Best Day Out in the Water
An absolutely fantastic day out on the water with Simon. The tour said about 3 - 3 1/2 hours, but was about 7 in total. We got to see manta rays, eagle rays, black tip reef sharks and a moray eel in a beautiful coral garden. If you’re looking for an outstanding day out on the water, look no further. This was the best tour of our Bora Bora visit and MUCH better than the self driven boat option.

YOU WILL LOVE THIS SNORKEL EXPERIENCE!
This is an amazing tour with two knowledgeable helpful guys, Captain Simon and Mickey. The tour couldn't have gone any better. They picked us up at the pier in town, close to where our cruise ship was docked. They took us out to see eagle rays. Mickey went to great lengths to find them for us. He was an excellent guide. Next we were off to see small car size manta rays. We finished in a beautiful lagoon and saw a variety of reef fish. The boat is a nice large one and is covered for sun protection. There is a great ladder to assist getting back on the boat and Mickey is there to get your fins and mask before exiting the water and Simon is always there to help you get back in the boat. This tour will not disappoint in any way and it will be a highlight of your days in Bora Bora.

        Knowledgeable Guide — Magical Experience
We booked this tour at the last minute, as we didn’t get our fill after just one snorkel tour on Bora Bora’s lagoon (and we were crossing our fingers to perhaps be lucky enough to see a Manta Ray). The weather in Bora Bora was quite windy during our trip, so this increased the turbidity of the water while we were there. Nevertheless, Simon was able to successfully guide us to see a large group of eagle rays and even a Manta Ray. The experience was magical. Simon is very knowledgeable about the area and safety guidelines regarding how to approach sea life in a respectful way (no free diving, avoiding splashing, etc.). He is also very cognizant of different swimming ability levels and informs the group about the different conditions at each spot. We highly recommend this tour and wouldn’t hesitate to book with Simon again!

Excellent trip!!! Simon an Tom were the best. They made sure we found sites that we could safely snorkel and we saw an abundance of sealife.

        Manta Rays and Coral Garden
This was a fabulous tour. We were on a cruise through the islands and they were the only ones to specifically target Manta Rays as a feature, plus they offered an afternoon tour which worked best for us due to when we'd come into port, so we booked them direct. It all was super easy: on-time pick-up from the pier, responsive via email when we confirmed the night before and had to adjust arrangements, small group (6 of us!), and amazing guide. The equipment was high quality... the fins were top and they had snorkeling masks for those that needed it. What sets this tour apart from the others in Bora Bora is that they target Manta Rays. I love to snorkel and had already seen lovely coral gardens, but I wanted something more. Our first stop was where Manta Rays like to visit so the fish of the area can "clean them". We were guided to stay at the top of the water and not dive down so we don't spook them, and we had plenty of time in the area to admire these amazing creatures. We saw 3 that day! The coral garden stop was also beautiful as he took us to a lovely spot where we followed him around a large area. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made sure all were enjoying themselves. FYI for others: I saw that they were happy to hold luggage at their office for another couple on our tour and they had showers there, etc so you can freshen up; so that looked convenient. Plus we had a non-swimmer in our group and he seemed to have a nice time especially since the boat has shade and is small enough where he could still admire the fish from the comfort of his seat. Overall, I'm a huge fan of this tour company and thank them!

This was an amazing trip with a great captain who went in the water with us and explained everything about what we were looking at. We swam with several manta rays for an hour then he took us to two other great spots.

We intimidated and harassed other boaters
I had a disappointing experience with Tohora in Bora Bora. If you have respect for wildlife and responsible behavior, I strongly advise against choosing this whale watching company. I witnessed Tohora Bora Bora's disregard for wildlife guidelines. During our excursion, they consistently violated the law by approaching whales within 100 meters and traveling at unsafe speeds near these creatures. This was a concern. However, what was even more disturbing was their aggressive and harassing behavior towards other boaters on the water. It made me uncomfortable. It was as if they saw other boats as people to be bullied rather than sharing the beauty of the ocean. I was shocked by their actions and the lack of courtesy they displayed to others. It diminished my experience and shouldn't have been a focus of the excursion. The reason I'm giving them one star is because they provided water on board. However, this minor convenience cannot overshadow their disregard for the welfare of whales and their aggressive approach towards fellow boaters. It appears that they either have no knowledge of the laws or consciously choose to break them with their reckless boat maneuvering, proximity to the whales, and harassment of other boaters. If you care about whales and value responsible and respectful wildlife encounters, please go to Moorea instead. Their harassment of other boaters on the water is not only unpleasant but also unsafe for everyone involved. We felt uncomfortable and didn't have a positive experience.

        The most incredible 2 days
We had the most amazing time! We did whale watching which was incredible, Simon was great and talked us through everything. We were happy just to see a whale but we were so lucky and got in the water with them. We booked the snorkelling trip for the next day too and saw manta rays, eagle rays and so many other fish. Very special 2 days! Thank you so much

        Wonderful Lagoon Snorkeltrip
We booked an afternoon tour since the morning one was full and had a very nice and professional dive master born on the island to take us to 4 very nice spots. First one was near a motu and had classes of fish around nice corals, second one was watching a class of 9 eagle rays circling around for a long time, mostly the 2 of us being alone to watch, later we were joined by 2 other snorklers (just to demonstrate the quiteness….). Then we went to the so called Manta spot, but since it was afternoon we could not see any. Even if our guide tried really everything. Maruuru! The last part was a very beautiful snorkel swim at the reef in a coral garden in quite water, really really beautiful. We went also on this trip once around the hole island which is a very nice sight. In summary this was a lovely afternoon with great snorkeling, very private. Minimum participants are 4 and since we were just 2 we decided to pay for 4 and had a super private tour.

Amazing!!! We had such a wonderful day with Simon. He gave us all the very importint instructions to to get this impressive and simultaneously respectful experience with the wales. We saw 5 whales and could swim with two of them! With Simon as our guide with his knowledge out of 20 years experiencing it was a perfect day and we love to come back to Bora Bora and do it again!!

Only Whale tour to use in all French Polynesia
Highly recommend this tour with Simon and his team. Highly professional and a fun bunch to be out on the water with. We tried this tour with other companies in Moorea, they were terrible. The entire trip and interaction we had with the whales here in Bora Bora was next level and we will never forget this experience. We saw makes, females and calves, sometimes all together. I would highly recommend them, we loved it so much as soon as we got home we booked to go again a few days later. Thanks Simon and Lawrence.

We had a wonderful afternoon on the water with Simon. His love for the island and knowledge of the area added much to our trip. The snorkeling was fantastic, we even saw manta rays!
One of our favorite excursions on our 12 day cruise.

      Thank you Simon!

Thank you Angie for your comment and your trust in booking the excursion privately. We were able to go to the sites you wanted so that everyone could enjoy them even Jeff and Glenda who were not comfortable in the water, so I innovated and made a walking path on the site of the coral garden so that they can understand and observe underwater life. I hope the rest of your cruise lived up to your expectations. Simon

Booked this private tour through Trip Advisor and then waited three days with no response. Upon calling directly, the tour operator stated that they intended to decline the request because they did not offer this private tour. Not sure why they would advertise on Trip Advisor for a tour that they do not offer. In any case, we are very disappointed with Tohora Bora Bora and will book another tour operator instead.

Ia orana, I'm sorry you were disappointed but you called me during the tour and I could not verify if your reservation request was rejected or not but on returning to my office as I had told you I had rejected this one as soon as I received the Viator booking email so I do not know what happened. So I went to check that all private snorkeling or shared boat trips were closed for this period and I realized that unfortunately some of them remained open for booking so I closed them. I'm sure you'll find by September 16th being on July 13th a tour operator that will offer the snorkeling tour in private. I wish you a pleasant stay on the island of Bora Bora Best regards, Simon

Thank you Philippe for your comment, We spent a very nice afternoon in your company, we started by observing 3 to 4 manta rays in water that was not clear but they were in the gully where the depth is not important. Then we went to the coral garden, to finish outside the lagoon where the water was crystal clear. And yes the new boat is black and orange just like the old one but this one is much bigger (9 meters against 6m30), I'm glad you like the orange color being that of your country (Holland) even if now you live in Waterloo, Belgium. It was a pleasure to have you and your family on board as not all people living in the same place are alike (referring to a comment from September 1, 2022;) using Tripadvisor yourself for your restaurant we have the same point of view but it's part of the game as the other would say ;) I hope your return was not too hard and I wish you and your family the best for 2023 ! Thank you very much Rick for your comment. We were lucky the rain stopped at the end of the afternoon to resume at the end of the excursion. The conditions were not the best but you did well not to cancel, despite the poor visibility we were lucky enough to see a turtle then two mantas who made many round trips in 8 meters deep which allowed to see them well. We had the chance to observe from the boat another manta while going to the site of the eagle rays. We ended up in the rain but it was a great trip. Simon

Simon our guide was very knowledgeable and professional at all times. My friend who wasn't a strong snorkeller became tired during one of the snorkel spots, and when simon saw this, he snorkelled over to her, let her grab his arm, and he done all the work snorkelling so she could just glide with him, and still enjoy it, which she was very thankful for. Highly recommend doing this Eco tour!

What an amazing trip! The only way to truly see Bora Bora’s amazing lagoon. We saw magnificent manta rays, natural reefs with amazing corals, a school of spotted rays too many to count, and the amazing area lovingly called the aquarium with every fish imaginable! Our guide Simon was not only very knowledgeable but also really funny! We also got a great island tour with great views of the huts over the water!

Wonderful morning with Simon. We were picked up at our resort dock at 8:30am, and our first stop was to see spotted eagle rays in crystal clear water. We were the first boat there and were able to enjoy following the rays all by ourselves. This was an advantage of going with Simon - he will take you places where there are no other boats. Next stop was the coral gardens on the south end of the lagoon close to the reef. We’ve snorkeled in many places around the world, and this was one of the most naturally beautiful coral gardens we’ve ever seen, complete with many fish and even a black tip reef shark! Once again, we were the only boat there. The current was strong and because I am not a strong swimmer, Simon helped me by holding my hand and leading me through the entire experience. Last stop was a popular snorkeling spot called The Aquarium. We have never swam with so many fish in our lives - hundreds! Simon was in the water with us the whole time and directing our attention to things we would never have noticed on our own, including the highly camouflaged stone fish. In between stops, Simon shared stories about his experiences in the BoraBora area - imparting his passion and concern to make your experience the best it can possibly be. If you’re considering a snorkel tour in BoraBora, this is your guy!

Thank you Carolyn for your comment and your trust in my company. You preferred the private boat trip rather than shared which allowed us to organize the excursion according to your desires and especially to avoid do the same sites that you did with another company a few days earlier. Now I wish you to experience the same emotions in Rangiroa and especially that you can observe the dolphins in the pass. Thanks again to you and Michael Simon
