I booked this tour to learn about the history of South Africa and visit the city of J’burg and Soweto. The guide Neo was very knowledgable and local to the area and so was able to provide a great depth of information. He was very friendly and made me feel at ease throughout the day

Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. We went through some rough parts of town but he made us feel as safe as possible. Unfortunately Constitution Hill was closed to tourists, that day so we were unable to view it. We would take another tour and highly recommend Tsalanang Tours.

I booked this tour with my wife and we were not sure what to expect from this tour. Our tour guide, Thabang, was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and friendly. He was well prepared to answer any questions we had to ask. The experience was very eye opening and educational. When our guide shared some personal experiences with us it felt more than a tour but like we were close friends, homies if you would. I will certainly recommend this tour to any one that wants to be more than a tourist and get immersed in the history of Johannesburg and South Africa.

Ignorant about South Africa, but with a deep memory about the apartheid and Mandela, I was looking for a guide to discover the related sites of this history and to discover more about the region. The "Best of Gauteng experience" proposal over 6 days was fully matching my expectations and has been such a great experience ! This is also thanks to Thabang himself, my private tour guide : he is a nice, highly skilled, and well educated guy and he could answer all my questions, transparentlly. I highly recommand you to book the 6-days tour ! And I wish Thabang all the best ! He deserves it !

My wife and I did a private tour with Thabang. He was outstanding! We have done city tours all around the world, but this was the best and most educational. Typically, city tours show you the nice public parks, shopping areas, and government buildings (blah, blah, blah). Thabang showed us everything, the good and the bad. We now have a much better understanding of Johannesburg and Soweto, than we ever would have gotten otherwise. We both feel we really learned something.

An absolute MUST do!. This is a hidden gem amongst the available visits around the Johannesburg area. South Africa is rich in cultural history. The Lesedi Cultural Village brings it all together. We were introduced to Zulu, Xhosa, Ndebele, Sotho and  Pedi villages, customs, music and dance. We played drums, introduced ourselves in 5 different languages (or we tried :) ) and got to ask questions. It is clear that these folks have a passion for sharing the amazing cultures here in South Africa. We had been with Thabang while learning about Soweto, so we were thrilled when he was available to join us here. Please, take a short trip to Lesedi Village. Learn, share, experience and be surrounded by the sights, sounds and music of South Africa's native cultures. We ended our time at Lesedi with a delightful lunch that introduced us to some traditional South African food. DO NOT MISS THIS!

What an absolute privilege to have the heart of Thabang poured into us! His knowledge was incredible, his passion for his country immense. It was the most eye-opening tour we have ever had. Our guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything to us. As being a local and had grown up in Soweto he knew from his own experience. We highly recommend this tour if you want to learn more about the history of Soweto.

Thabang Molefe was an extremely knowledgeable tour guide. There wasn’t a question we asked about contemporary life in and history of Johannesburg that he couldn’t answer with depth and context. He was warm, witty and his obvious love for the area shone through. He made us feel very comfortable and cared for. If I ever visit Johannesburg again, I wouldn’t hesitate to take a tour with Thabang again.

The Lesedi Cultural village experience was spectacular. The staff were welcoming. The entertainment was so much fun. We learnt a lot about the different tribes in South Africa, their different norms and cultures and of course their amazing African cuisine. I highly recommend this tour and well as our amazing tour guide, Thabang!

What a great tour! BEST TOUR GUIDE EVER!!!! Thanbang was incredible from the start. He got to know us briefly and then made suggestions to the tour to best meet our needs.
