First, we'll hike for 40min to the river through a beautiful indigenous South African forest. Your guide will point out and explain some interesting points about the unique Garden Route forest ecology. On arrival at the river, your qualified and experienced guide will prepare the 30m high abseil, which descends over a spectacular natural overhang. You'll be given instruction on how to use the equipment - even though your guide will be in complete control at all times - so that you understand the procedure and get to learn a new skill. One by one, each participant will complete the abseil. Your guide will descend last of all to join you at the river. You'll then rock hop and scramble through and along the river with the opportunity to get your own pictures of the unspoilt scenery. Wild swimming and a few optional cliff jumps are available for the adventurous. To exit the gorge, there is some steep scrambling and easy grade climbing to negotiate. This will be done with safety ropes in some places. Then we'll soon rejoin the main path leading back to the vehicle. The hike out also requires around 40min.
