I did the Liliesleaf and Constitution Hill tour that focuses and 2 important apartheid era sites and the new Constitutional Court. Mo was my main guide. He arrived on time and we spent a half day together. Mo is friendly and personable. He gave me the history of Johannesburg and of apartheid while we were driving to the 2 sites. He also pointed out some sites of Johannesburg. He was a good driver in the busy roads of Johannesburg. At each site, there was a specialist guide who showed me around. At Liliesleaf, it was a one-on-one tour and at Constitution Hill, there were 4 on the tour (though other tours had more than 20 people). Both of the specialist guides were excellent. If you want to learn more about apartheid, especially if the Apartheid Museum is closed, I recommend this tour.

We had the most amazing day and tour with Banele. The day flew by and we did not imagine how much knowledge we would gain by the end of it. Learning about the real life experiences, meeting the locals and eating the delicious foods is something we will never forget. If you are thinking of booking a tour with this company, do it!

Within an acceptable time, you can visit a reserve that offers close encounters with a variety of wildlife. The predators are kept separate and well-fed to avoid any issues in the reserve. It's a wonderful experience to explore the reserve in an open safari vehicle. I chose to visit the Cradle of Humankind instead of the caves, even though the caves were also very interesting to see. I wanted to learn more about where and how humankind began. My guide, Thabang, was absolutely amazing and very helpful.

We booked the full day Johannesburg & Apartheid Museum tour and thought it was fabulous. The tour is extensive - we were pick up from our hotel at 9am (in a very comfortable and modern minivan) at dropped back just after 5pm having visited the majority of the key sites across Johannesburg including Gandhi Square, Constitution Hill, Mining District, Nelson Mandela Bridge as well as spending a couple of hours at the Apartheid Museum. Our guide for the day was Banele and he was excellent - incredibly knowledgable, so passionate about his culture and country and looked after us throughout the day so well - thank you. Banele also recommended somewhere for lunch (we ate at Pata Pata) but he would have been happy to take us to where we wanted to go if we had a preference. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone - it's a fantastic way to get to see the highlights of Johannesburg in a single day and understand the heartbreaking history of apartheid which at times was very moving. The museum is incredible and having spent 2 hours here you hardly touch the surface. I would also add that the communication from Steve at Stephenson Adventure, prior to the tour, confirming pick up times, confirmation as to who our guide would be and responding to questions was also very good. A wonderful day.

This was a great tour, covering all of the highlights of Johannesburg and Soweto. Mo was a very informative guide and made it a comfortable experience for a solo female traveller. Highly recommend!

Mo was absolutely amazing! He gave us such eye opening perspectives and was a wealth of knowledge. I felt like I was in great hands throughout my tour. It was the perfect way to learn as much as possible in a short time about the country's history, heritage, and culture. Definitely recommend, especially if you're short on time.

Very informative and non-biased tour with great history and lively presentation. Mo was great and a joy to be around. The stop in Kliptown was touching and provided real insight on reality of the socio-economic issues of South Africa.

This tour was incredible. An absolute rollercoaster (emopitionally) but truly the best way to see and learn about Johannesburg and South Africa. Our guide, Twolo, was an incredibly passionate and optimistic individual who was extremely knoweldgeable. He spoke for much of the tour giving us an incredible amount of insight into the city and how things have canged and continue to change since apartheid. We saw all of Johannesburg and greatly enjoyed the history and expereience of what I have no doubt will become a great city for all.

One of the most informative and educational experiences from Johannesburg to Soweto. The best tour guide of our trip to Africa. Tsholo was an amazing guide. His personality and knowledge of past and current events was phenomenal. Everywhere we went he knew the people, the stops and who we could learn more from. The trip with Tsholo was perfect from start to finish. I highly recommend if you are taking a tour anywhere in the Johannesburg area make sure he is your guide.

Excellent tour with Banele - which had to vary from the published route as the apartheid museum was closed that day. Nevertheless we had a fantastic time from a highly efficient knowledgeable and polite guide in a great air conditioned vehicle. Highly recommended
