Best Day Out in the Water
An absolutely fantastic day out on the water with Simon. The tour said about 3 - 3 1/2 hours, but was about 7 in total. We got to see manta rays, eagle rays, black tip reef sharks and a moray eel in a beautiful coral garden. If you’re looking for an outstanding day out on the water, look no further. This was the best tour of our Bora Bora visit and MUCH better than the self driven boat option.

YOU WILL LOVE THIS SNORKEL EXPERIENCE!
This is an amazing tour with two knowledgeable helpful guys, Captain Simon and Mickey. The tour couldn't have gone any better. They picked us up at the pier in town, close to where our cruise ship was docked. They took us out to see eagle rays. Mickey went to great lengths to find them for us. He was an excellent guide. Next we were off to see small car size manta rays. We finished in a beautiful lagoon and saw a variety of reef fish. The boat is a nice large one and is covered for sun protection. There is a great ladder to assist getting back on the boat and Mickey is there to get your fins and mask before exiting the water and Simon is always there to help you get back in the boat. This tour will not disappoint in any way and it will be a highlight of your days in Bora Bora.

        Knowledgeable Guide — Magical Experience
We booked this tour at the last minute, as we didn’t get our fill after just one snorkel tour on Bora Bora’s lagoon (and we were crossing our fingers to perhaps be lucky enough to see a Manta Ray). The weather in Bora Bora was quite windy during our trip, so this increased the turbidity of the water while we were there. Nevertheless, Simon was able to successfully guide us to see a large group of eagle rays and even a Manta Ray. The experience was magical. Simon is very knowledgeable about the area and safety guidelines regarding how to approach sea life in a respectful way (no free diving, avoiding splashing, etc.). He is also very cognizant of different swimming ability levels and informs the group about the different conditions at each spot. We highly recommend this tour and wouldn’t hesitate to book with Simon again!

Excellent trip!!! Simon an Tom were the best. They made sure we found sites that we could safely snorkel and we saw an abundance of sealife.

        Manta Rays and Coral Garden
This was a fabulous tour. We were on a cruise through the islands and they were the only ones to specifically target Manta Rays as a feature, plus they offered an afternoon tour which worked best for us due to when we'd come into port, so we booked them direct. It all was super easy: on-time pick-up from the pier, responsive via email when we confirmed the night before and had to adjust arrangements, small group (6 of us!), and amazing guide. The equipment was high quality... the fins were top and they had snorkeling masks for those that needed it. What sets this tour apart from the others in Bora Bora is that they target Manta Rays. I love to snorkel and had already seen lovely coral gardens, but I wanted something more. Our first stop was where Manta Rays like to visit so the fish of the area can "clean them". We were guided to stay at the top of the water and not dive down so we don't spook them, and we had plenty of time in the area to admire these amazing creatures. We saw 3 that day! The coral garden stop was also beautiful as he took us to a lovely spot where we followed him around a large area. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made sure all were enjoying themselves. FYI for others: I saw that they were happy to hold luggage at their office for another couple on our tour and they had showers there, etc so you can freshen up; so that looked convenient. Plus we had a non-swimmer in our group and he seemed to have a nice time especially since the boat has shade and is small enough where he could still admire the fish from the comfort of his seat. Overall, I'm a huge fan of this tour company and thank them!

This was an amazing trip with a great captain who went in the water with us and explained everything about what we were looking at. We swam with several manta rays for an hour then he took us to two other great spots.

        The most incredible 2 days
We had the most amazing time! We did whale watching which was incredible, Simon was great and talked us through everything. We were happy just to see a whale but we were so lucky and got in the water with them. We booked the snorkelling trip for the next day too and saw manta rays, eagle rays and so many other fish. Very special 2 days! Thank you so much

        Wonderful Lagoon Snorkeltrip
We booked an afternoon tour since the morning one was full and had a very nice and professional dive master born on the island to take us to 4 very nice spots. First one was near a motu and had classes of fish around nice corals, second one was watching a class of 9 eagle rays circling around for a long time, mostly the 2 of us being alone to watch, later we were joined by 2 other snorklers (just to demonstrate the quiteness….). Then we went to the so called Manta spot, but since it was afternoon we could not see any. Even if our guide tried really everything. Maruuru! The last part was a very beautiful snorkel swim at the reef in a coral garden in quite water, really really beautiful. We went also on this trip once around the hole island which is a very nice sight. In summary this was a lovely afternoon with great snorkeling, very private. Minimum participants are 4 and since we were just 2 we decided to pay for 4 and had a super private tour.

        Amazing!!
Highly recommend. Very easy to communicate with; always replied to our emails. Picked us up right on time. We liked that there were only 8 people plus two guides. Made for a more personal experience. Both guides were very nice and helpful and were so knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the whales. They were very respectful of the whales. We had an amazing time and throughly enjoyed our trip. Book with them. You will not regret it.

You don't really know Bora Bora until you take this tour.
Our tour was led by Vincent, a 25-year resident of Bora Bora. Our group was split between French and American tourists, so he very kindly provided running commentary in both French and English. We started with snorkeling in a coral garden that is a fish nursery, then went to a spot to see huge manta rays, then looked and found a small group of eagle rays to finish our tour. Throughout, Vincent snorkeled with us, guiding us with his red life ring. He provided interesting commentary on the wildlife we saw and about the Bora Bora itself. Great time and highly recommend.

        A magical tour!!
Wow, this was an incredible tour! From the get go I had clear and quick communication about what to bring and where to meet. We enjoyed a tour of the whole island, and stopped at 4-5 spots to snorkel with giant manta rays, sting rays and fish in the coral gardens, all away from other bigger tour groups. The tour went longer than the expected time because we found a big school of about twenty stingrays on the way back, so we stayed to snorkel with them. It was really magical. My husband and I are not strong swimmers, so we appreciated that he brought a floating device that we could hold on to. He pulled us along on it, to help us keep up with the group. We did a similar snorkel trip in Moorea and it was not as good as this one, in terms of the wildlife you saw and the attention to detail. My only regret is not having a gopro to capture all the amazing creatures we came across. All in all, highly recommend this tour if you want to see the best of bora bora!

Excellent guide and beautiful snorkeling spots
Thank you Simon and Ben for this absolutely amazing tour. I could tell that you both are passionate about nature and that it’s important for you to treat it with respect. We had the luck to have encountered Manta rays and sharks and swim in a most beautiful coral garden. Ben was leading the group in the water and gave valuable explanations on the route and sea life. As I was traveling by myself on the tour, I felt very safe. The boat was not crowded and all of us had enough space for the bags as well. Thank you for everything, I will keep this snorkeling trip forever in my mind and hopefully return soon!

A fantastic tour of the lagoon with a great guide
I stumbled across this tour when another one I had booked was cancelled last minute, but I am so glad I did – it was for sure one of the best experiences I had in French Polynesia. Simon is a lovely, funny guy, with a sincere passion for the lagoon and its inhabitants. We were very lucky to see lots of manta rays in two different spots, and then a huge group of spotted eagle rays on two other spots (they must have been 80 or so swimming together!). The firm rules of “no diving” to take pictures of the rays were strictly adhered to and for a very good reason: if one dives down, the animals are disturbed and swim away … Simon will make sure that you have fun without bothering the animals! Of course, touching them is also out of question ... Thanks again Simon for a fun, entertaining, truly enjoyable tour of the lagoon! I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bora Bora!

Went out on a rainy day to see 5-6 whales and even got to swim with two whales! Highly recommend this tour as Simon, the captain has such a enthusiasm finding the huge gentle animals that are literally size of buildings. He is extremely knowledgeable about the ocean life and you can begin to appreciate his compassion/respect for the whales. He is clear and direct in his instructions on how to approach the whales while in the water in order to one, ensure that you don’t alarm the whales and, two, to allow the entire group to be able to enjoy the entire experience.

Thanks James for your comment. What an afternoon we experienced, these 5 whales together in the middle of a love jousting, it took us time, patience and perseverance to get in the water with them but as I say to each one must observe and be ready but above all no precipitation, you have to wait for the right moment and seize it (with respect for the animal). The first time no one believed it when I said get yourself in the water when one of the whales came straight to the boat and passed a few meters then the rest of the group came back towards us and we managed to get them see pass under our flippers and above all observe these two males compete for the female in very clear water because we could make out the bottom at more than 40 meters. What makes me happy is to be able to allow you to live such moments and when your wife thanked me while crying that it was her dream at more than 70 years old; It's also for these moments that I love my job! I hope you have a good celebration arrived at the hotel. Simon

Whale watching with Simon and Rudolf was one of the most incredible experiences of our lives. This is one of the few places in the world where you have the opportunity to snorkel with wild whales in their natural habitat. If you are lucky enough to be in Bora Bora during whale watching season, book this immediately. Of the magical two weeks we spent in Bora Bora this was absolutely the most special experience. Even many of the locals we met told us they go whale watching when they can, and all of them recommended doing it with Simon.

We went whale watching on our last day - which I would not suggest because it was risky. It’s nature, you never know when you might see a whale, but if you do it earlier in the trip you would have the flexibility to book another trip and try again. But we were incredibly lucky. We were on a private tour and saw the FIRST whale of the season. We swam in the water and saw the whale below us and it was singing!! I cried it was so beautiful!!! Imagine seeing the huge beautiful creature below you and hearing the water filled with his song. It was like entering another world and nothing could have prepared me for the beauty and significance of that experience.

Simon and Rudolf went above and beyond in making the experience fun from the moment we stepped on the boat. I am terrified of swimming in deep open ocean water and for me this experience was really about facing my fears. Simon and Rudolf both took great care of me and let me hold onto their shoulders when I was scared. Being with people who know the water (and the whales) so well made me feel secure and allowed me to face my fear and focus on enjoying the experience. It was like jumping out of the airplane but being attached to a guide who knew when to pull the parachute.

We hope to come back to Bora Bora in years to come, and we will be sure to keep booking this tour again and again. I’m sure each trip will be different because it’s nature and it’s wild and you never know what you might discover. Mauruuru!!

Simon was an excellent guide and felt just as enthusiastic about finding whales as we were! He is truly passionate about what he does and made everyone feel very much at home. A plus was getting to swim with two whales!! We had an excellent time and were very happy to have chosen his operation. Absolutely the right guy and the right boat.

Thank you very much for your comment, I've been going to see whales for 17 years and after all these years I still love these moments with them, every season, day, excursion is different, that's what working with Nature, she can give us everything and sometimes she is less generous. Simon

We had a once in a lifetime experience on this trip once Covid restrictions were lifted and we would definitely recommend others make this part of their trip to Bora Bora. We did so many fun things on our honeymoon but whale watching was special and we will remember it for a very long time. We had a chance to see four whales on our trip and one even breached out of the water for us a couple of times! We saw their tales and fins “wave” to us and learned what to look for to try to find them as well. It was a really exciting day and we appreciated Simon taking the time to track the whales and then get in the water with us. We had a great time just being out in the water in the boat and getting a chance to see so much of the area and the sunset on the ride back to the island. I hope that when you are researching things to do on your trip to Bora Bora you make sure to add Simon’s whale watching tour because our trip would not have been the same if we did not!

That's the excursion to book! Captain Simon is immensely knowledgeable regarding whale behaviors and exercised great respect for the animal throughout the boat trip.

We booked it twice during our 5-night stay in Bora Bora! The first time we were able to swim with a female and the second time with a female and her calf. Incredible experience!

Captain Simon's advantage is to have a great and genuine relationship with local fishermen around the atoll. These guys are then very generous sharing their spottings and increasing your chances to see the whales and go (quietly - slide in the water, never jump!) in the water with them.

Can't wait to do it again!

This company is defiantly the one to go with. We saw 3-4 other boats with people out looking for whales, but we were the only ones on them each time.

When we jumped in the water to get closer it was extremely rough water, Mother Nature is in charge, we swam right over a mother and calf. I had my heavy underwater full Fram DSLR housing but for the first time ever I didn't have the strobes attached. Why this mattered is the strobe arms are the flotation to make the housing neutral. Therefore for with out them it was like swimming carrying a boat anchor in rough seas. I got exhausted and Simon let me hang onto the rescue ring he towed.

We booked a half day tour but we ended up staying much longer to se whale after whale. The crew was incredibly dedicated to provide a good experience

Thank you for your comment Cvixie unfortunately when there is wind the ocean is not calm and often this is combined with the main swell which makes the ocean rough or even very rough, but that does not prevent you from going in the water even with uncomfortable people, when the conditions are not good (too windy) I prefer to cancel and postpone the excursion in order to give the maximum chance to customers to be able to observe the whales and 'they feel safe. But we must not forget that the weather here is very changeable and that it is very hard to have a reliable forecast which is why I suggest to come with medication against seasickness and for people who do not. would not be comfortable in the water to specify it so I can advise them at best. Booked the whale tour and had a fun day even though we didn't see any whales. Once we had made it out to the ocean the weather conditions deteriorated with heavy rain and wind over a couple of hours and our visibility was reduced. Simon did do his best to spot the whales but it just wasn't in the cards. This was something I knew could happen and Simon also warned us about. We had heard from a couple that had booked a fishing charter the same day that they had spotted the whales but also didn't catch any fish, so I think it was just an unlucky day all around. Simon and his staff were very polite and made sure we were comfortable during the time we were on the tour. We did get to photograph spinner dolphins several times on the tour which was great and he also stopped us off to snorkel with the Eagle Rays. I would definitely re-book this tour again with them and hopefully have better luck next time! Also wanted to mention Simon and guests were distanced on the boat and wore a face mask the entire time of the tour and had hand sanitizer once we boarded which helped adhere to the new policies around COVID-19

Thank you very much Kent for your comment, indeed we could not find the whale that we had seen for several days in this area of Bora because the weather has changed and the weather has become really bad for a few hours preventing us from seeing whatever it was, we had to turn back it was so bad. I almost canceled in the afternoon but luckily the weather changed completely and we decided with the clients to still take the excursion and really it was not at all the same as at the end of the morning; the ocean was calm, no wind and no sun which allowed us to find this whale that we had gone to look for and it was indeed in the same area. I'm sorry for you and the family who were on board, but we can't control the elements or the whales. But we were able to observe the dolphins which is always a beautiful sight. Given the current situation with the virus, we make it a point of honor to ensure that our guests are as safe as possible and to avoid any contamination as much as possible by taking maximum precautions. Thank you again Simon

We booked the whale watching tour, however was unable to go due to weather conditions. Simon was extremely kind and kept an eye on the forecast for us. He immediately notified us via email when he realized that weather might not be favorable and the chances of seeing a whale are slim. We are greatly appreciative of the honesty, because many tour providers wouldn't have done the same. Very impressed with the service and will definitely try to book with Simon again when the weather is better.

Thank you very much for your comment, I prefer to be honest with my clients and not to do the excursions if I see that the conditions outside are not going to be suitable for whale watching even though there may be whales in the area where it is 'Is calm. After if it is possible to make the excursion but I know that the conditions will not be the best but that it is feasible I warn and leave the choice to the customers but it is important not that they ask me for a refund partial or total because they decided to do the excursion anyway despite my recommendations that's what happened to me the day or the next day you should have come. Hope you have the opportunity to come back and the weather will be better. Simon

The tour guide and boat captain used all their local connections - mostly fishermen - as well as an underwater microphone to try and locate a whale for us, but none could be found.

The tour boat was very nice and comfortable, even cutting through lots of wave chop. The boat captain ventured a good distance and used a lot of fuel looking in many directions. But in the end, there were still 9 disappointed guests who didn’t get to see whales.

Incredible opportunity to swim with a humpback whale today for my mom and me. We were very fortunate to be able to do that as it is not with every trip. Simon was incredibly knowledgeable about how to be safe with the whales as well as obtain a great experience due to finding them in the wild, having them chose to swim with us and lastly, be able to be see them from the boat. Today was a day where all three occurred and it was an experience of a lifetime for us. Recommend this experience to strong swimmers as you may have to swim quite a bit over 100 yards/meters. Thank you to Simon and his crew. What an extraordinary day!

Thank you Erin for your comment, We always have to count on luck when we go out looking for whales, the experience of our team increases the chances but sometimes if it doesn't work it's the whales who decide to show themselves or not but for you all the conditions were met. Of course you have to know how to swim a minimum because the boat must be at least 100 meters 300 feet from the whales so you have to know at least this distance and sometimes more if I see that you have to go further away to disturb them as little as possible and have the chance to be able to observe them in the water. For those who are not comfortable we have life jackets and there is always a guide in the water with you to help people with a weaker level of swimming but you always have to believe in yourself and not give in. put up barriers; for those who do not want to go in the water it is possible to stay on board and observe them quietly.
