- 890rachaelg00Manta rays, stingrays, sharks and dolphinsWe took a private 3 hour snorkel cruise and I can safely say it was the most memorable thing we did in Bora Bora. We were picked up at our dock at the St.Regis at 9am. Our guide was very knowledgable, and we learned a lot about the marine life, islands and historical aspects. We first went and saw manta rays, which was a great experience. We then made our way to see the stingrays and sharks. On our way there, our guide cut the engine of the boat and drew our attention to many pods of dolphins, some of which started to jump out of the water. We were very lucky to see dolphins, as we have since been told this is very rare. It is great to get in the water amongst the sharks and stingrays. Our guide briefed us on how to behave around the sharks and rays. I appreciated this part as it indicates that the company cares about the welfare of the marine life and don't want them being harassed. I would highly recommend this trip to everyone. Having your own speed boat means that you can get across to various sites quickly and can fit a lot into the 3 hour time period.
- sbaybe00Fun with the Sharks and stingraysVery fun swimming with the sharks. Our guide was very friendly and helpful! Highly recommend this tour! The stingrays were friendly! Our driver was timely and friendly as well! Picked us up and dropped us off from our Airbnb.
- MatthewC71300Casting Shadows of Disappointment: Moana Tours' Unfulfilling Fishing Experience in Bora BoraI recently booked the 4-hour Private Lagoon fishing experience with Moana Tours in Bora Bora, having had great experiences with them on two previous occasions. However, this time around, the trip turned out to be a major disappointment and fell far short of my expectations. To begin with, our tour guide arrived approximately 10 minutes late, which immediately set a negative tone for the experience. We started with what was referred to as "fly" fishing, although it was quite different from the fly fishing I have experienced in other locations. Instead, we found ourselves fishing in shallower waters with top-water lures for a mere 10 minutes before transitioning to trolling. During our brief trolling session, we had an exciting moment when we managed to hook a shark. However, our excitement quickly turned into disappointment as the line broke, and we were unable to land the shark. We then switched to jigging, hoping for better results. Unfortunately, the experience turned into continuous frustration as we kept snagging on what seemed to be coral rather than actually catching fish. Despite the guide's persistent claims that we were indeed hooked up to fish, I began to doubt the validity of the catches. Our doubts were reinforced by the consistent line breaks and hooks breaking free. It became increasingly apparent that if there were actually fish biting, the equipment provided was inadequate, leaving us ill-equipped to handle such encounters. This pattern of unsuccessful fishing continued for the majority of the tour, lasting approximately three hours. We were left with a sense of disappointment and dissatisfaction, as our primary goal of catching a fish remained unfulfilled. With only 15 minutes remaining, I expressed my desire to try another spot in hopes of landing a fish. The guide took us to an area where we observed a significant number of fish, but unfortunately, we had barely any time to fish before being called back. Throughout the entire trip, we never managed to catch a fish, contrary to the claims made on the Moana Tours website. The promised opportunity to catch popular lagoon fish such as jackfish, rainbow fish, small barracudas, and lagoon bonito seemed elusive as if we were inadvertently targeting 100-pound plus fish that kept breaking the lines and hooks the entire time. We returned empty-handed, except for a single small grouper caught by the guide. Our butler expressed surprise at the lack of our catch, further emphasizing the underwhelming nature of the experience. We did see a large group of dolphins while fishing which was definitely the highlight of the trip. Given my previous positive encounters with Moana Tours, this fishing trip was a significant letdown. The late arrival, misrepresentation of fishing techniques, inadequate equipment, lack of successful catches, and limited fishing time all contributed to a highly dissatisfying experience. I strongly advise others to explore alternative fishing tour options in Bora Bora to avoid similar disappointment.
- Tremaine G00Amazing experience! This was probably the most exciting thing I did in Bora Bora besides being on a overwater bungalow. The staff was great and they even accommodated my time since I was a little late due to my flight arrival time. Most things you can do in Bora Bora. You could get the full experience all in one with this fantastic excursion. I’d definitely recommend.
- joshua56700Wonderful way to explore the waters of Bora BoraMy wife and I has a great time on this snorkel tour of the Bora Bora lagoons. It was our first time here and Nicholson did a great job. Would highly recommend.
- flanneryc202300A must-do during your Bora Bora trip!Highly recommend this tour!!! It was such a fun day out on the water swimming with sharks and sting rays (I was scared initially but the guides made me feel so safe and I was able to relax and have fun) and also jet skiing around the island. Jean and Malarkey (spelling?) were our guides for the snorkeling and they were both awesome - also made everyone laugh the entire time with their hilarious jokes! Ali was our guide for the jet skiing, we loved her! She was so friendly and gave us the best tour!
- Whitley S00Honeymoon in Bora BoraWe visited Bora Bora for our Honeymoon and chose to do the Romantic Island Tour with Jean and two other couples! We had a blast! Jean was so awesome, informative, funny, and a great ukulele player! We couldn’t have asked for a better boat driver/tour guide! We snorkeled and saw the entire island by boat and then we had an amazing lunch on the beach prepared by Jean’s cousin. The food was amazing! Thank you Jean for making our first excursion in Bora Bora AMAZING! We also did the Jetski your with Jeff on another day and he was equally as awesome! We toured the entire island on Jetskis, stopping every now and then for Jeff to explain something to us. We also stopped on the private island and Jeff showed us how to crack a coconut! Totally awesome! Overall, I don’t feel like you can go wrong with any excursion with this company! They are very informative about the islands culture all while making your tour fun!
- BetsyCarrion00ExcelneceHello, Our tour wasn’t private but with a group of other couples. I have to say that our tour guide was great. She seem very full of energy, happy and super friendly. She loves her job!!! I don’t recall her name, too bad. She was very knowledgeable provided us with great information about the areas we visited. We had such a great time during the tour. Did not rush us at all, and gave us quite some time to swim with the sharks and stingrays. This tour is a must for sure!! You must visit the Garden Coral as well… ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- 462dinag00The most perfect afternoon! We had THE most perfect afternoon w Maui (how perfect if that is his real name and the company is Moana Adventures!). :). He knew all the perfect spots to take us to, first on the reef to swim w manta rays and reef sharks (I somehow overcame my fear of sharks quickly!), then to the most magical corral gardens. We ventured around the island at leisure after that to round out a perfect day. Maui even helped us spot a very elusive (and thankfully sleeping!) nurse shark for some perfect photo oops. He was attentive the entire time, providing drinks, music and photographer skills all afternoon! Would highly recommend this company, and ask for Maui!
- nikilex00Fantastic experienceTarepa was a fantastic Captain, he found all the right places, efficient and safe, good heart. Thanks for the great tour!
- jesssV6598HU00BEST EXPERIENCE EVER - you will not be disappointed.BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!! 🎉🔥 I booked the Ultimate romantic Tour in Bora Bora with my husband. Glenn was our Captain for the day and he made our experience incredible. We were greeted with 90s/naughties classic music (perfect way to start to celebrate turning 30). You can sit at the front of the boat enjoying the sunshine and the breathtaking views. We experienced swimming with sharks, sting rays, Manta Rays (which was the nost breathtaking experience) and snorkeling among different coral reefs. We managed to get amazing go pro footage. Glenn came with us for all the experiences and was very educatuonal, teaching us about the different sea life and spots around French polynesia. We had a private lunch, which wad the best food we had when we stayed. We had the Polynesian raw tuna (get ready for the most fresh fish), barbeque meat and fresh salad and fruit. Glenn made all from scratch and even gave us fresh coconut to try. Glenn even sang to us, which again just topped our experience. It was worth every penny and will be a memory my husband and I will treasure. BIG SHOUT OUT TO GLENN!! An amazing man who just made our trip!
- Savvytraveler101500Full Bora Bora Experience! This is a great tour to go around the entire island of Bora Bora by jet ski. It was fun, but keep in mind its a bit fast, so the person on the back (me) has to hold on. I was a little sore the next day. They took us to lunch at Bloody Mary's, which was a good spot. The snorkeling portion was fantastic! Saw a lot of black tip sharks and sting rays. Even got to see some eagle rays. The guides were all very helpful and friendly.
- blaketbennett00Exactly what we were hoping forDid this trip as part of our honeymoon on Bora Bora and it delivered on its expectation. Saw a lot of great fish, including an unexpected baby octopus, and swimming with sharks and stingrays felt unreal in the best possible way. Overall felt very safe, thought well through, and the boat was in great condition. It's hard to do a bad ocean trip in Bora Bora, but this one definitely felt worth the time and money.
- Wayne B00Day excursionAli, Maui and Jeff were fantastic guides! We had a great day- best of our trip. Such a fun excursion- learned a lot about island & culture! This is a must- do for anyone!
- Cbardwell300Book it!Our favorite excursion by far!!! Richard did a fantastic job and made the day perfect! We saw stingrays, sharks and an eagle ray!

This tour around the island was huge fun. We also appreciated the stop on the private island where our friendly guide Jeff told us more about the local culture and the mango and coconut snacks there were tasty.

We are dirt bike nuts but new to jet skis. Totally spoiled. We got the thrills of a 70+kph ride on glassy smooth lagoon water, plus knockout views every second. Easy 5*!

From reading the reviews we should have requested Ali....
We had 2 guides and not once did they ask the pace we would like to go or check to make sure everyone was comfortable.
This wasn't a "tour" it was everyone trying to keep up with the guides on the jet skis. No info was given to make it a "tour", it was merely a race. We were going 70kmh, constantly turning an zig zagging, it felt pretty unsafe. Maybe if you were an adrenaline junkie this would be for you??? But with all the turning and the high speed there was no time to soak in the surroundings.
Pick up was very unorganized, they only had us down for 2 even though we booked for 4. Also after the activity we had to wait around a bit and watch the staff figure out who was going to shuttle us back.
Don't wear any valuables as one couple flipped over and loss their sunglasses and hat.
No coconut demonstration was given, we stopped at an island, the guides said "30min we're here" and put a bowl of coconut on a table. That's it.

My wife and I had a lovely tour guide, Ali. She was informative and made safety her top priority when touring us around Bora Bora. We had a great time riding together on a single jet ski and had 3 opportunities to switch drivers. We both had a lot of fun driving the jet ski. Ali helped us go at a comfortable pace for ourselves whether we wanted to slowly cruise or zip quickly through the lagoon. Ali also demonstrated how to husk a coconut and we got to do it ourselves as well! Also go to see many crabs on one of our stopover islands. We had more fun than we thought we would. We highly recommend the excursion to anyone willing to tour the sights on a hey ski!

We loved cruising around the island with Matahi! He was friendly and easy to talk to. Pick up and drop off from our hotel was smooth. There was a little rain at first but it cleared up quickly. So fun to see the island from this perspective and also relax in blue lagoon waters with yummy coconut snack. Such a dream! Would definitely recommend.

When our cruise visited Bora-Bora there was the opportunity to do a jet ski trip around the island. This gave us a great perspective of the island and had a chance to see the beautiful terrain from all sides. Our guide, Matahi, was very knowledgeable and we felt safe on the tour while having a lot of fun. We would recommend asking for him. The jet skis we were on were in very good shape and easy to operate. We did not have a lot of experience with jet skis, so the short operation and safety course at the beginning was much appreciated. It was well worth the cost and the three hours the tour took.
A couple of tips, if you are not used to the Polynesian sun make sure to either use good sunblock or wear a hat and shirt because when you are on the Jet ski you don’t feel the heat of the sun. A person we were on the tour with did get a pretty good burn. Also, bring sunglasses as it’s not only helpful with the sun, but also with the water splashing from the Jet ski.

Is booked on Trip Advisor with Reserve Now, Pay Later a safe way to guarantee booking with the company? I have looked at their website and not understanding the payment with Euros. Will be on Wind Spirit in June 2023 and this trip is about half the cost of the one from the ship. Does the 2 hour trip include travel time from dock to jet skis or is it 2 hours on the jet skis with island stop?

No..the tour company will have a boat to pick you up in the hotel and they will bring you to the dock where the jet ski are located.
