My husband has a prosthetic leg, the result of an accident in May 2019. We took a cruise at part of our new "normal" and signed up for sea kayaking since we both miss being out on the water and my husband is wary of our pedal kayak.

When we arrived at Southeast Exposure, our guide his is Polaris Ranger to transport my husband down towards the dock so he wouldn't have to walk so far. He also helped him into the front of a double sea kayak with me in the back to navigate, using the rudder pedals.

Once he pushed the kayak in the water, a cloud of joy encompassed us. It was pure magic! We had the most amazing time kayaking, looking at wildlife and coasting along Tatoosh Island.

Afterwards, we enjoyed homemade chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate.

I'm deeply grateful for the fantastic experience, knowledgeable and helpful guide, and wandering around Southeast Exposure afterwards to check out the zipline and other amenities. GREAT COMPANY 10/10

This was the best excursion over the course of our trip. This was our first kayak experience and Clemy and Micki did an excellent job of both getting us acclimated and up to speed. They are very knowledgeable and patient :). They knew just how to keep the first timers and the more experienced together and are very knowledgeable making the trip a great learning experience. Kudos to them both!

My mom and I booked this excursion during our first-ever cruise, and it was an amazing way to start our on-shore experiences in Alaska. Mickie and Keenan were energetic and enthusiastic guides who also had a lot of kindness and patience for our group that had varied ages and skill levels. We had a smooth experience from start to finish, from getting suited up to paddling to returning. I loved seeing eagles soar overhead along with jellyfish and sea stars in the water. I like to think of myself as an experienced kayaker, but this took it up a notch- I did a lot of work on the open water! But it was all worth it. My tip: Stay near the front or back of the pack to best hear your guides as they point out highlights while on the water.

Really felt like our guides were just phoning it in; we had a blast on our other cruise excursions but this was a dud. From the looks of it, the ziplining folks were consistently having more fun so if you're debating between the two activities, I suggest avoiding the sea kayaking.

I canoe and my partner has kayaked, yet we still found it incredibly difficult to maneuver against the wind and current. I will be the first to admit we would have benefitted from any instruction, but there was none to be had. We were placed in a kayak, cast off, and left to figure it strokes on our own. I felt bad for a parent and two teenagers in a three-person kayak; they struggled even more and just seemed to have a miserable time.

We were led by two guides who seemed to be having some personal disagreement. It sounded like the lead guide had been working all day and missed lunch (we were an afternoon group) and the other guide thought about grabbing an extra sandwich but didn't. No open disputes but the two didn't speak much to each other. In fact, they didn't speak much at all. We were told an island was called Eagle Island because it had eagles, and spent the rest of the time on the water in silence. My partner and I pointed out starfish and birds to each other just to have some engagement.

One weird aspect was when the rear guide offered to take photos of folks with one of the islands in the backdrop. We said we would really appreciate it, but when we came up with our phone she just paddled away.

I have ZERO experience with kayaking and I was the only solo traveler in the group. It was not a problem: Ali and Jackson were our guides and they were awesome. Specifically, Ali shared a kayak with me and she was very patient and helpful. Both Ali and Jackson did a great job pointing out all the creatures on the coast line. They would get very excited about the smallest things (like starfish) which got me very excited too. They also have zip lining there too . (which I did not do) I would recommend this place to
Both experienced and inexperienced kayakers.

Trevin was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and personable. We were fortunate to have an extraordinary experience - the whales came very close to our kayaks!! Trevin has my video. We were all just in awe. Trevin shared knowledge of whales, eagles, and some marine life (all of which we saw), so he was able to predict the behavior of these animals, which helped in being able to see more wildlife activity. I would recommend Trevin and this tour because the knowledge he shared made us feel comfortable and he seems a natural in sharing that.

Eagle Island Sea Kayaking tour is a MUST DO!! We were on a cruise and decided we wanted to Kayak so we booked a tour. From the moment we were met at the dock until we were dropped off back at the dock the trip was amazing! The bus drivers were like tour guides. Learned a lot about Ketchikan while on the quick drive to our destination. Once we arrived, the process of signing waivers, to putting on safety gear and then getting in the kayak was quick and efficient. The tour to the Eagles nest and around the surrounding islands was peaceful and so beautiful. We saw sea lions during our kayak trip which was an added bonus. We had Rainey and Clementine as our tour guides and they were knowledgeable, professional and a lot of fun! Katie made us feel as if we were family from moment 1 at the dock and we saw her again after the tour was finished.
If you get to Ketchikan, you must go to Eagle Island Sea Kayaking! You will not be disappointed!!!!!!

Wonderful experience. The kayak was very easy to maneuver and our guide Chris made sure we were comfortable with the equipment before we departed. Scenery was awesome. Even saw a bald eagle doing some nest repair. Also, since ours was an early morning tour at low tide, we viewed hundreds of starfish along the shore. From pickup in downtown to drop off, we felt very at ease comfortable. Great conversation and again, the views were amazing. Would bring just about anyone here for a wonderful experience.

Went on this sea kayaking tour with my daughter, while our cruise ship, Majestic Princess was in port in Ketchikan. This excursion was really excellent. Our guides Trevin and Rainy, took great care with us, and adapted our route as eagles, seals and sea lions were spotted by participants. They were even accommodating of my request that my daughter and I have single kayaks rather than the regular provision of double kayaks. They were very careful that everyone knew how to steer their kayak and were wearing appropriate life jackets. Scenery here is very natural and beautiful..
I highly recommend this tour and company.

This was a great experience! The guides were experienced and thoughtful - they made sure everyone was safe and keeping with the group. We got to see numerous eagles, star fish and even some humpback whales. Definitely would recommend to anyone willing to work their arms for a few hours in Ketchikan!
