- Priyanka S0 contributionsAmazing experienceIt was the best decision to take up this tour with them . Very experienced crew and very thorough planning for the flight keeping weather in mind and everyone’s safety . The pilot made sure we get the best views and pictures .Written September 26, 2024
- angielG5787WQ0 contributionsAmazing experienceAbsolutely beautiful views. Was originally to do a glacier landing but weather was not permitting. Our pilot, Josh, was awesome…. And looked a bit like Tom Cruise:)Written September 4, 2024
- merny890 contributionsA wow trip to the glaciers. We booked this flight as soon as we arrived in Talkeetna as our excursions on the ship were cancelled. What a wonderful surprise. Riley was our pilot and we landed on the glacier and took photos for at least 20 minutes. The flight and landing were amazing and surreal ! If you get a chance to go you should do it!Written September 2, 2024
- d0rable10 contributionsFantastic Flightseeing TourK2 Aviation provided several different tours to choose from, however, depending on weather conditions, will depend on whether or not that tour can fly. I had booked a tour with a glacier landing that had to be changed to a lower-level flying tour and the glacier landing was not possible because of weather. With that being said, the experience still was phenomenal! The entire staff at K-2 Aviation was professional, personable and helpful. Our pilot, Dorothy, was informative and friendly with superb flying skills. She would make sure passengers on both sides of the plane had fantastic views. She encouraged questions and answered all questions asked. I plan to come back to fly with K2 Aviation again, and hope the weather is cooperative for a glacier landing next time.Written September 1, 2024
- roxannee2430 contributionsawesome experience with K2 AviationUnbelievable experience from Talkeetna flying to Denali summit and landing on glacier. Our 9 passenger plane piloted by Phil was on the glacier alone for about 20 minutes experiencing the silence and magnitude of this once in a lifetime experience.Written August 12, 2024

- vickiec2440 contributionsFlight of a lifetimeWow! There aren’t words for the views you get of Denali on this flight We were blessed to have a perfectly clear day so we had unbelievable views. Well worth your time and money. Pilot was friendly, knowledgeable and concerned with the safety of the plane. We actually had to wait about 30 minutes to leave while he had maintenance checking a part on the plane. I appreciate all safety precautions . Definitely recommend!Written July 19, 2024
- Fearless588589908020 contributionsGreat flight to DenaliA very professional and friendly operation close to town. Phoned us back (to South Africa) to discuss our concerns with our bookings. Big, well appointed terminal which was well staffed to handle the people arriving for flights. Collect at accommodation was on time and friendly and stored our luggage even after the flight and took us to train depot for our late afternoon train journey. Weather didn't allow the over Denali flight so only flew lower altitude but was still very good. Pilot's (Doug) explanations were really good and informative despite cloud. Refund details available on landing for lower level flight. Flight spectacular - as good as it gets!Written July 13, 2024
- Vorgomona0 contributionsBreathtaking spectacular overview of the Denali mountain range from TalkeetnaThe K2 aviation experience was amazing. The flight was smooth, flying close to all the beautiful mountain scenery on an absolutely clear day. Our pilot was so informative, friendly and full of information about the area, the mountain climbing and the glacier landings as well as the scenery. We could have imagined a better experience and highly recommended to everyone.Written July 12, 2024
- MarciaG19040 contributionsDenali flightseeingOne of the top experiences we had while in Alaska. Wow, to see this amazing mountain and the glaciers from the air is breath taking. You just cannot experience the scale the beauty same way from the ground. Would highly recommend over any land tour. Our K2 pilot did a great job. It was a little cloudy the day we flew, but he was able to get us up to a clear area and it was beautiful. Flew so that we all had great views and pointed out the major and interesting features. We did not do a glacier landing, but if you're really interested in that they offer those flights. I'm happy we choose just the flightseeing; feel we had more time in the air and were able to see more of this amazing area.Written July 10, 2024

- colcaf20170 contributionsSuper stokedAmazing unforgettable experience. Glacial landing is incredible and pilot is super capable and reliable. Would do this a million times. K2 has a long line checking in but were very helpful and rescheduled my flight for weather reasons a couple times. It does have a relatively small parking lot for RV so be mindful for parking thereWritten July 3, 2024
- 388nikkic0 contributionsGlacier landingThis was by far our most amazing activity in Alaska for our family. Our pilot was very friendly and experienced and narrated our whole trip. We landed on a glacier and he took family pictures for us. This is an expensive activity but is so worth every dime we paid. Our check in was very easy and all flowed well.Written June 29, 2024
- danigraham0 contributionsAmazing Flight with Glacier LandingThis was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and was so amazing. It was a great way to see Alaska and the glaciers of Denali from the air. We took the flight that included the glacier landing and I could not recommend this trip any higher. It was an awesome experience. My husband and I took my parents who are in their 70s and our two children ages 11 and 8. The kids loved throwing snowballs made of glacier snow and ice! Our pilot, Doug, was great. He was super informative, funny, and super professional. If you're thinking of doing a flight, just do it. It is worth every penny!Written June 29, 2024

Denali is on the short-list of everybody's travel plans in Alaska. We decided to take this plane tour with glacier landing and although it was pricey, it was well worth it. You get to fly to the tallest mountain in North America and land on a glacier. Not many chances to experience something like that. The flight takes a total of 1.5-2 hours and is narrated by the pilot. You fly from Talkeetna into the mountain range. We had clear views of Denali as we approached the glacier. After we landed, we were able to get off the plane and walk around for 15 minutes in this truly magical place on top of a glacier. The flight to and from Denali was mostly smooth and our pilot did a great job avoiding the clouds and turbulence. This is an experience we will cherish forever. Thanks K2!!

What an incredible experience - it is hard to put into words how it feels to be flying among the mountains of the park - we had incredible weather and saw Denali, mountains, glaciers, lakes, rivers, rainbows....the list goes on.
Chad was a great pilot. He worked hard throughout the trip to take us to some really special places, constantly checking in about changes in weather so he could take us cooler and cooler places. The time went by so fast after looking at one amazing view after the next. His excitement about flying and being on the trip was contagious! We felt very confident and safe in his plane as well - he was a very attentive and skilled pilot.
We also felt very safe and comfortable with the covid precautions K2 took all the way from the office building to the plane.
We will definitely be back and I will send all my friends and family from in and out of state K2’s way!

We originally booked the Denali Grand Tour with glacier landing but the weather was not cooperating. We rescheduled for a few days later on our way back through the area. Unfortunately, weather came in and it was too dangerous to fly beyond some of the glaciers. We never saw Denali the whole trip but that was just bad luck with the weather. August is the rainy season. K2 was very accommodating and made it possible for us to enjoy the Experience flight which our party of four loved. The glaciers are amazing! We got fantastic photos and my husband got to be the co-pilot. All of the staff at K2 were so nice and easy to talk to. The pilot, Lou, was experienced and very knowledgeable. He shared a lot of information during the flight. The front desk issued a refund very quickly and they even shipped my sunglasses to me which I had left in the back pocket of the seat in front of me (for the price of postage. If we are ever in the area again, we will fly with K2. P.S. we flew with K2 8 years ago and had the glacier landing and saw Denali!

Fly towards Denali and landing on the glacier. Excellent trip, weather was perfect, Chris the pilot was a professional at all times and had detail knowledge of being a tour guide and still have the professional skills to maintain discipline needed as a professional pilot to get around the unforgiving terrain of Denali. The flight was supper safe, o couldn’t even tell when we landed on the glacier, it was that smooth.

Absolutely one of the top highlights of my recent trip to Alaska. We had signed up for the glacier landing and at check in were told that it was going to be too foggy to land. While we were disappointed and were given the option to reschedule, we didn’t have the schedule flexibility so we agreed to fly without the landing, which we were still very excited about. Once up in the air, our terrific pilot, Chris, had been eying the potential glacier landing field and decided that the conditions were much better than earlier and fog had cleared enough for a safe landing under the premise that we would need to be ready to leave should he sense the conditions changing once on the ground. Standing on the glacier in complete silence listening to rocks falling, glacial water rushing, was one of the most surreal experiences ever. Would 100% recommend this trip and the landing is absolutely worth it. Honorable mention to the way that the bright red plane pops on the white snow in all of our amazing pictures. Thanks, Chris and K2 aviation for the unforgettable experience!
Also, for anyone traveling in the current pandemic climate, K2’s COVID procedures felt very safe and clean and I feel they are doing a great job putting safety first.

Thank you for the awesome review. I especially love the details of outlining our safety first culture. It is the foundation of everything we do from COVID-19 protocols to assessing glacier conditions and weather. Chris is a wonderful pilot. I'm so glad the fog lifted and the weather allowed for a glacier landing. The personal connection to Alaska and Denali that visitors experience when flying through the majestic mountain passes and spending that quiet time on the glacier really is special. You described it so beautifully. We really appreciate you choosing K2. I'll be sharing your kind words with our team.

On two other trips to Alaska I have booked with K2 and had the flights cancelled due to weather. Please note that this was no problem for me. They are not going to fly if it is unsafe or they cannot provide you the experience you are paying for. The money was promptly refunded.
On this trip we arrived in Talkeetna without a tour reservation. As we drove in, I heard the planes taking off from the local airport. I immediately rounded up the family and headed over to see if we could get on a flight. It was no problem and 45 minutes later we were boarding a late afternoon tour.
I believe we were on the Denali Flyer. My sense is the routes are a generalization of length and the areas they will try to show you. I felt like the pilot adjusted the flight based on where things were clear and we could get the best views/experience for the time we had in the air. It is unsafe and pointless to follow a route that is cloud-covered. It was a great tour and I thought the pilot did an excellent job of allowing both sides of the plane to see the different sites. He was informative about the area and things we were seeing. This was the first activity we did in Alaska and set a great tone for the rest of the trip. The family absolutely loved it. We did not have the choice of a glacier landing due to the uncertain weather, so I cannot comment on whether that is a worthwhile addition. I can say that, although expensive, you are not getting the most out of your Alaska trip without some flight seeing. There is just too much of Alaska that is inaccessible from the ground. You need to get into the air to truly get the full experience. Highly recommend K2...take any trip you can afford. If you have the option, I would take a cheaper trip and save money for a second trip of another kind...there is so much to see in this state.

This was the most amazing experience we have ever had. Leaving the earth in a beautiful, classic bush plane from the 1950’s. Our pilot, Maury, was clearly in love with the plane and his job. He could not have done a better job of safety orientation, or educating us about what we were getting ready to experience. He was also very good about preparing us for the possibility of turbulence, although we had almost none. There are no words to describe this flight - it was surreal. With headphones, it was amazingly quiet. We saw no other planes while in the sky. Maury did a great job of narration, but also gave us quiet time to just experience this remarkable adventure. We strongly recommend this magical trip to you.

This experience was unreal. And it was 100% worth the money. We had been hearing about doing some sort of helicopter or flight of some around the mountain when we saw the weather was going to be as good as it is we booked it! We were really hoping to get the land on a glacier experience but it was sold out. You arrive a little before and check it and they weight you and then the pilots map it out. You then wait for your name to be called and head out with your pilot. The view we had were stunning and unlike anything I have ever seen. Tom our pilot was great at pointing things out and making sure both sides of the plane got the same views. The trip was around 1 hour and maybe 20 mins. And they provided headsets so you could all talk. I cannot recommend this enough and also recommend watching the weather if possible to find the best time to make sure the weather is in your favor. We only had tshirts on but the pilot could turn the heat or the air on

We originally signed up for the Denali Summit tour with the glacier landing. However, when we arrived they said the weather and visibility was too poor to go to higher elevations. Instead, they asked if we wanted to switch to the Denali Experience or reschedule. We went ahead and chose the Denali Experience for that day. Our pilot was very knowledgable about the area we were flying over. He gave clear instructions about the safety of the tour (both airplane related and COVID). He mentioned how we had a unique experience that showed us more of the lower mountains that you don't normally see. He did a great job accommodating the changes and still provided a wonderful tour.

I had a flightseeing tour with glacier landing with K2 Aviation and it was AMAZING. That was the highlight of my Alaska trip. Seeing the mountains so close as if you could touch them and landing on the glacier was once in a lifetime experience—and the K2 Aviation delivers.
Patrick, our tour pilot, was very good. He was calm taking away any of my fear of flying in a small plane. It’s obvious that he is an experienced pilot, told us what to expect on the flight, will tell us in advance if he will make some turns and the time to
land. He also shared his knowledge about the area and Alaska mountain ranges. Thank you, Patrick, for a safe, smooth and once in a lifetime amazing tour.
The staff of K2 were courteous. I had my original scheduled tour cancelled due to weather, given a choice to be fully refunded or move to another day which I did and it turned out to be gloriously sunny the next day when the elusive Denali showing its glory.
The plane is clean and safety is well practiced. Their color red planes look so beautiful against the snow covered mountains and glacier on the pictures. Also, if you don’t have snow boots—they will provide any sizes that you can put over your footwear. Their facilities are clean too. I think their restrooms were the cleanest among all the public restrooms I used during my trip in Alaska.
The money I spent with this tour is all worth it. It’s a tour of a lifetime. I highly recommend K2 Aviation.

What is your price for one 15 year old if accompanied by an adult?

It seems far away from Denali park entrance are where we are staying. Has anyone made the drive to/from in a same day? Our trip is early September.
Written July 30, 2022
It’s about 2-2.5 hours from the National park. Plan 3 or so hours for the flight tour (with check in and such) so technically a doable day trip just know you’d be in the car a lot.

We are doing the princess land and air. Will be at the wilderness lodge and the mt McKinley lodge and then board the cruise ship, are you close to any of these so we can do this?

What time are the flights? We are driving from Wasilla and can be there pretty much any time after 1000

It's best to check with the company directly. We took an afternoon flight as we were traveling from Denali Park. Think there was one before or at noon and one later, but it may vary by season as the summer days are so long.

can the plane hold 6 passengers in addition to the pilot
Written January 16, 2022
The K2 plane easily holds 6 plus the pilot. Actually, I believe it held 10 or 11 passengers and was a very pleasant, must do flight if you go to Talkeetkna. They have their own private terminal but you must book early to get the flight you want. You will land on a glacier and throw snow balls, make a snow man & enjoy tremendous scenery.
Written January 18, 2022
What does the glacier landing entail? Do passengers exit the airplane on landing?
Written July 29, 2021
It was a great experience. Land on the glacier and you get to get out for 20-30 minutes and enjoy the scenery before taking off again--highly recommend! Traveled with my wife and our 10 year old son and they were raving about it!
Written July 30, 2021
My family is very interested in this trip. 3 are definitely going and 1 is unsure of his travel plans yet to get to Alaska. It looks like the cancellation policy is 24 hours in advance. If we book for 4 and he find out he can’t make it to Alaska, can we cancel 1 passenger and get a full refund for him? We would definitely know at least a few days before the flight.

My husband is a big man, 6'2" weighing about 350. Is there a weight limit for the flightseeing tour?
Written February 20, 2020
My husband is 6 ft and 315 and we sat in the middle seat. Three other passengers in the plane. They do weigh you but I don’t think there is a weight limit.

My husband and I are with the Holland America Westerdam cruise which includes 3 days in Denali. Is it easy enough to get to Talkeetna for the flight?
Written July 30, 2019
I would ask the tour company to help you arrange travel. As mentioned, your trip time might get moved, and Denali is a big place. Helps if you are in one spot for a bit
