Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Nicole F0 contributionsWell organized and professional team!!Alex was an exceptional host and driver!!We had an amazing experience. I will surely recommend Moafrika to our family and friends.Written January 15, 2025
- MARTHA F0 contributionsGreat Tour!Learned so much!!!! This was a wonderful way to learn and see the history of Joberg! Our guide was exceptional! He also organized a last minute tour for us for the next day as our flight time had changed. Highly recommendWritten January 14, 2025
- davidhS6065JU0 contributionsMoafrika Soweto tourThis was an excellent tour and can’t speak highly enough about the driver NTSIENI aka Shumba who picked us up and gave us a mini overview of ZA, Joburg & Soweto before the tour started. This prepped us well and then when the Soweto tour started our guide Tinyiko was both informative and had us laughing all the way with his great sense of humour & infectious laugh. A great highlight was the visit to the Soweto child care with gorgeous kids who sang us a welcome song. Please also Tinyiko organised our return transport with Thomas another driver to get us back to the airport safely in with ample time to catch our flight home. I would highly recommend MoAfrika for a Soweto tour.Written January 13, 2025
- 103maddyj0 contributionsWonderful experience for a solo travelerI traveled solo to South Africa for the Christmas break (Dec-2024) and found MoAfrika during my search for a tour operator. As a solo female traveler, below are my top priority items: - Safety - Making sure I get my $$$ worth in experiences - Having the same experience that a couple, group of friends or a family would have I got connected with Lavender who went above and beyond to make my trip memorable. She listened to my needs and helped me narrow down the reserve / lodge I should stay at in KNP (I opted for the 4day / 3night the Greenfire lodge that I absolutely loved). Throughout my trip she stayed connected to make sure I was enjoying my safari and got to see the animals. She also helped me with planning my day tour at Johannesburg (with my guide Thapelo who was absolutely outstanding in narrating the history). I left KNP and Johannesburg with fond memories and felt I had gained a friend (even though our conversations were purely on WhatsApp). Thank you MoAfrika and Lavender for this amazing experience!Written January 13, 2025

I had previously visited the Apartheid Museum and Constitution Hill, and this tour helped me tie together all the history. It helped me better appreciate the resilience of the South African people.Written January 8, 2025
- 681tylak0 contributionsGreat experienceThe tour was really nice, the guide was just amazing. Everything was really well explained, he would answer all our questions and even go further. He left us time at every stop and even helped us taking pictures. It's a great tour, and we really learn more about the country, the history and the diamondsWritten January 7, 2025
- robertmL8712GJ0 contributionsThe animals appeared unexpectedlyThe animals appeared unexpectedly, starting with elephant as we went over the cattle grid at the entrance. They try to ensure the animals are wild and they don’t become familiar with humans, so they can’t predict where the predators will be. They rely on guides reporting sightings. When a lioness was spotted about 6 cars turned up at the same time. We saw it but I failed to get a photo as it moved and disappeared behind trees. We didn’t see a leopard but someone in our vehicle spotted a cheetah relaxing by the roadside, from time to time it would raise its head to keep an eye on us but lay down again when it decided we were no threat. I got good photos of zebra and rhinoceros as they crossed the road in front of us. There was a monkey at the entrance scavenging from dustbins, eventually it climbed a poll and I got a decent photo.Written January 7, 2025

We absolutely loved our Pilanesburg Safari. From the moment we landed at JNB to be picked up from the airport to drop off after the experience, everything was fantastic. We were welcomed with juice upon arrival at the Black Rhino Lodge, our room was clean, spacious, and peaceful, and the hospitality was top notch. Our driver was so nice and knowledgeable and our favorite part was getting to see a lioness hunt and kill a zebra right in front of our eyes. Totally unforgettable! We definitely recommend this experience to anyone thinking about booking.

I cannot express into words how impressed I am with the luxury and comfort that this stay offers. I would like to thank MoAfrika and their team for keeping us informed and for organizing the lovely open view game drives filled with brilliant sightings. Our guide was talented, professional and extremely well-versed with local wildlife.

Every euro we spent on this adventure was absolutely worth it! Pick up in Johannesburg/Sandton worked perfectly. The driver was on time and the ride was perfectly organized! The Black Rhino Loges is an absolute highlight! The entire staff were extremely friendly, helpful, accommodating and you immediately feel at home! The accommodation in the individual lodges is fantastic! Very clean and totally identical! For our safari rides we were allowed to drive with Rangerin JENNA! Apart from being totally nice, she also has enormous knowledge and has made every trip a mega experience! We can highly recommend this trip and would do it again anytime!

We booked a 2 day safari tour and stayed at Ivory Tree Lodge. The rooms, food and open game drives provided by the lodge were excellent. The transfers from Johannesburg provided by MoAfrika Tours did not meet our expectations. Although we advised we would be travelling with 4 suitcases, no provisions had been made on the outbound transfer so the suitcases needed to be stacked in the aisle. The outbound transfer was a disgrace. Just before checking out of the lodge we received an email, offering us a choice between being picked up at the arranged time 11:30 AM) and spending time in Pilanesberg on a closed game drive. Or spending time in the lodge and being picked up at 2:00 PM. We chose the first option but ended up spending 3 hours in the reception area for our transfer. The people at MoAfrika Tours kept telling us they did not know why the driver did not pick us up but he would be there within 10 minutes. He arrived a little before 2 PM and was met by a group of angry people (7 in total) who had been waiting since 11 AM. And 2 people who had chosen the second option, to be picked up at 2. The driver told us that the people of MoAfrica were well aware that he would not be able to pick us up before 2PM as he was in the park woth another group of people. So obviously it had been the intention of MoAfrika from the start to pick us up at 2. They just were not honest about the situation and kept us waiting for 3 hours without food as they had us believe the drivers would be there any minute. To make things worse, the driver was supposed to wait until 3 PM to pick up 3 more people. After we refused to wait any longer (5 of us had flights to catch), he decided to leave the other 3 behind and drove us to the airport. The driver was not to blame for this mess up, solely the people at MoAfrika office.
After returning home, we sent a complaint to MoAfrika, but we have not received a reply or apologies.
I would not recommend using MoAfrika Tours, just book the lodge yourself, nearly every lodge and hotel offers transfers. No need to book through MoAfrika or any other operator.

Maybe my idea of luxury is different from that of MoAfrica but sitting in a completely full mini bus with luggage on the floor for 3 hours was not what I expected. A "game drive" in another closed and full mini bus through the park was also not what I expected.
My expectations where met as soon as I arrived in Shepard's Tree. Fantastic lunch, beautiful game drive with a knowledgeable guide, an outdoor barbecue dinner, a gorgeous room, another great game drive in the morning and a great breakfast. Around that time a got a message if I wanted another "game drive" in a closed vehicle at 11:30 or a pick up at 14:00. I opted for the game drive and was lucky as there were only 4 of us in the mini bus so at least everyone had a window seat. If the animals were on the wrong side of the bus, you could only catch a glimpse of them.
From the lodge to the airport I had to change bus twice. Arriving at the airport one hour late was no issue for me, but not sticking to the schedule may be a issue if you have a plane to catch.
MoAfrica provides low quality transport and no luxury at all. For that they depend on the hotel. I don't recommend you use them as an intermediary, hire a rental car or let the hotel arrange a pickup.

Good morning
Perfect hotel, very well organized safari
The transport is not up to the level of the service
It took us 4 hours to get there, we were 7 people and we stopped to take 3 additional people, the journey normally takes 3 hours
On the return trip 4.40 mins with recovery of other pax in different lodges

Moafrika office were very helpfull. The booking was quick and one payment was made. I knew exactly what was incl and excl in the tour. The driver picked us up on time and he even offered wifi service. Upon arriver at the Black Rino lodge we received welcome drinks. The accomodation was stunning in every way and very luxurious. The safari was my best one thus far. We saw a variety of animals. The guide knew the park like the palm of his hand.

The Pilanesberg private game reserve is amazing and its full of animals and beautiful sightings and the open vehicle game drives are the most exhilarating things I have done in a long time. MoAfrika did an amazing job of setting up this stay as well as the transportation considering we were time-strapped and in a rush. All I can say is you won’t regret booking this.

Booked this luxury safari together with my daughter.
We did not experience any luxury. The photos are absolutely not of the hotel where you ultimately spend the night.
The safari trips were beautiful. That is definitely recommended, but do not book this option. The photos are very misleading.
You end up with a really bad room. The photos are from a completely different hotel.

This was an extremely well-organized tour with great communication throughout. What an amazing experience this was and what an incredible place to explore in open vehicle safaris. MoAfrika and our guides were great, and they ensured that throughout the tour, that all safety measures were met.
