      Book the Peony for yourself
I had such an incredible stay on the Peony. The views from my corner room were surreal. The staff are exceptional. Bright (Tu) was amazing. He learned English in just a few months and was able to give me information about the squid fishing at night. Highly recommend!

Relaxing cruise without a huge number of people.
Amazing views, beautiful cabins and a great staff. There's not a huge number of people so it wasn't very crowded. Great experience if you're looking for a relaxing experience with a few of your friends and family.

Ha Long Bay - magical cruise
This was the most magical cruise. We did 3 days and 2 nights. The boat was immaculate, the cabins were beautiful, the scenary out of this world and the staff were excellent. Andrew was our waiter and he was kind and thoughtful and really went the extra mile for us. He had a great sense of humour, such a sweetie. The food was outstanding and the cruise was organised and relaxed. At the end when we were waiting for our bus back to Hanoi Ken stayed with us to make sure we were sorted. He didn't need to but he did and we were very greatful for his help. Once again going the extra mile. I highly recommend Peony cruises. Thank you for a wonderful cruise.

The Best Experience on Peony Cruise!
The Best Experience! If you’re visiting Vietnam with family, friends or even solo, Peony Cruise is an experience you shouldn’t miss. Extremely well-organised, friendly and helpful staff and an activity-filled 24hours. If you’re a foodie, this is a wonderful opportunity to widen your palette: they provide lunch, dinner, breakfast and brunch with a wide range of seafood and Vietnamese food adapted for a continental taste palette. Kayaking, swimming in the ocean and visiting the Trung Trung Cave are the activities that we had the pleasure of engaging in. However, the cruise also offers a cooking session in the evening and a Tai Chi class early in the morning. As you float through the Halong Bay, you get to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the blue-green ocean and the grand mountains surrounding it. The top deck offers a breathtaking view and has a pool where you can opt to relax if you prefer that to the ocean. The cherry on top is the crew that is extremely hospitable, helpful and friendly especially Mr. Ken, who was the tour guide for our trip to the cave and with whom we had the pleasure of having a conversation about Vietnamese culture and tradition. So if you’re looking for a cruise experience in Halong Bay (and you 100% should), I would most definitely recommend the Peony Cruise.

The Peony Cruise was an amazing experience and a must do for anyone thinking of coming to Ha Long Bay. The staff were incredible accommodating and especially Jason, who was our server the whole time. He and the team were attentive, made our anniversary special, and incredibly kind. Thank you!

Great cruise with Bobby and the crew
We had a great time on Peony Cruise - we did the 2 night, 3 days cruise and we were so glad we had more than one night to enjoy. Bobby looked after us for the whole trip and the service was excellent with a very special anniversary surprise for us. The food and drinks were good, we really enjoyed the day trip to Ca Bat island with a cycle and kayaking in beautiful coves - this is only on the longer trip. Transfer pick up was very comfortable, air-conditioning was great and we had a wonderful balcony view. We were worried that the water would be really dirty and polluted and while at times it was not great, it was a lot better than I expected and mostly fine. Travelling to Ha Long Bay in May felt like a good time with the weather and not too crowded with tourists although at times you look around and realise there are so many boats in the vicinity. I will be recommending this to friends and family. People were so nice and the scenery is unforgettable.

      Once in a lifetime experience!
The Ha Long Bay scenery should be on everyone's bucket list. The Peony boat was clean and beautiful. Some broken things need maintenance, but overall lovely. Staff is friendly tho language skills are a bit lacking. Food is great, but at least non alcohol drinks should be included. You can get free boiled water at meals, but everything else is extra. Advice Bring water or other drinks. The cruise only provides 2 tiny bottles of water per 2 person cabin for a 2 day cruise. They use dehydration to upsell drinks and the bar is overpriced. Bring snacks. The lunch hours are irrational. Day one 2pm. We had to wake up at 6am and we're starving by 2. Day two, lunch was at 9:30. We couldn't eat anything because we just had breakfast an hour ago. Then the transport back to Hanoi takes hours and you might get hungry without lunch. Please show up in time for dinner. The staff waited until everyone was seated before starting to serve dinner and one guest couple was an hour late. Entire hall went hungry waiting for just two people. Inspect your cabin after check-in. We booked a double bed but got twin beds pushed together instead. Impossible to sleep together over the hard middle parting. We weren't able to check our room because a horrid room scent gave me an asthma attack (I had asked for no perfumes in the room). Book a second floor cabin. First floor has no privacy because hawkers in boats will invade your balcony and can peep into your rooms. I was surprised naked in the bathroom by one of these perv boats. You essentially have to keep your curtains drawn and can't enjoy the view. Careful in the corridors. The tiles are slippery with soap and puddles. Slipped and injured my knee. Double check that the hotel pickup includes your hotel. We stayed on west side of Hanoi and had to first take a cab to Old Quarter to get on the tour bus. Limit expectations: Swimming in the sea is not actually allowed. You have to wear a life jacket and just tread water. I understand that vests are mandatory, but the orange lifejackets used for kayaking and “swimming” were so huge it's shoulders covered my head entirely. It's a sweaty and claustrophobic experience, and I was strangled trying to push my head through the chest to see. Most similar cruises in Hong Kong allow swimming in the sea, so this was a disappointment. The pool area is sad. The small jacuzzi has two nozzles working. There is no lifeguard to enforce rules and kids left alone were jumping into the jacuzzi. That is dangerous and made it impossible for adults to use the pool. The larger pool has a sign “Deep end 1.1m” but is actually 10-30cm deep - too shallow even for a kids pool. It's just for show. So essentially the Peony Cruise had no swimming or pool available. The cabin has a nice bathtub, so we filled it and were soaking in it enjoying the view when little boats showed up peeping into the rooms. I don't know why the staff doesn't shoo away the peeping toms. The water has a lot of floating rubbish. First I was angry at how tourists could spoil such natural wonder. Then the garage barge docked next to our balcony and we watched the ladies sort out the rubbish, dropping bottles, wrappers and even a big styrofoam cooler into the water. This beautiful place should be better protected and cared for. Noise pollution is horrible. Each cruise ship (I counted 19 in the bay we anchored in for the night) is blasting different music over the water. The cacophony is nasty. If you want peace, I recommend waking up at 4am. We watched the thunderstorm turn into a sunrise, and islands emerge from the inky haze, on the upper deck luxuriously alone. Being able to enjoy the serenity of nature was a moment that made the cruise worthwhile. It was beautiful. The staff was very attentive and cruise manager Tom asked for honest feedback in the end showing will to improve. The bright spot of the tour was receptionist Bright (Tu) who was very friendly and adorable.
