      Buyer Beware!!! February 2024
Our drivers were amazing, top tier!!! However we were robbed by the company. The owner/manager inflated our 1-day Safari price by $100 USD pp(we paid $155 USD pp for a group of 22ppl but the Safari only costs $50 USD pp) where did the addt’l $105 come from? Make it make sense. This is so unfortunate but never again!!!

      Fantastic Lodge
This was my 2nd time and what could I say. It is quiet, beautiful surroundings, chalets are impeccable ( we had out plunge pool and 2 bedroom villa). The high light was the dinner at the Booma. Tafa the Manger was very helpful, professional and made sure we were all well looked after. Will be back

Madikwe River Lodge / Safari Tour
Fantastic experience with all staff at the river lodge friendly and very attentive making our visit extra special. For our safari we were lucky enough to get Benny as our ranger to take us out. Benny’s knowledge and willingness to go that extra mile with a little bit of luck added resulted in us gaining sight of all the big five, Hyenas, Wild Dogs and much more, and all close up. An exceptional experience!!!

      Restaurant and food very poor
The restaurant and food is very poor. Standards have dropped with unfriendly waiters. The Safari and amenities are very good with excellent accommodation and surroundings

The hospitality is amazing. The staff members are friendly and professional. Room service is beyond, the rooms are clean
We’re coming back. We have enjoyed our four days stay. The food is fresh and clean and enough for everyone and one can go back as much as they like.

      Madikwe is worth visiting
Haven’t stayed a Thakadu River, but I highly recommend Madikwe. Not as big, clearly, as Kruger, but uncrowded and less expensive than the fancy places in the Greater Kruger. Stayed at Tau and Buffalo Ridge.

      Could be first class
The communication between the tour company and the driver was poor. The driver arrived late and hadn't got the message that we would be waiting for him in our hotel lobby at 8pm. The driver also didn't know what was included in the tour and we had to get him to contact the tour company so they could confirm that visiting the caves and lunch were included. However, the tour itself was excellent, hence four stars. If the communications/logistics were sorted out, it could be first class.

      Great experience
It was a really nice trip. The guide is absolutely amazing. He had a special connection to the animals and told us a lot about them. I never thought that we would see so many animals. I really recommend this tour.

very inflexible team. Beware before you book! Choose a different site if you can
The reservation team at Aha Thakadu is very inflexible and customer service is awful. We were 4 travellers and had a very bad experience. I would pick a different game reserve next time.

      Informative and pleasant trip
Prosper, our guide, was very friendly and flexible - he was willing to adapt to our interests and curiosities. He answered all our questions and was very knowledgeable. We were his only clients on this trip, so we were probably lucky. Overall, this was a very enjoyable trip!

Belizean Q'eqchi Maya on Safari In South Africa
Best experience ever and a wonderful way to honour the lands of the African people! The animals and the landscape is a gift from creator and we should all promote its healing, and its care. This tour allows us to see and appreciate the bounty of the land without harming the environment. It is this that we as tourist should go and see. I stand against all HUNTING for SPORTs in Africa! Pay for a Safari instead and appreciate life!

Our stay with the big 5
We stayed at the Shepherds Lodge on the first leg of our honeymoon and were greated with amazing scenery. Martin our guide was amazingly knowledgable and did his best to help us see the big five. He knew a lot of info about the animals and wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty...literally pulling elephant poo apart to tell us about it. But the highlight of our trip was an elephant coming the watering hole meters from the swimming pool and watching the magnificent animal close up. As they knew it was our honeymoon they spoiled us with a complimentary bottle of champagne, chocolates and ran a bath for us on our first night. Rooms were extremely clean, and the service was first class. Plus all the jerky you can eat!

We spent approximately eight days touring various areas of South Africa. Robert was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and patient answering just about EVERY question we had for him! Robert was always punctual, friendly, and seemed to be well known and respected in nearly every environment we entered be it one of the most amazing 5-star VIP dining experience to the buffet dinner in the village. We we traveling with multiple families and small children and every activity was appropriate and allowed us to have one of the most memorable traveling experience I could have imagined. Robert made us all feel safe and if we were being escorted by one of our very own family members who had a vested interest in making sure we were comfortable and having the best time possible. Robert and Bono Tours is like extended family to us now! I would recommend Bono Tours and Safaris again...and again...and again. Thank you Robert!!! We love you Brother!
