particularly with the shared cheese board and the quick stops that didn't provide a proper walking tour experience. Your feedback will help us improve our tours and ensure that future guests have a more enjoyable and cohesive experience.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

Brahm was a great guide! He said he's been doing this tour for 20+ years and it shows; he's an expert! The bus ride is beautiful (recommend sitting on the left side for the best views!) and the wineries were delightful. Wide variety of wines, food pairings, and nice scenery (the first stop was my favourite). We booked through the City Sightseeing and honestly the value for money was totally work it (only about $50 CAD for a full day plus tastings and snacks included at three stops!). Lunch was extra but very reasonable priced and delicious!

Charles (the tour guide) and Song (the driver) are a great team. Song always drove in a safe manner that despite the difficult weather conditions made me feel relaxed and safe. Charles could not be more informative about the different types of wines and how they became such great quality wines in South Africa. Charles provide us the historical background of the wines in a way that was both full of facts and interesting. Additionally he added lots of humor which made it very entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed the wine tour and I am glad I did it. I would highly recommend Charles as a tour guide because he is clearly very knowledgeable of wines and his delivery is great.

Fantastic value for the money. At $40 USD, we got round trip transportation to and from Cape Town with visits to 3 great wine estates. You get 15 samples of wine and the pours are strong as well - more than just a taste. Beautiful scenery and great commentary along the way. Enough to let you relax while driving between locations (and maybe even sneak in a nap or two) but also to learn interesting facts about the history of how wine came to South African. Highly recommend!
One highlight - you get sat with different folks at each stop for more opportunities to meet people from all around the world.
Horea and Thandu were a great team and did an excellent job!
One small area for improvement: bus could be a little hot at times.

We’re thrilled to hear that you found the tour to be fantastic value for the money! At $40 USD for round-trip transportation from Cape Town and visits to three excellent wine estates, it certainly sounds like a great deal. A perfect wine tour if you want depth to your experience, and like scenic drives. The only tour we could find that visited all three of these regions in one day, and the value was amazing with what was provided.
Added to that an amazing and knowledgeable host who is a native of South Africa with family ties that run deep to the wine culture here. Charles keeps you entertained and informed without making it a history lesson, with great jokes and stories throughout your drive.
Extremely punctual and with a great driver as well, you are able to relax and know that you have a full day of properly curated tastings that take all the guesswork out of planning a trip to these locations.
Went with 8 coworkers and we had an absolute blast!

Today’s wine tour was an absolute delight, whisking us away on a journey through three unique wine regions filled with breathtaking landscapes, world-class wines, and rich cultural experiences.
We began at the Two Oceans Aquarium and then made our way to Stellenbosch, the crown jewel of the Cape Winelands. Often referred to as the Hollywood of South African wine, Stellenbosch featured star performances from Cabernet Sauvignon and Chenin Blanc during a morning wine tasting paired with savory snacks—a liquid breakfast if you will. Besides the excellent wine, the town’s well-preserved Cape Dutch architecture, with its oak-lined streets and charming whitewashed buildings, offered the perfect backdrop for a leisurely stroll and countless photo opportunities.
Our adventure continued in Franschhoek, the “French Corner,” renowned for its Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Here, we enjoyed a second wine tasting followed by lunch at a local estate (a heads-up: the venue is cash-free, so be sure to bring your card). After lunch, we wandered through the historic Franschhoek village, rich in Huguenot heritage, and even paused at Victor Verster Prison—a poignant site where Nelson Mandela spent his final years before his 1990 release.
The final stop on our journey was the Paarl wine region, where a third tasting, complete with delightful sweet pairings, ensured that if you weren’t already tipsy, you definitely would be!
A special highlight of the day was our guide, Louis. He was exceptionally friendly, fun, and went out of his way to accommodate our every need. His informative insights and engaging personality made the experience not only educational but truly enjoyable.
We wrapped up the tour at the waterfront around 5:45 PM, where multiple bus options made it easy to return to the city center or your chosen pick-up point along the Atlantic seaboard.
Overall, the tour was a fun-filled day of exquisite wines, stunning scenery, and fascinating history. I can’t wait to share this wonderful experience with others. Keep smiling, stay thirsty, and see you next time!

What a wonderful and detailed account of your wine tour! It sounds like an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. The itinerary was clearly well-structured, offering a perfect balance of wine tasting, sightseeing, and cultural immersion.
The descriptions of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, and Paarl, along with the specific wines mentioned and the details about lunch in Franschhoek, bring the experience to life. The thoughtful inclusion of the Victor Verster Prison stop adds a poignant historical element.
Your praise for Louis as a guide is well-deserved. A friendly, fun, and accommodating guide can make all the difference in a tour's success. His informative insights and engaging personality elevated the experience to something truly special.
The well-organized logistics, from the start at the Two Oceans Aquarium to the convenient end at the waterfront, are also noteworthy. The clear and concise information you've provided, including the heads-up about the cash-free lunch venue, will be invaluable to future travelers.
