About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Camper664411264300 contributionsMost comfortable whale watchingComfortable boat. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, especially our naturalist Lisa. Answered all our questions and then some while providing a once in a lifetime experience whale watching with multiple hump backs. Don't forget the yummy food and drinks. If you're in Juneau this is a must-doWritten September 21, 2024
- 573yvonne0 contributionsWhale watching excursionThe best excursion of the whole trip. My entire family loved it and they said how great it was! the captain and naturalist were so friendly and knowledgeable. we had two little kids and they made sure we were all taken care of. 5star service. Worth every penny. would definitely do again.Written September 19, 2024
- melissabI9903PH0 contributionsOne word: Incredible!Where do I begin? If you're looking for an intimate and special experience whale watching with 360 views and an amazing crew this is for you. Seriously, I can't even explain how amazing this experience was. First, Shannon (Capt'n) and Tori (Naturalist) were beyond knowledgeable and their passion was indescribable. They really went above and beyond to make this experience one for the books. Second, the whale watching experience is one I will NEVER forget. There were so many whales it was hard to keep track! At one point the whales (yes multiple) were 50ft or less from our boat! It felt like they were putting on a show just for us! We felt so lucky and are still filled with gratitude. And to see how excited Shannon and Tori were just made it even more exciting! Tori was able to tell us which whale it was by the tail markings! Shannon even put the microphone under the water and we were able to hear one. I cannot say enough good things about this tour. There is no better way to whale watch in Juneau. Oh, and the beverages, charcuterie and private bathroom are just a bonus. Thank you again, for the BEST whale watching experience.Written September 17, 2024
- mahonedawgmom0 contributionsAlaska Luxury is by far the best one we have been onWhat an excellent tour. The crew were fabulous. Saw plenty of whales. The hospitality was top notch. It was educational as well not only about the wildlife but about the area of Juneau. Highly recommendedWritten September 16, 2024
- 832liannec0 contributionsWonderful whale watching experienceIncredible experience! Gorgeous yacht, fabulous information and service. Whale watching can’t compare to this. Thank you for a perfect day!!!Written September 4, 2024
- djkaplan670 contributionsOur Alaskan Whale Tour w/ Alaskan LuxuryThank you to the whole Alaskan Luxury team. Our cruise "sold out" of the whale watching tours and I reached out directly to Alaskan Luxury. They found a time slot for a private tour for my family. First class treatment from booking to the tour. The boat was great, private stateroom for my daughter's cat nap and a bathroom which is always appreciated. The crew was just as excited as we were to spot the whales. Great charcuterie board and drinks were waiting for us when we boarded. Couldn't have asked for more. Thanks all!Written September 3, 2024
- Scenic7054710 contributionsSpectacularThis excursion is excellent. The yacht is beautiful, the day well organized and Captain Jen and first mate Hannah are informative, knowledgeable, professional and quite enjoyable. There were 8 in our group and all of us had a spectacular time. Not only did we see humpback whales but an Orca (Captain Hook) as well. Our favorite excursion in Alaska.Written August 16, 2024
- NBH314010 contributionsPrivate Juneau Tour!We loved having our own private, luxury van in Juneau! We were able to visit all the places that meant so much to my parents. Tori, our driver, was amazing and accommodating and kind. We had 4 hours to visit some popular and not so popular tourist spots and some personal stops along the way too. We knew what we wanted to do in Juneau, and Tori made that happen for us! Being picked up and dropped off at the ship was great as we had elderly folks who can't walk long distances and she accommodated them so well. Thanks again!Written July 20, 2024
- Dawg080 contributionsSecond time out. Great crew, whales galoreJuly 2024 second trip. July 2022 first. If you do nothing else on your trip you Alaska do this. Intimate, safe, clean, knowledgeable captain and guide.Written July 15, 2024

- nicolegT4249FQ0 contributionsDo it!!!! You won't regret it!Seriously THE BEST!!! I'm not one to write reviews usually but this tour was one of the best experiences ever. If I could give them more stars I would! You definitely felt VIP and everything is so bougie. From the pickup in their beautiful sprinter van to drive to Auke bay, Dan was our shuttle driver and he was super friendly and had lots of great knowledge about the area. We got to see the salmon hatchery, so many bald eagles and learn about sites in Juneau along the way. Then once at Auke bay you are greeted by the best crew who are going to take you out on the water in one of the most beautiful yachts ever. It really is crazy how gorgeous all of their boats are. We got to go out on Apex and our captain was Sergio and Naturalist's were Shannon and Emily. My group of 7 felt like we were family and they were all so knowledgeable and showed us ALLLLL the whales, even a little babayyy and the cutest sea lions. Auke bay is really breathtaking in itself but to be able to see so much sea life and learn so much about them from the crew really was an incredible experience! If I were to do anything differently I'd book them for the entire day because it was such an amazing experience and my group was so sad when it came to an end! Well worth every penny and I'd do it again in heartbeat! We've been back for almost a week now and my group is still commenting on how amazing this experience was. Definitely the highlight of our trip!! Pro Tip: Eat ALLLLLL the salmon dip...OMG! Yum!!!Written July 12, 2024
- Meander7599780 contributionsPerfect trip in Juneau.Amazing trip! Crew very attentive. Riding in the comfy and speedy yacht was the best as my family isn’t terribly social and would have just sat alone in a corner had we done a big excursion. Great information from our guide. Apparently many whales are well known and have names. Went to 2 locations - first with one whale. Headed to another spot and saw a cluster of 8 whales. Big fins and little fins (a young ehake came up really close to us) We were lucky to see a few glaciers as well (I liked the Herbert glacier) Captian Lisa and nature guide Savannah are the best!Written July 9, 2024
- Road411083265590 contributionsWonderful whale watching/glacier experienceFriendly, attentive, service. Beautiful yacht with snacks, drinks and even gifts for the birthday people onboard. We saw 5 humpbacks and sea lions. Comfortable space for 6 of us onboard.Written July 7, 2024
- Kasey C0 contributionsLOVED Aleesha! 10+ Humpbacks, 5+ Orcas, Sea-lions, including mama-baby pairsLuxe experience that was made by Aleesha, our marine naturalist! We learned so much about sea life & she was extra sweet to our youngest, answering endless questions! Great drinks, snacks, & overall experience. We saw plenty of humpback whales, orcas, sea lions, & eagles! Would highly recommendWritten July 6, 2024
- AKP630 contributionsThe BestRight from the start when we were picked up by Kevin we knew we were in for a treat. Kevin picked up 6 of us from our cruise ship and drove us to Auke bay. Along the way he gave us some useful facts about Juneau. Once we arrived in Auke Bay we were met by Shannon (naturalist) and Sarah who was the captain. On arrival we were served a variety of snacks, cheeses and unlimited beers and wines, all delicious I might add. Shannon’s knowledge of whales was second to none, she was extremely informative and after a while you will understand why she loves Whales so much. Sarah and Shannon make a great double act which was great as we all had a lot of fun. In the end we did get to see the Whales in their natural habitat and that was the reason why we were there. I would definitely recommend Alaska Luxury Tours and Shannon and Sarah, you will be in great hands.Written July 5, 2024

Easy efficient booking with a call to Brent. Good communication about the expected experience and fee structure. Our group of 8 was expertly toured by Gene. His level of knowledge was impressive. We toured the Shrine of St Therese, Mendenhall Glacier/Nugget Falls and a local brewery. Our trip was a custom negotiation of some things we wanted to accomplish. Saw some wildlife, bear, eagles, marmot and lots of birds! He then dropped us at a local eatery where we had a delicious lunch and we walked back to our cruise ship. There was a minor issue over fees for additional time, which was quickly resolved with a call to the office. The vehicle was well maintained and clean. No water/ beverages provided and I’m not sure what the policy is regarding bringing your own. Highly recommend Alaska Luxury Tours for a personal & comfortable excursion.

I can not say enough great things about this tour and our wonderful guide Lilli!
She was so knowledgeable about all the Alaska flora, especially avoiding the devil's claw! She picked us up at our hotel, had a complimentary water bottle for each of us, snacks and water, too. We drove about 20 minutes to the hiking trail but made.a quick detour, on our insistence, to get her dog Odie, who made the hike even more fun! Lilli took us on trails that were not packed with other hikers and that made the experience so pleasant.
The hike was not strenuous but challenging enough to get a workout. She took us to an old mining camp and showed us some of the best places to take pictures of Mendenhall Glacier and the nearby Nugget waterfall. We then stopped at the Mendenhall Visitor Center, where we could tour the exhibits and get one last picture. We have taken many guided hikes all over the world, but we will never forget this wonderful hike with Lilli and Odie.

Had a fantastic walk with our guide Aleesha, she was so thoughtful and asked which trail we would like to go on. She impressed us with her knowledge and was very informative. The walk had stunning views and quite invigorating. We were provided with water and snacks. Thanks to Aleesha for a great time. Your English guests were impressed.
