        Festive adventure
This was a great adventure! A fun and festive way to see Alaska. The guides took so much time to try to find animals. Autumn, Trey, and Captain John deserve raises!Thank you so much!

        Terrific!
Had killer whales 3/4 of the way around the boat. We saw a sea otter. And, a humpback whale teaching her young pup to feed. Amazing!

Wonderful excursion with a great guide
This was the most memorable excursion of all we did while in Alaska. Not only was the outfit the best run and executed of all we did, our guide, Trent, was AMAZING. Not only was he a pleasure to interact with, he was exceptionally professional and top notch in his handling of our raft of nine, including two with mobility issues. He made us all feel special and appreciated, even though he did all the paddling and raft maneuvering. He made a great excursion exceptional and we would take it again if we could get him as our guide.

        Memorable float day!
Kayden was the best guide ever, he handled the raft like a pro, had a great sense of humor, was very knowledgeable about the area and was a fantastic story teller! We would book with Kayden again anytime! Thanks for a memorable experience Kayden! Bobbi & Brian

        Fun raft down the Mendenhall
Had lots of fun. Our guide Adam Bergen was great. There was one section where the raft got stuck, but his perseverance got us going. The views were amazing and aside from a few rapids, very peaceful.

        Whale watching through Norwegian cruise
Clare and Jacky gave us the best experience of whale watching. We saw orcas and humpback whales. They were so informative and entertaining!

Great day of whale watching, with a salmon bake
We had a wonderful whale watching trip with Hannah and Cpt. Lee. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. We saw multiple whales, including Sasha. We also saw porpoises. We highly recommend this excursion. The salmon bake was delicious at the end of the day, too.

        Whale watching
Our guide Hannah was very pleasant and informative. Captain Jay found us an incredible pod? of whales! It was supposed to be a two hour tour, but it lasted much longer!

Captain J and Hannah were awesome. Beautiful day and amazing sites. Saw about 15 humpbacks, seals and sea lions. What a great way to spend our morning in Juneau.

        Shady Tour Operator
This review is strictly for the operator of this excursion, not any third party that you might see that books this same excursion. We were on the Oceania Regatta in June and this was to be our first excursion in Alaska. Ketchikan was our first port of call. We got off the ship and found the rep for the operator in the appropriate location. We discovered we were a total of four to be on this excursion. The two of us and two others. The other two people never arrived after 30 mintues at which time the operator rep disappeared and was never to be found. Our only recourse was the Oceania excursion rep who told us our excursion was cancelled by the operator because of not enought people. This all happened at the shore terminal. If you book this excursion be VERY weary of the operator. They are not reliable nor ethical. Because the other 2 people not showing up forfeited their money the operator still would have had the monies associated with their booking and our booking keeping them whole. But they decided to bail. They bailed so aggressively that they were nowhere to be found at the terminal. Do NOT book this excursion as they might leave you "hanging out to dry" and abandon you at the very last minute prior to your excursion. Oceania still offers the "Rainforest Island Adventure" excursion and is offerred by many of the cruise lines. I would recommend avoiding this excursion at all cost. I hope this review can help someone avoid the experience we had to endure from this operator.

Did not feel safe in the bus at all.
The bus was unsafe and run down. The window defrost didn’t work nor the drivers microphone. Times were not communicated well and we did not have any time to hike at the glacier and felt rushed with dinner to make it back to our cruise.

They should give a partial refund.
They ran 1 hour late. A lot of waiting around. There was about 800 people at the salmon bake so more waiting. Since they were running late, the whale watching was cut short. Disappointed. I wouldn't do it again. Hannah and Lee on the boat were very knowledgeable and friendly

        Great time!
Hanna and captain Lee did a wonderful job on the tour! We saw several whales and enjoyed hearing all of the info about the whales. Beautiful weather not cold at all. The salmon was delicious!

The main problem with this excursion was the bus driver Mr. Ed. He needs to speak slowly and clearly into his microphone and only talk about the interesting things on the drive to the excursion. Most of the time he mumbled and rambled into the microphone about his own personal life. It was really uncomfortable to be trapped in the bus like this. The excursion was pretty basic paddling around an inland lake with a very short nature walk. Guide Miles was knowledgeable. I wouldn’t do this again and wouldn’t recommend it.

Bumpy road ride, almost no intro to the history of Alaska. Lake is serene, but local nature guide lacks nature knowledge and the forest walk was less then 5 min. Pretty disappointed at thr nature interpretation. Canoe ride was present and snak was good . But would not recommend .

If I was just rating on the quality of our guide and the delicious snack, this would be a 5/5. However, we were disappointed with this excursion and would not recommend.

The description is a little misleading. We thought we’d have some opportunity to see wildlife, though as soon as we got on the bus we were informed this would not be the case as not much wildlife is at this location. The carnivorous plant is probably cooler to see later on in the season, but when we went (late May), it was smaller than the size of a thumb nail.

The nature walk is good-hearted, and our guide, Colt, was incredibly knowledgeable about the forest and the different quirks. Probably great for kids. Not much that you can’t see walking into a local forest though.

The huge upside was Colt’s enthusiasm and passion for the area. It was contagious and we’re very appreciative to him.

Every person in your group is in the same canoe, so paddling can be difficult, especially when there are people who have never canoed before.

Overall, this experience can be had pretty much anywhere that has a small lake. Pass if you want something a little more true to Alaska/Ketchikan.

A knowledgeable and engaging guide combined with snacks and scenery made this a fun time. One thought to share, if you are an experienced paddler - expect frustration. It appeared to be a surprise to many on our excursion that some effort was required to move a canoe with 16 people in it.
All I can say is that I really enjoyed this as the best excursion of our Alaskan visit.

Our guide Zach was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Just disappointed we didn’t see any wildlife. And some people sat in the boat and didn’t row 🤬😬 Nice snack and drinks toward the end. I would rather be in this environment in the peace and quiet because we were surrounded by beauty.

An excellent blend between a canoe trip in a pristine temperate rainforest and a nature walk by a very knowledgeable and fun guide. A nice warm snack in the middle was just what we needed as well, cooked by a companion guide. A great value for the money. Ellie, our exuberate guide, was all you could want in a nature guide.

My partner and I took Colt's rainforest Canoe and Nature Walk tour and enjoyed it thoroughly. Colt made the experience a memorable one, keeping us informed and entertained for three and a half hours. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and we learned so much about the magical rainforest. The chowder and salmon spread snacks were delicious. We highly recommend taking this excursion with Colt as your amazing guide!

Our guide Bella was amazing! So knowledgeable and friendly. She pointed out many local fungi, explained the history of the area and how natural formations were created, and was genuinely enthusiastic about her work. She made the canoe trip and nature walk a highlight of our trip!

Colt provided a fun and informative canoeing experience. I liked the homemade chowder and spreads that were available before our short walking tour. It was an interesting ride up to the lake. Our bus driver from our cruise port was also very informative. The echoes were really neat to hear on the lake. We saw deer and loons on the canoe portion and learned a lot about the plants on the walking tour.

.Another favorite excursion. Took a small tour bus out to Harriet Hunt Lake. There are about 30 people (give or take a few) in each canoe. There were only 2 canoes so it was another peaceful outing. Lake was like glass - we were blessed with perfect weather. Learned about the Lake, surrounding forest, and it was a nice paddle around the area. Also, There are 3 people on a seat and the middle person does not paddle. So many old trees surround this lake. The nature walk is not a hike. It goes in a circle into the woods and it is on a boardwalk. So if you have issues walking this is something you would still be able to do. After the walk we went back to the sheltered area for jam, salmon spread, bread, snacks, hot chocolate, coffee. One thing you see if a type of lichen (old man's beard) that only grows in the purest of air - so you are breathing good clean air.! If you are looking for something quiet to do, this is for you.
