        Great cruise excursion!
This was an excellent excursion for our cruise stop in Ketchikan. Our guide Zach was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer questions about local flora and culture. We even got to see a bear fishing for salmon! Highly recommended!

        Wonderful tour
I loved this tour! It was the perfect amount of nature and information about the local plants and trees, and totems with background information about the original people of the area. Our tour guide Jeff was knowledgeable, interesting, and made the trip really enjoyable despite the rain. He was prompt and a good driver, and had a lot of great information to share with the group. I highly recommend this tour.

        Favorite activity on out cruise
This was a great tour through the Totem Park and Rainforest. Our tour guide was thorough, interesting and a Ketchikan native. She took us to the end of the island and was able to make the walks informative and entertaining for all ages on our tour.

        Rainforest Walk and Totem Park
Our family did the 2 hour Rainforest Hike and Totem Park tour. We had a great time and Zach did a terrific job! He even spent extra time teaching the kids about the local plants and wildlife. We would recommend this tour! Thanks!

        Incredible Trip
Zach was an incredible tour guide. Very knowledgeable of the area, flora and culture. Really appreciated the extra effort on his part to show us sea creatures at low tide.

        Memorable local land excursion
Thank you Wild Life Tours for picking us up right where we de-boarded our cruise and made it so easy. Jeff was an outstanding tour guide and shared all the fun facts and local knowledge as we drove to the Tongass Park. Great walk through the forest, unfortunately didn’t see large wildlife but a few toads and tried some fresh berries along the way. The second half of the excursion at the Totem Pole park was interesting and beautiful little park. Highly recommend this excursion if you stop in Ketchikan on a cruise!

        Great two hour trip
We went with a private van and Albert a local guide with our group. He drove us around Ketchikan while telling us about the history of the place. We also saw a bear on our nature walks and a beautiful waterfall. We enjoyed our tour of the Totem park as well.

Ketchikan 2-hour Rainforest and Totem Tour
The 2-hour rainforest walk and totem park tour was fantastic!! Our tour guide was Zack who was very knowledgeable on Ketchikan, local fauna, totem lore, etc. It truly was a nice small group of about 10 people. Zack was personable and inquired about our interests and encouraged questions. It allowed for a more catered tour and not standard like a recorded tour. You can tell he really enjoys what he does and gave us tips on cooking and eating some of the local plants. He even went above and beyond when he was talking about the forest and animal dens by climbing into the den to show us how deep they go. We got to see some wildlife on the tour. There were black-tailed deer in the rainforest along the trail we were on. We really enjoyed the tour and highly recommend it for anyone who visits Ketchikan. A nice alternative to the cruise ship excursions.

        small group very informative
What I love about these tours like with the JW whalewatching tour in Juneau that it is not about the money and tip. Jeff the guide was one who reallly liked it , had great pleasure, to explain us all about the nature in the rainforest and the totem parc. If you on the holland america line you only have time for the 2 hour tour. this suffice

Best 2 hours we’ve had this cruise!
Best tour we could’ve hoped for ! Zack was an awesome storyteller, historian, and all around swell guy. Took great care of our family group that ranged in age from 73 to 9 to make sure everyone had a great experience. 10 out of 10.

        Great tour, knowledgeable guide
I had a 6 hour cruise stop in Ketchikan. I booked this tour thinking it would be a nice way to get out of downtown Ketchikan and still have a few hours left to explore Creek Street on my own. The tour was great and left me the perfect amount of time to do some independent exploring. The guide was very knowledgeable!

        Best small group tour!
We just had our tour with Zach Stern as our guide. He was amazing and engaging and involved. All 4 teens did not complain once! We tried new things including drinking “water moss.” We were constantly entertained. The totem history was equally important and entertaining! Zach’s mom raised a fine young man and he clearly learned well from her too! Thanks for a great afternoon!

Very educational & entertaining. Highly recommend
This is a highlight from our time in AK. Our tour guide, Zach, made the experience since an educational, interactive & fun time. All 4 teens in our group had a great time & asked questions. He went off the path to find different plants & nature to show us. He was covered in dirt by the end of our tour. He even physically showed us how bears fit in cave by crawling in! I would highly recommend this tour to learn about nature. And shout out to Zach's mom who raised an amazing human being!

        Fascinating Tour
Jeff was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of things about the flora, trees and plants on our rainforest trek. We are deaf and he was very helpful to make sure we understood him while he e planned things. The totem poles is near the Pacific Ocean channel. Nice to Visit the location. Thank you.

        Exactly what we wanted!!
What an outstanding tour guide and itinerary!! Booked somewhat blindly with this company and it really turned into the highlight of the trip! Zach took us through the beautiful rainforest and the Totem Bight park. His knowledge and respect for these places was palpable and his upbeat demeanor made our day! Felt that we got much more than our money’s worth! Beautiful scenery and great Native Alaskan culture! This guide was one of the best I’ve ever experienced and took the time to return a pair of sunglasses my friend had left behind! (A cutie patootie, too!) Would definitely book again!

Would not recommend booking this tour with NCL. 3 hrs as advertised was really just about 1.5hrs in the park.
The only thing differtiating from a free Alaska rainforest experience (alaska has one of the biggest rainforests of the world and many locations provide walking distance access to rainforest) was info provided by the guide. Tour thru the forest felt rushed and the nearby waterfalls not included (got to take another tour 😞). Totem poles were nice and impressive, local carvers explain that they tell a story, but no time to explain what the stories are and how the poles tell it.
Visit to raptor rehab center was nice to see these living beautiful birds (bald eagle, hawk, owl) from up close, but so sad to learn why and how they ended there in the first place.
On the way back busdriver would not stop in Ketchikan to let guests off to visit the town, instead drove thru Ketchikan back to the NCL docks 7mi past. Then had to take shuttle from dock back to town wasting around 45 min for unnecessary bus ride out of a ca 6hr port stop.

Tracy was an amazing guide. She is a local and has some amazing stories and folklore tales. She pointed out a bear feeding in the river that we would have totally missed due to in being camouflaged. She is friendly, easy to talk to and very knowledgable. We did the 3 hour totem pole and rainforest tour which was much cheaper than booking through the cruise ship. I highly recommend this tour. You never know what you are going to see !!! (and P.S. she serves an amazing smoked salmon dip!!!).

I was able to take the 3 Hour Rainforest Walk and Totem Park excursion. Natalie was our group guide (I was solo) and I cannot be more grateful for her knowledge, attention to every detail, and warm personality. Her sense of wonder and excitement to share in the encounter made the trip one of the most special I've ever experienced. I continue to look back at photos taken there and hope to return soon--as soon as I can!

I cannot recommend this excursion highly enough if you are looking to experience the beautiful peace the nature of Ketchikan has to offer in a small group setting. Learning the history and culture of the native Haida, Tlingit, and Tsimshian people was a huge highlight and unforgettable.

We loved our experience with Wild Wolf Tours. First, our pick up from the cruise ship dock was super easy and seamless. They were easy to find and got us started right away. Next, our tour guide Austin was exceptionally well informed, a great educator and he was very hospitable and gracious. He spoke with an unassuming and helpful intelligence on natural phenomena (biology of the forest and the tidal zone), geological history and both native and local history. The rainforest trek was beautiful and peaceful, and Austin helped us spot (and eat) wild berries. The scenery there is incredible if you like the forest. (We lucked out with a stunningly beautiful day in the low 70’s.) We got to see a bald eagle feeding on the beach and Austin even took some great photos for us by positioning himself to get a better view. He shared homemade salmon spread with the group as a snack and then took us to the totem park. Austin gave excellent descriptions of the meaning of the carvings along the tour and even was able to answer our question about “ridicule” poles. We would strongly recommend Wild Wolf Tours to anyone visiting Ketchikan. We had a great time and came away with a deeper understanding of many different aspects of this area. Thank you Wild Wolf! Thank you and Bravo Austin! You were a great tour guide.

Our rainforest walk and totem Park tour was unexpectedly wondrous and magical. Like no other experience the juxtaposition of towering snow covered mountains and a temperate rainforest was just unbelievably beautiful. Our tour guide who is in native to the area was extremely knowledgeable and makes a heck of a salmon dip.

We enjoyed our rainforest tour as well as the totem pole tour. Tracy is charming and very knowledgeable about Ketchikan and was eager to share its history and hers with us. The drive to the head of the trail was also informative thanks to Tracy. Our feedback would be that this is more than a walk with a few stairs. There were quite a few stairs and some of them were over a foot high. We don’t have a problem with a long walk (we just retuned from Dublin where we did a five mile walk around the City which included stairs), but this had too many stairs to point that I had a hard time enjoying my surroundings. Perhaps you could be more clear about this tour with plentiful stairs vs your tour with just a flat trail? We wish you all the best for your business and family in the months and years to come!

Thanks for taking the time to write review, we appreciate your feedback. We do try to include in description that there are several sets of stairs on the 3 hour tour and that the 2 hour does not have any stairs. It is important to us that guests have wonderful experience on the trails. Thank You!

We had a stop in Ketchikan on an Alaska cruise. Doing some research on Trip Advisor, it appeared that Wild Wolf Tours of the rain forest and Totem Park had excellent reviews. Having a few questions, I called, leaving a message. Tracy, the owner (with her husband) called back very promptly and answered all of my questions. I booked the tour. We were met by Tracy right where we got off the cruise ship. There was a total of six of us for the tour. The drive to the location of the rain forest hike was about 45 minutes, during which time Tracy told us about the area we would be visiting as well as her personal story living in Alaska. She was very engaging. The rain forest was beautiful, with views of waterfalls, streams, and incredible foliage. We even saw a few banana slugs. The pace allowed time to take many photographs of the lush scenery. Returning to our van, after a snack provided by Tracy, our next stop was Totem Park, where we saw many totem poles and learned about their history, meaning, and how they are created. Following that we visited the small museum and gift shop at Totem Park. It was a great three hours with Tracy. I highly recommend this tour - you will not be disappointed. I am not sure if the tour is available through the cruise lines, but it is certainly available on the Trip Advisor website. It deserves five stars, and it is always nice to support a family owned business.

We had the most amazing experience in Ketchikan with our guide Zack. Instead of a cruise sponsored excursion, our group of 9 opted to do a private tour with Wild Wolf Tours. The price was very reasonable and in line with what the cruise ships charge for giant group tours, however we had such a better overall experience. We chose to go for a hike in the rainforest, go to a totem park, and take a walk through Creek Street in Ketchikan. Our whole group had the best time with our guide going through a beautiful hike through the rainforest and down to the beach. We explored all over and found lots of plants and wildlife to see. Our tour guide was really fun and excited to show us Ketchikan. We had several kids in our group and he was really patient and engaged with them. We all had the bet day in Ketchikan and our tour with Wild Wolf was unanimously everyone's favorite port and excursion on our whole trip!

Loved this adventure! Our tour guide Torah grew up here and is from a long line of family from here. I can't remember which clan she was from but hearing the stories and the traditions was very interesting.
We did a walk through the rainforest, there were many stairs up and down if that is an issue it would be hard to do, but we loved it. Torah is very knowledgeable about the rain forest and the many things in it so it was very interesting. Loved the sounds of all the waterfalls!
Torah also had local salmon dip for snacks which was very nice as well.
Would recommend this trip to get a sense of the culture of Ketchikan and to really see and feel a rain forest.
