      Festive adventure
This was a great adventure! A fun and festive way to see Alaska. The guides took so much time to try to find animals. Autumn, Trey, and Captain John deserve raises!Thank you so much!

      Terrific!
Had killer whales 3/4 of the way around the boat. We saw a sea otter. And, a humpback whale teaching her young pup to feed. Amazing!

Wonderful excursion with a great guide
This was the most memorable excursion of all we did while in Alaska. Not only was the outfit the best run and executed of all we did, our guide, Trent, was AMAZING. Not only was he a pleasure to interact with, he was exceptionally professional and top notch in his handling of our raft of nine, including two with mobility issues. He made us all feel special and appreciated, even though he did all the paddling and raft maneuvering. He made a great excursion exceptional and we would take it again if we could get him as our guide.

      Memorable float day!
Kayden was the best guide ever, he handled the raft like a pro, had a great sense of humor, was very knowledgeable about the area and was a fantastic story teller! We would book with Kayden again anytime! Thanks for a memorable experience Kayden! Bobbi & Brian

      Fun raft down the Mendenhall
Had lots of fun. Our guide Adam Bergen was great. There was one section where the raft got stuck, but his perseverance got us going. The views were amazing and aside from a few rapids, very peaceful.

Great day of whale watching, with a salmon bake
We had a wonderful whale watching trip with Hannah and Cpt. Lee. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. We saw multiple whales, including Sasha. We also saw porpoises. We highly recommend this excursion. The salmon bake was delicious at the end of the day, too.

      Whale watching
Our guide Hannah was very pleasant and informative. Captain Jay found us an incredible pod? of whales! It was supposed to be a two hour tour, but it lasted much longer!

      Shady Tour Operator
This review is strictly for the operator of this excursion, not any third party that you might see that books this same excursion. We were on the Oceania Regatta in June and this was to be our first excursion in Alaska. Ketchikan was our first port of call. We got off the ship and found the rep for the operator in the appropriate location. We discovered we were a total of four to be on this excursion. The two of us and two others. The other two people never arrived after 30 mintues at which time the operator rep disappeared and was never to be found. Our only recourse was the Oceania excursion rep who told us our excursion was cancelled by the operator because of not enought people. This all happened at the shore terminal. If you book this excursion be VERY weary of the operator. They are not reliable nor ethical. Because the other 2 people not showing up forfeited their money the operator still would have had the monies associated with their booking and our booking keeping them whole. But they decided to bail. They bailed so aggressively that they were nowhere to be found at the terminal. Do NOT book this excursion as they might leave you "hanging out to dry" and abandon you at the very last minute prior to your excursion. Oceania still offers the "Rainforest Island Adventure" excursion and is offerred by many of the cruise lines. I would recommend avoiding this excursion at all cost. I hope this review can help someone avoid the experience we had to endure from this operator.

Did not feel safe in the bus at all.
The bus was unsafe and run down. The window defrost didn’t work nor the drivers microphone. Times were not communicated well and we did not have any time to hike at the glacier and felt rushed with dinner to make it back to our cruise.

They should give a partial refund.
They ran 1 hour late. A lot of waiting around. There was about 800 people at the salmon bake so more waiting. Since they were running late, the whale watching was cut short. Disappointed. I wouldn't do it again. Hannah and Lee on the boat were very knowledgeable and friendly

      Great time!
Hanna and captain Lee did a wonderful job on the tour! We saw several whales and enjoyed hearing all of the info about the whales. Beautiful weather not cold at all. The salmon was delicious!

Captain Lee was a great captain and Hannah was a very experienced and well spoken guide. The boat was fast, clean and well organized.

Our guide Ian was excellent, very informative and everyone was kitted-out really well.
If you have kayaked before be mindful that the pace is a bit slow and progress and speed, understandably, is set by beginners in the group. You also don’t get particularly close to the Meadenhall glacier but, doubtless this is a safety precaution!
A great experience, if a little pricey, for beginners and anyone after another perspective to enjoy the scenery.

5 stars for safety procedures, and bus ride with April to get to site. Mishka was very helpful and knowledgeable guide. She got us set up with boots and spray skirts and lifejackets, and Took pictures of us and shared them with us afterwards.
However, the experience was not what I was after. I was hoping for more exploratory kayaking, and getting closer to the glacier. The glacier was 6 miles away. All we really did this was stay in the middle of the lake and had to stay together in a group of course. As an experienced kayaker I was really looking to paddle more and see more sites. We lucked out with nice weather so at least that was something.

Beautiful views of a glacier and waterfall. There is a small beach where you can disembark and get a bit closer to the gorgeous waterfall. Try drinking the water! It was fresh, cold, and tasted so much better than anything you can get in the lower 48 states. Our van driver was David and he really made the trip to and from the lake a lot of fun. He was knowledgeable and funny. We learned a lot about the local history, and his presentation was lively. Our canoe guide was Joel. He was also very knowledgeable and kept the canoe ride interesting. He gave us plenty of time to take photos! We learned a lot about the lake, glacier, and surrounding nature from him. You could tell both of these young men enjoy their job. Please be sure you are able to row a canoe and get in and out of it with little or no help.

Great experience. Although I was a little disappointed that the glacier was so far away. Saw three bald eagles though, so that was exciting. Alegra was awesome. She was very patient and explained things in great detail. Would definitely go again.

I recommend taking this kayaking trip. My tour guides were Kat and Aubrey. They were very knowledgeable and told us a lot of history of the surrounding areas. The scenera was breathtaking and we saw eagles and sea lions.

We were able to see a couple seals and some great views! Our guide was Noah and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. We didn’t have the best kayakers in our group but he was patient and nice the whole time. I’d definitely recommend doing this if you’re in the area.

Being in Nature getting to be in the middle of majestic mountain ranges, view of the Mendenhall Glacier and nature all around. It was great. I was a little hesitant since many said it was misleading due to how far you actually were from the glacier. This picture to me is perfect portrayal of how far you are. It was nice knowing that prior but to me it was still amazing. If you want to see the glacier up close take the shuttle to the glacier and walk around.

Thanks to Aubrey for being a great guide on our sea kayak tour. We had a great time! The trip was a good balance of viewing wildlife, exercise and sightseeing. I would have liked to be closer to the glacier (it’s in view but you are not right up against it). Some great photos and an overall great excursion,

As our walking trip to glacier was cancelled we went kayaking instead. Our group leader and guide was Allegra and she was great. Saw harbour seals and one sea lion as well as an eagle. Great views of glacier.
